Civil Servant Park Min-Jae (Lee Je-Hoon) gets transferred to a new district in Seoul. He is a young man of principle and diligent at his job. At his new ward office, Park Min-Jae gets inundated with civil complaints by grumpy, elderly resident Na Ok-Boom (Na Moon-Hee). He tries to appease her as best as he can. Meanwhile, Na Ok-Boom practices English when she's not working at her tailor shop or filing complaints at the local ward office. When she realizes Park Min-Jae can speak English almost fluently, she asks him to teach her to speak English. She has her reasons why she wants to speaks English.

sheila Nov 28 2022 4:44 am I have watch this again in 2022 and still I'm cry so much.. Korean movies about comfort women is always heartbreaking. I can speak (2017), Herstory (2018), Spirits' Homecoming (2016).. also never missed any Na Moon He movies project. She is amazing in her acting!

But it made me cry. I felt so sad for all the comfort women. I felt so sad that i began to remember that here in Philippines, there are also comfort women that japanese hurt, ruin, and now living hard that it hurts them to remember what happens.

Korean movies and series always make sure they do stories comes to life beautifully and realistically.

Maria Feb 17 2022 8:48 am I can say that this is the most enjoy korean movie. Usually I watch movie based on popular cast but it didnt satisfy me a lot and make me confuse about the plot. But this film is different, from beginning to end....it is perfect and really touch my heart. There is some scene that I love the most when his brother come to haelmoni's house and in the court. I really recommend this drama. Really great 10000/10

miranda Apr 17 2019 11:15 pm this movie was fantastic. the cast is full of talented actors whom i adored in other shows and movies, so i knew it couldn't be bad. However, it was better than i even expected!! i don't know if you could call it a plot twist, but the dynamic certainly shifted and the tone became much more serious. it was an incredibly powerful story and i didn't dislike a single second of it. i really recommend watching. warning, you will probably cry and if the japanese invasion is a sensitve subject for you, i would be careful going into it.

I really focused to the film. Such a good film. i just to know that the film based from reality. 5 stars for the film and to the main character Na Moonhee Halmonie :)

I first decided to watch it because of Lee Je Hoon but the movie turned out to be one of the best i watched this year. I don't understand the low rating on this website though... it's such an amazing movie!!! The two main actors are wonderful and the chemistry is definitely there, although not romantically speaking of course. Highly recommended for sure!!

An eye opening movie and makes you realised how much pain our grandparents had to go through. you can seriously feel the emotions especially from grandma Na Moonhee.

I am a fan of Lee Jehoon, and already watched (almost) all his movies and dramas. Perfect acts of him. I know Sung Yoobin since It's Okay That's Love, he did great job too. And they did work together in this movie, with the great storyline. Really worth to watch!

Usually I'm amused when I hear english in kdramas, but I gotta say I'm impressed this time. I love this because it's so heartwarming but also highlights tragedies in history. Superb cast <3

I expected laughter, and yes, there are comedic scenes that made me laugh, but there are unexpected twists in this movie that made it a much deeper story.It made this slice of life movie even more relevant, with reminders of the past which should not be forgotten. \

Both Lee Jae Hoon as the reluctant teacher and Na Moon Hee as that determined grandmother really works well together and so are the rest of the supporting cast.

I have spend several years in Korea while serving in the US Air Force. I'm looking forward to seeing the movie when it comes out.
