Yatora Yaguchi (Gordon Maeda) is liked by his high school classmates and he gets good grades in school, but he feels an emptiness inside. He is having trouble with an assignment to paint a favorite landscape in his art class. After much deliberation, he decides to paint "Blue Shibuya at Dawn." While painting, he feels for the first time that he can express himself. His interest in art develops and he decides to apply to the best art university in Japan, but he faces major hurdles including talented rivals and art that does not have a correct answer.
