Han Yi-Han (So Ji-Sub) was an elite elite surgeon. He graduated at the top of the best medical school in South Korea and he specialized in two departments: general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery. One surgery changed his life. Han Yi-Han believe he did well on that surgery, but the patient died. He then got his medical license revoked.

Four years later, Han Yi-Han works as a lawyer, specializing in medical litigation. He also tries to uncover the truth behind the death of his former patient. For his trials, Han Yi-Han defends victims and tries to punish those that commit medical malpractice and negligence. He works with a public prosecutor, who lost a family member and a lover due to the surgery Han Yi-Han performed.

JJ Aug 01 2025 10:21 am Great drama and role by SJS. But I just can't with the FL she's just not suitable for this role. Totally mismatched with SJS. She can't show emotions like her love for the ML even tho they are engaged to be married. Keep saying she doesn't know him but she herself doesn't make an effort to understand him. Can't cry for her brother as well except shouting urgghhh. Great job by SSR too.

Zeus Jul 03 2025 4:40 am A great drama!!! Loved it, so addictive. JSJ nailed it again, he never disappoints on screen. Such a skilled actor, a gem! The storyline is great, the cast just superb. Kudos to all of them. I just have a struggle with the character Jayden, i do not understand why he is pictured as a villain? He was cornered with an accident to get that heart transplant and was not even aware whose heart he would get. So why was he at fault? I am puzzled with that. But other than that, a great show to watch, really worthwhile. For me a definite 10/10+++

Coupled with the refreshing Lee Joo-Bin and Woo Hyun-Zoo, this drama excels in its tempo and artistic arrangement. The portion between the deep legal and medical themes also blends synergistically. Although it leaves a hole in the background of Goo Jin-Ki and Lim Tae-Moon's attachment, the storyline of this drama is quite up to the 9/10 rating standard.

Good job guys everybody involved surely can feel the excitement of this drama. I always like So Ji Sub and wished he was paired with Choi Ji Woo in this drama replacing Lim Soo Hyang. But she (Ms. LIM) is pretty good though.

Aren Nov 07 2024 4:06 am Currently in episode 4 and m like is the main lead actor bored of his character?there is no live and he seems like he is been drag to the production room, looks so tired. Storyline is so so except for that Jayden Lee character and his side kick Michael. The actress is good only for her surprise expression. The plot is so unbelievable even in a kdrama, someone going through such big trauma of losing his patient,his mom,his doctor lincence, jailed can't get his law degree that fast within 5 years!!! With new looks, latest car, high rise apartment with the designer clothes,.whereas when he was living with his mom they were living in such a small low middle class area!! It just don't sits well for me so will see if I finish it just for Jayden Lee

Park Min Mar 09 2024 10:14 pm You know they began to run out of ideas when they start to merge professions. It makes me wonder what might come next, but the entire law genre had plateaued, and coming up with new unexplored ideas got only more difficult. The entire hearts swapping operation at the beginning of the drama was flawed and didn't make any sense. Instead of giving us a cohesive storyline, we were left with this mishmash of abandoned subplots and forced plot turns that were hard to sell. You may expect a lot of highly implausible scenarios and you gonna nod your head and just accept it. Neither of the main leads brought any appealing character or performance making it difficult to empathize with their struggles or connect with their motivations.

May Dec 19 2023 10:22 am Currently on ep 7, I’m having such a hard time getting through this drama just because of the f-ing female lead! On top that her acting sucks, she has zero chemistry with SJS and just the whole character is annoying. How the hell do you have so little trust on the man you were about to marry?! You ask for the truth, he tells you the truth, shows you receipts and you still say he’s lying. Then Why Ask In The First Place!!?? I’ll probably take me a loooong time to finish this, I’ll keep watching just because I’m a fan of SJS but I’ll most definitely skip all the scenes with her and every member of the hospital … so basically I’ll skip 95% of the drama lmfao

VB Mar 22 2023 4:10 am I'm on episode 5...I like the plot. I love So Ji Sub anyway but there is no chemistry with his female lead. As a prosecutor and someone that trusted her fiance once, you'd think she would have checked that he actually did do what he was accused of. She is irritating.

Lee Kyoung Young is so good at being bad. You just want to hate him but his acting is flawless, as usual.

I'm enjoying it so far. I hope SJS will be in more dramas. I love his acting. I'm glad he's back.

Angela Vicente araujo Oct 24 2022 5:08 pm I have just finished to watch Doctor Lawyer. I felt like I was at the theather watching a tragedy. The dense atmosphere, , indoors scenes, we almost couldn’t see bright lights, the concise and meaningful dialogues , the horrible, misfortune facts that compound the tragedies. The main character Han Yi-Han (So Ji-Sub)is a good person who is suffering deeply due to an error he committed. He trusted, relied on his boss. We could follow his psychological struggle, his efforts to revenge, but he could not avoid his essence, he is a good person. So Ji-Sub’s performance was impeccable in involving us in his feelings. We followed the episodes with compassion and horror. Exactly as described in Aristotle’s Poetic. I have no doubt that Doctor Lawyer is going to be a Classical! What’s more I am really willing to see So Ji-Sub acting again amusing and enchanting performances as he did in unforgettable Master’s Sun, Oh My Venus and Terrius Behind Me! Congratulations!

She is perfectly fine, I saw her in the Graceful Family, she did awesome maybe her character in here is a bit boring compared to her role in others drama but we should blame the director not the actress, she did her best despite no chemistry between the lead (this one I agree)

He really fit the Jayden character and his character made me curious till the end of the story. He is good in carried the plot. I am waiting for his next project

But Jayden really is a scene stealer. His acting and confidence is on the next level. His english is kind of annoying tho? overall 7/10

Hope he practices more on speaking so that the character really fits him well. However, his acting never fails to amaze me. Hope this drama ends well without boring moments.

Ann Jun 27 2022 7:18 pm Soohyang's performance is lacking and is very unstable. She doesnt look confident and assertive... sometimes it looks like the director just gave up on her. The way She deliveries her lines is ankward too. Its kinda bad because all leads are amazing actors.

From epis 1-4 it was unberable to watch but later (5-7) She improved a bit... You can feel her into character for a few minutes. It still not good enough and I skip some of her scenes.

Unfortunelly, It was a miscast and it kinda became an issue to its storyline.

Im a kind of person who appreciates every single word when i watch drama coz i dont wanna miss everything especially when i already fell in love whith certain drama, but for Geum Seok Yeong i did skip some scene. As a girlfriend of Yi Han i couldn't find the chemistry then as a prosecutor its also hmm.. actually i hope her character can be more cool or charismatic but then i relize that this is not a prosecutor drama LOL

manily Jun 13 2022 10:19 am I finalt got a chance to see the 4 episode so far, but I think the hospital got the good Heart for transplant, and got another one with damage, he did the transplant and fix it, but he got drug so he can not make it on time to his b-i-l and then he was too late to help him, i this it was a damage heart and they keept the good heart for that VIP--that we do, not know who is that person... and why did he sign a document like that for all the things he has suffer and did that? OMG not good at all...let see what happend

Seokju gets transplant and end of transplant they congratulate him, then end of surgery they realize left ventricle is impaired but somehow magically he fixes I dont know how. Then he performs vip surgery at night and in morning seok ju is ill and dead. Then he gets kicked out of hospital and suddenly out of nowhere he knows he should look for that vip, even that is fine but from out of blue he says , oh hes the guy who took seok jus heart.. like what??? There was no scene to suggest that seokjus heart was taken, stolen or kind of anything. The only thing they show is autopsy saying his heart was damaged but nothing else that would say heart was taken. And why woukd the director even let the heart get transplanted in one patient if he has to remove it at night for another patient.

Mick Psyphon Jun 11 2022 4:38 pm It was obvious in episode #3 that Im Yoo-Na was a sleezebag; and that she would sleep her way to wherever she wanted to go. The fact that by episode #4 she's practically throwing herself at Jayden Lee speaks volumes!

Znftna Jun 11 2022 3:48 pm @kool I also don't understand it since, if seokju's heart was again removed after transplant then they would have to cut him again to remove it and insert the defected heart, so seokju's autopsy results should have shown that but didn't; that's why I'm also confused.
