Lena came to Korea dreaming of a new life. She meets Soon-Goo who is a farmer of green tea in the country. Lena slowly opens to Soon-Goo and Soon-Goo’s feelings for deepens.

Lena though has a secret. She feels sorry to him. Soon-Goo worries Lena might leave. Without knowing what the other person feels, their misunderstanding grows.

James kim Mar 01 2021 11:18 pm I'm watching it for second time now and i appreciate the subtle nuances of the movie. The slowness is deliberate and it draws us closer to the characters. Especially the main characters. They are two lonely people looking for compassion and comfort in this cruel world. Lena is so innocent and naive and thus brings us closer to the human side of this brilliant movie. It's sooo simple yet says lot about humanity and our every day lives.

VKG Aug 20 2020 1:06 am I just watched Dear Lena I wasn't sure of the ending, so I watched it again, don't like being confused, and definitely a fan of closer. My take is that she died, reasons coming to that conclusion; the memorial slide presentation, the husband bury artifacts and three names on the marker, and as one review stated the brightness on Lena's face. I also noticed as the husband was in the field picking tea leaves, he was gazing toward the sky alone. So that's just my one take on the ending. But I enjoyed the production. ?
