Onizuka (Akira) is sent as a temporary teacher to the high school he graduated from in Shonan, Japan. At the high school, he faces difficult problems including a high school student’s pregnancy and a student refusing to attend school. Onizuka's past is also revealed through people who knew him from his past.

Natsuyaki Aug 12 2021 2:57 am I love any GTO out there, if it's the 1989 version or the 2013 versions.

I love the manga, when i first saw the seasons 2 it was a bit of a getting used to. They did not really introduce the "new" actors/actrice as in season 1. Which made it hard to "feel" for the new students and Honami Fujikawa. Which i feel it was a "semi" replacement of Azusa Fuyuzuki. It's fine but introduce her properly which hints Honami as a "romantic" intrest for onizuka instead of "bam" here a look a like Azusa.

The story is not bad on this season, dealing with social issues etc. I felt that Onizuka was alot more emotional then in season 1. Always teary eyes etc, which is fine it highlights Akira potential in acting but yea.

Side note on season 1 and 2 getting confused of Hitomi Kuroki haha xD such a gorgeous woman haha. (since i prefer younger)

I really want them to remake the anime but dont think that is gonna happen.

The remake of this cast and producer is great, but sometimes i feel it lacking not only in the manga sense of "blood/violence/drugs/sex/blackmail/rape" (cause it's a real thing). I understand them going a much more "child" friendly version. I just expect onizuka to be more of a super human. Like the fight scenes could have done a lot better in my opinion. XD sometimes i see onizuka grab some one weapon and just randomly throws it on the floor screaming, im like whut? xD In the manga onizuka like breaks a helmet glass with his punch while semi dying from his blood clot in brain...i mean if thats not badd-ass i dont know what.

Some miss opportunities here and there, but over al i enjoy alot of this remake :D

Beyond realm May 06 2019 9:42 pm I don't understand why Kanzaki, Fuyutsuki, Aizawa and other Class 2-4 students are not in this season, I really miss them, Season 1 is still the best than season 2

Kanzo San Sep 25 2016 4:58 am I like this group way better than the first one. First season only had Doujima as the refreshing cool character. Kikuchi and Murai were good but they pale in comparison to their 1998 version. Tomoko and Noboru were awesome in the 1998 version too but they fail at making me care about them in the 2012 version. Anko and Miyabi look like twins. Kanzaki suck. I'm not convince with her genius role at all like how Kikuchi convinced me in the 1998 version. The only good thing about season 1 was Onizuka, Ryuuji and Saejima (and we got all of them in season 2). With season 2, the students look more different than each other. They are much easier to distinguish. I especially love episode 2 and 4. Very inspiring. Taichi is awesome. Each episode is different from the other unlike 2012 which feels like every episode is a suicide attempt.

Seriously, from the characters, casts, story, background, school, problems, directing skill, everything is inferior. To be honest, I'm disappointed by this one. I thought it'd be as great as the first season, I was wrong. I highly recommeded the first 2012 season than this 2014 season. A poor sequel.

There are no notable cool or cute students like Anko, Kanzaki, Miyabi, Kikuchi, Miki, etc. I forget almost every student in this 2014 season. Too generic, too standard.

But Onizuka is still great.

I prefer to watch this season as a "side-story" of GTO, Onizuka as a temporary teacher in Shonan, much like GTO in Taiwan (drama), or GTO Shonan 14-Days (manga).

I'm waiting for a "real" GTO sequel with the same casts and better director. I hope they'll make it some days.

Udo Jul 09 2016 6:44 am As a film lover, this second season is better than the first because of it's grounded storyline (hate the first season's ep10 & 11 story). A serious upgrade, properly executed, far more professional production, more natural acting even for Saejima. The cinematography is top-notch, full-length film level, surpassing the three specials. I rate the first season B-, second season A.

Blank Jun 16 2016 12:22 am For me this remake for GTO not that bad. As we know the GTO 2012 is more like BWAHHH and funny but for this GTO is very sad and touching story for the student. I really cry a lot in ep 2 the usami taichi (sano reo) story omg he so cuteee

I enjoyed listening to the Japanese language and felt I got a glimpse into the Japanese soul through the films. And of course the theme is very important in a time when there is a danger of loosing the soul of mankind. With my background I could not avoid to think that if one would include the perspective of reincarnation and karma a still deeper level and understanding what happens in our time could be reached. Thank you very much

Lee Sep 07 2015 7:15 pm This is so so bad in comparison to the previous season and the two SPs. Apparantly it's an amateur director, which most definitely shows. The stories are bad, the acting isn't great and the school kid characters are the worst part of all, this is NOT how any human being anywhere acts. They are like robots with bad programming. Real let down, there's not a single new character who has any draw or personality and even Onizuka's character has lost a lot of the spark he had in the previous releases due to poor poor POOR writing. Did i mention yet, the characters and writing are bad? because that's what they are, bad bad bad. Great thing turned in to something extremely poor. Unless you can take a character you have come to love being turned in to a cheapened shell of his former self, avoid this one and stop watching after the Graduation SP.

And there's something missing from Onizuka in this drama, his pervert personality. I don't know if there's any reason why this personality not shown, but it's looks like Onizuka isn't "wild" anymore.

guear Aug 10 2014 8:02 pm I pretty much agree with what others have said. This 2nd season is bad. I can't believe it gets 98 user ratings out of 200+votes here... The viewership in Japan drops to below 10%. I am not sure how accurate the wiki is, it says 15 episode this season but I think they should scrape it and cut it short.....

mixmi Jul 27 2014 11:01 am The switch between each scene of every episode so far is so fast that it makes me wonder if I missed something. Sometimes I feel as if I skipped something but didn't fast-froward at all. It also makes me think how GTO ends up at many places in each scene because they fast forward them so much. Even though the cases sound serious, none of them so far look serious...

I hope they do not ruin this version. Also hope the ratings do not suffer... But seriously, there is something wrong with this one.
