Lim Hyun-Joon (Lee Jung-Jae) is a popular actor. He specializes in playing detective characters, but he dreams of becoming master actor of melodrama. Meanwhile, Wi Jeong-Sin (Lim Ji-Yeon) is an ace reporter of politics and won a youngest reporter award. She becomes caught up in a big corruption scandal and loses her position in the politics department. She ends up being assigned to the entertainment department and tries to adjust there. Lim Hyun-Joon and Wi Jeong-Sin get involved with each other. They try to overcome their own prejudice and change gradually.

Ss Apr 16 2026 6:21 am Such a boring and tiring drama, such good actors but the drama is so much lacking, there was neither romance nor comedy, for me it failed to interest, waited for 12 episodes for it to get interesting but it was too dragging, with such lame plotline, it seemed like they wanted to cast lee jung jae in a melodrama but failed miserably - first the leads had such a huge age gap which was visible throughout, there wasnt a single percent pf chemistry, was hoping for second lead to have some solid plot and heat but that too lacked so scope, all four great actors failed to capture my attention in this loose, lacking, dragging melodrama

Lee Jung Jae is an art form to watch , every move ,every look is a perfection . He is outstanding in every drama , he makes you enter and experience the world he is creating for you through his role . Bravo. The female lead of course is also phenomenal. Love seeing famous seasoned actors appearing in small support roles too . Loved this drama .

Dania Jan 10 2026 8:18 am Hmmm this drama is fine but too draggy. They could finish it off with 12 eps or less. I like the plot but at the same time frustated by the delaying in confession. Unnecessary long for this kind of drama. The investigation to expose those villains also keep on being dragged. Overall, you may watch this but you may have pent up frustration of the length of the plot.

Jane Jan 09 2026 10:22 am January just started, and this drama has already become one of my favorites. I went in with zero expectations, but it turned out so good. It’s been a while since I watched a drama that had me grinning from ear to ear the entire time. There’s literally not a single boring moment.

The chemistry was overflowing, and honestly, if they were both single in real life, I’d be shipping them so hard. Would love to see LJJ do more romcom in the future.

Also, Detective Kang Pil Gu absolutely deserves his own series. I would 100% watch it. I’m really going to miss: “They say you can’t fix people, but I do.”

I don't understand the low ratings and think it's possibly due to lack of advertising on Amazon Prime video. I have thoroughly enjoyed the series! It is so funny and the acting is really terrific It is one of my favorite Kdramas this year.

Again I'm so disappointed in the break. I don't think the series needs any fixing - maybe just better promotion. It is really terrific!

Lee Nov 26 2025 1:01 am Just so you know, I honestly didn’t expect this series to be entertaining at first—their pairing felt a bit odd. But once I started watching, I couldn’t stop. It’s funny, surprisingly charming, and way more engaging than I expected. She’s secretly a fan, yet in front of the actor they bicker nonstop, which makes their dynamic even better. I can’t wait for the moment Lim Hyeon-Jun finally finds out she’s actually a fan.

They do mention she is 36 and that He is a middle aged man… it’s just that it’s not your cup of tea to see people with such age gap in romantic relationship but they do fit the ages they are supposed to be in the drama…, that’s why the directors find it funny that a middle aged man would want to be in melodrama/romcom movie

When he quit acting lets think his age is around 23-25, after 15 years he met the costar again and then started acting in Detective role, then it is mentioned that he acted in same role for 7 years in 4 seasons.
