4 years have passed since Ryohei Arisu (Kento Yamazaki) and Yuzuha Usagi (Tao Tsuchiya) completed the games in Borderland and they are now back in their world. They are married and live happily as a couple. One day, Yuzuha Usagi suddenly disappears. Led by a man named Ryuji, who obsessively researches about the afterlife, Yuzuha Usagi set off her own journey to Borderland. Ryohei Arisu becomes desperate. At that time, Banda (Hayato Isomura), who has become a citizen of Borderland, appears in front of Ryohei Arisu and informs him of his wife's whereabouts. Ryohei Arisu once again steps into Borderland and he risks his life to get Yuzuha Usagi back.

Stefan Apr 16 2026 9:30 pm Season 3 really sucks. The introduction of Ryuji, along with Usagi returning to Borderland with him, ended up hurting the overall story this season. Most of the time, I found myself only wanting to watch Arisu and his team.

Pascal Leers Oct 08 2025 4:45 am The first 3 episodes are great. Episode 4 is fine. Episodes 5 and 6 much less so. Especially the last episode dragged on and on. To the point I wanted to skip sections just to come to the conclusion.

Season 3 were always gonna be a miss or hit for this show, as the manga main source material kinda ended in season 2.

Season 3 seems to follow the short stories of "Retry" that came after the main manga ended where Arisu went back to Borderlands and have to fight to go back alive to Usagi and their child. They seem to have tweak this a bit as Usagi isn't part of that stories. Feels bit more plot holes as Usagi is part of the story now

NTR hater Sep 30 2025 7:52 am The only thing I dislike in Season 3 is Ryuji’s character. Disclaimer: there’s no NTR in this one and I’m sooo soo soo soo soooo glad that Arisu and Usagi stay together. However, the director still included a scene where Usagi hugs Ryuji, and Arisu sees it when he reunites with her, I was really annoyed by that.

Same thing in Season 1 and 2, the director still included the scene where Niragi licks Usagi, was that really necessary?

I like season 3 but it's a season of plotholes. Then again I understand as the manga ended in season 2 and this is an additional season without a manga or story to rely on much.

I just don't buy it that Usagi willingly went to borderline just because of her dad (uhm? What about your husband lol). I get it the guilt is there but how sure are you he is even there. I really hoped a joker card was utilized well as being a tricky card and that they were tricked not recruited that way lol. All in all I enjoyed the games. I Just wish I could watch Arisu team play the runaway team. I really like to know how they win it.

V Sep 28 2025 5:27 pm I love everything about this season except that they didn’t explain Ann’s character. Why did she remember the experience in the Borderland unlike the others. And she can even see Banda?? It left us hanging. Such a miss because Ann is a very interesting character. Everything else is great. Love all the games.

i read the manga and noticed that they kinda adapted the games for the season 3. the first game at the temple would be the first game arisu and his friends played when they first arrived at the borderland. for the zombie game card, i think they tweak for the game that chishiya played something about card and gun, though they are very different. and for the train game is the game that shibuki played when she first arrived but i think in manga one is more interesting, because it is a heart game, not diamond. as far as i remember, in the manga one person bound for one train each so they basically need to think and survive alone and there is no time limit. also, there is only 4 coach and they are given 3 cartridge and one of the coach got poison gas. there are 3 people including shibuki and shibuki doesnt use the cartridge in 3rd coach, intending to die while others used them for all the three coaches. so for last coach shibuki advance with a cartridge and survive till the end while the others are too scared to advance because they ran out of the cartridge. this is where it got interesting, turns out the poison gas was in the last coach and the other guys cannot move forward because they ran out of the cartridge and they are sure that if they enter the last coach they would die. so they are going to ride the train until they die since there is no time limit or maybe until their visa expired. i liked this game so much and how it is executed that i remember it clearly than others games. also there is a game where arisu played at the hotel tower i think, a quiz game which i hoped they could bring it to life but unfortunately didnt.

Sep 26 2025 5:55 am arisu had a reason to go back because of usagi, but usagi? i dont understand why she came back, he's father is clearly not there. it's very ironic that she doesn't want to come back but her reason for coming back was unreasonable at all. and as for ryuji, i dont understand either why he wants to drag usagi to land of death, like for what reason?? he's crazy out of his mind. the plot was all over the place, the reason for them coming back and going there weren't solid. my question though are those who choose to be citizens also die in real world? what state are they in real life?

Giovanni from Italy Sep 20 2025 9:17 am thought the ending was definitive. Nothing suggested a 3rd season. But now i'm happy to know it.1st and 2nd were even dubbed in italian, as well as all Squid Game seasons, which is very rare for a series from East Asia
