During the summer in the present day, Jeon Yeong-Ha (Kim Yun-Seok) runs a vacation cottage located deep in the woods. His peaceful life is shaken by the sudden appearance of a mysterious woman named Yoo Seong-A (Go Min-Si).

In the early 2000's, Koo Sang-Jun (Yoon Kye-Sang) ran the same vocation cottage as Jeon Yeong-Ha did years later. Koo Sang-Jun and his family also lived there, but, during the summer, something happened at his vacation cottage and Koo Sang-Jun lost everything because of that. At that time, Yoon Bo-Min (Lee Jung-Eun) worked as a police officer at the nearest police substation from the vacation cottage. 20 years later, Yoon Bo-Min is transferred to the same police substation where she worked before and she begins to work there as the chief. She enjoys solving things and begins to observe Jeon Young-Ha closely.

nabella Feb 26 2026 11:09 pm I finally finished watching this drama after a year on my watchlist lols. give it try watch until ep3 finally for me the storyline got me hooked and intense reaction. in my opinion, the drama itself has so many potential to be great (perfect) but sometimes it has some plot hole and for the characters.. i kinda still can accept it with their flaws decision making (yeah annoying with their behaviors but for me it’ll keep the thrill and chilly) … maybe i’m crazy but c’mon it still fiction. all cast members were great especially go min-si!! her acting is so intimidating me so much!! lastly, i love the cast for (teen) koo gi-ho the boy very much lookalike with his adult self (chanyeol)

seun Jan 01 2025 7:18 am this series has never been on my list but i gave it a go. this was the most annoying, disturbing and disgusting crime thriller series!! i would still recommend this series cause the ending beats my hates for the characters but you would find its really, really, really, annoyed when you watching it!!

youngha character was so dumb and coward.

seong a the psycho, crazy, annoying, stupid character was actually the most coward in this series. she got the guts to kill but geomnaaaa terrified when she was trapped. it was kind of satisfying to see her getting all the scared face when:

1. the guests came and she was kicked out by the police 2. yeongha brought the gun 3. met her ex husband 4. almost got killed when she burned down the laundromat 5. when the husband was meant to shoot her, luckily he did!!!

still, this series quite ok.

watcher Dec 23 2024 9:07 am currently on 2nd episode and the drama is pissed me off because of the glasses old man's part. And not helping the pace is so slow, made me even more pissed off. If you are patience enough unlike me and could empathized with the old man maybe you will like, if you are like me, you will end up pissed with the story.

Lee Anne Sep 18 2024 12:06 am Intriguing and well-acted, but the way the rental owner handled things didn't make sense at all. He didn't bother to warn his daughter about there being a psycho killer who has threatened to kill her and knows where she works, and has even been there. He couldn't even do something basic like getting a lock for the door to his private dwelling. The psycho killer just came and went into his room whenever she liked.

rins Sep 16 2024 5:56 am currently on episode 7, and i honestly cannot recommend this drama. the acting and cinematography is good but the plot itself is…really bad. as others have said, there are just so many plot holes. the decisions made by the characters make no sense, and in fact, make them incredibly unlikeable.especially the main character yeongha - you question all his irrational decisions, or in his case indecision, and he basically puts the lives of innocent people at risk. by the end, i was hoping go minsi’s character would kill him.

this drama requires A Lo6 of suspension of disbelief. you’ll basically want to rip out your hair at all the stupid decisions made throughout if you come into this drama with a rational mindset.

The story has too many holes, but let's just try to enjoy it as a fantasy show, do not think too much.

Without any spoiler, one thing I can say is the acting of Go Min-si is really top notch. She could turn herself into a very scary character. I think, she is the main attraction of the show.

Miju Sep 07 2024 1:39 am There’s too many illusion and dreaming scene, suddenly take aggressive action and few seconds later go back to reality, it’s tired to watch. And when a character is saying or doing something important the edit always cut it at that point, maybe they think this will make the audience urge to know the answer, but no this will only decrease the tension and makes the episode no climax.

Oh Han Byeol Aug 29 2024 5:31 pm The show is great but it's a bit stretched to fit 8 eps. It's typical for thriller so I can't complain. Storyline can be confusing for the first 5 episodes then after EP 6, it all started to connect. There are some plothole but it didn't ruin my experience.

Go Min Si really did a good job as a psychopath. I wanna see her more in this type of character.

Nadia Aug 29 2024 7:30 am I think the story is great. Keeping your heart race and somehow this kind of drama is like the old times, when there still a lot of great thriller movies. The acting is fabulous. Go Min Si nailed the character. I really can feel the emotion, yet hate her in that phsycopath character. Maybe those who hate this drama are people, who always think about logic /illogical. They forgot that somehow, somewhere this kind of story do exist. you'll never know.

I can’t really say I hated it but I didn’t love it either, just all the stupid decisions made in this drama pissed me the hell off. Acting was phenomenal, to the point that I wanted to enter the screen and strangle that b**ch myself, so I guess I can say she nailed it. Moral of the story: Dont Be Stupid And Just Report A Crime If You Witness It Or Have Enough Evidence, Dont Freaking Clean It And Cover It Up!!!!!! Dumbass...

Oseyemi Aug 25 2024 6:58 pm I don't get why you guys are giving bad reviews about the movie. The series is topnotch, though I also felt it should have been shorter than that. I think my favorite part was how it ended. Where everything got settled eventually, no stupid open ending to make me feel somewhat. All in all, I give it a 8 out of 10. And I also like roh yoon seon character in this movie. The way she fought Go min si and protected her baby till the end.

It's a slow burn mystery/thriller so you can skip this if you expect constant excitement and screams LOL. Admittedly, very slow start but it really picks up on Ep 3 and 4.

Go Min-si was fantastic as a psychotic serial killer and i found myself both hating and being drawn to her character.

Half way through i thought id missed something, but no, it was all explained in a fabulous manner. Amazing cast and very clever storytelling. Excellent Korean thriller!

So, each episode of The Frog begins with one of the characters uttering the famous philosophical thought experiment: “If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?”

I started watching this show thinking that both murders happened from different timeline are related; could be done by the same seriel killer, because it is so easy to hide your nasty work in such a remote place. When it ended, I think this is just accidentally similar murders happened in the same place with different timeline by two different unrelated murderers who both enjoy decapitated their victims.

In the old timeline, the male killer killed a female guest of the motel and got into the prison, while in the current timeline, the female murderer is not just satisfied killing her underage stepson and disposed his body somewhere in the lake near the motel, she also killed a policeman and cut his body into two. She is just a plain psycho who enjoy killing. The only satisfaction is Chanyeol's character (the son of the previous owner) got his revenge and the current owner of the motel help him clean up his mess.

Lee Jung Eun's character as the chief detective is not satisfying enough, well after her fine performance in Miss Night and Day. Her character only shined enough in the final episode.

If a tree falls in a forest, will it make a sound, or will there be only silence? In the end, the saying is kind of related to the psycho's missing stepson; because nobody knows what really happened to the boy.

yun-ah Aug 24 2024 4:40 am at first i thought it will be bored especially because the pace in first and second episodes are slow, but after that the series become more and more interesting. many parts i really felt the goosebumps, and not to mention the unexpected ending like..... wow! kudos to the writernim, director and all of the cast (their acting are sooo good, especially go minsi)
