High school student Han Tae-O (Lee Jae-Wook) first met Kang In-Ha (Lee Jun-Young) as a classmate at his new high school. Han Tae-O comes from a dark background. His father killed his wife, which caused Han Tae-O to be mocked by people. In contrast to Han Tae-O, Kang In-Ha comes from a wealthy chaebol family who runs the Kango Group. Nevertheless, Kang In-Ha is an illegitimate child and he is looked down upon by his own family. Although Kang In-Ha and Han Tae-O come from completely different backgrounds, they have certain things in common. Due to this, they became friends. Now, as adults, Kang In-Ha wants to ascend to the throne at Kango Group and Han Tae-O wants to succeed in life. To achieve his goal, Han Tae-O decides to make Kang In-Ha's dream come true. Meanwhile Na Hye-won (Hong Su-Zu) is a smart and beautiful young woman, but her life isn't easy due to the debts that her mother caries. She gets involved with Han Tae-O and Kang In-Ha.

Jane Nov 21 2025 2:24 am I hated this drama with all my heart. They should have kept Inha and Tae Oh's friendship intact until the end, rather than the other way around. These two could have had the best bromance ever, but they ruined it. As a fan of Lee Junyoung I'm so disappointed. I had to watch it at 2x speed because I just couldn't wait for it to end. Na Hyewon's acting is neither the worst nor the best. Hye Ju should have been cast as the female lead.

If you still are not convinced he’s excellent, take a look at his Netflix show Alchemy of Souls. An excellent drama, where he’ll make you love him with all your heart.

idontcare Jul 26 2024 11:07 am This is one of the reasons I started to falter away from kdrama. I watched this drama coz of an FMV about having good bromance. The drama started good, they had their goals, they are loyal, they are both good people. I thought the writer would keep it like they're gearing towards a victory ending with each other having different paths but towards the same end. But no, cannot imagine the writer created a villain out of a good character, that must be horrible. For the longest time, he just wanted to be accepted in the family and I thought Tae-Oh would make it possible for him. But the writer made In-ha looks like he just wanted the power and the prestige out of his family. Like what????? For so many years, he's a good person longing for a family, then suddenly in the struggle, he will kill for power and money??? No way! Killer is built out of hatred, vengeance, violence unless they are psychotic, but with his jolly character and being surrounded by good friends, he cannot be psychotic. He was used by his wife, his only friend didn't keep his promise, and a sister that turns away from him when everything falls apart, from beginning to the end, he was the victim. The main lead and main FL are fit for each other, they are both deceivers and just used a person to gain power. Characters are badly written, it could have a good storyline but ruined by bad writing, the rating is soooo d**n right.

A good actress could have killed with this part. Bad childhood, greedy mother that uses you, because of your looks a way to move up and out of the bottom of society. Her choosing money over love, because of her past.

The male leads were excellent. The supporting cast were all good.

As far as the strange behavior of InHa, I think because he was always abandoned in his youth and seeing his mother’s death, he couldn’t believe someone could love him. It’s too bad because his friends did love him if only he could trust that and let his friend help him heal.

I enjoyed the storyline although I did guess a few of the outcomes, my only question was Kang In-ha’s motive for turning against his friend. I know there was rivalry and one up man ship behind some of In-ha’s actions but there was no sound reason for doing what he did when he could have continued to work towards his goal with Tae-O? Apart from that it was a very good drama ?

Reading all the bad comments about the female leads acting is just so disappointing, like seriously have you guys stopped to think about what kind of role the writers and directors wanted her to portray?... Like they kind of gave the female lead a twisted character to portray like her role was basically Someone who had gone through a bad childhood due to her mother and she was already broken to the point where couldn't allow anything to faze her anymore but had to muster up the courage to choose romance over her ambitions only to be turned away by the male lead when she did. You guys should blame the storyline and directing not the actors. The story is nice but there are just too many parts of it that make you annoyed... If the writer wanted to save this drama, they should have changed the male leads love interest to the second female lead cos that kinda made more sense and I really didn't like the fact that they turned the 2nd male lead into a villain. In his previous dramas, LJW always acted alongside experienced actresses, but now he's working with a rookie. It's clear that he can't elevate this drama, especially since the storyline of "The Impossible Heir" seems messy.

sf Mar 21 2024 10:40 am After the kiss, the bride didn't get any punishment. She is the daughter-in-law of a wealthy family and the CEO of a society, her actions not even her husband knew about. Strangely, her husband filmed her kiss with Tae-o, but he doesn't know that his wife has visited Tae-o in prison twice. I would not be surprised if Hye-Won worked with In-ha to eliminate Tae-o from the picture.

Also, didn't the killed brother know her affair... so it is possible she is the one who staged the murder or used Tae-O to "have an affair" so her husband will get rid of him? Both of these would be interesting scenarios.

wnnny Mar 21 2024 3:30 am I watched up to ep 8, I think the storyline is quite similar to Reborn Again. However, the role of Na Hye-Won seems unnecessary here.

Han Tae-Ho is doing fine until he has a good time i.e. kissing Na Hye-won which destroys the storyline.

If Na Hye-Won is smart, she would not ask Han Tae-Ho to help her 'control' the Kangoh group during her visit to the prison, she is greedy and only loves herself.

I think Han Tae-Ho is Chairman Kang Joong-Mo's illegitimate son, which could make him the impossible heir so that Na Hye-Won cannot realise her greed.

Also, Kang In-Ha is the murderer of his brother Kang In-Ju.

I will be fo the last 2 episodes and watch it. That might help get back my curiosity into what happened from ep 4 until the last ep. Hahaha I like Lee Jae wok's acting on his previous work. In my own opinion the story and character didn't fit him. Lee Jun Young I watched his most recent movie Brave Citizen. He is effective as a villain. FL as I mentioned she is unnecessary to the story ML and SML already have a strong story. It seems like they put the FL to add tension to the story but it didn't at all. It made this drama like other revenge dramas. What is new????

chynox Mar 18 2024 7:41 pm i have high hope because of the ML and it resemble Reborn Rich, but i was so disappointed. The story stale. The time jump make the series sucks. ML and FL intimate scene is not attractive, they make like the 15years ago memories like 3 months ago. The chemistry between all main character is nowhere to be seen. The story stale but it moving too fast and it does not correlate. It try to be thrill and suspense, but i can't feel it. The only good i can see maybe the acting of Kang Joong Mo.

He has starred as a villain for an unhealthy amount of time. Watched 3 of his projects this year alone and he was a villain in all three One single scandal and his career is done for.

I hope his manager or management team sees this.

This doesn't mean I would not keep on supporting him though.

Robot girl Mar 14 2024 2:56 am It seems inha is the main villain. If we see there was always a weord camera focus on Kang inju's secretary whose ass he busts with a baseball bat, it was made to look like he was han tae oh's plant but now it turns out foucs was on him bevause he Inha's plant.

Inha is just an insincere dishonest person who needed tae oh to get into chairman's affinity. To him tae oh was just a stepping stone he needes for his higher goal which he wasn't able to achieve on his own and tae oh amde it possible. Tae oh to him is disposable and he doesn't need him. What doesn't make sense is where that strong hatred for tae oh is coming from in his heart.

Also if we see Inha always seemed like a jerk towards tae oh which really makes one wonde rif tae oh is so smart why he never saw through him and even that pathetic girl hye won.

Also it seems he was the one who sent hye won's mom after her to harass her and when he hugged her after that his face was so weird.

Inha is the vilest, cruelest and crappiest person of all. So he uses his ususal tactic given his nature to make the deal work and dad puts him in place, he sees hlw his dad's thinking is so much alike with tae oh's and he gets his jealousy fits and decides to send his pet to beat him up.

Maybe inha blocks investigation because he was scared of getting it revealed or he knew tae oh is smart and will figure out it is inju's man and he will threaten him. In either case he finds out tae oh knows about the attacker and then he plans the next step.

I think Inha already had murders of his brothers planned out, he just needed scenarios and here he used tae oh for it. Either this or he went that extreme to remove tae oh completely. But the fact it shows is Inha is so scummy that he can go as far as this and even his father would find out.

Dunnk what is hye won's deal, what is purpsoe of he character and what will she do or has done. Does she want some revenge from chairman because he ruined her life in the past.

Maybe Inha doesn't care about chairman's psoition or inheriting business, he just hates his father for abandoning him and this is his revenge plan to take over the business and destroy it and destroy and shame his father.

Maybe Inha's actual target is his dad and everyone else including taeoh is just collateral damage to him and he doesn't even care about them.

Everything is a mess, the plot, the storyline, the consistency, the drama, the power struggle, and the cheaters. Nothing makes this drama interesting any longer. Every episode has become a disappointment for such an avid fan of kdrama of more than 21 years like me. I will continue watching it and see it till the end, but the director and writer do disappoints me most.

Alok Mar 13 2024 5:11 pm After Ep.6 My Opinion:- i might be wrong but I think Kang In-Ha will be the Villain in this drama he is the one who ordered to hit Han Tae-O (but because its Kang In-Ju secretary Han Tae-O assumed it'll be Kang In-Ju) because he knew that both Han Tae-O & Na Hye-Won still like each other & that's why it must be him who sent Na Hye-Won's mother to her to remind her that it's only Kang In-Ha who can help her financially so that she won't change her mind to marry him... and also with that photo Kang In-Ju would have blackmailed Kang In-Ha/Na Hye-Won or tried to take advantage of Na Hye-Won and in the end Kang In-Ha/Na Hye-Won have killed him & must be trying to put blame on Han Tae-O...

So she loves this guy, and look at her state of concern, ep 6 taeoh wakes up abd she walks into room, sees other girl in room, ignores that guy is a serious patient, is a love of her life, doesn't have to be disturbed instead starts raging at this girl, she even sees he has woken up from a serious coma and last thing he needs a fight in his room but she starts fighting with the girl, even girl tells her won't you ask how is he doing but she ignores and eaisly says more imp than that is what are you doing here when it was the least imp thing given state of tae oh. Then inha walks and girl tells him oh I need to call the doctor, like are you guys clown he woke up form ocma, instead kf rushing tk call doctor she casually telks the guy after 5 minites I am calling doctor as he has woken up, even then heeju had no concern with the fact he has woken up and beeds urgent care she is just concerend with het petty b.tchy fight. As if her stalking wasn't annoying enough now this.

Then next we see doctors come running in to check him like it was something major but his friends are like more interested in fighting.

Kang tae ju Mar 13 2024 1:35 pm Female lead excels in robotic technology. Lee jae wook is just copying acting style of previous actors who have done such roles and his voie tone sounds extremely funny the way he talks in a calm tone, can't take him seriously. Even Junyoung's voice tone and acting is same as lee jae wook but since he has less important role he doesn't that funny or stand out much. Both guys need to work on their acting. Lee jae wook has been be mediocre good in past roles but he has potential, but this role his acting is very caricaturish, just doing what veteran actors did is not enough you need to know how and when to emote like senior chairman actor is doing. It would have been better had lee jae wook and inha had used their natural talking tones in the drama instead of that sleepy lullaby kind of tone to sound intellectual.

In ep 5 at 26:13 when jun young makes that long throaty sound, it wasn't needed.

It looks like inha has been trying to sabotage tae oh.

Did someone notice the hacker guy's voice being weird at restaurant? Scene editings in that scene was very bad like camera would suddenly keep focusing on him at different angles like it is jumping it was so annoying and top of it how his voice was playing, it seems they had dubbed his voice or something done to his voice in that scene, when he says one sentence, before he finishes it next sentence starts or starts with a weird break, like someone said those dialogues in seperate recordings and someone put them together. Maybe he had to talk in north korean accent and he couldn't or there were some issues and this is how production team made up for it with weirdest dubbing. This is the quality of disneyplus dramas.

The plot is convoluted and rushed. I don't know why they are trying shoehorn the female into the plot when she doesn't belong or they haven't set up the plot to make her role compelling. Both lead male characters fall in love with her and it makes know sense why other than they just fall for her very quickly. This drama could have been so much better if it focused on the two male leads getting revenge and rising up with intelligent and ruthless skills. Instead, we get terrible writing and a female lead who can't act and has a useless role. I hope Lee Jae Wook will pick better projects in the future.

They are playing with us. Every character is very confusing. I was more concern to inha and hui ju and I didn't even like the character of han tae oh. This is just my opinion so sorry not sorry.

They unnecessarily added female lead just for adding a female character and on top of it made it so annoying to use the character as a common romantic interest between 2 guys who prolly later will have a fight on her.

Is it me or it feels like lot of plotlines are missing in the drama? Like 2 guys just met, becane friends in an instant then suddenly this guy promises to make him a ceo or whatever for apparently no good reason then even promises to dedicate his life to him, then suddenlt he enters uni suddenly he parachutes into kang oh suddenly he becomes chairman's right hand man out of nowhere. Like it seems so much is missing and it is like scenes and scenarios are just changing without developing.

Jun young is a good actor, lee jae wook is also not bad but they both have no chemistry, their acting seems average not because they are doing a bad job but because drama seems to be written so amateurishly or childishly, it is so basic and poorly written that it is wasting both the actors. Only chairman actor is shining because he is so darn good and talented that even a bad script can't hurt him.

I won't even sya the show has potential because it is a remake of same old chaebok story dranas specially reborn rich, but they could have made it better with good script. Ifeel bad for 2 male leads how their talents are wasted.

Taeoh's character has been written so predictably and with such weak lines that when you see taeoh with serious face on screen you feel it is a comedy because scenes like these have been done so much.

Either disney plus makes poir script dramas and when they make good dramas they waste half of the drama in flashbacks, like 1st ep will be in present then next 5 episodes will be flashbacks which will give you ehadache then they will come to interesting storyline of present by which time you would ahve almost given up on drama. Like moving and shop for killers had so much flashbacks.

I dunno who chooses script for disney but they seem to pick specially poorly written scripts, even filler dramas, dramas that korean tv channels air just to fill the slots have better and organized scripts than many disney shows.

I was so excited for this show but now well.

The guys plotting revenge, then the girl appears and everything is about her? I am sitting in front of the TV for revenge and bromance, not for a shitty love triangle, where my boys are betraying each other for a woman. Please, it's so cliché! I don't even understand, what they like about her. So far, we know nothing about the the fl, but that she is miserable, and pretty. That's all. And such a complex character as Tae Ho should not fall in love with a shallow fl like her. Hui Ju is much more complex, and at least you can see some characteristic traits in her. And it's just my shallow opinion, but an aloof, serious guy, who does not want anything for himself, a girl like Hui Ju, who could give him anything what he is lacking (joy, love, appreciation...) would be much better. She could make him whole, she could make him realize of the other side of things. Meanwhile the fl is just poor girl whose ambition is to get together with a rich guy?

On the side note: Where is the plotting? Will we see anything what the boys are planning, or it will stay in the background, and we will only see when the plan is done? They didn't do well to engage the viewer with the first episode. Jumping from brats who beating each other up to best friends, then they are college students, who are already doing some things behind the curtain, but you can't be sure what, then comes the girl, and everything is about her. AND it's nonsensical that she wants Tae Ho to help her use In Ah! It's a whole bullshit! And why would Tae Ho help her in the first place? Their revenge and goal is quite sensitive, and just trusting a third nobody for her pretty eyes is stupid. They can never know, whatever she would betray them.

So, right now I am waiting for more episodes to air, because I like Jae Wook's acting, I don't want to give up on his work. Hopefully, it will turn out better, than what it is right now.

The only think making me feels weird is the girl. She is nowhere near the lives of the 2 guys, however when Tae Ho saw her with affection, In Ha feels the needs to have her. The story is so disconnected, like there is no story build up at all.

Fred Mar 03 2024 5:12 pm No sure if you guys are watching the drama backwards or forward. The Two male leads are bound to fall out. You can already tell Han Tao had a deeper aim he's hiding. How can you make your dream helping someone else if there's nothing in it for yourself. The FL to isn't in it for love. Her facial expressions should be cold and stiff as it is to buttress this point. You can tell both she and Han are sacrificing a part of themselves to help Kang In-ha succeed but it is definitely also for themselves. Atleast, for now, the female lead seems to be direct about it. Deciding to marry In-ha (dating him ) was her way of being close to wealth. Her expressions and acting are strong and apt. Showing too much emotions is a vulnerability that she and Han Tao simply can't afford. They are in an emotional chokehold and nothing could be certain of their emotions at the moment. Romance unfortunately is part of the story but I like how it's not the primary focus.

I've only seen 2 episodes on Disney+ but she's doing a good job, a poor but ambitious and conniving girl who wants to move up in the world. It's not a Meryl Streep role, her acting is fine. What I found very unrealistic was how quickly the two MLs became friends after 1 fight. After a lunchroom fight that violent, and it escalated much more quickly than reality, they would be sworn enemies for a long time, at least until episode 8 or so, you know, around the time of the first kiss. The young sister is the best character on the show so far, she's great! I'm excited to see where this plot goes, and enjoy watching ALL the cast members.

The FL could have been more of a support gal to the two ML’s rather than a love interest. I want to see more scenes with the two MLs getting closer to each other as friends and having deep convos + relying on each other. It would have been best if they casted a FL with more facial expressions for sure. The FL now is good I guess, but I’ve never seen her until this drama so maybe that’s why I’m not used to her. I think tae oh is related to Kang family since he said his father in jail is not his birth father. The teasers are misleading even the first episode was misleading. The drama is not as good as they showed. The romance is ughh cringeworthy and forced. I understand where they wanted to go with FL but it is poorly executed. Not to mention her acting. There so many low budget but good actresses even new comers or idol actresses who could have been give a chance. But i don’t think good acting can save a poorly written female lead.

You don't hate her acting , you despise the notion that her character reflects a bold, cold, redemption, and unapologetic aura. Her environment and traumas might have shaped her idgaf attitude and desperation to escape the vicious circle. Of course, society doesn't care when boys are selfish and use others but condemns girls even for having that mindset. Inha liked Hye Won because he saw that Tae O began to notice her. His possessiveness of his friend Tae-O(whom he loves) and coveting of what his friend wants led to the triangle. You'd not be chatting much if her character was naive, loyal, a people pleaser, and humble. You guys can't stand proletarian girls being portrayed as arrogant, confident, self-centered and ambitious but similar characteristics coming from rich girls are praised and normalized. Though her acting can indeed be improved like everyone else's because it's a work in progress. Plus, we haven't seen her in a lot of dramas. Give her a chance to show up and rise. This tradition of pick-me girls throwing tantrums over a female main lead is overused and weak. Some of you are merciless to female cast over a little discomfort or inconvenience. The storytelling and acting performance is superb. If the drama occupied your mind and kept you wondering and talking about it, would that indicate a flop? I think not.

Chey Feb 28 2024 2:28 pm Indeed! Lee Jae Wook is carrying the show, even the actor playing the Chairman is bleh. I'm getting Reborn Rich vibes . Also, the female lead seems unnecessary in this drama. Hope I'm wrong but I'll still give this drama a chance. I know Jun Young is the villain here so I can't wait how this will pan out. Crossing my fingers that this drama will be worth watching.

His acting is top notch, as for the others, I honestly don't understand the female lead's deal, she's so stupid and annoying, gives me two faced vibes. I will keep watching only because of LJW, the female lead has moments where she's not convincing in her role and I cannot ship her with her any of the male leads. I hope for a character development for her, otherwise she's a waste of space in this script.

Nabi Feb 28 2024 11:12 am I enjoyed the first two episodes but the love triangle/chemistry is not giving!!! I really like Jaewook and Junyoung but I'm not familiar with the female lead. I'll give it a chance and see how the story goes.
