Noh Ki-Jun (Lee Dong-Wook) works for a product development team at an insurance company. He seems like a perfect guy with both qualifications and expertise, but he has married three times and divorced each time. His soul and wallet both suffered significantly because of the divorces. He has conviction though and proudly reveals his divorce history despite any possible prejudices. In an era when divorce rates are skyrocketing, Noh Ki-Jun decides to develop an insurance policy for divorce, with the idea that a divorce is an unexpected disaster in a person's life. He sets up a divorce insurance team, with Kang Han-Deul (Lee Joo-Bin), An Jeon-Man (Lee Kwang-Soo), Joh Ah-Young (Chu So-Jung) and Jeon Na-Rae (Lee Da-Hee) joining the team.

Kang Han-Deul works as an underwriter whose job is to review insurance contracts. She has lived for a long time believing in patience, but, after her divorce, she decides to live differently. An Jeon-Man is a safety first man with a prudent and cautious personality. He works as a risk surveyor, whose job is to suggest accident prevention measures and effective insurance programs. He joins the divorce insurance team, which is the biggest adventure of his life. Joh Ah-Young works as loss adjuster. She is generally against marriage. Jeon Na-Rae is a financial mathematician. She divorced as soon as she returned from her honeymoon, due to different values between her and her ex-husband. She has never regretted a choice or decision that she has made. She joins the divorce insurance team as a special advisory quantitative analyst.

Kate Jun 07 2026 11:14 am I loved this kdrama series and would rewatch it. I always had to keep going to the next episode, because I loved being in their world. Its hilarious, touching, with mega character chemistry!! Acting was spot on. I loved all the unique characters and how they all came to be a unit. Life can be so amazing with the right people in it. Ive enjoyed all of the lovely individual settings and stories. Everyone felt like family and true friends for me personally after awhile. I have watched all of these actors in many different types of roles. Ive see over 800 kdramas. Its all I watch. Nothing will ever be as good as them to me!! I love S.Korean culture. The best thing about them is they are deep and profound, even if they are hilarious as well. I always learn so much about life and people through them .Im so happy I watched this. 10/10 and 5 stars for sure.

sol Jun 05 2025 2:50 pm it’s a casual lighthearted watch and its not as bad or as boring as it’s made out to be. some of the humour is exaggerated and the chemistry lacked a little but its sometimes a bit emotional and the divorcees stories are interesting to watch. i wouldn’t say its the most terrible drama ever. 5/10

Theresa May 29 2025 5:13 pm As a longtime Lee Dong Wook fan, I initially started The Divorce Insurance for him - and I’m so glad I did! I admit the first episode felt a bit offbeat, and I wasn’t immediately drawn to the humour or setup. But as the story unfolded, I found myself genuinely impressed by the depth and emotional resonance behind its unique premise.

The show tackles the idea of divorce not as a failure, but as a reflective process where couples can understand themselves better and choose paths that lead to true happiness - whether that means staying together or parting ways. I loved how each character had their own journey, especially how the team members and the four divorcees found renewed purpose and hope by the end. The final scenes, from the tarot card callback to the questionnaire with new answers, wrapped things up with a comforting and uplifting message.

This drama may not have had high ratings, but it has heart, meaning, and a surprisingly hopeful take on love and life. I really appreciate Lee Dong Wook’s calm, grounded performance - it brought a lot of sincerity to the role. Definitely worth watching with an open mind!

ade May 17 2025 11:24 am Good premise, poor execution. It’s a shame to see such a talented cast go to waste. For me, the comedy doesn’t work because it tries too hard to be funny, which makes it feel forced rather than natural. The timing is off, the jokes are predictable, and the script seems more focused on delivering punchlines than on building genuine, relatable moments. 3/10

dudong May 06 2025 1:51 pm It was so fun in very first episodes, but later the plot is becoming boring and boring. Obstacles of the plot is quite easy to solve in just 1 episode and not interested at all. It seem the series was set-up for 16 or 20 episodes, not 12, all happen very quick and so that we have poor characters development. The main couple is boring, the side couple is give me a lot of hope first but quickly turn me down. The most memoriable thing about this drama is the story of Ah-young and Woong-sik, the chemistry is so good and they so cute but too sad that they don't have much screen time. The story of married couple (tarot reader & photographer) is even more interesting and meaning than main couple. I don't know exactly why but it seem this drama have very bad script, bad characters, bad plot regardless really promising ideal

Hana Apr 28 2025 10:42 am I'm going to be honest here, the main leads have no chemistry. You couldn't even call them platonic friends. All the situations seem exaggerated and all over the place.

I do like the second couple who seem to have more chemistry together in the sense of an odd pairing. So really just watching for them.

Then the manager and the other girl, I don't even know why they are there.

Crea Apr 22 2025 4:22 pm OK, I tried to like this show by watching 4 whole episodes, but this show boring and bland. Its also full of troupes and just poorly acted. There is NO chemistry between any of the couples, not one ounce. And the FL is stuck on that one annoying facial expression of deer in headlights at ALL times. It's too technical with insurance policy b.s, that when it tries to be funny, it's not.

But what I like is Jo Ah Young character. Her situations makes me laugh a lot. Hope to see her in more dramas

ordinary man Apr 18 2025 1:17 pm something weird with this series was the script or the writer. yeah just like some weird dialogues, some weird situation, just weird. i mean how dong wook comes with this project after he saw this writing is so weird even from the episode 1 when he just finished his last shoping killer series. and when i see the ratings now, the rating itself sometimes give you a picture about how worth the time you spend with it.

dewyed Apr 14 2025 9:42 pm I was wondering why the ratings of this show dipped a lot from such a promising start (disclaimer: I still watch it and it's probably still top of my list pending Haunted Palace premiering), and this is what I came up with: 1) the trailers/ promo seemed to promise something hilarious with lots of laughs, but what came was a more serious, adult comedy with real people problem (nothing wrong with that, but probably people in Korea prefers something more escapist); 2) Lee Joo Bin is a good actress, but maybe not quite female lead material yet (especially in a comedy). She is outshined by the comedic talents and experience of Lee Dong Wook, Lee Kwang Soo, Lee Da Hee and Kim Won Hae, and that is detrimental to the show as she is in most scenes.
