Plot

"Hellhound 2" begins with the resurrection of Jung Jin-Soo (Kim Sung-Cheol) and Park Jung-Ja (Kim Shin-Rok). Min Hey-Jin (Kim Hyun-Joo) continues her fight against Saejinrihwe and The Arrowheads. The secret group Sodo appears that opposes Saejinrihwe. They are led by a mysterious man (Yang Dong-Geun).

Based on the webcomic series "Jiok" written by Yeon Sang-Ho and illustrated by Choi Kyu-Seok (first published August 25, 2019) via comic.naver.com/webtoon.
Actor Yoo Ah-In will not appear in the sequel as Jung Jin-Soo and is replaced by Kim Sung-Cheol.

May Apr 18 2025 1:44 am First season was better. In 2nd season too many long dialogues in circles. Makes you bored. But the lead actress looks good in the action scenes looking tough becomes her.

Darey Nov 02 2024 3:55 am sorry it's boring (_ _) even though I like Hellbound. and when I saw the info that there would be a season 2 I knew it was a bad idea. that's enough for season 1, nothing to comment on. I stopped at the 2nd episode.

It's like Gyeongseong Creature 2. set several years after the big events of season 1, with more internal conflict and a shorter story. but somehow it feels long want it to end quickly.

The creatures in Hellbound act as mysterious agents of "demonstration," enforcing a cosmic order that the New Truth Society manipulates to instill fear and control. Chairman Jinsu’s continued visions reflect his unresolved guilt and the burden of his actions, whereas Park remains unaffected, likely because he doesn’t share Jinsu’s deep-rooted responsibility. The scene where thousands receive their demonstration dates underscores the inevitability of death, suggesting that mortality is universal and possibly mocking the fanaticism of the New Truth’s followers. The resurrected child, who was thought to have been saved by her parents but actually died and returned, disrupts the New Truth’s teachings, hinting that hell and punishment may not be as absolute as the society claims, and that forgiveness or redemption could exist.

9/10 for me.

Pretty good follow-up to Season 1 world-building. Story pacing and plotlines are interesting to keep your attention. However, there was too little explanations and revelations about the world.

Some revelations were implied and not clearly explained. An example looks to be the comparison between PJJ and JJS. It seems that in ep6, PJJ who seemed to have truly repented for her kids is free of the creatures, while JJS who didnt repent in his heart keeps getting haunted, eventually consumed and become the creature.

There are still much to explain. Examples like: - Criteria to come back from hell (Is it facing their hell/Sins? Duration?) - Criteria for Decree? How did so many receive it in the end (Good or Bad seem to be not discriminated) - Criteria to transforming into the creature? (From above looks to be lack of repentance... but is it really so?)

Much more plotlines and questions to explore, would love a season 3 explaining the world pointers above. Interesting world-building.

The story is still good and the acting is ok but they haven't explored more about those 3 monsters,about who they are??where did they come from? How do they choose who will give them doctrine and all

If there will be season 3 of this, they should focus more on the monsters story and maybe on season 3 the government in the world will help each other to catch those monsters and maybe they will discover the true nature of those monsters

Oh wait, you know what? much better if you fix your grammar first and then don't watch it. Simple as that! Also yoo ah in is an amazing actor! Of course it's sad that he got replaced knetz are too much with cancel culture. But kim sung cheol is worth watching too! He won't disappoint! That's all and I'm so excited!

wonielob Oct 28 2023 1:31 pm @koreanoppa they switched the main lead yoo ah in because he is arrested for his habitual drug use, weeds are illegal in korea, knetz already cancelled him and chances of him coming back to the industry is less than 1%.
