Sim Yeon-Woo (Choi Si-Won) is an ob/gyn and he runs his own practice Sim Clinic. Sim Yeon-Woo is good at capturing the hearts of women, but when women fall in love with him and become possessive, try to change him, or become overly obsessed with him, then Yeon-Woo ends the relationship. Han So-Jin (Jung In-Sun) is a researcher and she works at a gene center. She is kind of geeky and is obsessed with finding the man who is genetically right for her. Sim Yeon-Woo and Han So-Jin get involved with each other. Meanwhile Seo Kang-Hoon (Lee Tae-Hwan) is a handsome firefighter. He always gives comfort to Han So-Jin. Jang Mi-Eun (Jung Eugene) is a love columnist and an ex-girlfriend of Sim Yeon-Woo.

AB Oct 12 2024 8:11 am Am I the only one who wanted Kang Hoon to end up with So Jin?! I hoped for this for the first half of the show and then when So Jin got needy and indecisive, I started to hate her. Anyway Kang Hoon was too good for her. Her idea of love and whatnot seemed too shallow and childish. she is fixated on something trivial instead of what matters.I only say this because I feel so sorry for Kang Hoon it's hard to love someone for so much for so long only to be disappointed by them. Dropped this show 3 times. Only watched it because my family wanted to watch it together. I don't really get why people say the ending seemed realistic. I don't get how these people's feelings and relationship are realistic they don't seem logical.

Md Oct 06 2024 1:39 pm DNA Lover was a mostly cute story. Episode 16 was mostly a fail. These two love each other & the blah end after not seeing each other for a year….what??? Not much to remember about this one.

I guess it can be hard for some folks to appreciate quirkiness in story lines; they always seem to want traditional, predictable progressions and endings of stories. I was never once bored during this drama. I've known scientists in my lifetime and not all of them are dull and serious, believe me! As a K-drama fan for two decades I actually appreciate when a story is different and goes its own unique way, and follows characters that are not like the same old, same old we see in countless other dramas. DNA Lover is getting an A grade from me. I also want to congratulate the young actor who played the priest. Fantastic dual performance. I will not forget him!

Jillibean Sep 25 2024 1:40 am Episodes 11 and 12 were intense! Love this series. It's different and intriguing. I think the leading lady character will finally realize that love is not a matter of DNA but of the heart. After all, identical twins have matching DNA but they don't fall in love and spend their whole lives together. Lol.

Douggie Sep 18 2024 1:27 pm I was already watching three other dramas when I decided to give this one a try. I was surprised how much I've been intrigued by this drama while the others were boring me with their predictable plot lines. Here the story is not predictable at all and I like that. It keeps me guessing who is going to end up with whom.

And I think Siwon is a great actor. He is just best at comedy, that's all. :) Some people prefer Charlie Chaplin while others prefer John Barrymore. That's all. :)

2nd lead Sep 08 2024 4:41 pm I hate to watch (but still do, though I wonder if I could finish this one or eventually drop it) these type of drama where the 2nd FL hovers over the main ML and the 2nd ML (her partner eventually yes it's predictable but still irritating).

And the 2nd FL makes the 1st FL lead feel bad, sad, jealous but is too kind to say anything or fight back. but the 2nd lead make sure it's not too obvious so the MLs nor the FL wouldn't think anything bad of her.

Brings me back to Coffee Prince's 2nd FL. She's the worst, I hated her when I 1st watch it when it was release but I was sympathetic to her when I rewatched lately.

Kdrama likes this kind of plot or character dynamics so much whenever they have 2 couples, besides the other popular ones like love triangles or ones with very strong 2nd lead, most fans would want the 2nd lead, more chemistry w/ 2nd lead but won't work out in the end. It's like a recipe they follow. Guess I've watched too many kdramas now, it's more obvious than before.

Jillibean Sep 06 2024 4:54 pm It's impossible for me to dislike any drama Siwon is in. I have been watching him since Spring Waltz in 2006. He makes every drama better just by his presence in it. It's a daft little love story but be patient. I think we will see some real character growth as it progresses.

The female lead is so unlikeable and obsessive that it makes it hard to watch her, let alone believe the male lead could be attracted to her. Her comments are ridiculous. There is no chemistry between the male and female lead who are both great actors, nor can there be with this immature obsessed woman. I guess this is what a " nerd" looks like to people who don't understand other people. Maybe someone can fix this and have it end up being a good story.
