Princess Deokhye (Son Ye-Jin) was the last princess of Korea.
Under Japanese colonial rule, she is taken to Japan as a hostage. With the era's harsh conditions, she struggles to maintain the hope of the Korean people. Jang-Han (Park Hae-Il) is a fighter for Korean independence. His mission is to bring Princess Deokhye back to South Korea and he also loves her.
Notes
- Based on novel "Deokhyeongjoo" by Kwon Bi-Young (published December 14, 2009 by Dasan Books). The novel is based on the life a real life historical figure.
- Filming began November 30, 2015 and finished March 23, 2016. Shooting took place in South Korea and Japan.
- Actress Son Ye-Jin previously worked with director Hur Jin-Ho in 2005 film "April Snow."
