Park Jae-Won (Ji Chang-Wook) is an architect with a passionate and honest personality. He enjoys the small streets in the city and collecting different things. He does not forget the woman who stole his heart and disappeared.

Lee Eun-O (Kim Ji-Won) works as a freelancer marketer. She takes a trip without making specific plans. While on her trip, Lee Eun-O meets Park Jae-Won in a strange place. She introduces herself as Yoon Sun-A and pretends to have a free spirit, which is a totally different personality from her real self. She falls in love with him.

Kdrama Llama Apr 14 2025 1:18 am Feelings seem pretty polarised over this particular romcom but I love, love, loved it and agree with everything @UGHUGH07 says, below.

I especially enjoyed the “mocumentary” style and certainly in the first half - two thirds of the series it almost felt like the camera, or the unseen people behind it, were another character. It also felt very modern, fresh and real, no waiting 10 episodes for two grown adults to hold hands and no crazy sound effects either (as much I do appreciate this in other KDramas, it is always a little cheesy).

All of the characters and their stories were great, my one grumble would be I felt Seon-Yeong, Geon’s ex, was a bit short changed in terms of backstory and screen time. And, as always JCW and KJW bring the entire periodic table of chemistry to their roles, but my standout performance was JCW, he’s genuinely hilarious here and I found myself laughing out loud regularly throughout, often at him.

The slow reveal of the interwoven lives and the message of the importance of self love and acceptance were pitch perfect too. So! if you’re looking for something different, something bite sized (30 minute episodes!) and a genuinely delightful cast and storyline that will make you laugh, cry and everything in between, give this a try, I’ll definitely be rewatching again soon…!

I understand that others might not feel the same, but for me, it’s different. Both actresses gave their all and brought their characters to life. They taught me lessons that really stuck with me—addictive, heartwarming, and a true portrayal of healthy relationships.

The story is unlike anything I’ve seen. It has several love stories, all connected in some way. It explores different aspects of love: loving yourself, loving others, and growing together. To be honest, I’ve never cried so much watching a drama.

The six couples—best friends, lovers, cousins, and more—show that love is not just about giving, but also about learning to love yourself first. The way the writer presents these stories is fresh and creative, from flashbacks to interviews to narration. The characters feel real, not just fictional—they have struggles, flaws, and growth, just like any real relationship. The music, the settings, the way it’s filmed—it all fits perfectly. From the first episode, I was hooked, and I know the rest will be just as amazing.

I really enjoy the OST, especially the songs used in the first eight episodes. The acting is great, and the chemistry between the actors is believable. The story is romantic but not over-the-top—no teen drama, no heavy family issues. The soundtrack is spot on, and I couldn’t wait for the song titles to be released. Each song matches the scene perfectly.

What I love most is how the drama avoids clichés. It tells the story in a unique and real way. The characters are flawed, but that makes them even more relatable. You might dislike them at times, but you end up loving them because of their imperfections. You can see yourself in one of them because their struggles and growth feel so true to life.

This drama teaches us that real love means accepting people, flaws and all—and that includes loving yourself.

The way it’s filmed feels fresh, especially with the interview-style scenes. It adds a layer of authenticity and connection. The editing is sharp and has some funny moments that made me laugh. The chemistry between the characters and the emotions—it’s all amazing.

His love for her is so deep, and it makes me wish for a love like that in the real world. My heart just keeps feeling something.

One of my favorite moments is when Rin-Yi stands up for herself after her boyfriend tells her he’s ashamed of how she lives. It’s a powerful moment that reminds us that shame has no place in love. It’s used to control, not to grow. The real shame lies in those who try to change others to hide their own insecurities.

I wish the drama showed more of their relationship. They had something special, and I wanted to see more of them together.

This drama shows how love makes us act in ways we never thought we would—how we forgive things we normally wouldn’t, how we get lost in our feelings, and how we sometimes use others to forget our own pain. The characters are so real, and even though it’s different from the usual K-drama, it’s refreshing to see a couple express their love so openly. I really want to go to the beach and experience everything—it’s so beautiful.

This has definitely been an absolutely wonderful experience, and I would absolutely recommend watching this to anyone. Lovestruck in the City had one of the sweetest, most satisfying endings of all time! I know the concept of a documentary-style drama is still relatively new, but believe me, this drama is so much fun.

The storytelling format is refreshing, blending interviews with the characters' personal lives, creating an almost documentary-like feel that makes the emotions and relationships feel real and raw. Ji Chang-wook and Kim Ji-won deliver heartfelt, nuanced performances that breathe life into their characters, making their love story incredibly relatable and poignant.

I'm only 2 1/2 minutes into the second episode, and I'm so annoyed at the choppyness of the presentation. They are trying to pretend like it's a reality series, but it's just one, or two, or three second clips spliced together with no time to process the information between clips, and then another quick clip, and another and another, and stop! Jeez, I'm wearing out my repeat button.

It's just too frustrating to watch.

I like the actors, they are from some of my favourite shows, like My Liberation Notes, Backstreet Rookie, This is my First Life, The Beauty Inside, Welcome to Samdal-ri, Bad and Crazy, and Hellbound. I'm familiar with five of the six main characters.

That isn't enough for me to watch this show though. I'm really disappointed since this is the most familiar I've been with the top 6 main actors. I was excited to watch this show.

The second half of the first episode was fine, so maybe I'll come back, but I've said that before and never returned to a show.

So frustrating...

The chemist between main characters is insane, it’s feel so real. All actors played their roles so well. Please watch this drama with an open heart and focus, eventually you will love it. I still cannot move on with this drama.

Anytime I was enjoying their acting and love story, they insert the stupid unnecessary interview. I dropped at episode 3, I got confused and annoyed by the interviews.

Carlina Jul 12 2023 9:22 pm I watched this series because I like JCW.The interview format was distracting.The scenary is beautiful,the camping part is good.But I found his smile fake in this drama not like healer,k2.where his smile is so genuine and he has soft gazes.He lacked that soft romantic gaze in this drama.His anger part was hilarious.He mentioned that he tried to be real to make the show realistic and communicate his work to the audience.He worked hard and well tried his character.Wishing him best in his future dramas.

Amonaje Jan 15 2023 6:47 am I loved the drama, I read that many people do not like the interview format in which the fourth wall is broken, but I have seen two films before that use that: Woody Allen's Anie Hall and Ferris Bueller day off and they are great, so I expected good results with this drama. At first I hated the protagonist, I told myself that there are no people like her, so happy and outgoing, that is impossible, but when you find out the truth halfway through the drama, I felt enormously sorry for her and I understood why she was running away from the protagonist, she felt pathetic, it was sad. Ji Chang Wook's acting was fabulous, the scene where he cries drunk is so deep and moving, the man was in torment! I even liked the last chapter, I thought that chapter 16 was enough, but in 17 we only see for a little moment that the protagonists are fine, so it seems to me that it was the right information. That they focused on the story of the policeman at the The end didn't bother me either, his story with the girl was imperfect, but that's the way real life is. I already watched the drama for the second time and I liked it more. I definitely recommend it.

Elena Sep 11 2022 6:52 am I was super hyped about this series and the actors but I couldn't get past the first episode due to the fact that every 5 minutes they broke the story to insert a couch interview. Please stop trying to tell stories with couch interviews that pulls you out of the story because this is not Love Island or a documentary. If you really want to insert what they think bring back the traditional scenes where they pace up and down and explain themselves where they do the same thing but with shrugging their head over a coffee or a tea.

Em Jul 22 2022 3:17 pm I really enjoyed this show, the cinematography and color pallet used in the Summer-romance flashbacks/scenes were so aesthetically pleasing!

A lot of K-dramas avoid physical intimacy, and while sex scenes are rarely necessary, I've noticed that quite often even kissing scenes feel lackluster which can really kill the atmosphere or mood of a scene, especially when it's between two characters that have spent 13+ episodes desperately longing for each other, fortunately, that's not the case with Lovestruck in the City, the physical intimacy between all the couples felt very believable, there was no slow-mo open-eyed kisses, no one-sided kissing where the other freezes like a deer caught in headlights and no skirting around the "first-night" scenes, intimate scenes in Lovestruck in the City were tastefully done, and while nothing gratuitous is shown it doesn't shy away from the fact that the characters in this show are absolutely having sex and it made their relationships feel realistic, their sexual tension convincing and captured the atmosphere and mood of the scenes perfectly.

The mockumentary-interview approach was an interesting concept that worked well and was very quirky, that being said, the ML and FL's chemistry was so good that part of me kinda wishes they'd filmed the show in the usual K-drama format just to see several full episodes of their vacation romance develop in real-time without interruptions from side characters and "interview" segments, etc.

If you're in the mood to watch a K-drama with an unusual and inventive concept, featuring two romantic leads with sizzling chemistry I highly recommend Lovestruck in the City!

KST Jul 06 2022 5:46 am I just finished watching this series yesterday. It was amazing actually. I really love to the way Ji chang wook and Kim ji won act. Their chemistry was damn good. I really love to the scenes they were together. Hope it had more romance than this.Hope this series will have a season 2! Recommend this to all who like watching short dramas with romance! Doesn't really fond about how they make Jaewon so whipped in the beginning but in the end the justice is served and viewer wouldn't hating on Euno, too, she's reasonable. Agreed to what they did to the highschool sweethearts (they ought to work something out of their things) and kinda disappointed they didn't dig on Geon-Seonyeong more, but it wrapped well. The dynamic of 6 kinda reminds me of Friends, and next season/sequel/spin off worthy. Overall so netflix-y, try this one for unique drama-watching experience.

Im falling for the main couple, changwook and jiwon, there is no other kdrama couple can beat their chemistry. They look so much like reallife couple. Suh rini and kyungjun, soyoung and kanggeon, all the couple are so great. I love how this drama has antimainstream story line, concept. The ost!!! I listened the playlist almost everyday. Thankyou to director Park Shin Woo, your are the best. Every scenes is so beautiful, i'm just curious how did you direct the bed scene of parkjaewon and seon a. That bed scene is soooooooooo high. I'm totally swoon, amazed. The sensual tention is so on point.

I'm so lucky to find and loving this drama.

Since the cop knew the the 2nd and third couple, I thought they would return for a season two. I was looking forward to a season 2 since they did such a good job with season 1.

Spuki Oct 13 2021 4:01 am Everyone to their own movie preferences but I can't get over anyone not liking this series. One of the best ever. I love the filming style, it is different and refreshing to see it done this way. The chemistry of the leads is amazing. The only drawdown was episode 17 that was totally unnecessary and I believe was just put there to introduce that rookie actress to the movie industry. I have watched this now 3 times and I just skip the unnecessary scenes of the final episode.

I don’t really mind negative comments because I’m aware that we have different preference in terms of dramas. I respect those ppl if it’s not their cup of tea. But for me, this is one of the most beautiful drama that I’ve watched. Chang Wook and Ji Won’s chemistry is out of this world. It’s so natural and I feel like I’m invading their privacy as I watch their scenes. It’s really good. Now, it’s been more than a week since I’ve finished rewatching this series for the 3rd time already and I can’t still get over them. Every now and the, I watch their MV’s, interviews, BTS and they still give me butterflies. If the season 2 will not include the original casts, I hope JW and CW will meet again for another full length drama. Casting directors, producers please consider them again as leads. Many people are asking for it!!! ?

Miena Aug 04 2021 2:38 am I just watched 9 episodes. Scenery is so unbelievable beautiful ; Yang Yang beach. The scenes at camper and beach bar are so romantic. JCW is not only good at action but also romance. Chemistry of the lead is good. But I’m a bit dizzy about Q and A technique and back and forth present and past that need much concentration from viewers to catch up. That makes me rethink I will continue to end or not. Actually I like JCW a lot about his acting. The scene at bar around Eun O house, Jae Won met her there and was drunk and grieved over her that scene JCW did the best to express his suppressed grieve.

There were scenes that were funny at first, then became serious and ends up heart-fluttering. Whatever he plays, he is Great to watch and makes me happy!!! Kim Ji Won i also liked very much, sweet and beautiful but also good acting. Top!!! Overall great performance of the whole cast actually! A nice drama, different once. I liked it a lot. Great to watch and to me Perfect!! Watch it if you can!

Sauda May 04 2021 4:50 pm Honestly, this the first Kdrama that I have ever rewatched, it's that good. Chemistry is on point! And Ji Chang is a sweetheart. This was the first drama I watched with him in it, and now I've seem all his dramas. He's also the best kisser-on screen. Passion, oof! It's like he was made to play this character, such a range of emotions.

I recomend LITC. If you watch the videos on Swoon wherr the main characters play games and chat, you'll understand how the drama affected these characters too. It's really a work of art. But I may be bias.. but also I didn't hear of Wookie when I started watching.

There's no action scenes, no evil boyfriend stalker, no mystery. Just a camera thief, a good drama and romance.

ABC123 May 01 2021 5:35 am The best way to describe this drama would be, "It tries too hard." Nothing comes off as natural or "realistic" to me. It all came across as entirely contrived and forced. Like it really wanted to seem edgy and different but in reality it's like a mix of Real World mixed with a show on the CW. Neither of the leads are at all likeable, have barely any character development, and I could have cared less what happened to any of them. Simp falls in love with a manic pixie dream girl and simps for her for 16 episodes, the end.

Why they did focus on the policeman and the rookie actress on the finale episode? It would've been better if Kyeong-Jun's or Geon's part have a closure. Kim Ji-Won and Ji Chang-Wook though have a great chemistry!

I got annoyed at the characters from time to time - I can't say I'm annoyed exactly, I don't know how to express this feeling in English. Often I loved and supported them, felt like my own friends. These feelings gave me great pleasure. After passing through the first few episodes, the story gets better and you have a better understanding of the concept of the series. The only disappointment was the final episode, I would love for the second season to come out. It was as if something was left unfinished, yet it wasn't a bad finale. I highly recommend it :)

And because of that i felt that this show was a bit underwhelming for me. It was a good call to show 30-min episodes only, but even that did not pique my interest.

Why chemistry matters? Look at JCW in Healer and Suspicious Partner and then at KJW in DOTS and Fight for My Way. This reel team-up pales in comparison to those.

I found myself smiling most of the time. No... this drama is definitely not boring. It depends what you are looking for. This is somewhat close to reality and it is about different perspectives. Selection of cast is good too especially the 2 main casts especially JCW. I tried to fit in other faces of other actors in this story but somehow he is more suited to be in there. I love the mood the drama sets us in. Am enjoying every moment of it since ep 1. I am sure I will enjoy the rest of the episodes too.

It’s unconventional and it’s what makes it unique and feels like a breathe of fresh air from your usual kdrama. JCW and KJW were known to be good and this series proves that it’s 101% true.

The fact that he torture himself so much over a woman who left him like that it's just to bad of an image to put out and in lots of moments he seemed pathetic and druggy the chemistry was nice it's just that they made him look desperate. It's not like LEO is a perfect character herself it's but she was like that from the start cold and distant yes she loved him but at least she had a specific kind of mood going on for the other to couples they were a sweet addition to the story even tho they were more like second leads not supporting but I didn't get the ending of both couples also ep 17 totally unnecessary from what I said it may sound as a bad drama but it was cute and pleasant to watch thanks to the episodes being only 30 min long i would put an 8/10 i liked it I'm just pointing out some "mistakes"

It’s a 17 episodes drama with around 30 mins each. Compare that to the usual format of over 60 minutes of 16+ eps drawn out makjang drama that they call romcom? Hmm..

Anyway, this is a light drama, in a true romcom style. It has none of the usual repeat multi-angle wrist grab or kiss scene, no overdrawn crying/brooding scenes with sad ballad screeching in the background, no unnecessary evil future Mother-in-laws, no love rivals plotting for their next scheme. Just stories about how the couples met, how their stories developed, and how it ended. Oh, also about friendship and discovering yourself.

I like the simplicity of it. Despite it being more “realistic” than the usual romcom offerings, to me, it feels like watching a daydream that came true (in the case of the main couple). I also loved the cinematography and editing on this drama. Definitely has a more modern feel to it with its instagram-like filter and the interview style drama. I guess being produced by Netflix has its perks with the music being used in the drama too. Every episode had a theme (basically a question asked at the beginning) and when the main scene happened, most times there’d be a song with that theme playing in the background. Sometimes there was even an explanation of the band/song as well on it.

I also liked how they are not shy with physical touch between the couples. Not to mention the chemistry between the main couple was off the charts. Kissing scenes were done properly. You could *feel* the seduction through the screen.

Like another commenter mentioned below, the introduction of a potential couple at the final episode was a little jarring. Perhaps that was a set up for the second season’s main couple? In any case, it left another couple’s story a little up in the air because this potential couple’s story was the only “filler” scene so far that wasn’t directly related to the 3 couples.

But yes, definitely NOT BORING. Just a light romcom with their normal every day story about navigating life, love, and relationships.

Mtle Mar 01 2021 5:50 am This is the first time I'm leaving a comment in asianwiki and I was really surprised by some of the comments saying this was boring, unrealistic and dragging, but in my opinion it was Absolutely Not Boring. Maybe because of the recently released kdramas which was either a makjang or fantasy/scifi themed (that made some people see it that way), but to me it was raw and emotional and very realisitic. It showed that the lead characters didn't need to have a deep and complicated past just to make their characters diverse and imperfect. Plus the lead's chemistry was crazy, but I'm not surprised about that 'cause it's JCW and KJW, both of whom works so well with every costars they've ever worked with. It was a simple drama without any complicated plots, so if you'd want to watch a very chill drama, I definitely recommend this one.

The female lead tried to find herself, love herself and accept herself and I feel like many people can relate. I love the characters and their friendship, I loved how we got to see each character's story. This k-drama has emotional and funny scenes that will make you laugh and cry. The chemistry between the female and male lead was off the charts, I mean even the director ships them :D If I had to give it a rating I would give it a strong 7/10. I have also watched It's Okay Not to be Okay which I give a strong 9 which was done by the same director, and I like his style and look forward to his future projects.

If those who say this drama is boring, that means they are only happy to see complicated drama stories, touching love, and complicated conflicts. Try to see this drama in terms of the concept and the storyline is so realistic. This drama has a virtual conversation concept that I have never encountered in other Korean dramas, maybe this concept has been applied to western series and it's really amazing! The storyline of this drama is also realistic, when we look at the relationship not only from the sweetness and the bitterness but rather the way we deal with heartbreak, marriage, escape, and finding our true selves. This is a drama that I really like! Sometimes a drama storyline doesn't need to be too complicated, but let's see how great the actors and actresses in this drama play their roles and make the characters really come to life as if they were actually experiencing it in the real world. I really like new ideas like this in the world of Korean dramas. A drama doesn't have to be overly complicated and filled with something so touching, it also needs innovation like this!

The cast did a very good job potraying their roles inch perfect. And.. who is this Hae Na (Hong Su Zu) girl? She is dangggg cute!!!!! Please please continue with a season 2 we need to see more of the other couples development too :/

Anyways, an episode of this drama is only around 30 minutes long and I would recommend this drama to anyone who wants a realistic, light, funny and mature series.

I realised that this drama is a hit or miss. you either really like it or don't. personally I loved the way it was filmed, the interview style was super refreshing and it makes it stand out from other dramas. i found the editing really hilarious and just so clever, especially the PPL parts and when they make fun of characters >< really loved the chemistry between jcw and kjw. jcw is very good at expressing his emotions sincerely I feel. I loved the rin-I and kyeong jun as well, they just have this couple look and they really suited their roles, wished they wrapped their story up in the last ep though. as for our beloved third couple, seonyeong and geon, really wished I could see more of their interactions, man I was really excited to see them get back tgt but the last episode was kind of strange to me? like why did they suddenly bring in mr handsome policeman's love story (it was super cute though loved it) I really hope there's a season 2 TT. I would totally put this as one of my top dramas :-)

I very much enjoyed Lovestruck in the city although the final episode seemed a little pointless, the handsome policeman played such a minor part in the overall story that it seemed a little odd to devote almost an entire episode to his little romance subplot, I think I would've prefered to see more of Rin-I and Kyeong-Jun's situation or more time spent with the friendship group in general for the final act. Perhaps there will be a season 2 expanding on the other character's love lives?

Either way, it's a great series and I highly recommend it!

Though I feel like it'd be great for it to be upgraded to a drama instead with an hour per episode because getting 30 minutes per episodes just seems not enough for this masterpiece!! ?? I hope season 2 will happen since there are still yet to be told regarding rinyi and kyungjoon's story and geon and sunyeong's story. We can start season 2 with alcoholic kyungjoon just like season 1 with alcoholic jaewon ? and as season 1 focuses on self-love and sincerity, I think season 2 with rinyi and kyungjoon's story can focus on differences of living and what happiness means for each person and how that affects relationships. I see potential!! A whole season 3 for geon and sunyeong is also acceptable!! Let's not make it stop here kakao and netflix I really enjoyed it ? Looking forward to hearing good news!!

JCW is a good actor. I hope its not a happy ending story because its not fair how much the male lead has tormented due to the female lead. Emma Jan 29 2021 2:28 pm So I just finished watching up to episode 12, now that the two main characters have met again I hope Eun-Oh isn't going to be all shy and meek around Jae-won for the next few episodes, I know her personality was somewhat timid prior to her time at the beach living as Seon-a but it would be a real shame (and a bit of a drag) if it the series pulls a reverse K-drama trope with her suddenly behaving like a quiet demure wallflower when she'd already mentioned in earlier episodes that her time working on the beach and meeting Jae-won had given her the confidence to be more outgoing and extroverted.

The drama series turns out to be quite unpredictable, in a good way as well.

I enjoy all the characters and the ambiance of the drama series is so lovely. I never noticed before but Kim Ji-Won reminds me so much of actress Lee Na-Young when she was Kim Ji-Won's age. Div Jan 23 2021 1:03 pm OMG I have to say that I am 1000% totally agree with @ Kdrama Addict. at first, I kinda like the pilot eps and all but the more I watched the more I dislike this kdrama so much I am so sorry. eps 9-10 makes me mad bcs the story keeps going just between those two, which I believe the main leads. cause I think, we will got the pov from the other two couple but I guess not. the story didn’t get anywhere and we only have 2 eps left?! omg I can’t believe this. Lulu Jan 23 2021 7:00 am I like the Mockumentary style, so I found it refreshing to adapt it to a drama. It’s certainly not the drama of the century but it’s still interesting to watch. What we have to understand is that the writer does not seek to write a classic story as he sees in the dramas, just as he does not seek to make these characters loved either. The writer seeks to judge how people often become dopey when they are in a relationship or when they are in love. And if you’re honest, you’ll recognize that in your entourage you’ve seen people behave much worse than those when they’re in love. The writer just wants to show us the real life, a guy who forgives everything because he’s in love, a girl who reacts violently to every breakup, a selfish person who used another to forget her misfortune etc.

It is good to break the stereotypes. Personally, the show is a bit boring and annoying. It would have been better since they have amazing actors. The main flaw is the writer.

Ji Chang Wok's character is whiny and moping all the time. He is a great actor, but his character did not show any character development. He is the worst simp.

Then you have Kim Ji won. She was moppy and sad however starts this whole situation. She made this conflict. Some people are going to defend her that we don't know her story. We have to wait. No, we do not have to wait. They met multiple times and chose not the tell the truth. Proceeded to make him stay another month in YangYang. She has no remorse and selfish. In episode 9, she refuses to tell the truth in front of the police.

I don't care if you film them in a nice setting with great lighting. They were annoying and definitely should not get back together. Another thing, they take most of the scenes. There is no point in having a cast of 6 people if we're only to show two people in every episode. The other four were just extras. Choi Min Ho shows up way more than the other leads. He is only the police officer. This was biased towards the lead.

I am on episode 9, and I barely know Han Ji Eun's storyline with Ryeo Kyung So. Also, Kim Min Seok and Su Ju Yeon's character are barely there. I do not know Su Ju Yeon's character's job. Is she mainly a part-timer? Does a have a career like the others? It is a big mystery.

So many things are wrong and quite bland. All the characters seem to have a boring love line except for the two leads. Why do they get to have this romantic summer while everyone else is either arguing or have a coffee date with their friends? Where is their spice?

It is a show for just the leads. I think the other actors deserve better in terms of their characters. The writers could have at least give the other couple an episode to themselves. For the couple that has the long-lasting doesn't give me a montage of their relationship. I have to hear Ji Chang Wook's story about her stealing his camera for the fifth time. Then I can at least have an episode of Kim Min Seok's relationship with his other half for more than 2 minutes.

Like I stated before, they could have easily made this show more likable if they had the writer from Because This is My First Life. Similar vibes in terms of relationships between leads and friendship. But way more intriguing and gave each character a personality.

I just finished watching episode 10 and my heart sank thinking the unfinished story would abandon me there. So relieved to see that there are 12 episodes. I wouldn't have felt so cheated (if only briefly) if I wasn't drawn to the story, characters, actors, staging, music, filming, etc. Big market for young, but mature relationship themes. Bring it on.

I stopped watching after seeing the 1st 2 episodes bc it seemed slow and I didn't like the format. But catching up with the last eps over the week, my goodness- it's so good. Definitely not your typical kdrama and it's more adult driven by way of open/blunt conversation regarding love/relationship/sex etc. What I like about it the most is, it's not trying to tell a perfect love story...all (or most) of the characters are flawed in someway.

@ jan - kids should not be watching in the 1st place. Secondly, these are adults in their late 20s/early 30s who have rights to live their lives as they choose. "especially women"??? wth? what backward mentality is this? please go back and stay in the cave.

That heart wrenching crying, drunk scene in,the restaurant and the rage scene showing how badly she hurt him were just two. Of his outstanding scenes. I love him in rom. coms but I have to acknowledge the fact that. Its time to give him a serious difficult role soon because he's ready to take it and go with it.

My friend is in that situation and he finds it extremely hard to get over her. He rereads her texts etc. To him just like ML, it doesn't make sense. They were getting along just fine. ML needs closure but how can he when FL has given false name? I feel for him. At times though it drives me nuts he can't just let bygones be bygones. Then again she stole his Leica, very expensive camera. Of course it doesn't help that he's seen her. That's just pouring oil into fire! Can't wait 2 c what writers have in store for us. As 4 girls choosing 1 night stands above long term relationships, that is not the norm. What is the reason? Ditto 4 not wanting any relationship at all? Def not normal for a guy unless he's a priest or so.

The quick scene changes when they are monologuing is tough with subtitles but I really love the way this is filmed. I couldn't have imagined a better cast for this drama especially the two main leads and I can't wait to see what other entanglements and relationships unfold as the episodes air. This drama is gold and the soundtrack is lovely and fresh. Great cast, awesome soundtrack, and an intriguing story. Really enjoying this drama.

Emma Jan 15 2021 7:55 pm I highly recommend giving Lovestruck in the City a watch, however, if you're an avid K-drama fan I would advise going into it with an open mind as this particular K-drama strays away from the traditional format in favour of something a little more experimental, choosing instead to lean slightly (but only slightly) into a more Western approach to its storytelling, mainly in its depiction of the relationships and displays of affection exhibited by the characters... Don't let that put you off though, it still very much has that K-drama vibe!

Personally, I'm absolutely adoring this series, the chemistry between both the main couple and the other characters feels so natural and realistic and although it's not your typical k-drama format it's kinda refreshing to see the main couple display their affection for each other in a less reserved manner.

I also love the aesthetics of the series, the dreamy warm tones and filters during the holiday flashbacks serve as a poignant juxtaposition to the present-day scenes, particularly during moments when the main couple are struggling to get over each other.

It brings in a new spin by breaking away from the classic kdrama. Bringing about its own. Spin. That allows for a new version of the show. I recommend it to those who don't mind watching the same kdramas shows. Its really good.

The first and second episodes were so relatable to me, personally. And that is what kept me going. I hope more people will find it refreshing and new instead of bashing this webdrama as boring. Also, JCW and KJW look so good together! Definitely perfect visual!!

Mari Jan 10 2021 7:17 pm I think some people are viewing this show from the wrong angle. While the show is in Korean, it is not a typical kdrama and I feel like people need to acknowledge this. Being a webdrama on netflix, it allows them to be experimental outside of what the korean network channels allow them. Additionally, the show is obviously catering to international viewers as well and not just Koreans.

Honestly, I like the pacing of the show. I find it annoying that most kdramas make us wait so long for intimacy between the couples. This is a feel-good drama that portrays the realistic struggles and happiness that comes with love. I'm actually astounded by how many people are being so pessimistic about this show just because it's different.

My guess - The fictional group is inspired by Oasis and has the name Beetle in it as Oasis seemed to worship the Beatles.

The worst element of this drama is the use of monologues. These are terribly annoying because they break up the flow of the narrative and presents the characters as self absorbed. I was looking forward to watching Ryu Kyung-soo and Chang Wook.

I liked the beginning: snapshots of 3 couples with the main focus on the architect and his holiday love, the other 2 couples just filling in. However, I would very much like the plot of the latter to evolve more. I am curious what the writer has in store for the girl who likes one night stands (very not what we r used 2 from kdramas) and the writer who doesn't. The other two have been dating for ages. How about seeing them getting married first? My own parents had a whirlwind romance of six weeks and tied the knot with my mother moving across the pond. However, 30 minutes is too short!!! I guess it's partly because of Covid and partly because Chin Wook has become one of the top 10 best paid Korean actors. He was amazing in The empress Xi, good in The healer and excellent in Suspicious Partners but I am sorry to say not so convincing in this series. Then again, didn't he marry a couple of months ago? Kissing in Korean series means a lot, I guess in life too. Not easy to separate private life from professional life.

As for me, I believe this is the way you find your soul love, not bcs you both start as friend and trying your best to love.. like typically in movie/drama but just, you soul know she/he is the one.. so you both instantly match, your heart knows it

and if you have found her/him, you know you will never be in love other than with her/him. and, you choose not to be in other relationship bcs you know if it does happen, you are deceiving yourself.

i rate this drama 10/10 bcs the writer wrote it beautifully with so much detail and the director potrayed it very well (all the soundtrack match) also can't ask other main character to play it very well? both of them looks like they're really in love jcw make kjw comfortable, no one can deny that

Emma Dec 31 2020 5:28 pm Only 3 episodes in so far and I'm very intrigued, it's very different to what we're used to with most k-drama formats, I like the unusual way it tells the main couple's story with flashbacks and mockumentary-style interviews.

I'm assuming all 16 episodes have Eun-O and Jae-Won as the focus with the supporting cast continuing to interject occasionally with their own interconnecting stories? I like the other characters but I'm definitely more invested in Eun-O and Jae-Won's love story so I hope that continues to be the case.

I don’t get it at all... most people love this drama but it really feels like torture to me... So far, all the montages help with telling each individuals story - the beautiful visuals definitely set the feeling and mood. Also, Finally, a KDrama that had intimate/bed scenes that resembles a scene one would find in a “Hollywood” film (not full on but close enough) ? haha... Great to see JCW back on the big screen - excellent actor and boy, I’ve missed watching his kissing/intimate scenes! Keep up the good work Lovestruck in the City!

The beach scenes were so interesting... young viewers may find it boring but I love it... it reminds me of dramas that were warm and interesting... The cinematography, the colors, introduction and moreover the interactive part with the audience is superb! I am certain this drama will be a success! All the characters look sharp and on point. Great director and actors! And of course it has the King of Kdramas, The Ji Chang Wook so one can expect great acting, seductive eyes, love and sincerity towards the work he does! Definitely recommend everyone to watch it if you want a break from the cliche Kdramas!!

I miss his older dramas Healer, Warrior Baek Dong Soo, and especially Empress Ki (which is not an action drama but his acting ability really shine along with veteran actors in the cast). This looks good and relatable but honestly feels very generic and just a filler drama. As in looking from the teasers, I have seen these couple stories many times before. Their Christmas poster also gives major 'Because this is my first life'. Hopefully, JCW will find a script that can properly utilize and showcase his acting range

bruh Dec 01 2020 10:09 am i can't believe this? people are actually arguing over the fact that he's doing romcoms? what even. first and foremost, it's the actor's personal choice what kind of role he wants to play, maybe he wants to take a break from all the fighting or he likes this genre...or for whatever reason but it's his personal choice.

second, you don't like him in these roles? fine then, don't watch it. there's where your choice lies. i get it, his two consecutive romcoms were not upto the par, but that's not his fault! he's giving his best even in those roles. you can't blame the actor for a poorly written drama.

lastly, stop judging the drama, it hasn't even aired yet. end of rant. peace.

He only cast 3 times for action drama and 1 for movie but WHY people think he is an acrion genre actor? When he played so many romance drama, family drama, hystorical drama before? Everyone who say he is action genre actor probably new fans. You are new fans, you dont know JCW played on sooo many genre before.
