Moon Seung-Mo (Eric) is a popular chef. Due to the sudden deaths of his parents by fire, he moves to Seoha Village. His peaceful daily life suddenly changes there with the sudden appearance of Yoo Yoo-Jin (Go Won-Hee).

Meanwhile, Yoo Yoo-Jin is a world famous fashion designer. She works under the name of Yoo Bella. One day, she has a car accident. The car accident causes her to lose her memory completely and she ends up in Seoha Village. She acts very eccentric there and becomes a troublemaker. Due to her behavior, she picks up the nickname “Yoobyeolna” ("What an eccentric").

Park Min May 07 2023 9:42 pm The little kid stood out the most in the entire thing. The villain and the corporation arc were very lame, they wanted the drama to have some tension but it would have been better without. It just made it ever more generic. Also, it wasn't a good role for Ahn Nae Sang. Other than the kid and the food I can't see much good left in it. It shares some similarities with Couple or Trouble (2006) except that one was much better and definitely more enjoyable.

I can't believe this beautiful drama and incredible story have a bad rating :((( maybe in the broadcast ?? if this drama aired in Kbs or Sbs , I'm 100% sure it had to be atleast 10% rating and more. I missed everyone in the village, especially Bella and Seung Mo :((( i hope they can work together in the future, in this drama, they are so cute and really fits for the roles

So Lala Jul 05 2020 4:46 pm I love how smooth the transitions is. I can complain nothing when Bella turns to Byeolna then turns back again to Bella. Well I'm happy when she comes to Chef Moon's family and sad when she should go back to her own life and leaves Seoha but the transition is smooth and logical I can't even complain. So does Moon Chef. He grew from an individualistic bachelor to a father and a leader of society. The characters' development especially the main leads are good and neat.

Not to mention how fine is the chemistry, it's just natural and flowing. Between main leads, between Bella, Chef Moon and Seol, between the 4 roommates, between the villagers and others. Especially when Bella regains her memory and leaves Seoha, Chef Moon and Seol well-portrayed the role of father and daughter which are leaves behind by their (as if) wife / mother. That I call well-built chemistry.

Of course there are some messed up plot and plot holes here and there but this drama is just so pleasing to watch.

Blastic Jun 30 2020 9:58 pm I think specifically in this drama Go Won Hee looks like a mix of Han Segye (Beauty Inside drama version) and Bae Tami (Search: WWW). I have never watched any GWH's drama so when I started watching I was unfamiliar with her face, but now I see her.

Eric looks dashing as always but this hairstyle makes him looks hot and hotter. Not to mention his figure when in the kitchen.

I've read quite a lot of the comments below and the results are like 50/50. I only watched until episode 2 and so far I enjoyed it, even though I watched it without high expectations. And I also just realized that this drama conflict involves the problem of large companies and rich families. Sometimes it can be very tiring, so I can't blame people who give bad ratings on this drama. But on the other hand this drama also seems light, and I hope that these two aspects run in balance.

Besides, I've seen Ahn Nae Sang in too many dramas with various characters. Quite a lot enough to make me don't give a fucc to his antagonist role here haha i'll let him be

terry Jun 19 2020 2:22 am I liked this show in the beginning. I really enjoyed it until it got to episode 11, then it was hard to watch. It was people making one obviously bad decision after another. I didn't even care that there seemed to be no storyline in the middle because I liked all the characters. Then it became a melodrama in episode 11 and I don't even understand where they were trying to go with the storyline but it literally hit every trope in three episodes. We will see how it plays out but I doubt it will get better now.

JL May 30 2020 1:59 pm It has a good story line but slow in pace at the beginning. It drags and stalls a bit. I guess it may be due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It affected the filming and production. It goes faster after ep 7. It would be more interesting if they added more cooking and sewing scenes. The little girl is so adorable. The low rating may be due to The World of married was airing at the same time.

The story was wonderful!

Also the villain was fantastic! I wanted to jump in my screen and slap him so bad! Just shows you how wonderful an actor is when they make you want to throw hands at them ???

Un modeste admirateur May 14 2020 10:40 am Now, that "Eccentric! Chef Moon" is nearing its end, I want to say that it's a true masterpiece. I can't encourage enough people to watch it. It even managed to displace "Find Me in Your Memory" in my heart, as the best drama of 2020. I frankly underestimated "Eccentric! Chef Moon" during its first few episodes, for which I'm very sorry. It's amazing how much content is packed in this drama. The romantic comedy between chef Moon and designer Bella is extremely entertaining, but it represents just the outer layer. Under it, there are countless layers of depth, which this drama slowly reveals, like the peelings of an onion, and which tackle often complex problems like anorexia, redemption, artistic authenticity... In the beginning, for instance, Im Hyun-A is just a copy-cat stealing Bella's design. But each episode gives her more complexity and more shadows, revealing her visceral struggle to become an artist, and her despair to achieve perfection -- a despair that could cost her life. And this is only Im Hyun-A. I won't have place to cover all the rest. Amazing drama!!!

It would be lovely to have the village people as neighbours as they are so kind and caring. The villain will be punished and his psycho.daughter will be locked up in a mental institution. Un modeste admirateur Apr 15 2020 4:11 pm 6 eps. so far, and "Eccentric! Chef Moon" is surprisingly addictive. I’m finding myself waiting with a smile for new episodes. I’m starting to like even the small imperfections of the drama, on which I insisted too heavily in my previous comment. These small imperfections are like the sour part in a sweet and sour dish : they actually make the dish taste better if you give them time. Overall, this is an extremely heart-warming drama, where ingenuousness and innocence always prevail.

There's beautiful countryside home, nosy ahjumma and ahjussi, useless friend, nowhere daughter and amnesiac fashion designer together with our Chef Moon. Of course the antagonist is quite over the top. Those evil plots, but heck this is kdrama we're watching lol. I'm looking forward to their romance and more Chef Moon dishes please!

By watching ep 4, some of the confusion were cleared out. However, I still don't get some of the relationships. But over all, I love this drama. It is a realllllllllyyy great oneee. realllyy great

Un modeste admirateur Apr 03 2020 2:18 pm "Eccentric! Chef Moon" is really entertaining and enjoyable, provided that you accept its slapstick comedy style. There are some roughnesses here and there in the production quality, but Eric’s fantastic acting manages to mask them all. I like some of the contrasts and similarities, on which the story is built, such as the contrast between a foreign city and a local village, or the similarity between a little girl who has never known her father and a grown woman who has forgotten her past. One flaw in this drama is that the screenwriter loves sudden appearances. New characters are literally just thrown on the screen without transition. When it’s an orphan girl, this method works, because it creates an element of surprise. But at one point, half-way through an episode, the whole Donghan Group is thrown at us, like 7 or 8 new faces, and we don’t have the slightest clew how they relate to anything. It can be disconcerting, at least until we get to know them in the next few episodes.
