Choi Michaela (Lee Sung-Kyung) is a musical actress. She has a special ability to see the lifespan clocks of other people. She meets a man who can stop her time and he falls in love with her.

"About Time" takes over tvN's Monday & Tuesday 21:30 time slot previously occupied by "A Poem A Day” and followed by "Let's Eat 3" on July 16, 2018.
First script reading took place February, 2018 at Studio Dragon in Sangam, South Korea.
Lee Sang-Yoon & Lee Sung-Kyung filmed their first scenes on February 12, 2018 at a restaurant in Gangnam District, Seoul, South Korea.

Jen Yen May 11 2023 9:18 am I thought the acting in this drama was very good. The leads and the support were all great. However, some of the "production" was not so good. For example, the grocery store scene was very unrealistic - the back ground activity was too contrived. More people than were necessary were obviously put in place and made the scene seem contrived. There were other scenes like that (when her mom met Bae Beth and had the fashion dialogue) completely unnecessary.

Zainemarald Nov 05 2021 12:44 pm I love the drama, the first five episodes are magnificent, I loved the chemistry between the lead actor and actress, they fit very well for the roles. I don’t understand why are people complaining, some say they don’t like her character because it seems weak. First the character is not weak, what is she supposed to do! I guess people got used to action dramas and dramas with plots where everyone is cunning. I loved her character she’s strong, adorable, loves people and has a heart of gold. she didn’t want her love to be hurt is this weakness ?. It’s true that the first five episodes are more interesting than the rest of episodes because they contain many romantic scenes but I find all the other episodes interesting and meaningful. The writer has done a good job actually by showing a lot of situations about time. Thanks !

Maine Jun 09 2021 3:03 pm This drama started well enough. But after the first 3 episodes, it went stale fast. I feel bad for Lee Sang Yoon. He's a very good actor and I generally like all his dramas (except, apparently, for this), but this one just failed to show how good he is.

The casting is bad. Lee Sung Kyung's character was okay at first but became irritating very fast. Her reticence about being with Do Ha did not make sense at all. It's a very weak and very immature character. Until the end. I felt bad that Doha just had to continually run after her.

The director, supposedly a "main supporting character" but had fewer scenes (and use) than the bestfriend whose actress didn't show emotions well. The characterization of Mika's family was also annoying.

I had to force myself to finish this because of Sang Yoon. I missed his character in Second Twenties so much. Do Ha had a lot of potential but bad script, bad editing, and bad directing ruined it. I hope he gets better projects in the future.

Btw why subong speak that way like a retard mental person. Sound funny and worse everytime she speak up kinda annoying.i hope this story stopped dragging and have more funny comedy moment. Love mika in weighlifting fairy and doha in my daughter soo young. Hope this drama will meet my expectation at least.

I got frustrated with mika’s character because she looks more like the typical weak female lead character after every episode. I skipped so many scenes towards the finale but i dont think i left out any important scenes. This drama is okay but i dont think i will recommend it to anyone. Its a 5/10 for me.

Doha’s brother death is the only scene that touches me and really made me cry. I think it would be better to keep the brother alive for a few more episodes before killing him off.

Tuesday Apr 19 2019 2:30 am I like this Kdrama because of its unique plot. Most actors were in character especially Bae Su Bong or Beth. I think it's my first time seeing her act and she is quite good. As for the Lee-Lee couple or lead characters, I commend their natural chemistry and good acting as well. The lead actresa was surprisingly good at singing too. Wow! Although there were some parts of the script that was a bit dragging, I still recommend this drama. It's worth watching!

Nicole Dec 14 2018 8:28 am Goods points of the drama are -plot especially during the first episodes because woah sort of new concept but as you go through the episodes, the story deviates from the main plot about the clock of people's lives. Romance and other things are inevitable but i just do not get the inconsistent behavior of the clock. It cannot be changed but doing suicide can. I mean is that only possible for doing negative things. Cant they change it for the better? Second, how did she stop seeing the clock and how was their times distributed. Cmon the "accident" is too lacking it's like poof all the problems are solved sinve she doesnt it. Ghad they started it with clock thingy but ended up with ugh - ok another good point is im semi's acting. She's totally good. She nailed her character and more than the leads, her character's the most justified one. Honestly speaking, she's with doha first. Doha even asked her marriage thingy and shits and sudddenly a new girl appeared and she was left alone. The desperation, pain and sadness were expressed well. How do these things can change someone and how.can someone stand up again for herself. Her acting was too good so the portrayal's.excellent as well. -last strong point is the supporting roles. They made the story humorous andnot boring through their funny interactions.

The acting of the leads and all the support made this drama beautiful... The love between the leads and how they endure for each other is the beauty of this drama. It has its fair share of humor thus making it more fun to watch. I've never got bored. Highly recommend it.

I cried a lot, those moments of distance and watching each other from afar.

I recommend this drama. I love the ending and their intertwined past. :)

ilvia Aug 13 2018 8:05 pm At first the drama seemed very good and the idea for the plot was really interesting. However, the more you watch it, the more sad and depressive the episodes get. I enjoyed Lee Sang Yoon's performance, even though I found the character he played immature sometimes. Lee Sung Kyung's acting was great!! But the drama... I wouldn't recommend it. It's really hard to watch at some point because everyone is crying, lying and missing each other... I just wanted to relax myself a little but I couldn't. I found the supportive characters of the drama very annoying (especially Mi Ka's mother). Gotta also say something about Han Seung Yeon's poor acting - a real disappointment.

If you are searching for a happy comedy drama - you found the wrong way. If you're searching for a sad drama - About Time is one of them, but I'd recommend watching Just Between Lovers which has better supportive characters and is really worth watching.

About time? Aug 13 2018 1:46 pm I regret watching this drama. At first i actually liked the first few episodes. Then when it reached mid to last it all went downhill especially the ending! It just didn’t make sense. It was a watebof time!

Kdrama Aug 11 2018 10:17 pm Lee Sang Yoon is always great to watch! I also really enjoy Lee Sung Kyung's take on various characters. I like that she has played non-traditional roles in her past dramas. This drama was a little disappointing. I was expecting more of a fresh take and a departure from the typical Kdrama lead lady style. The drama has some good moments but towards the middle it starts to drag a bit. The story seemed develop a bit too quickly and not enough time getting to know the characters.

Goods point is the starting of the plot and Bae Soo Bong acting in this story.

I do feel Bae Soo Bong here, I mean she did nothing wrong to feel that pain so much, it's just that, all of a sudden the one that she loves the most get in love with someone else. If you try to deep thought of it, she is the first, she was the one who has the right to complain about, she has the right to do whatever that she wanted to do, because if you try to fill yourself on her shoes will you just give up if you know in the first place that he was yours at first? that someone just came in between? that someone get him to you? it was a desperate move of her, i know, but what i mean is , Mi Ka was the one to blame at the first place,she was the one who flirted the man first without love she just needed him, did everything of not considering who was gonna hurt. If it is a true to life story Miss Bae Soo Bong will be the main lead and Mi Ka will be the antagonist. But going back to the story and going to the Protagonist, I loved it, because she gives hope to everyone who has nothing left on their time clock, we all knew that its really impossible to see how much of your time left in true life and i believe that no one will, but this story has a life lesson to learn to some person who new that their time is ticking those who are sick, i believe, If your sick and you knew that you have a little time left, you will do the same as what mika did. you wouldn't want someone you love to just waste their time with you. you will just wish him to live his life to the fullest without worrying. But this story tells us that no matter how long or short your life is, you still deserved to be loved and be loved.

These people cant feel any emotions (who saying "it was boring" or "ending is stupid" etc) so thats why they lowering ratings of this amazing show. They will never understand real love and happiness, because they only like action and absurd thrillers. Just believe me and you wont regret this. Its amazingly done and beatifully made piece of work with outstanding story and acting.

So, what i can say is, the first 8 episodes was hilarious, fun, and i enjoyed it. Later on, the story plotting decline as there is not much romance, chemistry between the two lead role is obviously not so good. Please don't make a story plotting where the female lead so stubborn and avoiding from being loved. Viewer will get annoyed! I bet that.

This drama will be more enjoyable if there is second male lead syndrome. ❤️

Overall, i manage to watched it until the final episode, and they wrap it up nicely.Well done! I recommend it to you, if you are lee sung kyung fans, and love melodrama genre.

Sung Kyung Jul 18 2018 3:45 am The drama started out fine but as it reaches around episode 7 or 8 it started getting a little boring. I think they dragged too much on the breakup part. There's too much of " i love you but we can't be together " scenes which makes it boring & annoying.

Besides that, i can't feel the chemistry between the male lead & female lead. I could feel the love from Mi Ka to Do Ha in the drama but I can't feel anything from Do Ha. This is my personal opinion, i honestly felt that sang yoon's acting wasn't that good.

But i gotta say that the actor's and actress acting were good enough, it was just that the script wasn't written nicely. I hope all the cast gets to be in a drama with better storyline next time, especially lee sung kyung. her acting was really good, it was just the plot that makes this drama not enjoyable.

Overall, although the story line was bad, but i think this drama taught me to care & put more effort in being with our friends and family as we wouldn't know when their time would be up.

And i am Lee Sangyoon fan ( i like how his face act the sad scene which make me cry and hurt with his character - he look like a version of Jang Nara for me ) and i am Lee Sungkyung fan ( i like her since her first debut drama and the first impression she give me so strong that i hope she can be the next top actress - but i don't like her character in Weighlifting drama since it is too childish and cute which make me cringy and i stop on second episode - so i'm glad i can see her again in this drama and this bring back all character that she acted to me, in which i came to realized again 'ah ~ she will be the next top'). Honestly i dont understand why you guys say this drama boring. First let me highlight again that this is a MELODRAMA so you need to expect that kind of sad scene with tears and Mika's crying scene. For me, i can fall into the character and i understand completely what the plot like that. And also why with SooBong character. Yes, Doha ask her for marry first but it is before he meet Mika which is before his anxiety become better. Come on people, i dont want to type anymore. Just understand the flow properly. Just drop the drama if you dont like. Like how i drop Wok Of Love (eventhough i am a fan of Jang Hyuk) because it is so cringy to watch the leads and there are too many scenes of them too. Last but not least, yeah~ Just give clap too writer. I think this is a perfectly fine script and scene - which got accepted by TVN to invest in this and make this a drama. Bye bye.

The reason why I watched this drama was because I am a fan of Lee Sung Kyun and anything she’s in I will watch. I really loved her in her previous dramas “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo” and I also loved her in “Cheese In The Trap” but I really didn’t like her character in “About Time”. Lee Sung Kyun’s character in About Time was frustrating and she was also annoying. Around episode 8 the story of this drama starts to drag and the plot got really boring. The ending of this drama was also unrealistic. Overall I don’t recommend anyone to watch this’s drama because it is a waste. I feel bad for Lee asking Kyun and I hope she gets better roles than this in th future.

hara Jul 15 2018 12:22 pm been fans of lee sang hyun for 5 years but unfortunately, this drama just isn't for me. i almost drop it but finished it anyway because i have this annoying habit which can't drop any single dramas i started :") the start and idea itself was nice, but in the middle it gets really draggy and predictable. spoiler alert: i kinda feel bad for bae soo bong. ldh was the one asked for marriage, to ditch her that easy for a girl u just met is just... too much don't u think? this is like harry borrison all over again sigh, I'm glad they at least gave a nice ending for her. and choi mika... seriously? almost half the ep is about the push and pull relationship because of that stupid clock :(

im not blaming the actors/actresses here, in fact they did a great job (heck, i really enjoyed the musical scenes + kim dong joon smile is just everything), but the script kinda let it down. I'm glad sang hyun took this role tho, i was so frustrated after moving on from whisper. last but not least, good job to all casts, i'll be waiting for y'all future projects!

Sunday Jul 12 2018 1:59 pm The first half of this drama was nice to watch, but the second half began to drag. I honestly didn't pay much attention to some scenes because I knew they weren't important. I'm not sure what went wrong on the second half. Either the writer was running out of ideas or had too much ideas but couldn't cram them all up in those few episodes left (I'm not sure if this makes sense.) I just felt that there were some issues that were created unnecessarily when they could have filled it in with something else. Also, I began to get annoyed by Lee Sung Kyung's character, Choi Mika. She was frustrating.

They got a lot of great actors/actresses, so it's a shame the drama wasn't better, at least in my opinion. It wasn't horrible, but I definitely wouldn't watch it again because it was simply boring during the second half.

Many people watched this drama and stopped after some episodes but I'm glad I stayed till the end. This drama is going to be one of my favourite kdramas all the time. The actors & the actresses have done their job very well. I really love Lee Sang Yoon and Lee Sung Kyung in this drama. It'll be better if the plot isn't poorly written and the logic of the story is clearly explained.

kdramalover Jul 11 2018 6:30 pm I was initially attracted to this drama by the names of excellent actors whom I really like, but watching this series was time wasted.

The basic concept of how we use time in our lives may have had potential, but the screenwriter(s) and the director could not do anything interesting with it. The excellent actors acted professionally. They did their best and gave us some good moments. But they could not rescue the weak, disjointed script.

Some of the characters such as Choe Mika's mother or her brother Choe Wi-JIn were badly written and had no humor. When the plot was at a dead-end, new characters popped-up out of nowhere. Then they disappeared just as quickly such as Kim Joon-Ah the former girl friend of the main character Lee Do-Ah or his half-brother Yoon Do-San.

At the end of a drama, the final two episodes of a drama often show in a sharp light the qualities of screenwriters and the skills of directors. In great dramas such as "Mother" or "Rain or Shine", the final two episodes bring the entire story to a beautiful, moving close. The same is also true of good comedies about today's life. And we feel good.

In "About Time", the final episode tells us, one more time, that screenwriters and directors never knew where they were going with their plot and were not capable of creating convincing characters and/or moments. So, in the last episode they serve us a messy pile of short clips from the previous 15 eps. Who will feel good with that?

I should have watched one of my old favorites instead of "About Time".

We must see it ourselves because everyone has different taste.

sienna Jul 11 2018 10:15 am what i can say about this show: its first half was decent and great. but after doha's brother died, the story and plot dragged too much to the point that many of us didn't have the strength to watch this anymore. there was even noble idiocy which was predictable. i'm glad that it was a happy ending though. i really wish lee sang yoon and lee sung kyung will work together again one day in a project that's way better. i loved their chemistry and behind the scenes footage. these two and the other members of the cast deserved so much better than this.

i also wish they played the fantasy element even more. many parts were left untold. then with the romance, i wanted more between doha and mika, not separation.... not dragging whatever.

In the first few episodes, they were good, because we will be intrigued with a new concept of people can look through a life's clock. But the drama itself doesn't use this concept as a whole. In later episodes, they were too draggy, tiresome, and boring. We couldn't even feel the love sparks between the leads. To consider that Sang Hyun and Sung Kyung are talented artistes, this drama is actually bringing them down. The only thing that I had always been looking forward to, was only Rowoon's character who's much fluffier than the leads. To rate this, I will give it a 5/10

There are many questions left blank that could have been answered if the drama did not focus on unnecessary little plots in the drama 3. episode by episode the drama can get very boring and tiresome

Overall view: when I first read the synopsis I couldn't wait to watch this drama. However, after watching it, I have to admit I was very disappointed as many things did not make sense and the concept could have been portrayed better. I do not recommend this drama.

Firstly, i was so close to stop watching this drama half way through ep 16 because i honestly thought Lee Do Ha was going to die. I couldn't bear the thought of a sad ending because through out the drama, there are sad parts that i cried to. So the fact that Lee do Ha was alive and it was a happily ever after really put me of guard. The ending, plot and cast were all amazing. And I have to say, this drama did pretty well even though they had to re film parts due to the drop out of Lee So Won. Definitely one of my favourite dramas.

Val Jul 09 2018 1:44 am For a tvN drama, I had high expectations for this drama - since most of the dramas tvN has produced that I've seen have been really entertaining and top-quality notch. I was super disappointed in this drama which is a complete letdown and total waste of Lee Sang Yoon, Lee Sung Kyung and Dongjun's talents. Firstly the concept of this drama when it was introduced sounded intriguing with the idea of seeing people's life clocks. Unfortunately the way they delivered the concept falls flat and very, I mean VERY poorly executed. The drama is BORING, slow and gets dragged along. The minor characters, especially Mika's family are annoying and take up a lot of the screen time. Also Seungyeon as an actress, I don't really buy her acting - she's weak. I get her character is supposed to be the main character's annoying airhead bestfriend but she overexaggerates her lines and facial expressions way too much to the point you can spot the fake and see she's trying waaaay too hard. But yes, she ALSO gets A LOT of the screentime as opposed to the main couple.

Honestly I would skip the drama all together. I haven't completely dropped it as I want to see how the ending pans out, but you can do what I've been doing and just skip around the irrelevant characters parts in each episode lol. Which 40 minutes is a complete filler, waste of time, K-Drama cliché story lines aka: Family trying to mooch off the main character, Love interest's family of the main-character disapprove of their relationship and step in to make the girl miserable, and the love interest's past love and the main characters rival come around and stirs up drama. And the main couples parts which altogether is maybe 20 minutes the max at most

i'm on episode 10 now though and it may sound dumb but this drama has to much drama in it. the 'love triangle' between mika, doha and ms. bae got super messy and in-between it got a love square through joona - who actually played a major role in doha's past and she was apparentl also partly responsible for his traumas. but they said goodbye to her after 2 episodes. she would've had much more 'potential' to be a love interest. the connection was there, she even made him falter on their first meeting after 5 years - as proven by mika's life clock - and obviously still had feelings for him. instead we get ms. bae, a woman who could do so much better and be succesful, as a love rival. and her only purpose is to be the 'crazy love rival who'll do anything to get the man'. there is no depth to her. hell, we know jaejoo better than her. i hope they don't use him to make him fall in love with mika as his 'first love to get out of his slump' but unfortunately, i don't think i'll be that lucky. too much is happening too fast in this drama and you can't let anything sink in like that. to be totally honest, i also kinda don't like the 9-year age difference between the 2 main leads but more important would be for doha to settle this messy business he has with ms. bae once and for all.

but i still like this drama's concept! and the interactions between seohee and wijin, jaejoo and joona or his aunt or dosan and hyeyoung are really what kept me watching. i wished the drama wouldn't force the romance like this at times and instead focus on the interactions of the characters all-around instead. 'little gestures show how much we love each other' was actually something that was mentioned on one of the radio channels in the show and i'd hope the show would show the little gestures.

i'll continue watching it later and see where it'll go. please have fun watching this drama <3

Well Lee Sung- Kyung never seize to impress me since I saw her acting in cheese in the trap I've been so impressed. I also love the smile of Im Se-Mi. P.s, come to think of it, if Lee Seowon had not been removed from this drama, he'll be reunited with Seung Yeon! (They previously acted together on "Last Minute Romance" if you didn't know!)

Remember, Lee Sang Yoon's leading lady in Liar Game was several years younger than he was and that worked well. I'm looking forward to this.

But that's not even important here, simply because they're both great actors and the plot sounds amazing so I'm excited to see what it'll be like. Idk what the chemistry will be like, but he usually pulls it off w/ his female counterparts and she's very charming for her age so it won't be bad! Fighting!

He was simply amazing in Seoyoung my Daughter and Whisper with Lee Bo Young, Angel Eyes, Liar Game, On the Way to the Airport and many more. Give him a chance!

Plus, I'm glad Lee Sung Kyung gets to be paired with someone older. Not way older, but older. At least it's not a 10-year gap (but 9, which isn't so bad at all). In the drama itself, we won't even notice that LSY is 9 years older. So yeah before you make up stories, please research and watch dramas first.

You don't need to have some go minam-looked or chiseled-looked actor to embody the character. All you need is an impeccable acting ability and this man proves over and over again how good he is at his job so you guys should just respect that and wait for the drama to air before judging anything. Some people watch dramas for their fav actors but some people like me watch dramas for the dramas themselves
