Set on Jeju Island, Seok-Geun (Lee Sung-Min) is a middle-aged man and he works as a taxi driver. He is married to Dam-Deok (Jang Young-Nam). Seok-Geun constantly cheats on his wife, but it doesn't mean he does not love his wife.

Meanwhile, his younger sister is Mi-Young (Song Ji-Hyo) and she is married to Bong-Soo (Shin Ha-Kyun). They live right next door to Seok-Geun and his wife. Mi-Young and Bong-Soo runs an Italian restaurant, but their restaurant isn't doing very well. Bong-Soo wants to convert the restaurant to a Chinese restaurant, but Mi-Young ignores him. Bong-Soo can't understand his brother-in-law's proclivity to have affairs. Everything changes when Je-Ni (Lee El) appears in front of Bong-Soo.

"What a Man Wants" is a remake of 2011 Czech film "Muži v naději" ("Men in Hope").

Ppps May 23 2018 7:32 am Just finished watching the movie and I really enjoyed it...I personally don’t enjoy movies with plots that involve infidelity or showcases too many steamy scenes in the name of artistic liberty....this one, however, was subtle,funny and less sleazy....all the characters are flawed which makes it all the more realistic and relatable....each character cheats on his/her spouse for different reasons....some to fight loneliness and some to just enjoy the thrill of it....the movie tries to answer the age old question which is “ what men want”... the movie shows that most men like to have an affair or two in their lifetime,for different reasons, but do not want to give up on the pleasures and wholesomeness of a family or homely life....the men in this story are not heartless and not just mere sex addicts....men lust,maybe more than women,but they sure do know to love as well....Seok Gun’s grief over his wife’s demise was not just the result of his sense of guilt....Seok Gun becomes enraged and jealous upon learning the fact that his wife had cheated on him with her masseuse.More so,when Seok Gun tries to prove to the masseuse that his wife loved him more than her lover, it showed how much Seok Gun had cared for and loved his wife to vie for her love and affection even after her death. This, I actually found very endearing. Bong soo too couldn’t get intimate with Je ni and could only do so after they bonded emotionally and developed a friendly relationship.... The actors were very good....the comic timing was perfect....the hide and seek scenes between the actors were just hilarious,especially the scene at the restaurant....It definitely is an interesting watch.

sana May 20 2018 1:42 pm okay so I watched the movie and was left feeling unsatisfied. It's a good movie! Makes you think about how easy it is to cheat on someone you made a vow to be faithful to but I did not like how it ended? It needed to be resolved and some things went unexplained.

I saw someone posted "So what does a Man want?" after they watched the movie and I think this film shows how greedy some men are? also women! they want what they can't have and then when they might have to face the consequence they're suddenly repentant??

I have no idea how to describe this film. It left me thoughtful.

(i only have a feeling that they're dropping it because its been months ever since the filming ended and there have been no news.)
