A miraculous love story is told where married couple Baek Hyun-Woo (Kim Soo-Hyun) and Hong Hae-In (Kim Ji-Won) go through a crisis.

Baek Hyun-Woo works as the legal director for conglomerate Queens Group. He is the most successful person to have come from his hometown village of Yongdu-ri and he is the pride of that village. Baek Hyun-Woo is married to Hong Hae-In, who is the daughter of the family that owns and operates Queens Group. She is known as the "Arrogant Queen” at Queens Department Store.

Weesie Oct 05 2025 2:43 pm I agree with others, that it was pretty much full of Kdrama cliche’s, but the acting was so good…beautiful couple and beautiful love story…and great life lessons on what’s really important in life. I love the way they wove Hyun Woo’s sweetness and lovely feelings and confessions into the story. I was wowed by it in many ways and also frustrated by the back and forth happiness and tragicness they both suffered. But still, well worth watching. I do agree, that many of these dramas could be a little shorter and still get the story across.

Beverly Coburn Aug 28 2025 2:36 pm I totally loved queen of tears. I have watched in its entirety over 20 times. The lead actors chemistry is phenomenal. You have to love them! This movie may not be for everyone, but the one’s that it is for, it is awesome. I would have not let Mr. Yoon die. I think we needed to have him reflect on all the awful things he had done. I wanted to see him feel the pain that he had caused others. And I would have given Hae In and Hyun woo a better love ending. After all that they went through, I think the ending deserved more of them. More dramatic and more romantic! But overall, it is one of my favorite movie of all times (the cast was awesome. Everyone played their part well).

Rich wife that loves her poor background husband but still acts cold towards him? Why not just love him right in the first place? 16 episodes was a stretch. 8 episodes would have been enough. Memory loss? Predictable break up? I couldn't watch it all the way. I just skipped to the very end. I think the whole storyline of a chaebol dating someone with a poor background, being cold to them but secretly loving them has to come to an end. We've had enough

Partnership, family, friends, love, mutual trust and respect. You can see how easily misunderstandings can arise and that people should talk to each other more often. It was also nice to see how some people got a second chance. Then there's the great chemistry between the two leads Kim Ji-Won and Kim Soo-Hyun. What I also found remarkable was that the episodes of the series lasted up to 1.5 hours. Really remarkable how much content was delivered in the 16 episodes without being boring for a single moment.

Kdrama Llama Feb 03 2025 6:54 am I may have to rewatch this show one day with the knowledge this isn’t actually a romcom and perhaps my disappointment will go… I’ve come to think of it as a love story in reverse but I’m not convinced it really worked… There were definitely elements of Queen of Tears I really enjoyed, the ML and FL have amazing chemistry, and the ML is cute as a button, FLs wardrobe is fire but were too many people in it I didn’t like or care about, mostly FLs family... Only her clueless brother and feisty aunt had any redeeming features and I didn’t understand the motivations of “the bad guys” at all, let it go! My favourite episodes were probably the juxtaposition of the down on their luck rich family living in a small town plus the wholly unexpected cameo (a lawyer who shall remain nameless!) which made me squeal!

KimKim Oct 13 2024 7:46 am This drama is one of the best kdrama of 2024. The acting of Ji Won and Soo Hyun are superb. The leads shown a great chemistry and versatility. This made me tune in again to watch kdramas. The love story of BaekHong is truly warmth and touching. Although, I am hoping for more lovely scenes between the leads, however this show gave a lot of angst!! hahahaha!! As I rewatched again and again the show, I realized that this is the type of love story that hong haein described in the episode with eunsong. A love that is present not only in the good times but a love that is much stronger in tough times and a decision to stay despite those hardships. P.S.I love the epilogues scenes!! This is a well written drama!

Great show! Great actors/actresses! Great Directors! Great Writer!

Ish Aug 25 2024 11:54 am Among the best dramas I've seen so far. I only discovered K-dramas a year or two ago, but I've become hooked and can't watch Hollywood films any more. This drama is rich, with wonderful, excellent actors who complement each other perfectly. The story is moving and often echoes scenes from our real life. A good 9.5 :-)

Well it is really expected that the scenes of the ep16 will be like ep 16 but I just felt it it is not the best version of ep.16. I feel 9r think taht it can be more beautiful and interesting. Aghhh, Im not ready to say goodbye to Hyunwoo yet. In this drama i realized that first love never dies - I revived my love for Kim Soohyun. Queen of Tears 9/10 for me.

The chemistry between the leads was strong even though the script gave the couple a lot of ups and downs. But in a way that's WHY I kept watching till the end. The supportive cast was also excellent. I can see why it received such high ratings in Korea.

The storyline is good but for me the execution is lame. It's predictable with too slow pace and many unnecessary scenes. They could just finish it in 12 episodes.

I had to come back to check the reviews again and I'm glad I'm not totally off. This drama really isn't very good. I Did Not enjoy. Skipped through most of it and I don't plan on revisiting it ever. Has to be one of the most expensive flops of 2024. Was CLOY a fluke? How did the same writer create this? I mean, the only thing missing from this expensive soap opera, or rather, melodrama, is a long-lost sibling returning from the dead. What a waste.

Bee Jun 11 2024 11:14 am I loved the cinematography in this series and it made a great impact on conveying the actors emotions and lines. Aunt Boem Ja was my absolute favorite in this drama and I'll rate this an 8.7/10 because the storyline was creative although at some point in the drama it seemed the storyline was not flowing really well and the final episode was a bit too long and seemed rushed. I believe the cast worked together so well and I felt sad when Hong Man-Dae had to die. Kim Ji-Won did great as well and I loved how she embodied her role, loved her from "Fight for my way"

pmy Jun 08 2024 9:26 pm The drama is so good especially the chemistry of the FL and ML. plus Kim Soo Hyun is soo good with comedy! I was surprised by the negative reviews that were just Comparing the show to the other.

This type of drama was just slow paced and not so heavy which I get that many people won’t like. If only you paid attention to the whole drama itself you’ll really like it. It was sooo wholesome and the build up to when Baek Hyunwoo realized that his love for Haein was still there. Such a nice and comforting drama. Ya’ll just need to chill and enjoy watching the drama without having too much expectations. That’s when you understand and enjoy it! I’ll put this drama together with my top kdrama list!?

I like both leads but this kind of storyline seems overused and quite dragging. The snippets I've seen already painted me enough picture to give me the feeling of plenty of dead scenes. I've known both leads for years now and their capabilities as actors but idk why they're lacking in this. I don't feel the chemistry at all. Before I watch a kdrama I tend to wait until it finished then see some previews before diving in. what I saw from this, wasn't giving.

I don't feel the deep love between the husband and wife. Its full of toxic character . FL acting also very common. Even Kim Soo Hyun's acting not that great. I feel annoyed when I saw his crying scene ? I dont feel sad watching him crying. Thank god I dropped this drama early. I do watch the ending. Very ordinary and not that great.

Nana May 22 2024 2:55 pm Imo the drama was very good because it was so investing and it was causing a roallercoaster of emotions. However it could have been better if the writer didn`t waste too much time on useless plots and be more focused on logic e.g. miscarriage was adressed shallow. I think that the main leads KJW and KSH - their chemistry and Fantastic acting skills saved this show, but still we`ve been robbed from their love-story. I was mesmerized by KJW+KSW chemistry, it was so natural and I couldn`t sense at some points if they are still acting or alredy not.

I don`t understand why this person "Your bud" is reffering to Song Hye Kyo - she was good in the glory because her character was "emotionless" so she nailed it....lol XD Basically why do compare an actor to an actor and dare to mention who coud play some character, you have no idea how the chemistry would work between two other leads since they weren`t set-up in this exact project XD save your wet dreams or delulu for yourself XD

The storyline of this drama is kinda dragging, idk if its just me but i think the chemistry not so powerful and i skipped alot of scenes too. But i still love them both and really waiting for their next project.

NY May 15 2024 3:27 pm I don’t get the hype. Really. It was just ok at best. Not many likable characters. The Hong family redeemed themselves after they lost everything and began to cherish family more. The villain was laughably obsessed over the main girl. His motives lacked consistency. I wasn’t convinced if it was really money or Hae-In’s love he actually wanted. Korean dramas need to do a better job at portraying hospital settings. It doesn’t make sense that anyone can just waltz in to a hospital and claim they’re someone’s guardian—especially someone who is high profile. It had some funny and interesting parts here and there but by the end, it just became outrageous with the stuff they were pulling. This show is a total makjang.

Daisy May 14 2024 7:29 am Such a great and beautiful Kdrama. TBH, I personally think the writer could have done better with the whole plot but it could have been becoz of the editing. This drama should have been 20episodes. Having said that I would still give 10/10 of this series. The FL and ML chemistry is amazing and out of this world. I can’t keep my eyes of them throughout the whole drama. KJW is so charming, cute, charismatic and captivating while KSH is always nailing the lines, emotions and cry. I also love the other casts particularly Aunt Beomja character. One of the best Kdrama and worth watching for. Thank you QoT team for this masterpiece.

Michael May 04 2024 5:52 am Q of T is a beautifully written, acted and directed drama. The cast was skilfully chosen so both leads Kim Ji Won and Kim Soo Hyun excellent. Some gems were chosen, Hae In’s brother, hilarious and brilliant, the Aunt great and many others. Clever casting. Also, like CLOY, big dashes of humour. Too many great acting parts to name alll.

Now about the tropes that people are complaining about - I think this drama tried to be a kdrama classic. Great actors, great script, good story, excellent casting, strong directing.  To be a classic, you need the classic tropes you can see by the Korean ratings that they loved it. It was so beautifully done it will go down in history as a classic example of KDrama, partly because every trope was well executed. 
My only complaint was the tacked on final minutes after Hae In died. Actually don’t think that added anything. But the ending of CLOY was that brilliant drama’s weakest point too!

Well done Netflix. Loved it.

This is a kind of drama that you should watch while it is still on going, just for you to finish it. Because if you try to binge watch it, you will try to skip some scenes. It is a good drama but NOT top tier.

Love KSH May 03 2024 7:53 pm I really wanted to like this series. I started it and was bored right off the bat. I got half way and thought "oh it may pick up!". And here I am on episode 14, ignoring most of the dialogue. It's really boring. So many great actors but there is literally no storyline that makes sense. I could tell right off the bat that these people were crooks, so how could they not. Ha In says she stopped associating with Eun Seung because he did things that caused her to struggle but yet smiled in his face when she thought he had something that would help her out. Her brother is believed to be stupid but they let him cause them to lose everything because they refused to listen to the guy they all thought of as being smart. The only people who was really interesting was the whole Baek family everyone else was insufferable. This series is taking me too long to watch because I really don't care about how it ends. Just make it end.

I love the character development especially of the main leads and the ending Is actually good as its very realistic, we'll get to live with our loved ones and say goodbye when right time comes. I also like how there's not so many aggressive kisses and bedscenes like how most kdramas nowadays have, I like how they keep it pure and just romantic that all ages in a fam could watch it comfortably. I did cry with every episode, plot really went all out but I like how its so unpredictable, the lines they throw are just beautifully written, it made me emphatized a lot ig this is why I ain't into teen stuff and childish shows and kdrama plots. QoT is just the best, I hope for more projects and achievements for these wonderful cast. I don't usually finish an entire episode much more watch and wait when its ongoing but I did in this drama, its really good. I guess I'll be stuck with it for long... Haha

The popularity of QoT, aside from all the media hype (by its publicity agents), is mainly due to the carrying power of its high caliber lead actors KSY and KJW. Plot and script-wise, Park Ji-eun has done a much far better job on CLOY. And direction wise, as well as story-wise, KSY was far better directed and characterized in IOTNBO.

We experience most of the scenes in our lives, and when I saw these problems serially, I cried. All the difficult moments and difficulties and discomfort will be fixed in the end. I had depression and when I started this series, I enjoyed it a lot, I forgot the hardships of my life and entered the world of the series for a moment, I cried and laughed every moment and this series was able to keep me alive in these difficult and exhausting days. and do not disappoint. We were always waiting for the next episode and it was the only series that I never got tired of and never dropped. Every moment showed one of the hardships of life. How when one of the family members was not well, the others stayed by his side and finally understood and cared about him. They regretted their wrong actions and tried to forget the past and live a better life full of love and affection. to experience In my opinion, this series was excellent in all respects and really had a very emotional and beautiful atmosphere and I understood it. Thank you to all the actors, directors, actors and those who worked hard to show this series in the best possible way. Don't be tired.❤️??

The screenplay was really good, even I was very impressed with every scene that could capture the scenery behind the actor as well. Especially I liked the scene at the lavender farm. The plot is really like a roller coaster, you're made to be happy and instantly dropped down. All the actors who play in this drama are very good. Even I can feel sad and upset through their acting.

Although the story got a little less good towards the end, but I'm glad they tried to make it better afterwards. It's a very pretty ending, accompanied by a conflict resolution that I think is pretty well resolved. This drama amazes me, and it reminds me of my real life that sometimes life can't be what we want it to be. As a couple, we also need to be there for them when they are happy or sad, sick or healthy. Thanks to TVN, CJN and all the staff involved, I'll definitely give it a 10 (based on my opinion).

So, Hyun-Woo just like the old man that both saw before, he also like him. Always visited his wife's grave because he just love and miss his wife. Overall, I am satisfied with the ending. And also, at the end, it was Soo Hyun who sang the ost,right? Aah,his voice!!!

Love this drama. Kim Soo Hyun is always be one of my favourite actor.

This production fell short of expectations on multiple levels, ultimately leaving me questioning its direction and execution. The storyline felt incredibly unrealistic and contrived. The plot twists were far-fetched and lacked any semblance of authenticity, making it difficult to suspend disbelief and fully engage with the narrative. Instead of drawing viewers in with compelling storytelling, the drama relied heavily on clichés and predictable tropes, resulting in a narrative that felt forced and uninspired. The characters often coming across as caricatures rather than fully developed individuals, the dialogue felt stilted and overly simplistic, and the overall sense of the drama being juvenile and lacking in depth. The acting performances were good, childish sometimes and superb on some dramatic scenes, Kim Soo Hyun deserves his king title, Kwak Dong Yeon was amazing as well, Kim Ji Won could do better but then again what she can do when the script itself is all over the place... all cast did well into their respective roles. Overall, QoT failed to live up to its potential and left me feeling profoundly disappointed. While I appreciate the effort that goes into creating any piece of entertainment, this drama missed the mark in terms of storytelling, character development, and overall execution. I would not recommend it to fellow kdrama enthusiasts, as there are far much better options available that offer more engaging and rewarding viewing experiences.

They act very well but I don’t really feel the chemistry between them. There’s too many cringe moments in some episodes and I feel like the lead actress is trying so hard to portray her character. With regard to the story, I honestly don’t find it quite special and interesting as the other popular dramas I have watched like CLOY, My Love from the star, 18 again, Because this is my first life, and more. It seems there’s a lot going on in the story line, too many coincidences, twists, and extraordinary instances that create too many mishaps in the lead characters’ love story. The plot is all over the place. Some parts are predictable, annoying, and unrealistic. I also think Haein’s character is too gullible and stupid to believe a stranger about who she was and not even consult her family first. Also, I am not quite sure about what the feeling or emotion the writer is trying to convey as there are parts about hiring a hitman to kill someone which is too evil but then at one point, the story turns quite the opposite with its lighthearted and funny moments. I feel like watching a Filipino or Mexican telenovela lol. Beomja’s character and love story is my favorite in this drama.

While the storyline can be frustrating, the storytelling is beautifully done. The actors brought their characters to life. So many lovable characters that you’d want to root for as well. I usually don’t hype rom-com/romance in general. But this one has brought back my love for romance/comedy. It’s really hard to explain.

Cinematography is amazing, Kim Ji won and Kim soo Hyun went above and beyond, they conveyed their emotions so well that you feel their hurt and joy leaking through the screen.

While the story can be seen as a bit messy, it is still very enjoyable, each week they have you curiously guessing what will happen. The drama itself is supposed to just tell you a story of how a married couple who were having marital issues overcome everything that was thrown their way. To me it shows that love wins all.

Yes the bad guys have been winning and it’s annoying but when do the bad guys not ever annoy us? It’s a drama, so it won’t always make sense. If you go in and enjoy it for what it is, you will appreciate the beauty of it. It has made me laugh, cry, angry and sad. It has triggered all of my emotions.

The focus of the story is still on how the couple will overcome everything together. Through thick and thin. Idk if it’s because I got married not too long ago but it really makes you want to love again if that makes any sense. lol. It almost makes you want to do better in your marriage for those who are married also. ? I love Hae In’s definition of love as well. It’s not about whispering sweet nothings, love is when you endure the pain together. When you choose to stay instead of running away. Sticking together no matter what.

This is just my opinion but I enjoy every bit of this show and I am sad that it is coming to an end. I do plan I binging the either thing once it’s over.

Oh btw, the OST is amazing! It elevates the scenes and immerse you even more. I haven’t felt this way for any drama in a long time.

i would suggest this drama especially if you dont mind the stress, the a bit messy plot (my personal take, do not let this get to you hshs), the miscommunication and many more! i promise if you would cry at every ep bc damnnnn i cried so much, my face every monday morning but who cares?? at least i got good cries the whole weekend

KSH and KJW shone so bright it was blinding. The scene where Hyun Woo finds Hae In outside the church and they cry together was so well done and so emotional it had my tears flowing. Gosh I love them. Also frick off to Eun Sung. He's the one who kept stalking Hae In and being obsessive over her. The nerve to tell Hae In that Hyun Woo is the stalker... Anyways , I just wish. Just wish that my Hae In and Hyun Woo have a very happy ending. That's all. Goodbye.

either way, in fact this drama in a lot of scenes is just unrealistic, too dramatic, and having way more of conflicts that it actually needs. a real makjang. some prefer may like this but i personally dont. 7/10

This drama reminded me of the movie „asmali konak hayat“ I watched ages ago. There the protagonists had a similar situation and the FL looked very different; at least realistic.

I remember the beginning of the drama, I was disappointed when he was relieved when he thought doesn't have to get a divorce because she's dying anyway. Now, he knows that it's painful for him if she died. He just wanted to be free that time, desperately wanted to be free from them all because he wasn't treated like family.

Another 2 episodes left. The villains keep winning until now so please, hurry give us a happy ending. Them loving each other again because deep inside, Hae-In remember she loves him and them having a baby. Next week, palli palli. Wonder the rating tonight episode. Will it reach 25% or maybe 27%?

At some parts, barely audible due to shortened breath. He did really cry, didnt he...? I want to see the behind the scene video clip when they shot the scene for epilogue 13, how he was doing it and right after the scene shot. His sincere broad smile. Kim soo Hyun great, best with Seo Yi Ji, but Kim Ji Won doing a good job of a haughty character. Show made by Kwak Dong Yeon who was so good with Soo Hyun in IOKTNBOK - my fave with CLOY, which was trope free.

Enjoying this series, quite exciting and charming just a bit too predictable. 3 episodes left to surprise us out of ‘same old same old’

Particularly, Kim Jiwon's performance as Hong Haein was outstanding. It's a shame she wasn't nominated for the Baeksang Awards this year, but hopefully, she will be recognized next year. This drama has been a great comfort to me, helping to alleviate my stress. Episode 11 was emotionally overwhelming, and it was the most heartbreaking episode I've seen in a Kdrama. The story is still engaging with unexpected twists that the writer is known for. I appreciate how the drama highlights the importance of communication, especially in relationships The OSTs are also beautifully composed, adding depth to each scene. As Episode 14 airs today, I'm eager to see if Haein will agree to the surgery. I'm holding out for a happy ending. It's been three years since I last followed a Kdrama so closely, and that one ended sadly (tvN's Twenty-Five, Twenty-One), but it taught me valuable lessons. Despite still being in my teens, dramas like this offer insights that are applicable to romantic and familial relationships.

I'm confident this drama will surpass the ratings of CLOY. Perhaps, who knows just like the two main leads from CLOY in real life, these main leads of this show will make headlines in real life as well. However, it seems we're in for another heart-wrenching moment in Episode 14, judging by the preview. With just three episodes left, I'm a bit shocked they haven't explored Haein's miscarriage and Suwan's accident in more depth yet.

There are happy, sad, laugh, cry , suspense moments, included extended family problems between in laws, I think is quite realistically done from both city rich or village rich side families . All actors great A + but kudos to KSH , he truly never disappoints . His expression , eye contact and gestures always on point. The drama has one of best and detail dialogues that suddenly makes me laugh or sad . It’s so good. The ost and epilogues are brilliant. But tbh, I think the title should be King of tears since Hyunwoo cries more than Hae In . -:)

This is one of the best dramas I have watched in the last year. The plot is absolutely well written, I don't see any contradictions in the storyline and I love the short epilogue at the end of each episode. All the actors fit their characters well and the FL and ML are a very good match. What I like most is the good pacing of the story. There is no unnecessary dragging and the funny parts, which are covered by side characters, aren't annoying. At least not for me. The drama shows a complex and mature love story of a couple who go through different painful experiences and who have distanced themselves from each other, not because of a lack of affection, but because they stop talking to each other honestly. I feel that many couples go through this kind of experience, so I can relate to it a lot. Highly recommended 9/10 (not giving 10/10 because there are still 6 episodes to go and I hope there won't be any unexpected disappointments :) can't predict how it will end)

In this drama, it appears Yoon Eun-Sung put on make-up, and if yes, please don't or make it a bit natural. The part on Hong Soo-Cheol, come on he should forget his wife Cheon Da-Hye who has been working with Yoon Eun-Sung to destroy his family, therefore, should be punished, and also if the child is not his, then he should move on with his own life.

Yoon Eun-Sung and his mother Moh Seul-Hee, Cheon Da-Hye and Grace Go should be punished.

Hope Chairman Hong Man-Dae recovers from coma and cancels all rights granted to Moh Seul-Hee and kicks her out from his house immediately.

The bedroom awkwardness between the couple who had been married for sometime is unnatural.... it's like they are seeing each other in close quarters for the first time.

I love these 2 main lead actors who are top notch actors. But I really do not understand why the couple characters are made to act like complete strangers getting to know each other for the first time. I find that very unnatural.

Probably start from her being blamed for her brother death, she feels no longer have right for expressing sadness, tiredness, thus being workaholic as an escaping way. And when she lost her baby (probably miscarriage?) she escaped by focused to her work call. While actually She's depressed!. Hyun woo, as a husband (by the time), just like another guy can't figure it out, and took her words too literal, then decide to sleep separately caused the relationship worse, because it just lost one key thing, a pre sleep deep talk. Will It be different if Hyun woo initiates otherwise? As His confession of regret on Ep10, would "how's your day?" may change everything

They showed us the side where it's not often told because people usually want to see the happy side. This perspective is what made this drama fresh and unique from the usual plot. Chin Apr 07 2024 10:49 am Episode 10's Ending Made Me Cry So Much. I don't know why people are saying this drama is too hyped? I'm personally not biased with who acts, who wrote it, or if it's a hallyu star; I'm always there for the plot (and sometimes how well the OST is).

The story is well-knitted EACH episode, and i feel like some viewers are just impatient and does not see the bigger picture when watching. Believe me, this kind of story is written like a masterpiece and directed thoroughly!

I like how we viewers had to go through complicated parts, where we feel as if we are being threatened and betrayed too. It's upsetting, sure! But that's how we connect ourselves with the characters and the story. Dramas like this are worth watching because it's engaging, and somehow more realistic in a sense that not everything falls through in place. (I can relate, and I'm pretty sure everyone does!) You have to go through the hard part too. Anyway, that's just my opinion! :) I can't wait for next week's episode~

How can Hae In keeps being so cold and rude to her husband (now ex-husband) despite all the kindness and sacrifices that Hyun-Woo showed and did to her and her family from episode 1 to 9??? even a stranger will show appreciation and respect to someone who is helpful like that. On the other hand, how can Hyun-Woo keep doing so much for Hae In and her family and in the same time said nothing against her rudeness and disrespect treatments? It doesn't feel right and natural.

Regardless the reasons, it is not right to be rude and impolite to someone who shows kindness.

Cute i pie Apr 06 2024 5:14 am The fact that story and conflict happen after a happy marriage make it deeper than another regular rom com dramas, I rarely get deep perspective in that type of genre, but this one hits different and really itches my heart. I understand both characters view, they are just as hurt as each other, and however bad thing it is, it's always a relief even if only have one person besides you. It portrays just as real as it is, married man lack of understanding of the "codes", and woman deliver lack of understandable codes I'd say lol, sometimes they are just as tired, and how a simple communication is the fix. I just love everything as it is, lovely entertainment fits for Sat & Sun night

it's wonderfully filmed and acted so even though not much is surprising me, it's a delight to watch!! everyone brought their A game and each episode is better than the last~ I hope it continues to amp up

i'm also loving the family drama. episode 8 ending was such a satisfying moment to humble the high-strung mom in law, I do feel bad for dongyeon, I didn't think she'd actually pull through with the plan.

Lastly the vincenzo cameo was everything to me. i loved it so much and I couldn't stop laughing. it felt so fresh and the cameo was done naturally without it being weird.

Aqua Mar 31 2024 9:01 pm Is it just me? I mean, don't get me wrong. I was so okay with Episodes 1 to 7. Like it got me hooked right away since the first episode. I'm like: Weekends please hurry! But after episode 8 (it was great tho) but for some reason, I don't get the excitement anymore.

I mean, I love KSH (MLFTS & IOTNBO were my ultimate faves) and I love KJW (I super love her in FFMW).

I just feel that this drama, QoT, if not for them and with their acting prowess, this would just be a common Kdrama-ish show from 2000-2010 but level up version since it has a larger budget, improved tech (editing and stuff) and a known streaming platform.

But I think I'd still watch it 'till the end since I already started it. It's just that, personally, it becomes less impactful for me and the plot doesn't interest me that much, as of now. It's kinda excruciating to watch that the character HyunWoo puts All the effort into the whole family and it's uncoordinated. I mean, it's great to watch him since it's all for love (for HaeIn) but at the same time you pity him and hate that he's doing that much at the same time (same Hae-In vibes every time HyunWoo is just letting himself humiliated by her fam)

And I'm happy that the grandpa knows the truth before collapsed. He didn't believe in Hyun-Woo, that's fine but didn't believe his own daughter? He prefers to believe on that woman and what her shaman says. He consider lucky because when he wakes up, everything probably back to normal. His family that he didn't trust enough will fight to get back what theirs.

P/s: what disappointed me that I knew about the cameo few hours before I watch it. It will be a real surprise if I didn't know.

I wish so because if she did,means she is smart. She can see the real Hyun-Woo. He can see how deep he loves her actually but fading for some reason and now he loves her again because now, she changed like before. She can see the real villain.

And Hyun-Woo is still try to save Hong's family even though he was treated like that. He always think them as his family but they never really appreciate him or respect him. They think he just like 1 of their employees especially his mother in law. Urgh,hate her.

I like when Hae-In's dad looked at the photos and videos. He said himself how pityful when Hyun-Woo eat alone. Gosh, he only fed him neck part,right? Only gave him thigh the 1st time when he saved his wife. I would eat outside too if I were him.

I can't wait for Hyun-Woo's mom to scold Hae-In's mom. She so annoying and what's with ber eyeliner? I want to see Hyun-Woo win saving Hong's family. I want them think him and their hero and family. I want to see Hae-In actually see who loves her,who using her. I want to see she believes in her husband and defending him. I want to see Da-Hye change side to her husband Soo-Cheol because he isn't bad guy really. When he planned to save his bro in law by sending him a bit far from his sister...that's a bit funny. The way they are playing the we-can't-kiss theme is not working with these adults. It again, does not have the air of truth.

The sister and brother of the ML are not likable.

The folksy town is a tad cliched.

I dunno. I really want to like this, but I do not believe the world the writers built. I mean the aunt? I will keep going as I'm on episode five, but it's odd. Evrything on paper, the writer, director, leads, cast all seem sublime, but in practice is currently not working for me. But I will forge on! It's got to get better.

I think the thick skin is from all the hate she received from the one person who should have loved and comforted her the most after the death of her brother. And like in ep 5 she felt she didnt deserve to cry for her lost baby. IMO i dont care who's at fault the parents should come together and mourn their loss together but their rift started being created there and from then on his and her ego kept them apart like the part where she got lost in Yeongdu-ri but pretended to have gone sightseeing..all of that is just to hide her vulnerabilities coz like they say once your blood is in the water, everyine's a shark. Its difficult to know who to trust in families like theirs...a good example is like now just when they are finding their way to each other, that pack of wolves are tearing them apart. ..All the awkwardness and aloofness is just a mask she puts on to hide her true feelings which i must say kjw plays it perfectly.

Monday Mar 25 2024 5:01 pm I started to feel tired with Haein cold and rigid expression, even in the situation when they are expressing each other feelings (ep 5), she should be able to show a bit more compassion and closeness to her husband Hyunwoo, especially when seeing her husband showing her kind loving gestures, or when he is in pain and tears! She was deeply in love with him in the past, so it would be more natural if the feeling is flowing back, and she should lessen her awkwardness toward him.

I think it's better for Hyunwoo to just forget everything and run away for this married life and toxic in law family that are not appreciating him at all. So annoying.

Bear that burden throughout her childhood till she got older, that really brought serious permanent mental damage to her. Makes sense now how she reacted after the miscarriage. She reacted by referring to her childhood memory. So she didnt want to hold the burden of guilt like she had during her childhood. So she build the wall to protect herself from hostile world, wont let anyone get closer coz she is sure that was not her fault , she assumed everyone blamed her for the miscsrriage, so she fought back, steel her will, and moves on. She hit back upon everyone deemed hostile, real or not. While actually there are people out there that are not hostile. But she wont budge. That was why she was touched by the ML family who looked for her that night in the village. Was my two cents sensible enough? I think the writer is a psychologist or at least dig into psych books extensive enough to build FL character.

But I am really curious as to how couples (especially married ones) seemingly lose the ability to properly (or openly) communicate their love for each other after years of being able to openly express it. This is evident in our two main characters and something I kinda see from my parents as well.

Obviously some things happened along the way that made them grow away from each other, but its obvious that they do still love each other (or is it just the responsibility of being married?) Can some experienced person explain haha

Z Mar 25 2024 4:27 am This drama helps me cope at grueling tax season. After watching episode of 6, I’m afraid that the upcoming episodes will only be sad and heartbreaking. OMG. While watching the drama, I sympathize with both of them. First is to Kim Jiwon’s character Hong Haein. She also lost a child but she’s the type of person who’s always trying to be cool/strong since childhood. It’s sad that her husband has given up on their marriage (divorce papers), without even trying to fix it I guess. He promised her a lifetime, and now he’s going back on his promise, something that kind of thing. With this, I can accept a finale where Haein died and Hyunwoo regretting for taking for granted the 3 years or all the times they could’ve cherished. ? At the same time, if the relationship is only ruining you as a person, then it might be best to leave. Though so far, Hyunwoo’s love for Haein is stronger than ever. He’s gonna survive this. Excited for the next episodes! Excited for weekends because of this. Love that the episodes are always above 1hr!! Soo worth it.

PJE truly the skillful writer- and I love most of her dramas especially My Love from the Star and Crash Landing on You. The one thing I love the most about her writing is that the male lead and female lead somehow didn't have too much conflict in them and the conflicts are only coming from outsiders (and not too much bad characters too). Main couple will stay strong together while trying to solve the problems from outsiders. But idk why her writing is so different this time. Main couple always has misunderstandings, too many evil characters, too many unnecessary conflicts, etc.

Also I think the chaebol family in this drama is too stupid. They are so f*ckin rich and have many experiences but why they are too stupid to choose their partner? No deep investigations on their partner's past (esp the grandpa's partner and soo cheol). Trusting too much on Grace and kind of believe everything she says. Easily manipulated by people. This family is so stupid. Idk if Hae In is stupid too or not- will wait until more episodes to find out if she will be easily manipulated by those evils too.

The Hong's family is actually so kind. It's just they are too stupid and easily get manipulated by outsiders. I know Hyun Woo's character is not perfect too as his anger and misunderstandings makes him does stupid things too sometimes, but it's understandable as the Hong's family always put too much pressures on him and didn't even appreciate him (only Hae In's father and aunt are kind to Hyun Woo). And now they are disrespecting Hyun Woo's privacy by opening the safe box without Hyun Woo's permissions. If I am Hyun Woo, I will leave that family too.

Not to mention Eun Sung that even worst than evil. He easily making traps to drag down Hyun Woo and the Hong's family easily gets manipulated? Please wake up!! The evil characters in this drama are not even smart, it's just the Hong's family are too stupid lol

Hae In's character also written poorly. Yes she loves Hyun Woo so much, but why too cold to her husband? Why not showing respect in front of her husband? She shows the love and respect of Hyun Woo in front of other people, why not in front of him? It's ridiculous.

PJE writernim, what are you doing? Truly disappointing. I love Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won so much and I don't think this drama is good for their comeback. But I still wish this drama to do better in the next episodes. Hope ratings will keep increase since the main leads deserve that.

I love Kim So Hyun quality acting. The 2 leads have great chemistry, their relationship speaks thru their eyes and its so natural for marriage couple. I hope for happy ending but doubt it , specially if her tumor is glioblastoma . But they did not mention what type brain tumor. Park Sung Hoon perfect as villain, as always . A+ cast . Must watch !

Lucky Mar 24 2024 3:25 pm Okay, this drama solidified itself in my top 3 kdramas of all time. It has me laughing, crying and all of the above. The casting is superb and the acting is extraordinary. You cannot help but feel for Hae In and Hyun Woo. It is not boring whatsoever.. I’m captivated more and more each week. Yes there are some exaggeration but that’s what dramas are like.

The story itself is captivating but we got all the bonuses that comes with it. You can’t have a drama with some type of drama otherwise where will the story develop from?

This drama got me squealing like a child and definitely a rollercoaster of emotions. I LOVE IT! Everything about this drama is top notch! My favorite drama from both Kim Ji Won and Kim Soo Hyun. I’ve seen a lot of their dramas if not all. Both were neither my favorite actors but I’m in love with them in this drama.

Can we also talk about the OST!? My gosh!

I’m rooting for Hae In and Hyun woo happy ending! Writers and producers please don’t do them dirty! Everyone is after them!

Jane Mar 24 2024 10:31 am I was loving this drama so much since EP 1, but starting from EP 3 somehow I kind of annoyed with the evil characters here (especially that bastard eunsong and that witch grace). Especially EP 5 & 6 with a lot of misundertandings between the main couple, plus the evil plans of those bad people to bring down Hyun Woo. The conflict is too much. I personally love to see the sweet scenes between Hyun Woo and Hae In, but the writer decides to ruin everything by adding too much conflicts. Even without too much conflict, this drama will still be great, because the story is good. Focus on Hyun Woo who finds his love again to Hae In and accompany her throughout her medical treatments, is gonna make this drama still very popular. Afterall, the chemistry between the main leads are amazing, and I would love to see more of their chemistry (so far they are like 70% fights and 30% get along with each other lol) I was excited to watch this on going, but now I decided to wait until the whole episodes are out. I hate to see the evil characters and hate too much misunderstandings between main leads. Maybe many people love to watch drama with a lot of conflicts, but personally that's not my cup of tea. Still I want to praise the superb acting of Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won. They deliver the dialogue really well, great chemistry, great on everything. This drama has a fantastic cinematography too. As for writer Park Ji Eun, sorry this time I am not a big fan of your work.

They both misread situations and each others intentions at first. It's obvious that they still love one another, but their communications skills with each other are terrible. They both seem not to know how they other one feels. Looks like, something came in and broke their connection. Probably related to the baby that they were going to have. I'm very excited to see more. PS- Entire cast is phenomenal!!!

Those people around them are toxic, event their families. I think maybe there are multiple villains in this drama : Eun Seong, Da Hye, Seul Hee, Grace Go. They are suspicious.

Indifference is very real in marriage, specially when you go through hurt (lack of communication) trauma (miscarriage) and unbelievable stress (inlaws)…and haven't had the chance to deal with it through communication and resolving conflict. Indifference is real but so is Healing & LOVE. Brilliant writing. KSY! Wow always the best, his acting is impeccable, portraying complex emotions… And those abs! Is it for real? Love the cast, the story, the dynamic…worth staying in on weekends.

Nefarious characters are well-drawn, while the rest of the cast is revealed bit by bit, in regular flashbacks, to be anything but predictable. Far fetched in some spots, but then the lifestyle being depicted is very far from normal reality. Absolutely cast exceptionally well. Love Bo-mi as lead's Secretary.

The storytelling slowly reveals the questions we had in mind from the start and makes us want more. The acting is superb. OST is memorable too! Every single ingredient of becoming a classic is right there. Is it too early to want the show to win awards already?

I love the plot and kudos to the director for a creative plot given it's difficult to write romcom. But here, I just cant get enough I always find myself smiling throughout. The writer's talent is shining. So far 100/100 recommended.

The best part of this series is the Ji Won and Soo Hyun's unbeatable chemistry. Looking forward to ep 5&6.

On the other hand, he is commending and firm when he is protecting his wife and others. I enjoy his performance. Hong Hae-In, his wife with her eagle sharp eyes, observing everything and suspecting everything is a bit unbearable to watch.

And I know no way i could create a story line like this. My compliment to the writers. Ex. ML was stood up in the meeting place, viewers later found out that was due to that disease. Another example, ML refused to go with FL to some place, because he was very upset after he just listened to the poisonous matchmaker lady, the one who was insulted by FL arrogant talk. The matchmaker lady insinuated ML with all the gossips about prenup. And ML believed it and it showed in his following actions. The sequence of events unfolding nicely and seamless, so far. This sort of story creation is a difficult work to accomplish. Again, awesome job by the writing team.One other thing, no one is a designated villain or bad guys in this sort of drama. Just people with their own agenda or shortcomings. in one ep the person did things deemed inapropriate, in other ep, the same person engaged in almost noble actions.

FL sent two people to order her own husband to go meet her pronto where FL, in front of all the other staff, called out, or bullied, or yelled at her own husband. You dont do that in real life, let alone in corporate life. Saving face is very important in the orient societies. She should talk privately with him. Not in front of everyone. That was rude, inconsiderate, downright abusive. She didnt care or didnt think at all She hurted him. So he slept like a baby after that terminal ilness news. His body reacted the opposite of what he said. Amusing. I am looking forward to the next ones.

He looks too young to be the father of Hae In's father and Hae In's aunt (they more look like siblings as the grandpa looks around the same age like them). Actors who's in the age around like that grandpa in repeat the year 365 or Lee Seung Gi's grandpa in my gf gumiho (unfortunately he passed away in 2023) will be a better fit to be a chaebol grandfaher.

By far, this is the best kdrama for me although we are only 2 episodes in. The chemistry of the leads are ‘chemistryyying’ ? My advise, don’t listen to any negative comments. Give it a shot to watch then analyse. Cant wait for episode 3 & 4.

Even tho ratings have already sky rocketed and it is a good news for cast and makes you feel happy for them but not enjoying the show so dropping it.

I'm excited to see how they are going to fall in love with each other, because, at this point, it is quite unpredictable. It's not your average Korean drama where a struggling female lead initially banters with a chaebol and arrogant male lead, then end up falling in love. It has a great plot so far.

Zoe Mar 11 2024 9:14 pm Getting through the first episode of most dramas is really hard for me and this drama for me was super hard, I even thought of dropping it since there are too many cliches, and watching rich people being evil and dumb was not on my list today, but... BUT... Be patient people, wait until the scene where Kim Soohyun stands in front of the mirror, humming to himself, and bahm… he reminded me why I fell in love with his acting in the moon embracing the sun. (that was my very first drama... I just saw a part of it on TV and I was mesmerized. Came home, searched for it, and binge-watched the whole drama.) The drama got better and more interesting. I read in the other comments that it’s both a romcom and Melo romcom. I might stop watching if the drama gets too sad, I’m not in the right head space for sadness. Let’s wait and see how the drama turns out.

Kdrama is life Mar 11 2024 6:28 am Did kim jiwon accept the role without reading the script first? Because so far it is unfortunately pretty bad. No matter how much you hate your wife, how could you be happy that she's dying? How could you be so eager to see her die? And how the hell in the middle of all that, the only thing you care about is getting your name in her will?. Where's the romance? Because that is straight up horror and creepy. Unless she killed your entire family and feed their bodies to wolves there's no reason someone would react like that to someone dying, let alone their spouse. That's not just out of touch or unrealistic, it's straight up psychopatic. I'm trying to not take it too seriously, maybe it's the bit, maybe it's the comic relief, but that's just messed up. There's so many ways to make this drama fun and comedic without sounding insensitive and psychotic. i was waiting for the realistic portrayal of marriage in crisis, two individual from different social status trying to make their marriage work, i thought we're gonna get second chance romance, but what the hell is even this about? Why suddenly terminal illness? Why the thriller? Why the godforsaken chaebol mess (its quite funny tbh but cmon!), pick a genre! And i will unapologetically blame the surge of these nonsensical, unrealistic, stupid chaebol trope on Business Proposal and King The Land! And i don't even hate it because of the cheesiness i am a hopeless romantic, i love cheesiness. But those are simply bad writing and i just cant defend it. And it's worse coming from me because Crash Landing On You and My Liberation Notes are my number 1 and 2 fav drama of all time, CLOY is just incredibly written, MLN is a phenomenon, so how did this drama fail me so badly? I'm still gonna watch the next episode though just to see how they're gonna make this story work, i hope they prove me wrong, i hope i'm gonna be so embarrassed that i ever said this.

Aldrin Mar 10 2024 11:30 am K Dramas saved me during the pandemic. I would work from home during the day, and I would watch K dramas at night. From 2020 to 2023, I finished over 100 kdramas.

But recently stopped watching kdramas. The quality of kdramas recently was just so bad.

But this drama reminded me why i love kdramas. Your going to experience a roller coaster of emotions. And the lead actors are just to beautiful. Sometimes I dont want to read the subs and just watch their beautiful faces. I dont even mind if the story is bad, i just want to look at them.

I have a feeling that The Queen of Tears is going to be the best drama this year. Mark my words

Aldrin Mar 10 2024 11:17 am At first, I suspected that this is going to be a disappoinment like My Demon. That drama was just full of pagentry and has a very shallow plot.

But in this drama, I have a feeling this has an emotional depth. I think its going to be a cry fest right before the end. The plot perfectly sets up a character development that changes from haters to lovers. And the threat of death just when everything is full of love and happiness.

Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Jiwon will surely deliver in this drama and this may even become one of the best series this year.

country bumpkin Mar 10 2024 5:08 am Both ML and FL deliver, at least in ep 1. All scenes add values down to the one tenth of a second. Ex. when the camera shot FL or ML for only two seconds and if they dont say anything verbally during that tiny two second passing by, viewers could still figure out what the actors were thinking by reading their face or eyes. Are they feeling disgusted, ticked-off, getting curious wondering why the other person took him/her for a fool, contemplating about to unleash a violent reaction, etc. etc. And those are skillful acting craft on full display. The actors make it look easy, many many times viewers took it for granted. While actually it was not easy at all. It is a very difficult acting performance. A comment below said it right, this one drama series may take off big time. The momentum is there. All the supporting casts do so well too. We ' ll see. We are watching top players of the industry unfolding their skills. Watch and enjoy. I know I would. Now all depend on the writing team and PD nim working on the other end. Wish them all the best. Can’t imagine any man leading this role but Kim Soo-hyun himself. Also, I liked the chemistry between Soo-hyun and Ji-won. Didn’t expect that they would look cute together. Ji-won’s visual is breathtaking!!! She looks soooo gorgeous here! I’m also excited to see how Sung-hoon’s role will complicate Ji-won and Soo-hyun’s relationship. I only watched him as an evil character at The Glory. Want to see him more. As usual, outstanding acting and not to mention that the drama is filled with actors that blend well together! Great cast! Rooting for this drama until its last episode. Finally found something that will excite me on weekend.

They can perfectly showing the cute adorable romantic scenes from their early marriage and honeymoon life, and perfectly showing their difficulties and crisis as a married couple too. Even when they have fighting/arguing scenes, the chemistry is still there! Good job for KSH and KJW for portraying BHW and HHI really well!!

Jane Mar 09 2024 8:15 pm After watching EP 1, I can already tell that this is gonna be the Best K-Drama in 2024! The story and plot are so good, fresh and charming story. The acting of KSH and KJW are really good- as always. The supporting casts are also a great addition for the drama. I spent more than 1 hour watching it, but it feels like 10 minutes. Time flies so fast when watching it, literally every scenes are interesting, none of the scenes are boring. I usually drop a drama after watching first few minutes of EP 1, but Queen of Tears got me hooked. Can't wait for EP 2 tonight and excited to watch the rest of the episodes. My biggest praise will be to Kim Soo Hyun. He is such an amazing actor, and he's definitely selective on choosing his projects. All of his projects are successful and became a big hit. Since the first time I watched his drama, I can tell that his acting skill is never change (in fact, his acting skill is getting better and better). Truly live up to his name- as the most expensive actor in k-drama history.

Saturday Mar 09 2024 6:53 pm Wow.. episode 1 is quite fast and intense. The chaebol family is scary! Hyun Woo is just too nice and kind to join this crazy family, it's almost overwhelming to watch! I just don't understand if Hae-In deep inside loves her husband (Hyun Woo), how could she be so consistently cold and mean like that? I also don't understand why Hyun Woo falls for her since the beginning with her rude character like that? Well, I guess in kdrama, not everything has to make sense! Lol!

KSH is so charming, with his precise acting (as always). His smile, laugh, and cry are genuinely heart touching KJW acting is also good in showing her role as a cold and mean Hae-In. I hope her character will develop the other way around. But this is just the first episode, it seems that we will still need to watch her manipulating her husband. Also, since the title is queen of tears, I expect her character breaking into tears eventually. Oh.. well.. let's wait and see.

I am quite impressed with many well-known actors/actresses as supporting casts.

Hae-in said that she only has three months to live because she knows her husband is going to divorce her. Why? Because It is obvious that hae-in really cares for hyun-woo but cannot manage to express it directly. Otherwise, the doctor who said that to hae-in is basically misunderstanding, but I really thought hae-in knows something.

Anyways really enjoyed the drama for its 1st ep and the last part when hae-in mentioned his husband in what will be her in 10yrs we all know that her answer full of self-indulgence but deep inside she cares for hyun-woo

Alma Mar 09 2024 1:19 pm Woooooahhh.. just finished watching episode 1.. I laughed so much on KSH ?? i really love their chemistry.. the plot and the cast ???? I think this is the first kdrama that i will not drop in the middle and watch till the end. I was teary-eyed on the flashback of their wedding. What they will say on their future self after 10yrs of getting married. The promises they made. ?? Married life is not being inlove everyday with each other but choosing to be together.

Haemin Nana Mar 09 2024 12:55 pm I have watched Episode 1, and it is still too early to judge this Korean drama. In Episode 1, I had mixed feelings. Hong Hae In plays a tough, hard, and fierce woman, but she loves her husband, not a cheap romantic wife. Baek Hyun Woo has a kind and warm heart and is trying to adapt to his wife's chaotic family. Ep. 1 was silly and sad, and the storyline was fast-paced but light; yes, it's a rom-com. I give it a 9 out of 10 for Episode 1.

And they're not even loving each other, like wtf. Also, she only has 3 months to live? How so? I kind of have mixed feelings about this plot, thank God Kim Soo Hyun is here to save it. Again, we're dealing with crazy chaebol families and the hunger for money and power. Also, why is she acting superior and bossy towards her husband at work, but when someone else does it, she gets mad? Now that she only has 3 months to live, he's gonna be her puppy again, being there for her at all times, forgetting about his needs and wants?
