- "Secret Healer" takes over JTBC's Friday & Saturday 20:30 time slot previously occupied by "My Horrible Boss" and followed by "Hello, My Twenties!" on July 22, 2016.
- Story for the drama series is inspired by the book “Dongui Bogam,” compiled and written by royal physician Heo Jun.
- First script reading took place March 11, 2016 at JTBC building in Sangam, Seoul, South Korea.
- Choi Sung-Won, cast to play supporting character Dong-Rae, has dropped out of the drama series.
