Who-Joon (Choi Tae-Joon) is a top star. Geun-Young (Sooyoung) is a magazine reporter. For potential news material, Geun-Young decides to attend an opening ceremony for a club. There, she witnesses top star Who-Joon's violent behavior and she also vomits on him by accident. This leads to Geun-Young losing her job. Geun-Young believes Who-Joon was behind her firing and she decides to do something about it. Every day, Geun-Young demonstrates in front of Who-Joon's management office. She begins to receive media coverage on her demonstration and soon Geun-Young becomes famous as an anti-fan. A PD approaches Geun-Young about participating in a reality TV show. The concept for the show revolves around a top star and their anti-fan living together. Geun-Young is in financial difficulties and accepts the offer. Meanwhile, Who-Joon is offered the same reality TV show and he accepts to improve his image.

Who-Joon and Geun-Young try to give each other a hard time on the TV program, but they become attracted to each other.

Magda USA Aug 31 2025 1:27 pm This was a beautiful, sweet love story! Great actors and actresses! But to no fault of theirs, some of “The Writers” scenes were off! No! To the person who wrote something to this effect! Not everything is about a young girl in a short skirt, he the main male character, Choi Tae Joon, who’s so beautifully handsome! And such a great actor! He wanted someone caring, pretty, real and kind! Definitely showing him as a mature young man! Not just a mental midget sexual machine! She the leading young lady, Sooyoung who is a very beautiful and talented actress! Dressed as the script called for. Yes! Agree, her clothe were often frumpy looking! And then she was like a Cinderella, once given the right care, she transformed into a beautiful girl! There was great chemistry between the two characters. Then the male supporting actor, Chansung, very handsome and good actor, at times his angry faces weren’t too good of acting. But! Again that’s the script they were given by the Writers and Directors! All in all this to me this is a 4 star series, beautiful storyline with some faults of the Writers, but great cast of great actors and actresses! Warm, loving, sweet, romantic series with a Beautiful Ending!

ABSOLUTELY not worth the hype Sep 04 2023 7:37 am Had high hopes but my goodness I couldn't watch after episode 7. I have So Many problems with this drama that I need to point it down. Beware - this includes spoilers

So basically she lost her job due to Male Lead because he caught her "spying" on him with a camera. Okay I understand he has been in this situation many time but my god do you have to be so impatient to the point to throw the damn camera?? He wouldn't even listen to the female lead apologizing??? I wanted the heel to leave a mark on his face ngl. Also, why do these writers always show that the Female Lead would Always cause these types of trouble when drunk? This is getting old.

After episode 4 I was watching it just for her justice because Everyone around her so f/cking toxic. The crew only sees her as a way of making money, and of course she has no choice to do that stupid shit cuz she needs money and because she hates a "star" she gets bullied?? like tf can't even have an opinion these days I guess. And she became an Anti-Fan because she lost her job because of him which is a Valid Reason. In the show also everyone guides the male lead to do what like the machine scene but the female lead is just on her own tf. I just pity her ButT I also don't like how she acts "mute" like gurl Voice your opinion!! Tell them you have never driven a car or went to Japan! She just keeps making a fool of herself and it's irritating istg. The writers just keep writing anything to show how the Female Lead gets saved by this saint Male Lead.

And the interactions between the Male Lead and Female Lead?? In the name of "cheesiness" and "bickering" it is just two of them stupidly arguing with each other and I felt No Chemistry between them. It felt so forced and static.

I just could not continue - I usually don't leave reviews like this but this show is just incredibly stupid to the point people gotta be saved before they waste their time on this. I am sorry but this show is definitely not recommended!

Park Min Aug 21 2023 10:38 am Within less than 3 minutes going into the first episode we were presented with these goofy and silly sound effects for every motion and laughter. My expectations were nullified immediately which definitely helped to endure it. The interactions between the characters were painfully artificial and static, which made the dreadful cheesiness even worse than it already was. This is how it seems from the surface but the content is much more revolting and ugly. Highly not recommended!

Freda Feb 19 2023 5:00 am This drama definitely started slow and was a bit annoying in the beginning. But it truly was a touching and wonderful drama overall. It picks up around episode 6 and 7. Yes, there are repetitive plot scenes, but I think the acting was excellent especially the lead male Choi Tae-Joon. He has a lot of range in showing emotions. I also like Chansung's acting, he is very believable, strong actor. Yes, the female lead Sooyoung looks a little older than the male but it actually works out in the drama. Their chemistry developed nicely. What I like the most about this drama was their ability to show forgiveness and redemption in a more realistic way. I also enjoyed the way they didn't allow the females in the drama to become ruthless. And they did a good job with bringing things to a close. Definitely worth watching till the end.

a good story with a wrong actor and actress. amy Feb 05 2022 5:32 pm This drama was cute and overall nice! But I do have to mention that (at least in my opinion) the chemistry between the leads wasn’t that amazing up until like episode 6. So hang in there, it gets better. By the second half I was smiling so much because of this drama. The actors did a nice job!!! I loved them. But obvi this is a romcom so it does come with some cringey elements (for me this was mostly the *sparkling* sound). What I didn’t like was how quickly they ended things and there were some seemingly important plot parts that I feel like didn’t get enough scripting:( If you want to watch a romcom, I totally recommend this one.

Choi tae jun face more boasted like a humble one and what they did to style him made him look younger than fancier, lol. For some reason , Kim Jae wook,Kim Jae young kept popping in my head for this lead role. Sooyoung is adorably pretty and both the lead actors are doing fantastic job with what’s given. I’m still in early episodes and unable to grasp the character Jae join is trying to portray

One part I despise wholeheartedly in this drama is the need for the producers to include that slap scene. Is that really necessary? The day you raise your hand to a woman, that's the day you're officially no longer a man!

Terry Jun 29 2021 1:35 pm Ok so this was okay. The beginning was really good but when it got to like episode 10 it started to drag. I liked most of the characters, Joon and Geum-Young were okay. I didn't like In Hyung at all and all her crying was aggravating. My favorite was JJ, Jae Joon. His character just resonated with me from the beginning and I just felt like he was being cheated through the whole series. Like what did he do so bad but love the girl who never achieved anything and still was in love with the one who abandoned her. And why was Sung Hoon so mean in this series. I kept getting mad at him and that has never happened before.

Love the main couple but honestly I really really dislike Chansung as a person and how he treated Han ji-An, can't count the amount of times I flipped off to my screen every time he opened his mouth because of how he was manipulating her. The whole "savior" card they played at the end with her feeling she was indebted to him because he protected her in the car accident is just the same stuff they have been pulling the whole show with what their relationship is: they are tied to each other because of guilt and desperation, but unlike the direction the show was taking in making us really hate his beaviour towards her and leading us to think there will be a realisation moment for Han ji-An to Cut That Snake Out Of Her Life , the ending is basically saying that their dependancy on one another is Healthy and trying to play it off as a"happy" ending ? no no no...Thats Is Not Love Folks, t'is toxic. I sincerely hope that they didn't mean to paint it as them continuing a romantic relationship...i could never get back with someone no matter how "indebted" I am to them if they treated me like utter garbage. He literally tried to destroy her carrer because of his horrible obsession and jealousy towards Choi Tae-won. Their closure is honestly very disappointing, its teaching young girls that its okay for men to treat them terribly as soon as they come running back claiming they are changed people. Once a horrible person always a horrible person, its already a stretch if she stayed his friend let alone stayed with him. I would have loved this show if it weren't for their open ending, even though they weren't a main couple of the drama i was very invested in the shows portrayal and exploration of a toxic relationship in an industry that is known for these sort of co-dependant/exploitatory relationships between managers and idols. It was such a missed oppourtunity from the writers and they handled the message to such an important topic so lazily. honestly hate how they are trying to pass of this Stockholm syndrome as* ending as heartwarming.

Swan Jun 18 2021 1:20 am I'd read the whole webtoon before this drama released officially and I've been waiting for this drama like ages. Tbh, the storyline is quite different from the original story such as LGY supposed to like Ji-Hyang (WJ's manager), WJ's secret room in 2nd floor is actually full of sticker and doll (forget the doll's name), In-Hyung has a close relationship with LGY (like eonni-dongsaeng). But, I think it's fine so far. Choi Tae Joon's acting is so good, he is so good in making jokes and so is Chan Sung.

For 7 first episodes, I feel like it's quite boring because the backsound doesn't really match the mood and the actings tho. But after watching ep 8 and more I find this is quite good and more interesting. Now, I love this drama and the casts except Oh In Hyung's character. She's like toxic I think. Just my opinion.

Steffanie Jun 12 2021 4:43 am Kim Sun Hyuk has the best acting skills among the entire cast. Of course, the rest did a great job, but Kim Sun Hyuk is surprisingly outstanding. His face is very expressive, and his reactions are perfect.

The only thing I didn't like was the lack of soundtrack options and how the music was edited into the show. There were some scenes where the timing was off, or the choice of song didn't match the mood.

Other than that, I love the story of this drama. It's a fun, light hearted, feel good drama. The casting was well done, the story was exciting, the staff and crew did a great job.

I disagree with other critics below. If you paid attention to the story, LGY wasn't supposed to be a real anti fan like JJ. She was just devastated at WJ by how the misunderstandings led to the misfortunes in her life. That's why LGY and WJ fell in love easily after the misunderstandings cleared up.

Thank you SIMAAF for giving us another show that a lot of us look forward to. I'm in love with this drama. I hope this has more than 16 episodes. I'm starting to be sad because the 14th episode just aired today.

And it is so tiring to watch Chansung do the same things over and over again. How is it possible that he hit a girl and after her suicide attempt he continues to humilliate her.

However, the story itself is pretty interesting.

Here are some few things that this drama should have reconsidered:

1. Lee Geun-Young Didnt Act Like A Real Anti-Fan. Not At All. Periodt.

2. Who-Joon's acting is so bland.

3. Chansung just hit a girl? Seriously?? It's not the character, it's the script.

4. Why does LGY have to sleep in the toilet/ washroom in WJ's house? She can lay down her beddings in the living room. Also, her parents let the guy sleep in their toilet?? It makes me upset! Even though their daughter is having bad reputation because of the show, she's still earning because of it. And it was her choice to keep on working there.

5. CEO Bae acts like he is scared of WJ one moment and then so mad that he can throw paper on his face?? What??

Now it feels like I'm the anti-fan of this series.

- - I love the character of Manager Seo Ji Hyang. I think his character is the best. He needs more screen exposure and more details about him please. Can't deny he is sooooo cute as well. ?

Why is the " bad idagf type" shown this way ? I knew that even if there was character development, what he did was clearly violent, unexcusable and even illegal. This Is Harassment And It Shouldn't Appear As A Simple Mistake An Idol Could Make.

otp Jun 03 2021 11:22 pm Ngl almost dropped this drama at about 4th/5th ep? I was getting a little impatient w/ the slow-phased, kind of dragging scenarios plus CTJ as an idol is a bit cringey for me. Also SY and KTO (Run On)'s chemistry is much stronger (at least for me), maybe because of the characters. But I decided to give it a chance and I could say it's worth it. The next episodes became enjoyable, some are cheesy & cliché but you'd still find yourself smiling/laughing over it. It has an old kdrama vibes to it. This show grows on me. I guess I was also an anti-fan turned fan. Lol

This is not top tier emotional and ground breaking kdrama. If you want that, watch When Camelias Bloom or something. This is for those who like those cliche, messy storylines where if he wasn’t a fictional character you’d hate him but you love him in this. It’s a 5/5 for the type of sub-genre it is.

It reminds me of old dramas like weight lifting fairy Kim boo joo where the plot isn’t too intense. Maybe it’s because it was filmed a while ago but this drama really gives me a nostalgic feel of old dramas. Definitely not the best drama but very light hearted and enjoyable.

Also I can't find chemistry in some scene between WJ and GY and I personally think that it is somehow being forced, like they could have created a scene where they can share their care with each other or something that they will draw them even more closer coz the confession is kinda fast for me, like I haven't even felt that they liked each other, but here comes the confession already. But on the contrary, I find it funny and entertaining to watch that I cannot wait for next weeks episode

Who-Joon : I hate his character the most. Absolutely nothing redeeming about him. During his first encounter with Geun-Young, he was super rude and broke her camera. He forcibly held her back when she rushing to the restroom to throw up and she ended up throwing up on him. That was his own fault tbh. She threw her shoe at him which was wrong, but WH gets her fired! He claims he didn't know her company would go to that extent but he's literally a Top Star and told his agency he wont work with WonderWoman if they don't "take care of GY". Then he does nothing at all when he finds out that she was fired. He proceeds to belittle her, gaslight her and look down on GY throughout eps 3-7. When she was getting attacked by his fans during ep8, he legit just stood there doing nothing and asked the staff to help her out. And then that god-forsaken kiss. SO out of place. He didn't even properly apologise to GY. He knew the production staff would be on his side and the show would basically be a witch hunt. But he does nothing to make GY, the woman he likes apparently, not look like the devil . He takes the definition of two-faced to new heights, it's so hard to watch. The actor Choi-Tae-Joon also to me seems very bland. His emotional range is the size of a teaspoon. There are some moments, such as his recording session in ep9, which feel very awkward and cringey to watch.

Geun-Young : Damn do I feel bad for this woman. She's been attacked by WH's fans NUMEROUS times and the show producers are absolute dicks editing the show to make her look so terrible. And they're constantly putting her in extremely uncomfortable situations and the drama makes light of it. All of GY's troubles are treated as a joke and that's so painful to me. And GY being a reporter must've been some sort of joke because.......this woman is more naive than a 12 yr old. I was hoping she'd sign with JJ or take up that offer with SuperPatch or literally done anything at all to defend and protect herself but she just ...... does nothing? She's a frickin reporter. She could've easily recorded her convos with WJ, taken screenshots of his messages where he tells her to "Shut up" and such. She lives in the house where they shoot the show. She could've planted hidden cameras and no one would've known. She's being exploited by everyone around her and but somehow she just doesn't see it...

JJ : Ik he's supposed to be the villain but damn even his character at times seems to be better than WJs. I kinda understand where he's coming from. His gf for some reason just won't stop associating with WJ. She doesn't get over WJ and makes JJ all the more insecure. He's very controlling and aggressive but IH and WJ don't make it any better.

IH : Its hard to sympathise with her because it feels like shes victimizing herself. She has to either completely cut ties with WJ, or break up with JJ. Instead she's stuck in the middle resorting to pills, damaging her health. At this point it feels like she's a gold digger. That the only reason she's with JJ is because she's scared she won't be employed elsewhere. She cheated on WJ (or left WJ first? its unclear) with JJ and was happy to do so before WJ debuted and now she's wavering towards WJ after he's gotten famous?? Gurl needs to get herself out this mess and start afresh.

The ONLY nice character in this drama is the Manager. I ship him with GY. Even he has better chemistry with GY than WJ. He's so mature and warm-hearted and soo handsome ??. And that teenage fan of WJ in ep9, damn her acting is so good because I've never wanted to slap someone as much as I wanna slap her.

Sun May 23 2021 10:00 am This is another negative comment. ? Hey, there's always room for improvement, right? love cliche plots and webtoon series turned into drama that's why I'm giving this one a try. These are some of the things that I want to share:

1. I like Sooyoungs's annoyed reactions, she did it well but her crying scenes are really bad. So cringy. Huhu. Thanks to the background music and sound effects, they made this series better especially in funny parts.

2. I agree with previous comments, CTJ doesn't have enough superstar vibe. He can show more. He can do it.

3. Another thing, this has something to do with flow of the story, an anti-fan is a person with hatred towards a celebrity. In their reality show, the ML looks like the anti-fan, FL seems like she's letting all his actions pass under her nose. She will just murmur but so helpless, go girl!! Make him mad, revenge then our story will just develop later on.

4. And only FL and ML are wearing jacket in their Okinawa tour (market scene) ? Japanese people are wearing summer clothes.

I will still continue watching. I still like this kind of genre, just light and not stressful at all. More power! ?

It was this day when i was really sick and was fed up resting on my bed when I picked my phone and open this app where i saw S0 I Married An Anti Fan. And to be veryyyy honest It worked as an energy booster for me and that's all we need. We watch stuff when we are bored,we watch stuff to smile or I can say to entertain our own self ;) and to be very much honest this show has done that for me in the 6th episode itself. Every week I watch both the episodes together and its amusing that I don't even realize where my 2hrs go.....this light hearted drama really engages me well ; ) So at times when one feels to watch something simple, light and lovely one can definitely go for this drama (even though it's the same pattern or same type of story from years back it doesn't matter until it makes you happy and smile : ) ♡)

Such a plot was barely interesting 20 years ago, now it is pure toxic. Lets start with so called introduction to the story. We have a heartbroken Idol whose ex chose his "friend" because probably he was with money. Life. Then we have a clueless girl, who is now entangled in this mess, and probably on her shoulders lays future happines of our beloved toxic Idol. This is just iconic bullshit. Crying Ex in corners, main character who is still? in love? Like, this just triggers me in behalf of the "anti-fan". I am probably too old for such a plot. Its just too stretched even for korean drama standard. Big no from me. I know nobody cares, but I had to say it.

Kate May 15 2021 8:20 am I haven't watched a light-hearted series for quite some time coz they tend to be less entertaining as the stories continue. But, this one really makes me entertain and anticipate the upcoming episodes. I also like how the male lead usually teases the female lead and love their cute banters everytime they have time to do so.

Though I find the second female lead annoying, in that sense she has played her role well. Chansung's role also is a bit obsessive but I observe that he started to have his attention on the FL. (I haven't read the webtoon , so I don't have any idea of his entire role yet).

Overall, I like the flow of the story. I have been into Kdramas for more than a decade and I've had enough romcoms before, so I'm picky with such genres. But SIMTAF is different from the recent romcoms that most viewers opted to watch.

My bet these days are series about the entertainment industry so this is a must-watch.

Mia May 13 2021 5:24 pm I readed the webtoon long ago and surely it's really a good one but when it comes to drama I'm a little disappointed because of the male lead choice. I love Tae-Joon and his acting, happy for him to get his first lead role but to be honest I watched first two episode and I can't really getting the top star idol vibe from him. I think this idol role doesn't suit him well. Personally for this drama male lead actor should be looking more confident, cool person because he is a worldwide top star and also we should be able to see he is super annoyed or angry from his face. Tae-Joon looking too innocent and pure even when he should be so angry or arrogant for some scenes. If I could choose an actor for this drama my first choice would be Seo-Kang Joon for sure, the second would be Woo Do-Hwan and maybe a real idol like Rowoon could be suit well. I think these actors are looking more alike Who-Joon in the webtoon. Of course these are just my feelings, I'm not saying it's a bad drama, casting or anything like that. Anyway, its still a great drama! Wishing for high raiting <3

I just hope someday this drama could air, just feel bad for the Actresses and Actors who already worked so hard for this pre production drama. Just look on the Webtoon! My Anti-Fans definitely has better and certain storyline than that next meaningless Webtoon’s adaption drama, True Beauty!

So, I just read that the production team is unable to find a channel where they can air the Drama. At first SBS was going to telecast but then they said its a groundless statement.

Even if they find a channel, it will be difficult for the two male leads to promote the show as both Choi Tae-Joon and Chansung are Serving the Military.
