Ha Chae-Yoon (Son Ye-Jin) is a crisis negotiator for the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency. She carries herself with a calm and cool-headed attitude. Min Tae-Gu (Hyun-Bin) is a weapons smuggler for an international crime organization. He stages a terrifying hostage situation and Ha Chae-Yoon only has 12 hours to save the hostages.

Hyun-Bin plays a villain for the first time in his acting career.

DCAnne Sep 18 2025 3:16 pm Just saw this suspenseful movie last night (9/18/25) at the Korean Cultural Center in Washington, D.C. and absolutely loved it. Superb acting, fast-paced action with a cast that pulls you in. Each actor is terrific. The 2 leads, Son Ye-Jin and Hyun-Bin, grab you and don't let go. Highly recommend this film. I am fortunate to have seen it.

Son Ye-Jin again delivers as the detective/negotiator, though she looks too pretty to be one in my opinion lol. I love her short hair here, she looks so youthful. I watched Crash Landing on You before watching this movie. Though Hyun Bin and Son Ye-Jin are not romantic partners in this one, I still think they had some romantic chemistry in some scenes. A well-written movie that gives that suspense feeling until the end.

Veeveevee Feb 18 2020 11:59 am This movie had my heart up in my sleeve. I couldn't predict how the story would go. Props to the acting prowess of Hyun bin. He really gave me the chills. But despite how he was so scary as a kidnapper, you can never hate him as he made sure that you'll be more curious about his character.

His dialogues with Son Ye Jin was amazing. Their chemistry really radiates despite having only one scene and primarily communicating via video calls. I'm not even surprised that PDs and writers realized the same that they got casting offers for drama series right after this.

When i saw Kim Sang-Ho , i was sure this movie will be extraordinary ? he knows how to choose the right movie or drama Thanks for everyone in this teamwork , you really did a great job ?

Jinjoo Nov 05 2019 4:00 pm this movie was well made and it made me feel i was watching a hollywood production bc of its excellent directing etc plus luv hyun bin and son ye jin teaming here! min tae gu got mad bc of his sister's untimely death in the hands of some corrupt people incldg some powers that be and ha chae yon was there to help him w/negotiations! a powerful character of son ye jin and so happy they'll team up in a new drama this month crash landing etc. can't wait!

Migthy Thor Dec 27 2018 6:55 am WoW! This is really one fine Korean action, drama, crime, suspense movie! And of course again, such a fantastic performance of Son Ye-Jin and Hyun-Bin !!! I just hope that Director Lee Jong-Suk and Writer Choi Sung-Hyun watched the Hollywood movie "The Negotiator" starred by Samuel L. Jackson and Kevin Spacey and did some further research on the material so they could have really perfected this movie, nevertheless, it's still a great movie! I super-duper highly recommend it!

CONGRATULATIONS to the entire production specially to the cast !!! You did a GREAT job!

Both of Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin perform very well for their roles, the content is also good but need a little bit more intense in some parts, especially at the middle of the film. Overall, that film is meeting up my expectation and i will re-watch at some point.
