Soo-Yeol (Lee Dong-Wook) works as a police officer for the Mooui Police Department. He is competent at his job, but he also has questionable ethics. He will do anything to achieve success. Due to his ambitious personality, he has received promotions in a short period of time. His smooth life suddenly changes with the appearance of K (Wi Ha-Jun). K is a righteous person, but also a crazy person. Whenever he faces injustice, he meets it with a fist. He dreams of being a hero.

Meanwhile, Hee-Gyeom (Han Ji-Eun) works as a police lieutenant on the drug squad at the Mooui Police Department. She is also a righteous person and enthusiastic at her job. She once dated Soo-Yeol.

Cheryl Nov 15 2025 7:44 pm I am watching Bad and Crazy for the third time because it is leaving Netflix soon. It is a different storyline then the average police/crime drama, and I really enjoyed the series. Lee Dong-Wook is great in this role and I think it highlights his good acting. Wi Ha-Joon really does a great job too, as K and together they make this something special. I would love to see them together again. The whole cast is amazing and has good chemistry overall. I highly recommend it.

You can learned the justice and injustice in this era and its up to you on how you handle it in your own perspective. So much to say about the twist and fun but more into the deep and depth morale of the story is to offer a society that this drama is not just a drama but to awaken the minds of viewers to be keen and keep the morale of your character to its goodness, even if there are bad circumstances you must know where to stand on whats righteous for everyone.

Did they maybe win best couple award? :D Again, I can't say I didn't like any of the actors or characters, this drama has a great cast. Cha Hak-Yeon did a great job, maybe Han Ji-Eun could have had more screen time, but it's really not easy when you have a great cast and only 12 episodes. So yes, I recommend watching this drama if you haven't yet. It's crazy. It's fun :)

King Pup 1722 Jun 02 2023 9:52 pm It’s a madcap drama, I was hesitant about watching it but it turned out to be an enjoyable watch.

Obviously the director wanted viewers to just have a good time watching the wild interactions between Lee Dong-Wook and his alter ego Wi Ha-Joon, and I must say he succeeded. The two guys are hilarious whenever they’re together in scenes.

Jung Sung-Il is also outstanding in how he portrayed the psychiatrist that manipulated his patients into committing acts of violence. He’s of course gone on to achieve even greater recognition in The Glory.

All in all, the drama wants viewers not to take it too seriously, so even the scenes with violence were done in a way that wasn’t too extreme. Watch it if you haven’t, for a relaxing time!

I also like Wi Ha-Joon and have seen a few dramas that he was in and like him also. I not a fan of blood and guts but with some fast forwarding area I made it thru! Good drama although I got confused at times as it was hard to follow but now back to less excitement with romance drama!!!!!!

GM Feb 10 2023 12:41 am First off let me just say don't trust the reviews unless you're into this type of drama genre already. I was a little intimidated by the reviews saying it wasn't good. Didn't know whether to watch it or not, but let me say if you enjoy crime, mystery, good humor, and action then I highly recommend!!!!! In the beginning it did get me on my toes like wthhh is going on lol(in a good way) but I swear every episode definitely made me laugh and made me want to go onto the next episodes and so forth. Lee dong wook is such a character in this drama and I love it! The hilarious chemistry between him and K is as enjoyable as watching him and Gong Yoo in Goblin! I love it!!! Definitely give this drama a try!!!

Anne Feb 07 2023 6:09 am SPOILERS. I am suffering from the same condition as the main lead and I have to say: it is one of the best series I have ever watched and I felt very well represented.

The emotions they portraited are quite authentic and in line with what i experienced. From the arguments you have with your alter ego, to needing them when in danger and missing them when they are not arround. For the mentally normal person this might sound weird and crazy but for someone who is actually having multiple personalities it is very relatable (at least it was for me).

The way they explored childhood trauma and the first appearence of K is very coherent with what i know about the mental condition so far (in fact multi personalities are a trauma respond). The only thing is that you usually dont actually see the other person the way that ryu sees K standing in front of him. But this cinematic trick represents the way the other personalities talk to you in your head (yes that's what they do). The way they conclude the series and the relationship between K and ryu (ryu integrating K's character into his personality) is even a goal in therapy when working with this condition though it is not always possible or desired. All in all i think they researched the condition well.

For the able viewer it might just look like a weird all over the place character design. But for me the series actually gave me hope. Ryu being able to be the "hero" of the drama, fighting evil and doing his thing gave me the hope that I can be able to at least manage my daily life, maybe one day get a job and lead a meaningful live - despite all what's going on in my head. They managed to not making him the victim or villian and kept a distance from schizophrenia (which is often confused with multi personalities but is something else). also the story wasn't all about Having Multi Personalities but also a cool cop/mafia drama.

I think the storyline and overall character design was amazing, fast pacing and kept me on the edge of my seat, too. But I wanted to let others know my take on ryus mental state as someone who goes through the same thing.

I liked Uncanny Counter, but cannot say I liked this one from him, story is mildly interesting and slow, lot of fluff that does not contribute to main story, like watching side characters slurp ramen while on stakeout. There is about 2hrs of content here spread into 12.

Norik BC Dec 02 2022 11:01 pm I watched this show for Lee dong wook one of my favorites since I saw him in Goblin , then my new favorite wi ha joon since the squid game, When the actors are good the storyline or directing is really secondary , watching good and versatile acting along being good looking is the best way to watch a k drama. Reallynay sayers , both are plying very unique and comical roles with great agility , I love it very light and funny scenarios pop up throughout the drama , I don’t understand why the low rating ? It’s intriguing and and suspension with a edge of comical twist , how much more can one drama do? Secondary cast is good in their own way, director writer too , it’s a fun drama totally worth watching . Bravo to all

I tried to give it a chance and I’m only four episodes in and I can’t even finish the episode. It’s just not enjoyable to watch. Ryu is just not an enjoyable character and just makes this entirely hard to watch with how shallow he is. And it’s also not enjoyable for detective Oh’s screen time is him getting beat up, him as a cop I wanted to see more because he seems to be some of the few who aren’t corrupt he’s actual wants to do what a cop does. And as for the female lead she is barely on the screen as far as I’ve seen. This show is just not enjoyable for me the only enjoyable character is K and maybe detective Oh when he’s not being beat up every time he’s on the screen. But the rest make this entirely impossible to get into or ads just are there.

nem Apr 16 2022 9:01 am I enjoyed watching bad and crazy, the acting was good and I love how they managed to show how split personalities tend to form and how they protect the main but its another one of those dramas that portray psychologists/psychiatrists/mental health professionals as evil beings. I am sincerely concerned that there are some people who are reluctant to seek help for their mental well being because of these shows. I hope everyone would keep in mind that the movies and dramas you watch are fiction (unless stated otherwise) and our mental health professionals are more than willing to help with no bad intentions. remember that it's okay to ask for help because asking for help is not a sign of weakness.

The show tried to be all-in-ome show: comedy, action, romantic, thriller and sentimental. Personally, I found none of the comedies fun, except for the Mind Mender guy. He was just fun to watch. On the romantic side, I found the (strong) female girlfriend to be too childish, annoying and not interesting. In fact, the bad girl was much better written and acted.

The show have a good start, but somehow climaxed too soon and starting to turn downhill at midshow. Too bad, cannot write about it without spoiler. It just took a u-turn on focus, and somehow became worse.

Anyway, this is a show one can watch or just skip.

Now, waiting for "Happiness" and hoping it will bring happiness in watching it.

Jancook Feb 28 2022 3:46 am I know some people are complaining about plot hole, originality of the story, acting and so on... You guys have something to compare, etc. dramas or series you watched in the past. So, you started watching this with high expectation, which makes you disappointed easily.

I started watching this drama with zero expectation since I don't want to compare it with any other dramas I've watched before. The result? Totally a great experience to watch it from ep 1 to 12. This series is highly entertaining. I'd definitely recommend it for LDW fans and people like "me". Definitely waiting for the second season!

Then when the truck stopped, and abit 'pressed for time' bcs the driver might find out.. only then the start digging out whats in the box...dont get it..

The storyline was a little shaky some part but honestly it was ok cause at least its only 12 episodes so they didn't drag the whole show. The fight scenes were great. Been a while since I watched a good action bromance kdrama. Ha Joon- and Dong-wook really carried the show and proved that sometimes acting trumps story. Also the chemistry with the rest of cast was great too. Dong-wook is the best at bromance!!! I'm down for a season2..fighting!

I also thought it was so weird sometimes because after one solved case there was another which was kind of connected with the other but also not? But in the end it all made sense. The chemistey was so good and it was so funny. Not the best crime one I watched, but definitely funny and good! I loved it. Definitely worth watching. There are several dramas out there which are more of a waste of time. Like 90% of the romance ones

This drama is packed with action, crime, comedy and it will make you cry and laugh. Also highlights split personality disorder and it just made the whole drama so interesting. I liked how there were multiple cases to solve as it makes it more fun. I absolutely adored Lee Dong Wook's and Wi Ja Hoon's character. The bromance and chemistry between Soo-Yeol and K is unmatched. All actors did an incredible job in portraying their characters. I loved Boss Yong such an icon ? and I thought the fake psychiatrist was hilarious. The female lead Hee-Gyeom was such a bad ass character, loved her acting. I would give this drama a strong 8 out of 10 and I will deffo re-watch it in the future.

Sometimes it felt like the all the crimes were connected to one another and the split personality was not addressed in the beginning but suddenly did from around the 7th on with the matrix and all. Overall the drama was good. I really enjoyed it that I waited and watched all the series in a row without keeping my phone down. Waiting for the 12th epi now. Hearing that it’s gonna end in 12 was a shock. I feel like the series is not gonna give us a smooth ending. Therefore there is potential for a second season. Maybe introduce a scene several years done the line and involve the other leads in the story line more. I felt that the female lead Hee Gyeom and the young police officer, Oh Kyung Tae was not given much screen time and their story lines were not very strong. Like their relationship development with the others in the cast was poor. An obvious example: it was seen at one point there was a chemistry that was reigniting between the Lee Hee Gyeom and the male lead, Soo Yeol but after that episode it was never addressed again. Or even the initial work partner of the main lead, Jae Sun was suddenly ditched and wasn’t shown around much. Also while the other officers were also solving important parts of the crime almost all attention was given to the part of the crime that the main lead was involved in. Which felt unbalanced. Eg: when male leads were hunting down Sun Jung Hoon and the Hee Gyeom, Boss Yong, not much screen time was given to the part of the same crime that Hee Gyeom was solving.

WiL Jan 21 2022 8:46 pm The drama is good untill episode 6, after that it's getting so boring, sadly, great actors but bad script writers, the story is too slow and there are too many secondary characters with their own stories, it makes the whole drama too messy and keeping us frustrated, it's like beating around the bush, we keep watching the same pattern : a new criminal tracking mission episode after episode, it's dragging the story for too long, it loses its originality and then we lose interest, I think a lot of people dropped and stopped watching the drama just like I did because of those reasons. Too bad, the first episodes were good, good ideas but now it's all messy and falling apart, I lost all the hype to discover who is the main "secret villain", why ? Because they chose to reveal us who it is before we even meet him, also it's taking too long for the main character to finally get to him.

However, there are just quite many flaws in the plot that make the good people aka police seem so amateurish & foolish. Especially so for the female lead playing Lee Hui geom. What's with the long curly hair, tight top & flare jeans?? Is she in the same era with the rest? She looks so dated & the script makes her quite moronic, like when she was incarcerated, she couldn't even fight off 2 or 3 female inmates!! Then, she can go fight bare fisted with the Korean-Russian ruffians? It seems that the crooks are always the smarter ones and steps ahead of the good guys!!

This gives us a thought of our psychological thinking that bring two choices. Either we chose right or wrong. But in this drama, Wi Ha Joon forced Lee Dong Wook to do the right. This will be remain as a masterpiece. Hope this drama could be introduce to the people who don't know how cool is Lee Dong Wook' act.

lunarcaelum Jan 11 2022 9:58 am I love this series, but I think the way they bring up the psychological issue (D.I.D) seems a bit forced, DID doesn't supposed to be conclude that quick, isn't it?. How come, both of the psychologist diagnose Soo Yeol having another personality in the first met? Event a more common illness, like bipolar can't be diagnosed that fast. Is it just me who feel this way?

However, I love series a lot. Both Wi Ha Joon and Lee Dong Wook nailed the role! Love the bromance, comedy, and action in this series. Can't wait to watch the next episodes <3

Brenda Anderson Jan 10 2022 2:28 pm I love the two main actors playing the two personalities of the one officer. Lee Dong-Wook and Wi Ha-Joon are 2 of my favs!! There is so much humor…..I’m gonna die laughing. My favourite part so far is when Lee Dong-Wook‘s character sees his car with dents in the hood and roof, driver-side mirror broken, etc and he’s like “no no no no no!! Who could’ve done this to my car!?“ Later on he’s watching the parking garage security video where it shows himself jumping up and down on the roof of his car and breaking the mirror. The look on Lee Dong-Wook’s face shows total confusion… It is so funny! Lee Dong-Wook is superb in this role!

There are several criminals involved which makes this drama more interesting to watch. Am intrigued to find out about Ryu Soo-Yeol childhood trauma and how his split personality has developed. His brother Ryu Dong-Yeol is just hilarious and I like the bad ass female lead Lee Hee-Gyeom. LeeDong Wook's acting is brilliant - I loved him in Strangers from Hell. And I fell for Mr. K, he is so funny and definitely my highlight in this drama. I can't wait for the next episode.!! :)

Feel bad for wi guy as for two episodes 90pc time he spent wearing helmet which may change ftom ep 3. So the main body is Soo Yeol and the second personality/persona is K! AsianWiki should update the synopsis for this drama. It could be misleading because I thought it was two whole different people. It's two personalities in one body! Still super excited for this drama!
