The Professor (Yoo Ji-Tae) schemes an ambitious heist that will have a massive payout. For his plan, the Professor scouts for potential team members. The recruited members select city names as their code names and they all have strong personalities. Their plan seems perfect, but due to the hostages that they take, they face an unexpected situation.

Notes

Drama series is a remake of Spanish television series "La casa de papel" ("Money Heist") that first aired on Antena 3 on May 2 2017.
Park Jung-Woo was first cast to play the character of Rio, but dropped out for unspecified reasons.

and since i'm here, as the biggest fan of the original series, i actually like this version of Tokyo and Berlin because they are so freaking intimidating. and of course Denver x Stockholm because they are sooooo good-looking

bad thing is that Professor, Nairobi and Lisbon don't have a strong character as compared to the original. last but not least, i don't think anyone will be able to outdo my boy Arturo's performance in terms of being the most hated character LOL

Tiffany Sep 22 2022 4:59 am People rate this low, but I found this better than the original (something is not common to me as well...) I sometimes fell asleep watching the Spanish version because it dragged a bit way too long.

Also, the Korean one used more of an Asian way of mindset in the plot, punishing others when you do something wrong lol. Tokyo in the Korean version is more likely to look like a storyteller, who is supposed to be the main character or at least someone who doesn't do crazy things. She is also kind.

And I like how they changed the details, so it is not too predictable. Maybe I'm being biased, but 6 episodes are just enough lol

The stupidity of the robbers and the hostages doing what they want to do with nothing happening. You really expect much better for a Korean drama, but, not in this case. They would of kept me watching if a bullet was put into the head of the Director. But, at last, this is a Korean Drama.

Nah Jun 30 2022 7:23 pm This is really only meant for people who have not watched, and no intention to watch the Spanish original which was very good on many levels. And why would you? They have stripped off the strengths of the original and only put in bad acting, all the way from main leads to the walk-through extras. Not keen on the ‘summarized’ plot and so-so directing. Skip this and go original. It’s not on the same level.

I love the robbers, especially Berlin, Tokyo, and Denver. And yes, the actor that played the Mint Director also played his role very well because he has successfully become the most annoying character throughout the series, haha. He really needs a punch on his face. Can't wait for the next 6 episodes.

madeinsiy Jun 28 2022 8:30 am I wasn't really a fan of the original anyway and the reason I've watched this one was because of the cast. Truth is, I would've prefer if they just took the main points (a huge heist that doesn't really effect the public, thieves nicknamed cities around the world gathered by a mastermind, arguing detectives from different povs) and went different routes. In fact, I loved the all joint economic area plot and I wished they went on and kept creating new points after that too. But yeah, drama as a whole is kinda boring as audience we already know all the twists and turns, possible upcoming deaths etc.

M. Press Jun 27 2022 10:06 am OK, I won't lie I almost tanked the series at the 1st episode. There was no tension or excitement. But because some of the cast are my fave actors I gave it another go. I'm at ep. 5 and I would say it's a strong effort. The Professor and the cop lady are a bit disappointing in terms of zero chemistry or swag like the originals. To save the drama are intriguing characters like Park Hae soo, Kim Ji hoon and that director guy who I feel like smacking each time haha.

"ah this is the same" because Korean versions always make you more tense, like Suits, less than evil (luther), Designated Survivor: 60 Days. Anyway, I'm enjoying it, even though it's all very fast, and I stayed from the 1st to the 6th episode waiting for Seoul (Im ji yeon)

Elise Jun 26 2022 10:01 am Budget version of the original Money Heist. Some casting choices were questinable especially Rio and The Professor. Rio looked like a teen gamer trying to break bad. Overall it's inferior to the original, very rushed as well.
