Tamako (Atsuko Maeda) graduated from a university in Tokyo, but she now lives with her father back in Kofu. Tamako doesn't help her father or tries to get a job. She spends her time just eating and sleeping throughout the four seasons of the year.

slt Sep 16 2014 8:55 pm Atsuko Maeda was sweetly lovely as usual but this movie is the BEST “medicine” humanity has ever invented so far to cure insomnia! The culmination of sleeping practices and the supreme method for a fast asleep! I think I stand watching it for only forty minutes, wondering what a hell I’m watching, where this movie going and what will happen next, but then Hypnos and Morpheus (not from Matrix…) come to my house and I sank into a deep peaceful sweet serene sleep! Thank's ^_^ I watched the rest of the movie next night and in the end I slept again, almost instantaneous this time! Thank's again ^_^

But the movie is not a waste of time or boring to death as some ignorant people say. The scene in the train station, when Tamako sees a girl who is waiting the train and greet each other, I think that it has a deep philosophical meaning, but I’m not pretty sure what it is...
