Matthew Lee (Ahn Hyo-Seop) is young farmer nicknamed Quail. He speaks with a gruff tone, but he has a warm heart. He cultivates white-flowered nuri mushroom with great care. One day, Dam Ye-Jin (Chae Won-Bin) shows up during his tranquil routine. She is the top host for home shopping network Hit and she is personally obsessed with white-flowered nuri mushroom. She is here to renew their contract for the white-flowered nuri mushroom. No matter how many times he refuses, she persistently pursues him. Their relationship soon blossoms into romance.

Nik Jul 10 2026 5:18 pm For me, this is a feel-good drama :) I would say it has a rather standard theme, but it was fun to watch, I liked the comedy elements, nothing too dramatic. The actors had fun and the ending credits also were kinda "special" in my opinion as I didn't see those often. Final words: time well spent :)

KAF Jun 17 2026 8:37 pm @Kimchenhh. She was using heavy sleeping drugs which lead her to sleepwalking and she hurt herself in doors and especially outside. The drugs also made her have hallucinations. She wasnt aware of anything that she was doing or saying. Even if you have been disowned and rejected as a child by your own mother you still want and need her. Her Mom gave her a paper with her phone number on it at about age 6. She called her mom every night at 8pm. Until her early teens when she was publicly rejected in her moms hospital room. Humiliated, abandoned and disowned. Yei ji while under the heavy sleeping pills would still call her mom and wanted to tell her things about her current life to share. It made Dam Yein ji feel a sense of connection and longing that didnt exist in her real life. But who doesn't want a kind loving mother?She kept her mom's number in her phone not knowing that her mother changed her number. So Hae joo ended up getting her mom's old phone number. So she in her sleep state thought she was talking to her mom. Maybe you fast forwarded it or didnt see those parts. It makes perfect sense. This series was an emotional depth that so many people cant' understand . My entire life has been trauma. Especially with my parents who were selfish and dysfunctional. Everything in this series was spot on!! I loved how everyone worked theough all of their big emotions to find a happy ending and to finally accept, forgive and move on. Everyone was hurt or betrayed in this story. A lot of you didn't notice that. That healing is what happened in the end. It was a great story.

I loved all the main theme of the show and how all 3 companies and the people involved came together. So happy to see Kim Bum acting again. And I couldn't take my eyes off off Ahn Hyo Seop. I thought all the cast were great with good chemistry. I got so into it I feel like Im a fly on the wall watching them all interact and progress as characters. Ill be sad to let them go as I move to another Kdrama. FLwas so adorable. I would want to be her friend if in real life. She didnt have any flaws as others say. She was strong and her life forever changed in a negitive way because of her parents. Those wounds are deep. If you haven't had trauma in your life you can never understand Dam Ye Jini. She Is Amazing. She is protecting her self because her parents who were supposed to weren't able too. She is so insecure because of this. That is why she is who she is. She has to prove herself worthy to be loved. Etc. You either get it or you dont.The only thing in the story that made no sense was that Dam Ye Jin was blamed for Som yi skin reaction. Why.? The kid ate the food as her own choice knowing what would happen to her. So I thought that part was a bit weird. I give it 9/10. Im happy I watched it and will remember it.

Just Jun 09 2026 1:16 am I don't understand how ppl like the FL exists irl. She's so annoying, entitled, and her persistence to get what she wants is on another level of exasperating. And how she's consistently saying to the ML "my beauty" like she thinks she's super beautiful or she's Aphrodite. Just from the first episode when she thinks he followed her, then her constant begging in whiny voice, damn, continuing to watch this drama is a struggle because of her. And the ML, if he's so bothered by her midnight calls, use "don't disturb" mode or just block her number! Sometimes these dramas get on my nerves with these small details. The plot itself is just typical drama where the FL is being fought over by 2 men that honestly out of her league (both are CEOs, ffs) and that's so unrealistic. It's just my opinion, but the FL character can be written better.

Leo Jun 02 2026 7:07 am I understand why the ratings were bad. Even though it has a good premise and story, but the male lead character was made with too much cynical attitude, at some point it's ruined to romcom nuance of this drama. I think this is purely in the wrongs of the director.

I mean, their collaborative relationship doesn't allow for a "how are you? how have you been? how was your day? I appreciate the gesture of traveling all the way to Seoul" Come on, that was really exaggerated on the part of the director, this is my opinion.

mike May 27 2026 3:09 am at first it was good but the producer, scriptwriter and director must writing the plot while high in drugs. they kept introducing unnecessary twist into it that the whole drama feel frustrated to watch. it also becoming unwatchful with all this twist.

Avi May 25 2026 12:12 pm I think people forget that trauma, and any trauma-related matter more generally, is going to be complicated to deal with. Whatever happened to you with one person will, very often, ricochet onto other people unknowingly. Yejin's issues with her mom will inevitably cause her to disconnect from people - hell, she feels abandoned and finds it hard to reach out when it feels like everyone is agaisnt her, no matter how hard people try and that resonates so hard with me who went through something akin to that myself.

It's not just as easy as moving on with your life when it feels like it was never yours to begin with. It's ahrd to live a life that was made to feel like it wasn't built on nothing at all - and Yejin's slow discovery is part of that process of trying to find what is best for HER to do.

And for the ML, I see that he's been through SO much as well and Ep. 9 reveals exactly that. Trauma manifests, affects, and appears differently for everyone - and coping does too, even if the unabashedly holier-than-thou think otherwise. I see no problem with how the story is handling trauma this way, and I think it's an opportunity for people to take off those weird ass thoughts that moving on is THAT easy.

P.S. If y'all just wanna say it sucked, say it sucked and tune out - no reason to try and veil it with some pseudo-psychoanalysis.

Mel May 24 2026 3:37 pm The drama does not teach good values to young people... female lead drawn to get attention from a mother who abandoned her when she was a child and , denies her existence so that she protect her movie career while on the other hand, the female lead totally is rude and inconsiderate to her father who is always at her side , cooks for her, checks on her etc... she cold shoulders him and even throws the food he prepares ( what a waste )... not worth watching .... I hope they give a better role to Kim Bum next time !

The drama explicitly portrays the image of an arrogant, foolish man who lacks appreciation for women. This repetitive and unappealing storyline ultimately made the series highly off-putting. I would rate it a 1 out of 10 and not worth watching.

The dude has zero win rate because both launches of his mushroom failed, despite his years of isolation in the village lmao. ThisIsnotfrench May 14 2026 9:52 am The show is cute and quirky, albeit with some lacklustre plot carried by the comedic abilities of its acting and the chemistry of the cast.

BUT everyone who speaks french beware - this shows interpretation/version of french is even worse and more offensive than the french in Love Next Door.

And whats worse is that we have multiple cast members trying their worst at "french" in this show. I'm not sure why Kdramas insist on having their actors use foreign languages that they cannot speak. The characters in question here are supposed to be french-korean citizens who have spend their childhood growing up in france yet they can't even pronounce anything in french. Either use actors that actually speak foreign languages to cast in roles that require foreign languages or change the script so that their inability to speak a specific language can be explained away (like if they speak mandarin or english then give them a background from countries where they speak that language)

At the same time, I wasn't that excited for a new episode. But, now it's getting fun, can't wait to see how their relationship develops. Well, now I enjoy watching it. This might not be everyone's cup of tea and it's fine.

They are also both very good looking. The ensemble cast members are great. I don't remember Kim Bum playing a character like this before, and I think he is doing it convincingly. I am hoping for good things to happen to his character. I really like the soundtrack. I look forward to this show every week.

Could do without the ptsd but whatevs. I don't get what peeps are saying about the FL's mouth but I'm shocked no one is mentioning that she's basically a skeleton?? She's sooooo thin! Like it's almost scary... Love this drama though!!

Anyway, first 3 eps were weird but then unexpectedly we have some nice development. Kudos

J May 07 2026 12:07 pm Please stick with this drama - it gets good from ep4 onwards. The first three episodes could have/should have been wrapped up in a maximum of 2 episodes. Once Dam Ye Jin (Chae Won-Bin) calms down (i.e., not being really loud) the drama becomes really good, as does the story between her and Ahn Hyo-Seop's character starts to develop.

F May 04 2026 5:15 am I was excited to watch this because of Kim Beom. Ahn Hyo-seop was good too. But the FL, for me, I can't understand her situation when she become unconscious.. I think it looks exagerrated that she didn't know what she's doing.. because of what? I can't connect to her feelings. So I dropped it.

This had so much potential — great cast, decent setup, and Ahn Hyo-seop looking like THAT — and somehow they still managed to fumble it by making the female lead one of the most insufferable characters I’ve watched in a while.

There’s a difference between “quirky and persistent” and “actively ignoring boundaries, common sense, and basic human decency,” and she sprinted past that line at full speed. Trespassing, harassment, refusing to take no for an answer, physically invading personal space, and then having the audacity to act like *she’s* the victim? Be serious.

And the worst part? The show keeps treating this behavior like it’s cute or funny. It’s not. It’s exhausting.

I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt because in her calmer moments she’s actually likeable, but every time she interacted with Matthew it turned into a full-blown “how far can we push this before the audience loses their mind” experiment. Spoiler: not very far.

The phone calls I could excuse. Everything else? Absolutely not.

Final straw was her yelling at her dad for bringing her food. That was the moment I realized I don’t like her enough to sit through another minute of this.

Ahn Hyo-seop, I’m so sorry. You did your best. But not even your face can carry a show when I actively dread seeing one of the main characters on screen.

Dropped at episode 3 with zero regrets.

I don’t understand why the female lead gets so much hate — she fits the role well, she’s beautiful and charming, and she has great chemistry with the male lead. Their dynamic makes the story feel sweet and engaging.

Yes, the plot is familiar, but for me it’s comforting and fun to watch. Everyone has different tastes. If I don’t like a drama — whether it’s the leads, the story, or anything else — I simply stop watching. It saves me the stress of getting annoyed.

So if you decide to watch this one, just enjoy it for what it is.

I feel like the pacing is kinda slow, perhaps not a lot of things is happening in the storyline so they have to drag it a little but it's only 12 episodes, hope it gets better, I'm not dropping it yet since I'm just keeping it in the background while I keep myself productive with chores
