Seo Jae-Won (Jang Na-Ra) is fortunate to have a near perfect personal and work life. She is the CEO of a furniture company that has millions of dollars in sales annually and she is also a social media influencer with over a million followers. She scouts a designer, Yoon Te-O (Lee Ki-Taek), to become the general manager of design at her company. In her personal life, Seo Jae-Won has her beloved husband Heo Soon-Young (Son Ho-Jun) and their lovely child. Heo Soon-Young works as a freelancer designer and a professor in industrial design. He is a warm-hearted person who hardly ever burst out in an anger. After their marriage, Heo Soon-Young prioritizes his family over everything else.

Meanwhile, Kwon Yoo-Jin (So E-Hyun) graduated in the same art department of university as Seo Jae-Won. She is experiencing a difficult time with her divorce and her art career is quickly fading away. After she reconnects with Seo Jae-Won, she becomes jealous of her near perfect life. Seo Jae-Won’s life soon changes. She is betrayed by people who she trusts and she faces secrets that people around her hides.

"My Happy Ending" takes over TV Chosun's Saturday & Sunday 21:00 time slot previously occupied by "Durian's Affair" and followed by "DNA Lover" on August 17, 2024.
Ep.13 & 14, that was originally scheduled to air the weekend of February 10th and 11th, will air instead on the weekend of February 17th and 18th. The delay is due to the Lunar New Year holiday and to improve the quality of filming for those episodes.

thresia Dec 21 2025 1:04 am very good drama. give me some new perspectives about parent's love, mental health situation, about how to accept and love ourselves, and how it's ok to be not ok and to accept other's help and appreciate little things. brings emotions so deep my heart feel ache and hurt, even for the villains but simple things also make feels so happy. too bad the ending for the worst villain is just like that, she got off too easy. good job for all actors and all of people who involved in this great drama.

Olll Mar 06 2024 2:47 pm No matter how bad a drama is I never write don't watch but this dram was so bad so bad like so useless had no purpose like literally nothing, no meaning no purpose nothing just pure stupid torture too much torture that it will be such a waste of energy to watch it. No wonder ratings never improved. 95pc mishaps could have been avoided by fl by acting like a mature person, protecting herself, her daughter, hiring security outing her psycho friend but no. This isn't literal example but just an example of her behavior towards herself, her daughter, if she or her daughter is standing on corner of road and she knows if any of them will step on road and will be on one specific spot after lets say 2 minutes she will be hit by the car, female lead will actually do this, will go and stand on the spot after 2 minutes or let her daughter do that and when danger will come she will be shown shaky, moving her head left right, all trembling asking for help. This is how bad show was.

I was thinking that the ending might be boring so I delayed watching it, now that I just finished watching the ending, "I'm like why did I not watch this sooner "? Thanks to the writer you help our concentration till the very end, it got better by each episode till the end. Thank you. The director did a great job. The delivery was wonderful. But hey writer-nim, what happened? Even these great lead actors cannot save the drama! The story is so messed up! You casted two amazing actors but didn't give them justice and did not maximized their full potential. I hope Jang Nara and Son Hojun won't accept this kind of storyline again, just a waste of time watching this! So stressful and messed up!

Lollly Feb 23 2024 7:45 pm When ep 1 and 2 aired i had said it is a very stressful drama and i dropped it at ep 4 but picked it because some people said oh story has improved it did engage for a while from ep 5 till maybe ep 9 and went downhill. Even when drama was interesting and when it is not both ways it was a very stressful show and extreme gloominess of 1st 2 episodes came back to the show.

From ep 11 onwards it is a mess and very stressful. One wants to ask the writer why make villain all the time. But it seems writers had no plot to write in first place so thry use viewers anger to keep them watching but even then people didn't watch the show.

jillian Feb 19 2024 1:53 pm I'm a big fan of Jang Na-Ra and Son Ho-Jun since Go Back Couple! The reason why I look forward watching My Happy Ending since the day it was announced. But then, I really am getting a lot of stress from this drama since episode 1. So many questions from my mind as to why the FL was not doing anything with her problem. Her stalker for 7 years which almost got her killed. Why can't she just hired a detective to protect her?!? Her anxieties and all! I understand when they reveal that she has a bipolar issue.

However, I cannot take it that it is only Episode 9; when her husband Heo Seon-Young and almost everyone around her (except her friend(?) Kwon Yoon-Jin) is trying to make it up with her to be happy. So, why do you have to make Heo Seon-Young, her husband got killed?!? And it's almost halfway through the ending?!? Whoever is the killer, whoever did this, I think I'm going to let this go! I will stop watching this from now on! I cannot take it anymore!! I feel like I am watching this because of the ML- Heo Soon-Young and there's no more reason for me to stay and wait for the story to end. I GIVE UP!!!

Looks like the antagonist gets more power n very lucky in all the way she wants. Meanwhile the protagonist becomes weaker and crazier. There are 2 more eps, let’s see if there is a miracle for Jae-Won.

It is filled with several episodes where the antagonist gets more power... become more clever... while the protagonist becomes weaker and crazier... unable to solve her problems... The good team is so slow... Many bad things come their way... and they are very useless and helpless... I wish it would end soon... Hopefully there will be more episodes showing how the good will overcome evil... and that they will become happy... not just at the end of episode 16... Ran Jan 30 2024 10:02 pm Apparently, Seo Jae Won was normal back then, before her mother tried to take their life (suicide at the sea), luckily the suicide attempt failed but since then, Jae Won's soul seems disturbed and slowly turned into a bipolar person due to mental pressure, trauma and depression. I Still don't know what's make Kwon family hate Jae Won so much, beside the jealousy of Yoo Jin. And about the suspicious detective, Nam Tae Joo, I have a crazy feeling that maybe he's Jae Won's biological father, lol. Can't wait for next eps!!

@Pammy : according ep 7-8, Arin father is Sang Beom (at that time was Yoo Jin's husband), Jae Won got a rape by Sang Beom (he gave Jae Won a drug-laced drink that rendered her unconscious and can't remember anything happen). But who knows there will be plot twist, maybe Arin's father is someone else. Idk

Are u getting mad of the ml being killed like that? Well, he didn't give that much of a lead role here, the main lead is only jaewon so why are u getting mad guys? Tho all of these people were hurt by the misunderstandings, if i am to choose who to blame, it will be the husband, soonyoung. If he's good enough, why didn't he at least find the truth before deciding to execute the 'cheating' plan with yoonjin? He's acting like he's the one who's hurting that much while jaewon here doesnt even know what's right and what's wrong, and what's real and what's not. Honestly, im crying on the ep 10 not because of soonyoung died, but rather because jaewon lost her husband, and arin lost his father. Well there's more ep to go, we dont know what will happen, but i really hope tae oh stay by jaewon's side till the end. Now that jaewon is trying to cure her own illness, and tae oh is there to give every inch of help, I'm here rooting for both of them to make a revenge

Tae Jan 28 2024 3:28 pm I mean I get how frustrating it is for a lot of people because of how abrupt they killed off the husband & I agree it was a very wtf moment but I’m gonna hold off my judgment to see how they’ll handle this in the later episodes. But more importantly I have read a lot of comments everywhere that made me realize how little most people understand mental illness… like saying why did she let it get this far or why she didn’t ask for help sooner etc do you not understand how difficult that is for someone in that state? If you don’t then please refrain from blaming the ill person no one could possibly imagine the chaos that is happening inside of her. And please use this as a reminder that it doesn’t take much to be kind as one can never really know what goes on in another’s mind.

She literally thought that for years she was receiving treatment only to find out that whole person was never real I mean most of us had suspicions but if you look it at from her point of view at this point she cannot trust anything in her life. I’m more curious where tf she got the meds from tho. Yes now it seems she will start to get proper treatment and I’m curious how that would affect the story too & I’ll stop ranting :)

He never once though of abandoning his daughter even though she's not his, his love for her never once changed BUT he couldn't cool down the fire in him remembering how loyal and devoted he stayed to his workaholic wife, he never once doubted on JW while she stayed out or sometimes came home after several days or weeks.  So learning that your daughter is actually not yours would make anyone go crazy especially if you've devoted your entire life to your family. He wanted her to experience the same pain and thus went to her BF who approached him with a hidden purpose.

And HOW the heck was he supposed to guess she might have been R or drunk if she stays most of the time outside ? and she never complained about it too him, she assumed that she slept with her husband and never talked about it again. FL also never told her husband about her illness if he knew about it he could have saved her that night or he would have immediately thought about the possibilities of an SA.

Don’t forget that YW found about it herself, he never had the intention of confronting YW as he wanted to obtain Yerin custody. And he also never once had the intention of accusing YW of having an affair either.

Her friend is seriously the real sick one here she's a pure psycopath who has inferiority complex. She knew about JW condition and never once confronted her BF who was sober enough to carry her drunk bestfriend but planned for years and went on try to steal JW husband and daughter ? Just how obsessed is she about JW "perfect life".

I won't even call JW life perfect being bullied as a child, you're mom gabbling you, living your entire life scared of people discovering your illness, having to hide it to your own husband and waking up with 0 souvenir after a traumatic event Is Not At All A Perfect Life.

And fcking your spouse friend for revenge isn’t new at all especially in K dramas. World of the married FL Sunwoo had s3x with her husband BF Jehyuk and everyone enjoyed and complimented the FL « You go my girl show him » just how biased are y’all ? Why is it different if it’s a man who does it ? ?‍?

As for the drama I think director will do justice and hope that the ending will go well. K dramas like these raises awareness for these types of hidden pain people are suffering from the real world. Lim Jan 21 2024 10:54 pm One might find this drama the usual cheating game plot on the first few episodes but once you held on watching until the middle of the series, so much tangles will began to loosen, enabling you to want to untangle the mess of tangles string from the start to the end. I felt pity on the character played by Jang Nara, hated her on keeping the secret from his husband but that’s just the part of it. The plot plays a lot with the emotion of the viewers, there came a point in one of the episodes that i did wish the FL will eventually end up with the 2nd ML that I once thought of having ill thoughts about her, I even hated the ML on some usual cheating episodes but what truly plays my interest is that I am going to watch this until the end.

This marriage was built on deception and soon young is the one who suffered the most. Some people were name calling him for cheating on her just because it is cool to be pseudo feminists and always blame men, but imagine yourself in a place where your partner has some illness and they hide from you and you find out much later, how much cheated on you would feel? Her dad was still not telling him what her illness is.

SPOILER below

SJW is bipolar, and with stress sometimes she forgets the past, including where she got r-worded by KYJ's boyfriend at that time. KYJ only saw SJW slumped and carried inside a hotel room and saw his boyfriend with messy clothes come out the door. At that time SJW was drunk and unconscious because she drank her bipolar medicine + alcohol that she was pressured to drink by KYJ's dad. KYJ feeling betrayed by her best friend (SJW) cried and had a miscarriage right there in the hotel hallway. With KYJ's inferiority complex since childhood + misunderstanding of the cheating, KYJ began planning revenge on SJW. From my conclusion KYJ then anonymously sent HSY (SJW's husband) info about his kid is not biologically his. HSY got roped into that and got revenge on SJW by cheating with her best friend (KYJ) disguised as his lost twin.

Now the twist and turn makes sense, poor SJW

Like how come few people were talking and sharing about this? This drama is Full of suspense. Things are so unpredictable which makes the experience stressful and amazing. I keep guessing from twin brother to a killer husband. It's not a typical cheating drama I tell you. So better watch this and question yourself every episode. I don't get it why it has 16 episodes cause every episode is in the climax point.

This show actually she's not completely heal from her traumatic childhood.

People also saying why she's doesn't hire bodyguard, tell police what actually going on. But one thing you need to realise is involvement of police, will lead to involve of media, more ever yourself as public figure, do you think dark past of seo jae won is safe which is she's is not seo jae won at the first place but she's Yoon Jin, the secret she's desperately try to cover up.

But even though a lot of interesting things are happening, at some point, I wish it was shorter (or wishing I could binge watch it) because of her "friend" Kwon Yoon Jin! Can't wait for her downfall. Everyone story is interesting to watch but so I'm happy there are many episodes to go, but really can't wait for KYJ's downfall, I hope it will be very satisfying. Will they give her a backstory I can empathize with? I don't think I can at this point though

If she is so rich and successful, why can't she hire a body guard/s when she has been stalked for 7 years. Why would she wander around at night knowing there's a regular stalker cum assailant looking to harm her. I have such high expectation for this kdrama because of Jang Nara, but the plot is flat & uninteresting. I'll probably stop at ep.2.

Due to her mental illness she forgot all these things. Her step father already knew the truth thats why he never gets upset to HSY.

KYJ is the culprit in all the scary things that happen to Jaewon. KYJ mental illness is more serious than SJW. She was also under treatment thats why she was in the same hospital where SJW was treated.

Duh Jan 16 2024 12:34 am See so many bad things happened to her but state of security, there is no cctv camera outside her house to check who came, her father allows her daughter to go outside in tent without mom's permission, on top of it worst thing is the gate was unlocked that any random clown can walk in, the careless way they had left the girl to play in lawn she could have been kidnapped by anyone. Like jaewon and her father are doing everything to worsen situation, there is no guard outside the house of a woman who was almost murdered twice, ger daughter sits outside like this, forget guard on gate infact without any nanny or adult. The whole scene of b.tch friend doing something to ger daughter was pathetic as it wouldn't be happening in a household like jaewon's. Were writers of the sjow too drunk to write better scenarios.

This drama is just trying like tonnes of previous makjang style cheating dramas like sky castle, world of married, love ft divorce, etc etc, since wom and sky castle became a hit every channel came up with easy formula of copying cheating trope to gain ratings. But atleast some shows try better writing, no wonder why ratings are so low when such shows always earn high ratings.

Her husband quickly accepting cheating and some of his reactions made it look like he us hiding something. Yes why he recorded video and who sent him email of same video and he left laptop open for anyobe to check. Something is very much off here.

It could be that yoon jin was already dating jaewon's husband who married jaewon for money, then she got pregnant at same time as jae won, her dad didn't want her to have a child and jaewon prolly lost her baby at time of her birth because they had shown her birth scene which must have significance, so maybe yoon jin's dad or jaewon's husband took away yoon jin's daughter and showed her as jaewon's baby and yoon jin was told she lost her baby. Later he was killed or went in hiding or something happened and the guy who is the husband now is twin brother who knows stuff and dunno if he is well intentioned or ill.

Is the stalker someone they know from highschool or perhaps college or is it one of the character that's already introduced. How come the husband's questioning his mistress who is Baek Seung Kyu, isn't he the one who called him, Teo found out about that already previously. it couldn't be the twin or is the death fake? Well, we'll probably know once BSK wakes up and why are they hiding the cctv back at the police, who's behind that, who pushed him, the stalker?

Right now, instead of just enjoying the story, I feel like I'm thinking how the writer tries to confuse with the twist and turns, I hope it wouldn't be unsatisfying at the end once the story aligns because of too many twists & turns and scenes that makes you speculate something but turned out differently, or the scene was just for speculation but really not that big of a deal

Like she gets attacked, she has no security or cameras installed inside company, then after attack.she stops investigation when that man had tried to kill her, what rich person does this? To avoid press stop investigation against their attackers, then she was thrown in riiver and still she is doing nothing about security. Jang Nara's character is a perfect portrayal of the extreme side of bipolar disorder (she's on the extreme spectrum). the comments you are stating about what she should be logically doing, does not apply to people suffering from mental illness. it's so clear in her character that she is scared, lost, and hallucinating most of the time, and on top of that she is afraid of the media. Yes, she is rich, but 1 small mistake and she can be easily fired from the company.

Clearly Jan 08 2024 10:36 am Drama is extremely poorly writren with such huge plotholes. Like others mentioned, she is very rich but she can't hire a body guard or security after attack, she is ready to give huge sum to that investigator but cant get security, she is afraid of rumors which is lame. She was attacked, she was sent a scary message while on road and was chased by a car, she runs ro police, yes she didn't stay with police because he is watching her company video and she doesn't want to be identified again for lame reasons but then she runs straight to an empty bridge instead of telling police or going to crowded places, infact she shouldn't have been on street in first place, she is stalked she knows and she is going out on streets to cry and do cathatrsis.

Then she suspects her dad yet she goes to see him alone. Then again faces accident yet she is again out and roaming openly without security. Like there is zero sense of security. The camera she installed in hiding was clearly a dumb thing, do it openly so everyone knows they are monitored, which she did eventually.

She sees her best friend with her daughter and husband, go straight to them and talk to them instead of running away.

Like everything her character does is bizarre and against logic, with so much money why won't she increase her security, not go out alone, have cameras inside home and office, increase overall security, not go to distant areas alone. One bad thing happens and she lets another bad one happen due to her dumbness.

This is poor writing, nothing else. Then when her husband arrives at work with video of her daughter playing at home, it clearly shows her husband is tampering, he records stuff and uses it this way. Either this or he has multiple personality disorder.

One character don't get at all is that best friend. She is from super rich family and talented, why she is obsessed with jaewon and her daughter. She always has one weird miserable and vengeful expression and reaction to everything jaewon says. Dunno for yoon jin it is the acting or the character or both that are torturous.

Why jaewon doesn't go and have a straight forward talk with friend, why not fire her. Hire a detective to stalk your husband and find out his activities.

Sorry but so mamy kdramas have done infidelity and makjang storyline way better than this show, it is a typical cheating makjang thriller story that many channels have been doing to get ratings abd make money, but Sorry this show's plotholes are too dumb and huge to take it seriously. Like even past makjang shows did things better.

Jaewon is always walking out of office bldg and falling here and there, she is always out of breath and exhausted, always doing something with fingers which triggers anxiety in viewer. Now jang nara's acting, why she is always trembling, even in normal scenes when she is talkng to friend her head would be trembling, voice would be trembling, like her character is written to be panicking but jang na ra takes panicking to another high level, like calm down and stop shaking your head so much.

Honestly plotholes, mainly jang na ra's acting and constant panicking reactions even when it doesn't need panicking are triggering anxiety in viewers.

Everyone keeps saying why she doesn't confront her husband and put end of this torture. But did you realize, once you confront everything, Ah rin happiness can be shattered further more in all Ah rin drawing's seo jae won doesn't appear at all, just her dad and grandpa.

What I am curious is.......

1. Dereve company is actually belong to Yoon Jin family, but the one appointed as CEO is seo jae won, which is her daughter's bestfriend, although how talented you are, no parents would like to see their children not same level as their friends. In my opinion, this is the reason why seo jae won doesn't want to be appear weak and imperfect cause matter of time, her position can be gone anytime, that explain why she is so eager commit to success.

2. I don't think her twin husband died, in epi 2, let say the one the put documents in study room is her husband, why he had to waited for nanny to go out first instead of coming in as usually, greet the neighbors as he usually does. The point is the person that put documents is definitely his other twin but we do not know whether heo soon Yoon or heo chi Yoon. I think he want to hint clue to seo jae won indirectly instead of blindly believes her husband. The problem is who is seo jae won married and loves.........

3. I think Yoon Jin know jae won had bipolar disorder as early of their meetings.it is necessary for Yoon Jin to plots something with jae won husband against jae won instead of she can play card of jae won mental health

I would appreciate a much better introduction to each character in the drama but it seems too rushed.
