Kang Tae-Joo (Park Hae-Soo) is a detective with tenacious observational skills and keen intuition. He gets demoted from Seoul back to his hometown of Gangseong. He decides to look into a serial murder case that took place in Gangseong as a way to restore his honor. While pursuing the culprit in the serial murder case, he encounters Prosecutor Cha Si-Young (Lee Hee-Jun). Kang Tae-Joo absolutely hates Cha Si-Young, who bullied him during his school days, but, to catch the serial killer, he teams up with him. Meanwhile, Cha Si-Young is an elite prosecutor with cool-headed judgement and interest in politics. He leads the investigation of the serial murder case and hopes to use the case as a stepping stone to enter politics. To realize his ambitions, he joins hands with Kang Tae-Joo.

Hmm May 31 2026 3:30 pm If this is a talent show , I doubt there will be a winner here. Everyone nailed their characters, no in fact they lived a fictional story. Would you enjoy the story ? Nah but this is not about justice but throwing light on how things happened or likely happened when people with varied traits are living together. But if you want to watch lee hee jun , then you ought to stop by.

Dongdong May 31 2026 2:29 am The actor who plays Cha Si Young seems to really like character Joo Dan Tae (Uhm Ki Joon) from The Penthouse, even his walk, fashion style, way of talking, way of laughing, hair, glasses, everything is similar to Joo Dan Tae. I really can't help but comment, but this is really too much. Even though I know actor Lee Hee Joon is quite good at acting, but this is really plagiarizing the character of Joo Dan Tae.

We waited 12 episodes for that? Lol. And none of those damn police officers even faced consequences until the very end.

yoonseri May 28 2026 5:41 am at first it was good but the producer, scriptwriter and director must writing the plot while high in drugs. they kept introducing unnecessary twist into it that the whole drama feel frustrated to watch. it also becoming unwatchful with all this twist.

Considering that this true story cannot be taken lightly, this drama is quite impressive in showing how past events cannot be resolved not only because of the crimes of the perpetrators, but also because the people above cover up the cases for their own personal interests. However, interestingly, it does not bring a story that is completely identical here. The writer boldly presents a fictional story that does not obscure the real story, and in my opinion, it is presented quite successfully, keeping the audience focused on the case while also being moved by the stories of the people in the village, whose tragedy lies in actual events.

Kudos to the actors actresses, director and writer, and all the crew and people who involved in this drama!

AMAN May 26 2026 2:18 pm After watching Ep.11 i have just one thought in mind "Sometimes the world is so unfair to some people specially to those who are innocent & never done any harm to others". So many powerful & emotional scenes in Ep.11...it was really heartbreaking to see Im Seok-Man crying like that... just imagine serving sentence for long 30 years despite being innocent & even after the release, living with a ankle monitor, no family & friends, enduring people's taunts like that...Poor Hye-Jin & her family's suffering also I'm so disappointed to see two people what they have become now Kang Sun-Young & Park Dae-Ho. specially Kang Sun-Young how could she do that to Kang Tae-Joo who raised her since she was a child, cared for her, he even begged on his knees to save her life in front of Cha Mu-Jin & ultimately he was forced to leave the town & Sun-Young as well with the promise of not returning ever...just like Im Seok-Man he also lost everything.... it was really a heartbreaking episode but hope the final episode worth it & all those culprits get their punishments....

And the fact that he keeps getting away with everything makes my blood boil. This is this last episode and if he doesn't pay for all his crimes, then I can't say the series ended well for me. He's committed so much atrocities. I just want him to pay.

Sun-young is just as bad, how can she do that to Tae-joo, her real brother and one person who cared about her when she was a baby. And seeing Si-young being an uncle/father to Ki-beom boils my blood; that should have been either Ki-beom or Tae-joo raising him. The last episode better be worth it.

Scarecrow fans May 25 2026 1:39 pm For 10 episodes, I thought Prosecutor Cha was the one character I could never forgive. As much as Sunyoung annoyed me, I kept trying to understand her and make excuses for her behavior. But episode 11 changed everything. It was the final straw. I've completely lost my patience with her. Her actions were so selfish and infuriating that all my sympathy disappeared. Right now, I honestly feel like she deserves whatever consequences come her way.

AMAN May 19 2026 3:04 pm That line from the Lawyer in EP. 10 is very true btw "Even if a hundred criminals go free, we must not wrongfully convict a single innocent person" but unfortunately they couldn't save Im Seok-Man from going jail...i think along with the victims, he & Lee Gi-Beom suffered most in this drama after being wrongfully accused. Poor Im Seok-Man. his life was already hard enough with that disability but whatever little he had, he lost all. Not only he got life sentence for the crime he didn't even commit even his parents turned their back on him when he needed them the most & most of all listening to all those hurtful things about his disability from his own sister...that's really sad. he couldn't even revel his alibi because of his sister, thinking it could hurt her married life... it was really heartbreaking.

Happy98 May 10 2026 7:01 am From all witnesses statement, he was medium high, slightly skinny, and has a soft hand, his conversation with TaeJu seemed very “strangers” vibe so I cannot say he was one of his friends. “Jo YoonSeok” the scientist, he is suspicious. His statement about ‘labor job’ so the murder has 180 degrees physical appearance with the witnesses statement. This is a real story in the past and the predators just captured not so long ago. So idk if the end of this drama will show the murder or not. In Kdrama signal, they kinda make up the story, because it was still a cold case at that time.

Lane May 08 2026 9:00 pm So they wait until episode 6 to give us a glipse of the real killer! I hate that, because when you watch all 5 of them you are trying to figure out who did it. The guy lied on his application and said he was type 0 blood when he's B. Instead of him actually getting a blood sample to find out, he just says O. He had a limp, and sweats a lot. What I don't understand is this kind of work, you'd have rough hands even if you wear those gloves. He must have some kind of skin disorder and that's why his hands are so nice, and perspires so much! So he works at illwon industries. Lee Jeung Soo, and he was so calm and nonchalant. What a royal screw up this was, but if we all now know who did this, then what will the next 6 episodes be like? Watching them all die by either the cops, prison, self exit, or by this serial killer, and I just have a feeling the reporter is going to die! It would be better if the man in prison said, I killed these ones, but someone else did the others and he's a copy cat. I really like this show, and don't want the suspense to end.

Then I thought, it must be his brother, because Min Ji last location was when she was with the two of them. But then they showed his blood type is AB, instead of B. Now I believe it's his friend, Seok Man. But I'm not sure anymore.

I don't think it's the police. This is based on Hwaseong real murder case and culprit are not police, it's criminal who is already been arrested at some point. And they also show this early in this episode!
