Lee Hong-Jo (Cho Bo-Ah) is the lowest grade (level 9) civil servant. She always does her best at work, even though she suffers from many civil complaints. In her personal life, she is used to being alone. One day, she happens to become the owner of an old wooden chest and the key to lift a curse from Jang Shin-Yu (Ro Woon).

Jang Shin-Yu is a competent lawyer who is smart and good-looking. He is usually in the spotlight wherever he goes, but he suffers from an unexplained disease. His condition gets progressively worse. He is desperate to life the curse that has run through his family for generations. Jang Shin-Yu seeks help from Lee Hong-Jo, who owns the old wooden chest.

shironzu Jul 16 2025 1:05 pm I just watched this drama and I don't understand the hate that some of the comments are saying. Maybe because they didn't intend to enjoy the drama/ story but rather a specific person only? or Maybe its not just their cup of tea / or maybe they didnt finished the drama before writing the comment?

Anyways, I would like to congratulate the casts since they piqued my interest into watch the whole drama mainly the main leads as they did a great job in portraying their roles. There can be some improvements from the writing and the pacing but overall the drama is great.

Maleinad Feb 27 2025 2:05 am The contrast in comments is understandable. The drama is not a disaster, but it is not amazing either. The poor script writing and directing couldn’t be saved even with the phenomenal acting of Rowoon. He carried this whole series, fabulous performance throughout the drama, with absolutely no help from the rest of the characters (not even the female lead which in addition she is also a sad miscast for him). They were poorly written and the discrepancy was evident. The rest of the actors did a pretty good job too, but the directing pushed them to over-act in most scenes, which as a consequence they became cringe worthy.

The slow pace of the plots, the inconsistencies in the stories interrupting constantly the flow and the intensity of the narrative made this drama an average watch.

Too bad, Rowoon deserves better!

Chaeri Sep 30 2024 2:30 am This drama is so frustrating. The lead actors doesn’t have chemistry. I wanted her to be with the 2nd male lead tbh. The lead actress is such a push over and her co-workers irritate me.

Spoiler alert: What pissed me off was the stalker part. She knows she has a stalker, they went to the guy’s apartment and she was alone while her bf went outside. Someone rings the bell but cannot be seen on the monitor, she looks at the door hole and sees no one, and then she opens the door?!?! Wtf?? Girl that’s obviously the stalker!!!!

When the guy saw the stalkers car in the parking, he calls the stalker instead of immediately running to or informing the girl ??‍♀️ boy he’s a stalker he doesn’t care he’s been seen on the cameras. Omg it’s so frustrating!

The writers did a beautiful job ,the storyline is good well put together and well develloped The way the characters devellop a genuine relationship and emotion,chemistry is soo beautiful that it make you truly want to watch them. The happy ending is so satisfying I loved it.

kdrama lover Aug 16 2024 4:17 am it was interesting for the first few episodes but eventually it got boring. Too many unnecessary scenes, and I agree the plot just circling around at first. Also not sure if Jae Gyeong's family issue is necessary for the story. However, it got more interesting from episode 13. I can't say this is one of the best drama, but I enjoyed it.

Fullheart5 Jul 12 2024 12:33 pm I often find comments so deceptive and prejudicial that unless they are 100% against a drama, not worth a fig. Have been watching Kdramas long before they have become popular worldwide. Loved Secret Garden, Goblin, Healer………watch them over and over when I need a lift. This particular drama is added to my favorites and have actually watched it five times already. Yes it may be hard to choose between the two male leads, but as much as I enjoy Ha-Joon and hope he keeps getting better and better roles, I think Ro Woon brings his character so alive that it makes him the better choice.

The storyline does not drag, there is a story to tell between the two leads and it plays out so well and his Parents story is just as fascinating. Their relationship is so unique and different than other dramas. They both did a great job.

They all, I mean all, did a wonderful job.

Like Memories of Bali even it's not happy ending I appreciate the cast and the flow of the story they are good actor and actress until now.

It was a good refreshing story and the chemistry between the Jang sin yu and hong Jo is off the charts! Sizzling ? ? . Definitely my favorite drama of all time . This is like my 3rd time rewatching! If you want a slow burn romance with a satisfying ending then this drama is for you . Amazing acting

I'm also captivated in the beginning when Sin Yu is chasing Hong Jo because of the love spell, not until they romanticized Sin Yu cheating and Hong Jo being a relationship wrecker, like come on people it's so wrong, Sin Yu and Na Yeon are dating for 2 years, if Na Yeon is a cheater why would they make Sin Yu a cheater too. This drama is only a shadow role of Jo Bo Ah from Tale Of The Nine Tailed. Jae Gyeong is definitely the better choice. Their past life also lack some twist.

DramaGirl May 26 2024 9:12 pm The beginning of the drama really captivated me. The chemistry between the stars and all of that was so good. I love a good drama of enemies to lovers. But honestly the drama started spinning in circles after a while. There was no true development and time being wasted which made it hard to continue watching as it got boring, but I'm gonna push through. Like the plot started lacking especially when it became Shinyu playing with Hong-jo's feelings. It became pointless because every episode started becoming I want you but I'm still trying to figure things out. Then she was being annoying with all the indecisiveness. Like I'ma need to find a drama that keeps the spark the whole way through which is becoming hard these days

Afolabi Tomisin Mercy Jan 30 2024 3:56 pm This drama is so amazing…I love every one from the writer to the director ,the ost ,the main cast and even the supporting characters …however my favorite is still the protagonist;Rowoon.To be honest he did a fantastic job…of course he has always put all his effort in his roles but especially in this work:destined with you.I’m a fan even before watching this drama..but now ,there is no doubt I develop more interest in him now…as for Jo Bo ah…I’m not really that in to her..but she nailed it in this drama…she was so cute and lovable.The love and affection that rowoon and Bo ah depicts was so strong,deep and pure even with the few kissing scenes.The other character that are so cruel also received their punishment…I love the fact that everybody receives exactly what they deserve…well…big congratulations to all the crew of destined with you…everyone play their part efficiently ?….however my biggest congratulations is to Rowon whose character moved me so much:I cried and laughed I hope to see more of your projects?

I am not a fan of Jo Boah and Ro Woon's acting, and besides, their characters were written poorly. However, I'm quite impressed of the plot. I rate it 6.5/10

Jjajamyeong Nov 29 2023 1:32 pm First of all @cheesey who complained about the red hand (lol I think that was her/him/they/it’s user name) it’s obviously related to trauma or whatever because you learn that the red hand was a hallucination as a result from his previous life when he killed the one he loved (i.e. Hong Jo). It first disappeared because she was back in his life and then suddenly reappeared because he felt guilty for murdering her in his past life. Later in the episodes, you see him in his past life stabbing her with a knife and then her bloody hand caressing his cheek like his hallucinations (i.e. the red hand) This tells you the red hand was hers as a result of him… guilty hallucinations. You should pay attention to what you’re watching before you make comments… To everyone else, if you pay attention, it’s quite cheesy but enjoyable. Judge for yourself based on your interest in fantasy stories. If you’re paying attention the story totally makes sense and quite enjoyable.

But after that, everything fell apart. It was a struggle to push through. I love rowoon and jo boah,but why is boah's character written so poorly. Also,the colleagues?why were they acting like they owned jaekyung or sinyu? The past story was good,the red hand too,but why did the red hand just completely disappear after the first 2 episodes then came back ages later? The writing was done really poorly. Also,why were wook and sinyu's mom given so much screentime and chemistry for nothing?? The ending was okay,but the stalker storyline was stretched for far too long. I thought maybe it's just me who thinks like this because before watching this i finished twinkling watermelon and my perfect stranger,but no,this was just not up to the bar.

Win Nov 13 2023 8:18 am Just tried to watched this in Netflix. We have different taste in kdrama but I agree with some reviews here. I only watched til episode 6 I think. This is not for me. There are may parts that are boring to me and the plot is confusing. Also sorry but I dont feel any chemistry in them. I feel bad for the FL she looks stressed with those big eye bags and she looks haggard pale or tired . Hope shes okay though.

The ML and FL were great, their chemistry was really good maybe they be comfortable each others that's why created good chemistry. I like fantasy drama and this drama is make sense in my mind. Anything in this drama was good and great. I really recommendation to watch this drama in 2023. Hope this drama will be won in every nomination especially best couple in 2023. Hope PD-Nim can make Rowoon and Jo Boah in another project together, maybe thriller ?. Thank you for creating good drama PD-nim, writer and all cast ♥️?

Shoshie Nov 02 2023 5:52 am Just finished bingeing this drama. I would say it is an enjoyable watch, but not the drama that captivates me so intensely. It is the drama I watch in between shows or while I wait for a new episode of another show. It didn't really leave me yearning for more of the show or feeling sad that it ended, but I was satisfied with what I watched and want to see the cast in more things! I think the acting is very good. Rowoon and Boah are so endearing and make the most of the script. I think the cast in general is just very good, a lot of familiar faces that I was happy to see! Also they're so attractive lol ? However, I think the script and plot pacing could have been better :( I think the concept is excellent, very compelling, but it lacked depth and was a little repetitive. I felt that they lingered on certain moments way too much, when they could have focused adding more details and nuance to other parts of the story. I loved the historical fantasy aspect, and i really wish they made it more complex so that things felt more passionate and more tied to that lore. I feel like a certain standard has been set for historical fantasy kdramas, so its weird to not have all of the details and wonder i have grown accustomed to. And, in present day, they had the characters repeat certain behaviors when logically they would have moved forward. At one point it was very difficult to like the main characters because they seemed carelessly adulterous. Eventually they became redeemable but I could see someone quitting the show because there wasn't much development or improvement. The ending, though, was super satisfying with excellent revenge moments. There were some very hateable characters that got their bad endings, and some very loveable characters that got their haply endings. And some of these endings were unexpected which made them more fun! I think by the end of the show, I did see some very solid character development, none of the characters were even close to where they started in the story. So, i would say, this show isn't going to be the most passionate tearjerker with complex details, but it is a gratifying show with many ups and downs. I think you could honestly skip though some parts of the middle and find it more enjoyable, passionate, and organic. Once again, I loved the cast, Rowoon always puts so much into his characters and I look forward to seeing him in more dramas. Really, any excuse to see him in historical clothing is great. Boah is so cute and sweet with such an expressive and soulful face. And a personal favorite of mine was Lee Bong Ryun, who I always enjoy in every drama she's been in recently!

Yes, it was overrated, but the connection between Jo Boah and Rowoon was what made this drama worthwhile. Moreover, their acting was excellent and character were justified.

Haven't moved on from Boah and Rowoon's love team yet. More projects for the both of them plsssssssss

And the OST is wonderful, reminding me of Kdramas from the 2010s. I wish it could be the next story in this drama. I watched it three times and I still miss it!

I don’t usually get this far through such corny dramas, but just appreciating Ro woon’s face, hair & ,as SYR said, Rowoon in suits, I actually stuck with it, though I’ve never fast forwarded so much before. I have 38 min. to go…I can do it! Fighting! Anyhow, I can’t think of any actor who didn’t do well, it’s just the story & possibly directing that disappointed. Rowoon has been in some much better dramas, maybe he needs to be more discriminating in the parts he accepts.

I do like the historical back story though, It was brilliantly acted and the past life's story just seem much more interesting to me. Kinda wish it was a sageuk instead. But that would mean not being able to see Rowoon in his suits and that would be a waste because his styling here is *chef's kiss*.

What I wanted to write was, "for every good bit of writing, there was something stupid written to counter it." But in the end, there was just too much stupid stuff omg. I can't stand a good story having terrible writers. And it's Criminal how yall made Jo Bo Ah act.

Even so, as bad kdramas go, it was at least a step in the right direction of reducing cringe moments. Yes she was doe-eyed for more scenes than I wanted, but Bo Ah managed to make it look adorable instead of robotic. Far too many interrupted kisses, but at least they got to act like a real couple.

One trope I wish would get buried into the pits of the sea is that 30 year old woman or man Never had any type of skinship with a person before meeting their one true love of the show.

Final review, I won't watch again, but I'd recommend as a filler show that you can enjoy the first few eps wholly and then ff liberally to get thru to the last 3 eps.

This drama is so unique. It'll forever stay close to my heart, especially the main lead characters. Not a single boring moment in this, not one. All the cast members were so good and bringing to life this complicated story/concept with the acting, direction and cinematography in such an exciting way it takes some talent, man. The director did a fantastic job, even making the scenes shot in the same place feel new and exciting and beautiful somehow. Of course my favorite is Rowoon, not only is he handsome, but because he is a great actor too, and that man can sing!!! He did such justice to Jang Shin-yu, that I can't imagine anyone else ever playing that role

Jo Bo-ah is a gem of a character. She is wonderful and blends so well with Rowoon, great chemistry. And even the other cast, I loved every single one of them. They were so funny. This drama not only does the cliched drama plotline, but makes fun of it and it's such a joy to watch. I loved this show, with all of my heart.

Also one of the few dramas that do justice to their ending. The ending was absolutely perfect. This drama is a gift for someone who likes romance but also expects a great storyline and acting and writing to go with it. Without the unnecessary melodrama, and especially if there's a rift, for it to make sense without the excuse of miscommunication.

Other dramas she looks quite cute. Male lead always looked super attractive. The female second lead was very pretty but a monster.

Story could have been written tighter. Maybe it was more a disconnect of the director. Just finished episode 10. Would probably drop but i do like Rowoon and second male lead.

It's very different from the chemistry between Jo boah and Lee dong wook in the nine tailed. The audience can feel the romance tense.

And sorry to say, Jo Boah looks less elegant with a haircut like that :( she has a beautiful long hair before.

garden man arc should be stopped at ep 14, it just dragged too long. At last, this is quite good and memorable drama :)

I think the writing is a bit messy. When it comes to romcom, though visuals do matter, the connection and the tense feeling of acting must be there. In this case, I think the female lead just over act everything. She always have an over acting which is very obvious nd The acting of rowoon is just bland. Nothing special with the plot though. Didnt finish this as this is not my type of kdrama.

Dario Gagetti Oct 12 2023 2:56 pm Yes, the expectations for this TV-series were very high. As with this title and with actors like Rowoon, Jo Bo Ah and Lee Bong Yun they are justified. I must admit, that the plot and the director Nam Ki Hoon failed to fulfill this expectations. In particular it lacks mysticism of which we would have liked to see more. Also the Flash-Backs between past and present did not succeed well. Maybe more frequently and less minutes would have been better. Finally, too many repeated scenes and some unnecessary scenes. Especially this incomprehensible obsession with deceiving the audience with wrong predictions and this nastiness toward the character Lee Hong Jo , who was not allowed a single episode of peace. Always problems upon problems until the end. The best in this TV series was the Soundtrack! Fantastic with Cheeze, Jaeman, Jeong Hyo Bean, Ju Ne and Lyn. Very good and always a guarantee Rowoon. The big surprise though is Jo Bo Ah who proved to be much better than some useless criticism read before the TV-series. The ending was not a foregone conclusion, as the character Lee Hong Jo showed so much ambiguity and insecurity until the end and always left a door open for doubts and solutions other than what the TV-series title says. Therefore, while we have always strongly criticized screenwriters and directors when they do not give us a happy ending, especially for ridiculous, incomprehensible reasons that only they know, in this case I would like to thank director Nam Ki Hoon for giving us this happy end. A pity that the series is already over, as we liked it so much and we would have gladly seen many more episodes. Kind regards from Italy

I developed a deep affection for every character, with a special appreciation for Park Gyeong-hye's portrayal of Son Sae-Byol. Furthermore, I couldn't help but feel a wave of nostalgia when I recognized Jo Bo-Ah as the female lead, as 'The Idle Mermaid' was the very first K-drama I ever watched. I also couldn't help but notice that some people have criticized the lead actors, but I wholeheartedly disagree with those opinions. In my view, the lead actors did an outstanding job in portraying their characters and showcased remarkable chemistry on screen. I also found myself wishing that this drama was longer, (the ending was a little rushed?) nevertheless, I would definitely re-watch this drama!<3

Frankly the only time I felt excited was when Hong jo was poisoned in the woods. I thought, is this finally the end of her helplessness and infuriating attempt at displaying ae gyo?? But she was safe. Haum daepyo was more exciting to watch despite v few scenes. He was a scene stealer fr. The thing is, I waited for this drama only to be let down. Glad it’s over

(Ep15) The bodyguards keep appearing/disappearing, they actually went with the men’s dress shirt trope, to the fake office harmony from the girls who treated her horribly before, to another mostly useless showdown between Hong-jo & Na-yeon. The leads are so in love and sappy happy like suddenly fate/destiny isn’t a factor like it’s been for the previous 14 eps. Then it ends with the bodyguards being totally useless and Garden Man at it again.

The concubine use the shaman to make the curse instead of aeng cho. And i think she is cursed due to other spells she used for the concubine. Maybe the forbidden @ evil spell. Now i just wonder who buried the spell books in the chest. In ep 14 the chest has been confiscated by the royal guards. Or maybe jang mu jin buried the original and take the fake one.

Anyway for those who doesn't like the fl, ig u guys just doesn't like her as an actress at the first place and that's why. How could u hate her character? Both past life and present portrays how much she loves shinyu. I dont see any reason to hate her character. Overall, i really enjoy the whole series up to this recent ep. Jo Bo-Ah and Ro Woon are doing an amazing job acting and portraying their characters, they touched my heart so deeply that I cried, jumped with excitement, and got all giddy because of them. For me personally the couple compliments each other so well, they respond and act naturally towards each other, I love the fact that circumstances brought them closer from the beginning and they could act naturally towards each other without having to wear the social mask on. Jang Shin Yu never hated Jo Bo-Ah, due being a lawyer he was being wary, but the openness of the FL, having her conveying her true feelings regarding life daily struggles, and seeing her going through different circumstances he realised, she is just a lonely person that is looking for real human connection without having hidden intentions. I do not mind how the drama is edited with the flashbacks as the director only wants to keep the suspense and tension and I think is doing well. If I would have to complain about something would be Jang Shin Yu mums’ connection with his friend, and the plot with his girlfriend, I am not a fan of that. But overall, I am in love with this drama, the main characters, cinematography of the show are perfection. I truly hope is going to have a happy ending, if so, it will become my favourite drama ever. Rmont Sep 29 2023 12:35 am I liked the first few episodes of this drama… then it went downhill. Somewhere after episode 6 the writer just lost the coherence of the plot. We’re now in ep12 and the reincarnation theory is still slim and largely unexplored. ML and FL keeps getting glimpses of the past but the characters surrounding them are not being utilized well. They abandoned the spell angle but keeps on hinting on it. The 2ML is barely being used—that’s why people can’t relate to the character. The only likable but still static characters are Ms Na and Mr Gong who are just funny and cute. All other characters are either annoying or irrelevant to the plot. Seriously, I feel like the actors are trying their best but the writer is failing everyone. Do better writer님.

First Sinyu hated Hong joo and now he is out of the blue completely in love with her just bcz of their past lives doesn't make any sense. Hong joo was in love with Jaeyoung got rejected but still held onto him and Jaeyoung dagf but now when Jaeyoung is making moves , Hong joo is acting clueless . Hong joo likes both of them , Nayeon is dying to get married to Sinyu but still sleeping with another guy. This whole drama has become a mess and I mean it.

He flirted with somebody else while dating this gf then broke up w her after the fact 4.) but he got engaged to her while continuing to chase and insult hong jo 5.) used the love potion as an excuse to chase hong jo 6.) shifted the blame to hong jo "swaying" him when it was 10000% his doing 7.) letting people think hong jo is a homewrecker always trying to meet w her at work 8.) not telling hong jo about his promise to ex until the mayor got involved and possibly ruining her career

IDC if he's tall, handsome and a sexy lawyer. This man has no integrity.

Is this all supposed to be romantic?? Is this early 2000s?? I know this theme worked circa 2015 and years prior to that but Now? nuh uh.

Also, hong jo -- horrible choice for lead. Did not fit Jo Bo Ah. She's better as a fierce character in her other portrayals. Letting people slap her, insult her, and get dragged around?? if I were her, Mr. Kwon is a better choice. Then again, as annoying as she is, you can have jang sin yu and ruin each other.

He purses his lips all thr time and is very stiff. Dont get me wrong his visuals are great but he always purses his lips which is cringy- tomorrow, kings affection- try watching. He needs to practice acting more natural esp that he is leaving his group to focus on acting. If i were to choose, id go for 2nd male lead and FL, her life would be eay less complicated plus she will be treated well. If you noticed jist how rowoon treats her badly. Just my two cents

Suzanne Sep 18 2023 9:56 am Can anyone tell me why, when I turned on this drama to watch the rest of episode 8, the audio only offers the dubbing in Brazilian & Portuguese, Hindi or Spanish? No original Korean? This has never happened before & the other Korean dramas I checked were either in Korean or at least it offered to switch back to Korean. So I have more than half of episode 8 to go, but I hate the dubbing &, of course, it’s not even the actors’ voices which is too weird to watch & listen to. I’d rather not even see the ending.

kansimadha Sep 17 2023 5:56 pm Male lead is too good. Easy to the eyes and charmer. Good actor too. Tbh, the series is gaining its attention and momentum only because of the male leads. They both are funny and hilarious in many scenes and doing justice to the rom-com genre. I still believe second male lead character is somewhat mysterious and they shown only his fun side to audience till now. Because, there is something shady going on in his character arc as my intuition says after watching tons of k-dramas. Light hearted series for light hearted people. I will not talk about the female lead because i will leave it up to viewers' judgement because she has been getting lot of mixed reactions from audience. i can say one thing, do not have any preconceived notion about the leads and watch the series, you may be honestly liking it.

I find the leads a perfect cast, the chemistry between them is amazing, the acting is top notch, I cried, laughed and got filled with good vibes watching. I know nobody from production gonna see this, but thank you for making this drama, it made my life so much better, and less lonely. Thank you ????

Somehow, I have so many questions for some characters and its situations for examples: - what happened to Shin-Yu's family? what curse did they endure ? the married relationship between Shin-Yu's parents seems so strange... - The lawyer's work aspect of Shin Yu and Haum constructor has also not been well exploited Eps.8 turned out so much better, seems like a start of a new chapter and I looking forward to more to come on the next 8 eps.

But the energy level changed, what with flower guy stalker and cheating fiancee - she is boning Shin-yu's nemesis, right? - and the overall moods of Shin-yu and Hong-jo were glum, baffled or numb through most of the last half. Not even that overdue kiss could revive the atmosphere, and when in heck are they jumping to their past lives in the Joseon era? The writing and direction are letting us down a bit.

I started watching this series because I really liked Rowoon in Tomorrow and he's much more adult and dishy in this, but I'm disappointed that the story seems to have lost its way after such a promising beginning. Even the sillier My Lovely Liar had more engrossing episodes this week. ?

Ol Sep 13 2023 6:59 pm Liking jo bo ah and ha joon, they are cool, ha joon and jo bo ah have chemistry imo, but ep 7 and story feels a bit draggy now, maybe this show was ideal for 10 or 12 episodes that way jokes wouldnt be repeated and there wpuld be quick developments. While watching ep 7 i was constantly thinking it is already feeling slow and reptitive and 9 episodes are elft to air, what will they do in them.

I thought the story would be intriguing because of the red hand and the curse, but those plot lines were completely forgotten and instead it turned into a story of playing with each other’s feeling. I’ve watched 7 episodes and literally nothing has happened..?! The acting is fine I guess, but there is no chemistry since everything is used as an excuse because of the love spell. The kiss was also completely out of nowhere and it felt weird to watch.. Like he’s insulted her so often and then she let him kiss her!?Very frustrating, and will probably not continue watching.

Rowoon is very handsome and his acting has improved a lot. For anyone who is interested, I recommend you try starting out. Ignore the people who criticize you because they are just another viewer with a keyboard. You should decide whether to watch or not after giving it a try. Trust me!!!!

Also the kissing scene part also is not good in the eye.no wonder the rating is low and a lot of negative reviews. And this is in 16 Episode like are you kidding me? But this is not for me. Mystery Writer Sep 07 2023 5:07 pm I don't know about others, but i liked the episodes 5 & 6 very much..i personally felt the plot is intensifying as same as the spell..Rowoon acting is too good and second male lead also performing very well with little screen space to share.

I also liked this series with various side stories of rom-com between the two workers in city hall green building. I.e.Hong Jo's boss and the other woman who recently got divorced. Also, another rom-com side story of male lead's father and mother like tom & jerry..it was super funny.

Hope they go with the same fun side and mystery side and not do any blunders in the upcoming episodes. Loving it already and can't wait for next week.

Poor girl whith her immense patience, goodness and kindness. Jang Shin Yu evidently has stiil to understand what he wants to do when he grows up. Let's hope that in the next episodes there will be some clarity and we will move forward, because too many episodes with the status quo are annoying dear director Nam Ki Hoon. Behaving like a little school girl towards your crush as a working woman destroys the romance that the scenes would have presented. I don't like the idea that ML falls in love with FL because of the spell. I hope he discovers that it's not because of the spell and that the feelings are not because of their past lives. I would rather they like each other for their character and values, which of course in non-existent in this show so far.

But on netflix i have learnt this show i ranking quite high and is an international hit, which means that intl audiences never get tired romcom fantasy shows. This is also in contrast with military doberman ratings ,that show was a rating hit in korea but intl fans didnt give it much attention. Its so strange.

Not a fan of either of the leads of the show but in this show both jobo ah and rowoon are still doing better. The 2nd ep dance was actually quite fun scene. I liked they added it frankly and she pulled it off well.

Though the female lead is trying her best to be funny but it comes too forced specially to act like cute since she looks a lil bit matured compared to rowoon. The dance scene in ep2 gave me second-hand embarrassment. Did you really have to do it? That was utterly unnecessary. Time to stop filming and portraying such passé scenes and ideas.

Every dialogue of ep 4 was like iconic or crazy good. Do you think i am holding your hand on purpose, yes i did it on purpose. Don't come in my dreams, no please do come so i can see more of you, every line was unique. The golden sunset ending gave a feeling something sad might happen to the couple.

Shin yu is so shameless and brazen in approaching her and confessing love lmao, the guy seems to have real feelings and is using spell as an excuse to be so brazen.

2ml deserves more screentime and scenes with hongjo.

Both leads are doing their part exceptionally well and also second male lead is good. I am waiting eagerly for third episode because looks like male lead started feeling affection towards female lead.

I think the shaman who left the book in the wooden box is ancestor of female lead and the female lead might be the incarnation of the shaman who is her ancestor. the curse is given by shaman to the male lead family because may be one of their ancestors killed her for loving the man from their noble family. Not very sure but guessing this might be the story that unfolds.

I’m gonna continue watching because I like the plot and also for Ha Joon. I just hope I’ll see character improvement sooner than later because as much as I love Ha Joon, I’d rather watch other dramas that don’t give me too much stress. No matter how good the plot is, if almost all the characters are bullies, I’m gonna drop it.

M Aug 25 2023 4:32 am Some bickering was very funny, but it got ruined by shin yu firstly being so illmannered to eavesdrop on two girls conversation then without knowing the real story started blaming her and saying super rude stuff for not accepting apologies, then he just heard his friend's story in car and believe it as it is, it wasnever his business how hong jo solves her issue or not and on top it he was so cheap that he used that thing with his friend to tease her over coworkers problem, and it felt even bad when hong jo got affected by his words that dhe straight up approached her rude coworkers to eat with them when she didnt need to and then she got insulted by her rude female coworker, ofcourse hong jo is a lame person who wants to keep hanging out with her coworkers who are actually bad and rude people. But really dont understand how shin yu can mitreat someone who he asked a favor from and he keeps mistreating her like all the time, his later convos with her were very offputting, he wasnt even giving her advice which he didnt need to, he was straight up authoritatively mistreating her and interfering in her life.

I came for Ro woon and am still somewhat interested in the story… but this is such a weird plot so far with the hands and whatnot. And why doesn’t anyone like Hong Jo? Doesn’t seem very believable. I hope it improves and doesn’t get too dark! I think I’ll give it 1 more episode.

PD nim made her cry in first eps, but will make her smile in next eps, trust me ok! Since she has a nice smile, she needs smile more and keep her eyes smile too, not open wide!

Pole Aug 24 2023 9:53 am Hong jo is not a rookie, she has been working for many years as civil servant and she has worked with her current boss in past and she had made a complaint against him which is why he holds a grudge, and she knew he will treat her poorly but she is crying and saying she is lonely as noone eats with her and this is why she wants the shrine to be demolished so she can eat with them.

And what fun they were having? Her 50 something boss was literally burping in the faces of 2 junior female emplpyees.

Isnt hong jo in her 30s or a full grown up woman? So why is she so sad and crying over her colleagues not taking her to dinner and lunches also that her colleagues are such horrible people. Like she should be happy to be alone.

Curious what is the curse on shin yu and what is the fantasy part all about, it is giving 9 tailed gumiho feel dunno why. Is jae gyeong related tp shinyu by blood or something, what if he is the villain here, hope not.

Shya Aug 22 2023 4:29 pm Rooting for another successful drama from ever gorgeous Jo bo ah. I am watching all her dramas right from "The Idle mermaid". She is one of those rare actress whose charisma keeps increasing year by year. I would say she ages like fine wine. I personally liked all her roles in the dramas irrespective of storyline. Hope she pulls off her two set of complicated roles in this drama. I mean the girl who lived before 300 years ago dynasty and the one from current age. Hope this drama let her shine even more and be the another feather in her cap.
