Sanity Jul 02 2024 9:39 am This story is dark and shocking. It will likely trigger some people. However, it displays phenomenal storytelling. To me it’s similar to “Strangers from Hell” in that you see the main character Hyo-Joo breaking down mentally despite being surrounded by people who are supposed to be “helpful” and “friends.” The breakdown is severe and leads to violence. It starts out with subtle disrespect and then larger aggressions. Also, the caste system plays out here as well. Rich well-off people having a complete disregard for working class or “struggling” people.

Stephanie May 11 2023 8:05 am The main characters in the movie are effective and impressive. Lee Won-Gun was able to emulate a lost talented, lonely young man who got easily swayed by his real lover (Yu In-Young). Was surprised with some exposure during their love scene too.

I like the fact that it’s not all about sex/affair, thus about manipulation, power, self-worth (or lack of), misconstrued concern/actions, struggles of broken poor families, opportunities for low income families and revenge. I felt the pain that Kim Ha-Neul when she realized that she got played by her so called lover and sorta arch-nemesis. Her fearless calculated revenge was psycho!!

The affair is not the main point of the movie and it does not romanticize the affair. It's actually not bad consider the acting. You will notice certain messages that the movie wants to deliver.
