Eun-Ho (Kim Hye-Yoon) is a gumiho, known in folklore as a mythical creature with 9 tails. She is different from other gumihos. She doesn't want to become a human unlike other gumbos. She enjoys her eternal youth that never changes. She picks out the fun parts in the human world and enjoys them herself. To avoid becoming a human, she refrains from small virtues and accumulating small bad deeds. One day, an unexpected incident takes place.

Kang Shi-Yeol (Lomon) is a world-class soccer player. He is the top striker for a famous soccer club overseas. As a soccer player, he accomplished many firsts and he shines brighter than the club itself. He is also the king of narcissism. His life is perfect, but, one day, Eun-Ho appears in front him. His life suddenly changes.

Kyle Jun 02 2026 6:16 am In episode 1 where the coach is beating a student with a stick, if that was my child, that coach would never go home again. Is this sick behaviour accepted in South Korea??

Nik May 30 2026 7:57 am Big surprise to me was that this drama is not as good as I thought. The idea behind and the theme is kinda nice.

I did not get "warm" with Kim Hye-Yoon or her role as Eun-ho. Nearly during all of the episodes I was wishing for the real Lee Yeon to appear and kick her annoying butt :) Eun-ho was like a big bird that was clucking like a hen all the time.

The writing is the next thing that was lacking in this drama. So many holes in it and logic errors. One example, it's not really a spoiler I think: the scenes with the kindergarten that caught fire: did it burn or was it an earthquake? Why is the ceiling and other parts crashing when there aren't that many flames? Why are they dirty with soot/ash when there's not really fire? And why are most kids and teachers outside but some kids left in room, when there was no real fire or smoke? Crazy scene, really. It feels like it was some test project of an art school. 2 eps were kinda alright, in my opinion.

Lomon was doing a nice job, also the other actors were good, and it's a shame that Jang Dong-Joo decided to stop acting after this and has all these troubles in his life :(

It was not a waste of time for me, but pretty close to that.

Moonmoon Apr 23 2026 1:33 pm This drama focused too much on the sweet scenes between Lomon and Kim Hye Yoon. That the actual story felt rushed, especially during the final scenes when the bad guys are doing their revenge. There are a lot of plot holes, what happened to Kang Si-yeol’s friends during the fate switch? How about the love story of the 8th tailed fox and the other guy? It’s as if they forgot those plots after they switched back. Tooooooo many sweet scenes between the FL and ML that being a gumiho is just a design rather than the story. 4/10 for me.

I dont really like how the story goes and the plots. Though i watch it till the final episode but not gonna lie, this is below my expectation.

Ddeonu Mar 03 2026 5:35 am Hmm, how should I explain this? Actually, the plot of this drama is not bad. For me, this drama is just so-so. I also lack the chemistry between Hyeyoon and Lomon. Especially in episode 15, which is about the shaman who wants to take the fox bead. For me, it was too fast. It didn't beat around the bush, it was straight to the point :D Sorry, I don't mean to be offensive. Everyone has different views. Some people find this drama suitable. Some don't. And sorry, I don't really like it. I only watched it once. I won't watch it again. Rate 7.5/10

Andrea Mar 02 2026 10:34 pm I'm a fan of lovely runner, but this drama is also good, which clearly can't be compared to the previous drama because it's a different genre. After finishing it, I believe that Mamel is indeed a chemistry fairy. She is very suitable to be paired with anyone. Wow, I thought she was the most suitable with BWS, but it turns out he's also suitable with Lomon. The last few episodes are very emotional. Mamel's acting is very impressive. Even with his cuteness, there are always scenes that make me laugh, that "black card" makes me laugh continuously. Always support this drama and continue to support all the cast.

island girl Mar 02 2026 6:34 pm tbh the hate-to-love plot took forever to pop off, which is why some people didn’t catch the chemistry at first ? the couple kept bickering and wanting their old lives back, i get them but when they finally catch feelings, the chemistry went up but it was a bummer this part came late. fr i was shook by lomon! he’s usually all about action and thrillers but as kang siyeol he slayed the drama scenes with all the yearning and crying ? most actors faces look all twisted when they bawl, but tbf lomon face stayed composed, i think it’s bcos he didn’t get plastic surgery and just be naturally handsome. or it’s bcos he was acting with kim, who’s always such a lovely character with any male partner. all kissing scenes plus a bed scene were crazy sweet. i wish they show more dating and cohabiting scenes, it’s romcom after all. watch it if you want fun, pick-me-up drama ?

Reign Mar 02 2026 5:47 pm It seems like there are quite a few people who aren’t a fan of Kim Hye-yoon, and I wonder if they might be from Lovely Runner. I don’t see any issues with the cast. Their acting is great, especially the comedy parts. The romance scenes really show their chemistry.

The drama though has a few problems with the editing, CGI, and the script. The story pacing feels a bit off. Episodes 1 to 4 should be wrapped up in one episode. The romance scenes came to late at episode 8 and don’t get enough screen time, so is the yearning when they got separated.

It feels like the script changed after that? It’s a mess from there. I see pattern of forced happy ending like the last 2 romcoms of sbs channel.

I wish to see them in different project again with much better story. Lomon and Hye-yoon can only do so much, no matter how good their acting is. What a waste of chemistry.

Basia Mar 01 2026 11:22 pm Lomon is gorgeous and a great actor but even he cannot save this lame script. The FL does not fit well with the story or the ML and she is totally without charm. Moreover, there is no chemistry between the leads so the romance aspect is not credible. So disappointing!

But honestly, I feel that this drama is too ordinary for today's era. The last episode felt rushed and wasn't told very well.

first ep was okay. not the normal gumiho wanting livers to be human etc. though there were already absurd scenes at the start.

but from ep2 onwards, i had to force myself to keep watching. lomon & hyeyoon has zero chemistry & both of their acting sucks.

not gonna continue watching even more after reading the reviews.

Olivia Feb 07 2026 11:49 am I think it’s childish to claim that Gumiho is not supposed to be certain personality ? people needs to watch this without comparing it to previous Gumiho drama. If they keep using the same old personality, then what’s the point of making new story? This is also why patriarchy will not gonna die soon cause some women are still hating it when a female character appear as alpha. They gonna attribute negative personalities as her downside, on the other side, some would close their eyes when a male character is acting as arrogant. Eunho’s personality of course has a backstory as she is not always as negative as she is, If You Actually Watch This Drama lol..

My unbiased verdict of the drama: the plot actually has potential. Chemistry may not be perfect, but the actors look good and tried their best. Might not be best drama of the year, cause fantasy is not eveybody’s cup of tea, but at least there is no bad acting. It’s gonna be a fun, less stressful watch to binge in your free time.

Sara Feb 04 2026 2:37 pm Have seen several gumiho series. From Shin Minah's sweetest unforgettable Gumiho to Lee Dong wook lovely sexy charismatic one. And those in between. But this one has nothing to do with gumiho. Arrogant, unkind, rude, revengeful and evil. More like a classic Korean mother in law than a super natural creature. The actress also physically doesn't fit the character. Usually when gumiho's use their power their eyes change and that gives them the fantasy feel more. Nothing like that here. The story telling and chemistry also is totally off

It bought needs to have money to to that. And in order to have money you need to have jobs. What a lame comparison. I don't know the other episodes be like. Hope the ratings move.

She act pretty good for an arrogant fox. Remind me alot like the chemistry of the leads in "My Dearest Nemesis".... quite loose!
