Choi Kang (Yoon Kye-Sang) lives in Changri Neighborhood. He works as an insurance investigator and he is former member of the JDD special forces. Kwak Byeong-Nam (Jin Sun-Kyu) is the president of the Changri Neighborhood Youth Association and is a former member of the HID counter-terrorism unit. He runs a hardware store that also sells stationery. Their neighbors include supermarket owner Jung Nam-Yeon (Kim Ji-Hyun), martial arts training gym director Lee Yong-Hee (Ko Kyu-Pil), and Seoul University engineering student Park Jung-Hwan (Lee Jung-Ha). These people, who have no interest in protecting their country, much less in global peace, gather together for their family and their neighborhood.

Count on kdramas to humanize terrorists by calling out systemic injustice and corrupt politicians. Loved how community organization saved the day. Hope there will be a Season 2. Also, really appreciate it when the production staff is highlighted after the final episode. Great job, everyone.

Rere Feb 09 2026 8:36 pm It's a fun drama! The only thing I feel unnecessary is the main lead's wife character/Doyeon's mom. She's just a filler character but she's annoying for me. She's too apathetic and kinda materialistic with the way they portrayed her (buying house in a potential redeveloping area and looked displeased when the plan fell through). She's also not doing much for their daughter. I wish Yoon Kyesang's character is just a widower single father. He did every childcare himself anyway.

Nadia Dec 28 2025 10:49 am The Winning Try and Heroes Next Door. Yoon Kye-sang really delivered with these two dramas back-to-back. Both turned out to be my comfort series. If The Fiery Priest and Salon de Holmes had a baby, this drama would be it. The friendships here remind me of The Fiery Priest, clumsy, chaotic, and full of heart.

I was always anticipating the fight scenes because they were absolutely dope. The last time I remember seeing Yoon Kye-sang kicking some ass was in Last, so I loved that we got to see it again here.

I would love to see a second season because this series truly deserves it. Overall, a solid 10/10.

Bit sad lots of people dont know about this. But its really fun to watch. I already watch 3 times ?. And I am asking who is Do Yoon mom backgroud i wish Season 2 she will be Secret Agents …

UDT fans Dec 16 2025 2:54 am IMO, this one is the best of 2025, for sure. I like the chemistry between Choi Kang and Byeong Nam. What a genius to bring Yoon Kye Sang and Jin Sun Kyu together. Looking forward to their next project together again.

Great casting, we have top OG actors/actresses in here.. now I know not all dramas are great with top actors but this one here is a gem for sure. I’ve watch a bunch of dramas of 2025 and I still can’t say which ones grab my attention so far and 2025 is almost over,, but this one here Hereos Next Door, is a must watch 100%.

Someone Nov 20 2025 3:22 am Just 2 episode but already so much happened. Very good blend of chaotic comedy, serious crime thriller, and also wholesome vibes. The cast is undoubtedly amazing. Yoon Kye Sang aka Jang Chen as mc hell yeah!! And the legendary Jin Sun Kyu as our 2nd mc. The show keep getting better.
