A story of people who have devoted their lives to the fashion industry and struggle to survive there.

Ji Woo-Min (Minho) is a freelancer retoucher, who is responsible for improving photographs. He is good looking and competent at his job, but he's not passionate about his work or with love.

Since Pyo Ji-Eun (Chae Soo-Bin) was little, she dreamed of working in the fashion field. She now works as the section chief of a luxury brand promotion agency. While she struggles to survive in the fashion field, she maintains herself with a bright personality and positive energy.

Notes

"The Fabulous" was originally scheduled for release November 4, 2022 on Netflix, but its release was postponed to December 23, 2022. The delay is due in consideration to the national mourning period for the Itaewon tragedy that occurred on October 29, 2022.

Brooklynienne Jan 04 2024 10:41 pm This drama was marred by gay stereotypes even if the leads were charming enough. I'd liken it to cotton candy--a ton of fluff, sugary, and empty calories. Not for me, but the comments show that some of you enjoyed it. On the other hand, I Loved the fashion.

The last fashion show, CEO Oh's leather dress, and the characters' ensembles were sweet eye candy.

Makjang Lovers, the exit is this way Sep 16 2023 10:38 am I agree with @Mugiwara, this series reminds me of Friends—which means it's not big on the plot but emphasize on the leads' friends circle with the daily lives of fashion industry as background. It did good job for compacted 8 episode, i just know the research on fashion subject was neat. I actually loves the familiarity-since-the-beginning of our two leads since they were exes—it's refreshing to skip introduction phase. For anyone complaining about how there's no chemistry; honey, they were Exes. The chemistry has long gone past. All you would see before the rekindle of the relationship would just be the longing of the regretful side (the guy) and the trust issue of the disappointed side (the girl). Their acting as exes staying friends in the same friends group is already so natural. And I love how they successfully displays the heartwarming vibes of their close-knitted friends group, it's emphasized. And they did so good of capturing modernity and not let things went makjang, even with the unbearable celebrities and fashion people And they even makes the (ex) rich mother-in-law to be modern-minded and turns wasteful rivalry of models into sisterhood. This is 2020s for you.

I think the reason I enjoyed it so much was because I found the main theme to be friendship; no matter what was going on in their lives, all the main characters had each other's back all the time. There were relationship storylines, work stress storylines, and family stuff, but the friendships between them all were the main focus. I honestly only watched it because I needed a light fluffy show after too many heavy, dark shows and also because I wanted to see Minho (big Shinee fan!). I was surprised by loving it so much that I had to binge it.

I watched this because I like choi Min ho of Shinee. Anhyhow I could see lot of new faces here. I appreciate their acting. I like the actor who act asJoseph and the actress who act was Ye seon ho.This drama was not bad really. If you too like watching fashion dramas do not miss this...

Lis Jun 13 2023 9:46 am By far one of the worst dramas I’ve ever “seen” . The storyline was stupid, the actors had no chemistry, the characters were annoying and boring af and the acting was Cringe!! Took me forever to finish it, I ended up watching it at 1.5x speed (unfortunately it was the highest) and I literally skipped through all the bs of secondary characters because they literally added nothing to the story. Even 8 eps was too long for this shit.

But everyone and I mean everyone but the main characters and their support group of characters, were aggravating asf! The influencers, the fashion reps, the stylists were all too much. I kept saying, I wish someone would treat me like that! Nope, I couldn't work in that type of environment, and I have worked in some toxic workplaces before. But I would never let anyone treat me the way Ji-Eun let people treat her every day. I liked Thierry. The story was only 8 episodes but it did seem a little draggy at times, like the build-up to the last 10 minutes of each episode was not there.

I was very hesitant to watch this drama but I am glad i watched it. Above anything else what stood out for me is the friendship those 4 people built. They built their career from scratch and able to rise to the top and even added the struggles, failures and all but their friendship stood above all of it. This reminded me of Friends in the fashion industry. I am glad they stopped at 8 episode though because the storyline would have stretched out.

Kudos to the actors, writers, production crew and netflix. Job well done!

meh Jan 28 2023 9:45 am the stereotyping drove me insane in this drama. not just the fashionista persona but also how they made gay people look. i get that they were trying to go for inclusivity but this isn’t how you do it. not all gay people are flamboyant screaming dudes. this didn’t help with lgbtq+ visibility, if anything it made the community fall deeper into stereotypes. i had to skip many scenes because it became unbearable to listen to so many people yelling nonsense and being flat out disrespectful towards each other. i was excited to watch after the first episode but it all went downhill. the chemistry wasn’t all there either… i’m so terribly sorry for minho but this just wasn’t it. slow and boring too btw! thankfully it was only 8 episodes or else i don’t think i would’ve made it to the end. sorry for being so harsh but my goodness was this hard to watch

With the main couple?! I'm glad SeonHo finds a man who would do anything for her. The only character I love. Kim minkyu's character was annoying! He's so loud! I understand the need for a comic relief in the series but he's such a bad actor at one scene in particular where he got present from his gf I was expecting him to look straight into the camera! His first few appearance was supposed to be oppurtunistic naive young man for the FL but he just look like a stalker through out the series. Looking at his idol background it made sense. Although the character is annoying, it's like D-plot storyline.
