In 1995, Komura (Masaki Okada), who is distraught over his wife's sudden disappearance, visits Kushiro. There, he hears about a mysterious UFO. In 2011, a runaway girl named Junko (Yui Narumi) begins to reflect on herself through exchanges with a man whose hobby is bonfires. In 2020, Yoshiya (Daichi Watanabe), who was raised as a child of God by his devout mother, questions the existence of his absent father. In 2025, Security Guard Katagiri (Koichi Sato) lives in a manga cafe and continues to pick up trash in Tokyo. When Mimizu-kun, who feeds on people's sorrows and misfortunes, starts wriggling in the ground again, Kaeru-kun (Non) returns to save humans.
