Vewer Mar 12 2026 3:43 am I enjoyed Season 1 but S2 royally sucks. S2 was totally Ruined by the new added Nose counter. Na Jeok-Bong character is so bad, I fast forwarded all the episodes. I hated him the whole thing. He was genuinely so useless. Writers made a serious mistakessss. They made him like a buffoon.....

Honestly, rest of the show was getting bad as well. Overly pretending .. I can't seem to find the right wording but in S1 So Mun was more humbler and a likeable. In S2 he has become a bit arrogant.

Also whats up with all the red lipsticks on male characters???? Is a red rash?? General trends with KDrama.

LesBleusSoumyadeep Jan 24 2026 2:02 am Season 1 was the best, coming from the fights with the evil spirits world to the fights with the real world (human world) scam. Season 1 was a blockbuster. Season 2 is ok, not that good enough like S1. In S2, although the VFX, animations were used very much to show the fights, the content was somewhat not like the S1, and this new counter Na Jeok Bong is a joker, he didn't deserve his role as a counter. Instead a serious, middle aged man or a young man (above 29) should have been appointed as a counter. Let’s hope in Season 3, they make a story line where the powerful evil spirits from S1 makes an alliance with S2 powerful evil spirits accompanied by new high level evil spirits.

Naya Jul 10 2025 2:21 pm As much as i loved season 1... i hated season 2. The antagonists were perfectly clichés and Na Jeok-Bong... I hated him the whole thing. He was genuinely so useless and a badly hidden comic relief. Im literally so upset because I started watching Uncanny Counters because of Yoo In-Soo. I'm glad I watched s1 because it was good but I'm so, so disappointed in s2. Genuinely one of the worst s2 I've watched in kdramas. And idc if it seems rude or anything they ruined uncanny counter imo.

k Aug 16 2024 12:43 am I really love the S1 and S2 kind of fine for me, But if you read its S2 it is not the same vibe as what you have seen in the drama (you can read it on Tapas, just search 'The Uncanny Counter'). I prefer the webtoon of S2 than the drama. I hope they consider the Season 3 in the webtoon and I hope they don't make drastic change that takes away the essence of the story.

Xag Jan 12 2024 1:03 am First season was really awesome and me and my sister really enjoyed it but S2 is just one big mess, they focused only on a group of super powered enemies, and so many cringy used of Telekinesis that made no sense at all. We liked the addition of new member although he was just a comic relief. Overall S2 is disappointing. If they're gonna make another season, I wish they do it like in S1 and with enemies with unique background and powers not just Telekinesis and super strength.

I was really at ecstacy when I found out that there's another season of TUC and I was also excited when they mentioned there is going to be another counter, but maybe I expected too much about Jeokbong. It is true that there were a lot of fight scenes but I really enjoyed them.

I kind of understand the other counters being scared and nervous when fighting evil spirits in s2 because they knew that the evil spirits especially, Pilgwang and Gelly knows too many about counters, given that they consumed the Chinese counters' souls too. I can see why they acted like that. I was confused when Jeokbong started to get all cocky, he's not even that good at fighting but I hope he can have a character development. Somun's character was quite frustrating too but I knew it I missed his shy and timid personality when he lost his powers. That's the Somun we knew and I'm happy that he's becoming more positive in this season. In my opinion, Kang Ki Young's acting played a big role in me continuing this season.

The comedy feel so off, some comedy no need to force just to make the series seems like not-too-serious? And why Mun being soo cocky? The first season is not even like that.. and why feel like they only depending on Mun only? Didn't they already a team and powerful even before Mun came in? Why suddenly they 'afraid' and 'weak', it doesn't make sense at all. Wish Jeok Bong become more power, but nope. Thought they're adding more members because they're lack of people to fight for, so what's the point adding new member? I don't see that's necessary at all if only the four members who can have real fight. They have training room, and I don't see any Jeok Bong development? It's like he is just side character. Many disappointment is this season.

K giann Nov 26 2023 1:02 am So far i don’t mind season 2, but some of their decisions are pretty stupid. Plus too many fight scenes. The farm boy was way too annoying. I truly hated that one eyed witch. I wanted to kill her myself. I’m only through episode 7. This season is not as good as season 1. I think they could have done a better job of writing the script. It was all over the place.

Shin Yagami Nov 16 2023 3:34 pm 1st season was good. 2nd season is painfully dumb at times (don’t want to spoil things for people, you’ll figure it out as soon as you watch) I’ve been watching kdrama since 2018 & this was the 2nd time I actually forced myself watching the show; the 1st was Rugal (anyone who has watched it knows how dumb that was). That’s how bad it was… I hope they don’t make a 3rd season cause they’ll have to end up fighting Godzilla or something as it would be anticlimactic to go back to fighting D tier demons lol

avery Sep 28 2023 2:00 pm loved first season & was very excited when Netflix updated the second season. currently at ep7. season2 is much more intense and dark. the evil spirits are much more stronger as well. first ep made me want to drop the series but i endured because of So Mun. i find MJS turning into evil spirit weird and unnecessary. i will keep watching until the end for So Mun & Jeok Bong.

Spoiler?: Ms So meeting Ms Chu in Yung made me cry so much. why can't the writers make it as a joint team instead?

So-mun always allow his emotions rule over him rather the work he his meant to do, at least the movie is meant to be imagined as if it were reality, so I don't understand why the movie wasn't acted as believable as possible .

The actor that plays the villiain Hwang Pil Gang steals every scene he is in. Mo Tak and Ma Ju Seok battle scenes are incredible. 11 stars

Acting skills from all actors are 10/10 Their chemistry is the best. I watched behind the scenes,they all had so much fun filming. No wonder their chemistry is awesome. Hoping for season 3 and must original counters. They are brilliant actors! And Byeong Gyu & Sejeong are so beautiful.

Lee ji Sep 11 2023 7:20 am He can control anything with telekinesis but he didn't control the hand of evil spirit pointing gun. he took the bullet using his body in episode 4. This is the reason why i discontinued watching the remaining episodes. Very upset.

Khanh Sep 11 2023 2:15 am I had lot of expectations when hear about season 2, the script sounds good on paper, but they make it terrible in the drama. The story is heavily focus on Ju Seok and So Mun. All is too weak when compare to them. All counters are left behind after So Mun, they just useless without So Mun. So Mun got almost every special skill, but they don't get anything new beside poor telekinesis work sometime. So much hype on Joek Bong special skill but they don't do that. Great. The drama is full of boring and repeat conversation, useless scenes. I watch it at 2x speed, but stills feel so slow. The profit seems waste all in first scene of ep1. All combat scenes behind this scenes just boring. Counters don't use brain to work at all. They can read mind but they don't use to investigating. They are so weak when face evils, but they never comes together, always be separated. Even in final combat, each one come and attack villain, then fall, then repeated again. Never use any plans except kill evil woman. Evils just lot of things to threw at them, while them just use their hand to fight. Great. In 11 eps, there is lacking communication when see the evils. Poor Yung communication system when they don't know anything to deliver. Final ep just feel so similiar to final ep of Sailor Moon, when they just wait Ju Seok wake up, really, counters? In whole series, we never have any twist, because it just too slow and easy to guess. Lacking punishment even in 2 season for that Baekdu Group. The only good about this season is Kang Ki Young so sexy. Don't want to watch season 3 if they keep ruining like this.

I wish for season 3. Maybe in season 3, everyone got more powerful and they can win without the host's help. Maybe this season just wanna show the good people still have good inside them. But I do like strong evil spirit. That way, the fight will be awesome. Wish to see you all again, Somun, Hana, Ms Chu,Motak,JeokBong!

KST Sep 09 2023 5:58 am I just finished watching this series yesterday. Wow its so amazing. The acting was really amazing. But I prefer season one over season two for no special reason. LOL. Will miss counters so much. I thought there would be romance between So mun and Hana. But there were none. I am disappointed a bit for that. Anyway this drama is really entertaining. I would like to recommend this drama to all fantasy and action drama lovers.

But I'm still not used to have Kang Ki Young as a villain, because his image that has been stuck in my head is the comedic character, LOL. This is the first time I see him as a villain, and it feels strange

An Ha Sep 08 2023 12:35 pm Superb drama, different from others kdrama... really enjoy their acting, all are good actor and actress. Even so mun and hana are new, but their acting are totally good. Those villain also such kang ki young ( i like watch your acting in Bring it on, ghost and attorney woo) and ma ju seok (king the land - even as cameo and confidential assisgnment 2 with hyun bin) are senior with great acting skills that bring the evil alive. I also like the ending for all of them. So mun focus in his task, hana still caring for the Do hwi, Madam Chu with her new son, and they still together. Waiting for S3....please make it!

Nik Sep 07 2023 5:02 pm I don't know which season I like more, 1 or 2 ... because both are fantastic! They rank on top of my fav K-drama watchlist. The characters are great, the actors rock down to the smallest supporting role. Jo Byeong-gyu was made to play So Mun, Kang Ki-Young gets you to really hate his character, well done! Great effects, camera work and scenery. I really wished I could have been around when they were filming all of this :) I scream out loud for a season 3! JEBA~~~L 제발~~~!

Hohum Sep 06 2023 2:41 pm Dragging. The writing is so lame. There's no character development. Some shows are better off without Season 2 as they will evetually ruin the show and this is one of them. Skipped a lot because the episodes are repetitive with lots of loophole. Didn't bother to finish it. And will not pick it up again.

I really love uncanny counter ever since season 1, It is my favorite kdrama and I love all the characters they are so good. I want to have season 3 pleasee and let somun and hana to be together, I want them to be the endgamee since season 1. I want Hana and somun to be together pleaseee. My Rate in Uncanny Counter Season 1 was 10/10 because it was so good. In the Uncanny Counter Season 2 I will rate it 8/10 becausee i want hana and somun to be together pleaseee.

Mick Psyphon Sep 06 2023 2:03 am After watching the entire series, my initial opinion hasn't changed. Good storyline. Good acting. Some excellent openings for a continuation of the series, if/when they choose to do so. The single negative point about this series was the addition of Na Jeok-Bong. I still can't fault the actor, because he was merely doing what he was directed to do. His character was simply awful. It never seemed like he belonged with the team. It's one thing to write the character as a simpleton, but what they did was make the character out to be an idiot and a coward. It was like adding Baby Huey to the Justice League.

If they do another season, I really hope that they develop that character properly. Give the actor a chance to show his acting chips.

Despite the silly character, I recommend this series. It's worth watching.

Just as I thought, there's some Korean watching on OTT platform instead of TVN because "The Uncanny Counter: Season 2: Counter Punch" is Top 10 in 13 countries on Netflix and that includes South Korea as well.

At least we know there's still many enjoyed it and still enjoying it. And as International fan of TUC, I am so happy Netflix picked this up. My sisters haven't watch it yet, put it on the list to watch. They are type to watch marathon when its completed.

I totally love TUC. But season 1 was so good, it's unbeatable. I am watching season 1 again and gonna rewatching season 2 after that. Still can't move on with this drama. Love it so much!

I hope that will happen in Season 3. It is nice for a series like this to have another season because it is very, very enjoyable and wonderful. buttery Sep 05 2023 1:01 am To be honest, season 2 was pretty good. If you enjoyed s1, you’ll think s2 is worse and I totally get it. The way they made the characters were weird and messy. They always had to rely on so mun or else they would just lose without him which was unlike s1. They also showed do hwi who just always randomly popped up in almost every episode. Jeok bong is fine, you’ll think he’s annoying but I liked him. They just didn’t let him gain any development, not even after the 6 month time skip. Every fight in each episode was always predictable, they always win against weak evil spirits, but lose to level 3’s then end up winning in the end (obviously) during the last episodes.

Other than that, totally loved s2. I give it a 7/10 ❤️ prob 8/10 on a good day lmao

I thoroughly enjoyed both seasons, it can get very intense at times, but there is also some comic relief too. Don't listen to the naysayers, watch it for your self. I liked it.

The idea was there but it was so very poorly executed. I honestly can only think of 3 things I liked: the idea of them using telekinesis, SoMun and HaNa Not ending up together (this isn’t romance people) and that no one from the OG team died. Didn’t like: how they made SoMun seem so much more powerful than the others to the point were it seem they were useless without him. From S1 I loved how they all were so badass and complemented each other so well. What I absolutely hate it: Jeong Bok, the most useless, painfully obnoxious character ever. Added absolutely Nothing to the story. Why the hell did they make HaNa so weak this season?! She was THE badass of S1. I’m all about character development but this aint it. The wannabe Batman black goo demon, annoying af. The villains, so overacted to the point it was ridiculously cartoon-ish, specifically the no eyebrows dude and the annoying blonde b*tch. There was no variety, it was the same damn plot throughout all 12 eps. I was so over it by ep 6. The amount of times SoMun said “ahjussi” had me rolling my eyes. The ADS, goodness gracious. And let’s talk about the ending, they literally Lost the fight!! Which btw, longest 3 minutes and 59secs ever!! That shit lasted half an hour and they still managed to stop it with time to spare. Anyways, they lost!! He choked them to death, it wasn’t SoMun or the team who stopped it, it was the bad guy. Like really?! I’ll just pretend S2 was a nightmare and try to forget it.

Hopefully they make season 3 but if they don't, I really wish someone will make a rom-com drama starring Jo Byeong Gyu and Sejeong. They both are great actors and both are super good looking. The counters past lives in s1 really made a good subplot and I cried a river the season finale when somun finally saw his parents. They attempted to do the same with majuseok meeting minji again but it’s just hard for me to even relate to it. And they completely erased hanamun like s1 didn’t exist at all, instead they put a nugu guy for hana’s story. And they did na jeokbong’s character very dirty, putting him in only to be… what? He didn’t contribute to the story at all. Better put TUC back to OCN. TVN didn’t do it any good I think. But if they’re gonna continue like this then don’t bother making s3.

And I thought a counter’s healing abilities could only heal injuries. Unless Ma Juseok/Hwang Pil Gwang is just that powerful, in which case the writers really need to stop giving him so many powers because unless So Mun gains the ability to summon any evil spirit without doing the summoning thing by the end of this season, there’s not much else they can do to make So Mun stronger

Although a lot of hardworking has been done on the graphics but the emotion that actually hooked the audience is not being portrayed at all. Instead itseems that the concentration is more on the graphics than the story line. Best example to say sometimes simplicity just rules. Had actually expected a lot more in season 2 but it gets boring episode after episode. Overall S2 is an OK drama but could have been much better but S1 was too good.

You had to stay focused because every loose thread in the storyline turned out to be an important part of the plot. All that combined with a cast that clearly enjoys what they are doing and you just want to absorb this story as quickly as possible. All the characters were good, even the villains. A good balance between humor, drama, action and suspense.

The second season feels different. I was a little irritated by Sun's arrogance. I think and hope this is part of the plot. Feeling invincible, Sung is surprised by an evil spirit that is just as strong. From Episode Two, my sympathy for him returns, but not in the way it did in the first. The new Counter is funny, but whether his power is the addition I chose....

There are comments below that indicate that the story is going off and on, but honestly, as strong as Season 1 was, it did go off track at times. I'm on episode 5 now. So far I think it's a good story. Still, this season lacks the rhythm of the first. But, despite that, I keep watching, just not with the same urge as with the first season.

Oh, and to end on a positive note: Also in this season the fun of the cast splashes off the screen. all good actors for whom I hope they can make another good and strong season 3.

I was worried that a new member will be someone who is arrogant, selfish, stubborn type of guy. Then Jeok Bong, a country bumpkin who is kindhearted showed up. He maybe scaredy cat but he's not selfish. He's willing to quit and coma again because he didn't want to become a burden to the team. He's still weak at this moment since he still have lots to learn and his 1st evil spirits are the powerful ones but still he never leave his members behind. He just follow orders so he won't become trouble to his team. So,for me, I do like Jeok Bong character. Jeok Bong ah, gwenchana! There's people like you too :D And I Love TUC2. <3

When the ByeongGyu scandal broke I was so sad thinking s2 wouldn’t happen but then actually getting a sequel I was so freaking happy. I’ll probably write another review after the finale but for now I’ll just say 1) the plot makes No Sense, writers are not keeping up with the storyline and keep contradicting themselves. 2) JeokBong is the stupidest most useless and annoying character they could’ve added. Also the over acting is making me dislike the actor (it didn’t help watching The Good Bad Mother simultaneously with this one) 3) why the hell did they make Hana so weak this season?!? She was a freaking bad ass in the first one ! 4) the villains are trash. They are very cartoonish, very over acted “look at me I’m evil” type. Cheong Sin from s1 was better than all of them combined. And that black goo evil batman spirit shit Annoying as hell. 5)They rushed the storyline and they have dragged that shit throughout all 12 eps which is just boring as hell. The Chinese counters lasted 3 secs on screen, they immediately figured out they absorbed their powers and by ep 2 or 3 they had already come face to face. It has just been the same plot in each ep. 6) SoMun losing his power over 2 erased memories.. really?! Makes ZERO sense… *sigh* I’ll stop because honestly I could write an essay or thesis about how bad this season is. Bye

They can use gun to kill but they will become murderer and go to prison. I remember in season 1x3, when Somun still can't control his emotion and beat the evil spirit almost to death. MoTak ahjussi stopped him. Later told him that not just evil spirit go to hell but the host's soul can't go afterlife and Somun will go to prison for murder. That's why, they only summon the evil spirit and they send the host to police. Xoxo :)

My theory Aug 27 2023 10:25 pm I wonder if the evil spirit that entered Ma Ju Seok has something to do with that Counter that died in a coma. Like somehow the Counter and their Yung partner merged and maybe their lingering emotions made them become an evil spirit (hence being able to draw power from the territory). With just 2 episodes left in the series, I doubt they’d go this route, but it’d be interesting if they did.

I've always felt that he deserves more prominent roles. Seeing him as the main bad guy is probably a step towards lead roles.

The one negative part about this series, which is really rather annoying, is the character of Na Jeok-Bong. To say that he's written poorly is an understatement. I could live with the notion that his special power is to sniff out evil spirits and demons, but his actions are so over the top ridiculous, including his cowardly and overly emotional behaviour. Worse than that, is the fact that he comes off as a complete idiot. To be fair, I don't fault the actor. I know nothing of his previous work, but it really does seem like he's being directed to behave that way; and it all just seems too unnatural. It simply doesn't fit the story. I'm unable to suspend disbelief that the character would be with the rest of the Counter team.

They still have time to fix those issues; and they should start by giving him a wig that at least LOOKS natural. After that, maybe they could start writing they character to act more normal! You'd figure that by now, he'd have developed a spine, because he's stronger than he ever was; and he should be learning from the other Counters.

I'll keep watching, but unless they change that character drastically, it'll be like stabbing me in the back with a pick axe and using a cheese grater along my spine, everytime he appears on-screen.

Season 2 opened with dramatic moment but due to terrible story logic, Chinese counters lose so easily to those evil spirits, allowing them to absorb all their powers, this is first red flag of any story telling! Don't bring big names into the drama, they will overstay until the end which is making it super boring to see their faces every episodes. Give viewers the working formula from season 1 - different cases at different location with different evil spirits, keep changing so we won't get bored so easily. Hwang Pil-Gwang, Gelly Choi and Wong trio should appear at current episode 8, drive story till the end for grand finale. That new silly counter and Ma Ju-Seok are so annoying! If there is chance for next season, get new writers and directors, this season is a big letdown! lol

I have to revisit back again on this. and he is not there most of the time during the fight. I also hope thag there are different villain they could fight just like they do @ season 1. Those 2 have a very good platonic relationship and I think that’s enough, they don’t have to be romantically interested in each other just to have a strong bond. Also they can be complete characters without needing a romantic interest and shows can be interesting without romance

I really love the storyline and how the show actually feels like a live-action manhwa. Amazing actors all around, even in bit roles.

Logically speaking, not remembering the moment you accepted the rules to being a Counter doesn’t mean it never happened. Unless this is foreshadowing to how Wi Gen was able to enter his body when he wasn’t in a coma at the time. But that still wouldn’t explain why his powers are gone now. And are they gone or just sealed away?

I thought maybe he'll become stronger and usefull later, but he is useless up until episode 8. My second most annoying character is Ma Ju Seok, at first I understand his feeling and action like someone maybe act like him after losing his wife and unborn child, but after several episodes his emotion become so cringe. I don't pity him anymore, he's just annoying. I hope the conflict end soon. This conflict doesn't interesting anymore and feel draggy. Even after Gelly erase Somun memory, I just hate it. The writer just make the counter become weak. At this point I just hope all the counter die and the drama end. Just it. It's become more torturing each episode I watch.

The main counter actors don’t seem at all committed to this story as if they were forced to do season two because season one was successful. Especially Kim Se-Jeong, does she even want to be on set, though all of the main characters don’t seem convincing in their respective roles. I agree with earlier comments that the new counter, Na Jeok-bong is just an annoying character and ruins the whole show but that’s the writer and directors fault. I really enjoyed season one but this second attempt is tragic!! Sorry to those that like this. I’ve watched over 500 different Kdramas, Cdramas and Jdramas so I think I do have some sort of informed opinion, but each to there own?

Admittedly, I never read the web comic version, but it looks like Jang Yi will continue to have the last word on screenwriting again. You can't go wrong with that choice!

The only question that I have is: what happened to the new, tailored suits that they received at the end of the last series? They seem to have switched back to wearing athletic gear, except that it's black now. For continuity, they should explain that at the first couple of episodes, at least.

He cries everytime it concerns his dead parents or whenever his friends are in danger. I don’t see anything annoying on that. But he knows how to defend others and to stand up to himself. He’s soft hearted, that’s why he cries easily. He’s maturing in the series, and he is slowly getting used to his powers as a counter. Anyway, I love this series. I had to take a break from the show a few times. But thinking about it since they decided to make a second season, the first season can be known as his baby phase and second season be his grownup phase. Hopefully it will be like that. Be a badass counter! Also like how there was no romance element since kdramas have that urge to put that romance part in nearly every damn show. Or no real fillers like some long lost relative comes for one episode to cause trouble or main characters break up for no reason for one episode just to get back together gain. Damn, thinking back, season one was good.
