Yoon Gab (Yook Sung-Jae) is a government officer and works within the palace. He has a good reputation and has a handsome appearance. One day, Yoon Gab's body becomes possessed by an Imoogi creature. Soon afterwards, people begin to talk about him as if he has lost his mind. The Imoogi that has possessed Yoon Gab is related to Yeo-Ri (Bona), whose first love is Yoon Gab.

Yeo-Ri is the only granddaughter of a famous shaman and Yeo-Ri herself has a divine gift, but she refuses her fate as a spirit medium. She instead works as a glasses craftswoman. The Imoogi needs Yeo-Ri's body to ascend to Heaven, but Yeo-Ri won't allow it. After Yoon Gab becomes possessed, Yeo-Ri enters the palace that is filled with powerful female ghosts and evil spirts. Meanwhile, King Lee Sung (Kim Ji-Hoon) is a reformist monarch who dreams of a strong Joseon nation. Weird and terrible incidents continue to take place within the palace. These are related to the powerful female ghosts, who holds a grudge against the royal family. To get rid of the ghosts, Yoon Gab, Yeo-Ri, and King Lee Sung searches for the secret of the female ghosts.

MBrosseau Nov 12 2025 6:40 pm I'm quite surprised at the negative comments for this drama. I find it one of the most meaningful and charming shows I've seen in a long time. Bona is an actor I have never liked but I felt she portrayed her character quite appropriately here and she is a good balance with the Gangcheol character who is so energetic and playful or mischievous (a delightful and masterful performance by Yook Sungjae). Of course the king was excellent and I'm very impressed by his performance, by far his best imo. The main plot deals so clearly with the resentment of "evil" spirits and how to truly resolve their resentment so they can be liberated and return to the original good nature. This theme could really not have been more effectively portrayed. Those who are more aware of the reality of the spirit world will surely attest to this, and those who are not yet so aware can learn a lot from this drama. I hope that if even one person watches it and gains some understanding my effort to encourage them will have had value.

I'll rate this 9/10, it should be 10/10 if they add more scene of Kim Young Kwang(real Kang Chul) in Yoon Gap's body like the pov or should be Kim Young Kwang's voice.

Ddeonu Jun 26 2025 2:20 am at first i didn't want to watch it because i thought this drama was very scary because there were ghosts :D after i dared myself. it turned out this drama was very good, exciting, very touching, and sad. which at first they were still strangers now help each other because of evil spirits.

for yook seongjae, he fits his role very well. so does Bona, her role is very good and clever when she becomes a shaman. and Kim Jihoon. he successfully played the role of a wise king. not cheesy like the king characters in other dramas. basically all the actors/actresses in this drama successfully played their roles so that this drama received many positive reviews.

but i was waiting for the one about Prince Yeong-In when his spirit returned from the eight-legged spirit, i thought he would meet his mother and say touching things. it's a bit unfortunate that it didn't exist.

but never mind. the drama wants to remain the best drama i've watched. rate 10/10

yanyanyan Jun 25 2025 2:10 am I was drawn with the ghosts' stories around the palace but it was abandoned in the middle of the series and focused more on the 8-feet spirit. After that, it was exhausting to watch. The leads keep on losing while the evil spirit keeps on winning. Until the end i thought of dropping it but i wanted to know the ending.

Ryunami Jun 24 2025 8:12 am Kim Jo hoon is so good as the King. This kdrama has given me a new perspective of him coz I have never seen him in a historical drama. His acting as a good King and a loving husband to the Queen is impressive. I also enjoy this kdrama till the end because of my interest in ethnic rituals. This kdrama has shown a very proper guide in shamanism and the tools or prayers/songs/dances used in the rituals. Never seen such a thorough and meticulous rituals shown in a kdrama before. Kudos to the whole production of this show.

EMMR Jun 21 2025 5:33 am At last, there is a King that is not so fool. I'm so tired watching historical Kdramas with a King being so stupid at times. Though I am still at episode 8, I hope they will kept this phase in the upcoming episodes. Also, I hate seeing comments about FL female expressions being dull, the F of course she is playing a role of a woman with lots of hardships growing up, how do you expect her to carry out her role, being overly dramatic or jolly? I will rate this 9/10 for now and will keep on watching even I have read some negative comments below since I have already seen a lot of this before and right after I finished those series, it is not bad as it seems. Kudos still to these production team always creating Kdramas like this! :)

Although a bit dragging, I like how team Gangcheori and team ghost always tried to fight for the upper hand. But tbh.. the directing sucks... Thankfully, the chemistry among team Gangcheori saved the show!! Ah, and the lead actress' perfomance sometimes seemed off, but still fit the serious character of Yeo-Ri.

SWP Jun 06 2025 12:30 pm This movie is getting boring. Geongchori and Yeo Ri are way too weak. Geongchori is supposed to be a god, yet he gets defeated so easily by a ghost? It makes no sense. He acts like he has no dignity at all. Even bibi who is supposed to be a pure God, not trapped in a human body, ends up getting killed by a 2.5-meter ghost? This film is frustrating. Geongchori is veeeery weak and It’s really disappointing.

Ryo Mizo May 26 2025 8:00 pm I have watched episodes 1-12 in two days. NGL, i watched it out of boredom, randomly. I didn't know what to expect as I am not really a K-drama addict, but I loved all the few dramas I watched as per reco.

Anyway, I was hooked. And as I am a patient person, I forgave all the tiny shortcomings and considered the drama as a whole and I give it a two thumbs-up. I enjoyed it very much, thank you for the palpitations and agitations and am looking forward to the last few episodes.

As for the actors, I find the Sung-Jae, Han Gyeol, In-Kwon, Chung-Hwa, I find them very entertaining. Although there was only a decent amount of chemistry between the two leads, they still pulled it through. On the other hand, I am now a fan of Kim Ji-hoon, I am looking forward to more kingly roles for him. It really suits him, and he has such a handsome face! I hear he has an athletic body as well. That's nice. Anyway, I hope more people will watch this!

rei May 26 2025 1:13 am At first I was not interested in the love story of yeori and yoon gap, in my mind yeo ri and kang chul have more chemistry, but after yoon gap died and became obsessed with kang chul this drama became more interesting, I always imagined the original kang chul in yoon gap haha

It started off really well, but as the story went on, it kind of lost its charm. Everything just kept circling around this 8-foot ghost, and the plot didn’t feel deep at all. The two leads? Totally mismatched. They just don’t click. I honestly thought it was going to be a good one, but it’s turning out to be disappointing. Although the series isn’t finished yet, so maybe there’s still hope. But for now, I’m not feeling it. It’s been a boring ride so far.

Because, we can see the heart warming development feelings between Kang Chul and Yeo Ri. I mean after a lot of hatred for the past 13 years, I don't think it will flip in a night.

I'm not a horror story fan so I'm kinda skeptical, but it's not too horror-like, like a serious horror movie, but the element of horror is still okay and enough. The cast is good too actually, the shaman Yeo Ri is fit the actress, not too girly but she can hold the weight and burden of being a shaman, Gangcheori is fit with the actor as well (Kim Young Kwang and Yook Sung Jae), the king is Kim Ji Hoon omg I'm a fan and finally can see him act as king! I finished all 4 episodes in one day, can't wait for the next!
