Yoon Ga-Min (Minhyun) is a student at a notorious vocational high school with many troubled students. He has the appearance of a model student with glasses, neat appearance, and innocent looks. He wants to do well academically, but his scores are always at the near bottom of the school. What he he lacks in book smarts, he makes up for in strength and fighting skills. To help improve his grades, he forms a study group. Whenever the members of his study group are in trouble, Yoon Ga-Min fights for them to keep his study group.

Bunnysoy Jun 04 2025 3:56 am Up until the last fight or perhaps even a few fights beforehand everything was just fine. It seems that MCs strength was not really all that special. For someone who trained daily since young he was indeed powerful. But as soon as he encounters final boss match suddenly they become pretty even? With the personality of Han Ul it hardly seems plausible for him to have built up that much strength and expertise in fighting. He said it himself that he doesn't believe in putting effort into anything when you can have others do it for you. He had lackeys that did the dirty work for him. So why would he waste any time in getting strong himself? And on top of that he was just as strong as the MC when the MC had been building up his strength since childhood. From that point on the story kind of went sideways on me. Sadly, it was just as the story was concluding. You can definitely tell who the fanboys and fangirls of the actors are in the comments. Of course, to a fan their hero/ine can do no wrong. Although, I do appreciate that they did not force any romance on the MC in the whole storyline. I agree with what some said that the ending seemed a bit rushed but it could still have been written better, I think. Worth watching? Admittedly, yes. Worth rewatching? Maybe, if I really wanted to scrutinize every single scene to check for consistency and perhaps if I missed any cues and clues.

The ending kinda feel rushed for me, and a plot hole remain. In the final episode, Pi Han Ul confessed that he is the culprit behind the murder of teacher Oh Jung Hwan and currently he is an 11 grader. However, the murder of teacher Oh was happening when Park Geon Yeob is still in elementary/junior high school. Kinda doesn't make sense how Pi Han Ul ended up only a year above Park Geon Yeob.

And for the actor who played Pi Han Ul, I hope you could do better next time

One gripe I have is the main villain, I mean how can someone believe that he is a better fighter than the main character when there is no backstory to him. How did he learn to fight? I’m just supposed to believe that the main character was no match for him. We’ve seen Ga min train with a master since he was a child here come a villain with a shallow backstory beat the crap out of him.

I started reading the manhwa, Hwang Minhyun really nailed his role. Need season 2 Asap. My 3 best and fav characters so far: Yoon Gamin, Lee Jiwoo and Lee Joon. My least fav characters: Hanwul & Minhwan (I hate them in the drama and the manhwa) Can we get a more handsome guy for Phi Hanwul? He's so different based on the manhwa. In the manhwa he's charismatic, I don't even see that in cha woomin (to be honest)

The humor and engaging storyline made the first five episodes really enjoyable and worth watching. However, after episode five, the plot began to lose its charm and became increasingly repetitive. The story seemed to go in circles without much development, making it feel dragged out. It almost felt like the webtoon writer was running out of fresh ideas, as the narrative started lacking originality and excitement.

This drama has everything I wanted.. bromance with Gamin and study group gang always feel touching. A solid lineup of characters that are impossible not to love. Is it just me or does Suncheol look like Song Mino?

I almost teared up in Episode 6 when Gamin was teaching Sehyun how to fight over the phone.. that scene really got me. And the way all the shibal sekkiyas redeemed themselves in the end to protect Ms. Lee that was top-notch.

This drama delivered on action, emotions, and friendships, making it one of the best school dramas I’ve seen in a long time. Highly recommend!

Oh also pls make 3 seasons!!!! Like the next season would be in university era, and third season would be like an adulthood era where the story about a rivarly between companies maybe. Ok i think i delulu sm, i actually never heard of the manhwa but i hope it get close to the one of my wishes :)

I started watching this because of Hwang Minhyun, and this series was top-notch. I loved the characters, and the story was superb. It's a series I didn’t want to end.

Ara Feb 12 2025 10:45 am so, getting into the manhwa and then getting into friendly rivalry manhwa to exploring the wiki of the characters I found something cool. Apparently, a bunch school based manhwas are actually connected in something called Blue String Universe. Yoon Gamin makes an appearance in the epilogue of Friendly Rivalry. And for those who have read Get Schooled which is no longer available in Webtoon also makes appearance. And honestly it blew my mind. Hopefully we see some crossovers.

I’m hoping that if they ever continue with Season 2, like the manhwa, it should have more than 10 episodes. there were many chapters in the manhwa (not saying they should match the number of chapters, as that would be too long), but at least make it more than 10 pleaseeeee

P. Saci Juci Jan 26 2025 1:46 pm The best opening episode for a series since Vincenzo. Totally draws you into the story in 5 minutes. Excellent cast, excellent tempo, great cut, awesome cinematography and a very detailed, very clear and fresh way of directing. I think the 5th generation of Hallyu actors are even better than the first ones! My heart is skipping a beat to see all these beautiful And talented young Korean actors. I have learned Korean during the past three years day and night to understand how and what they speak in kdramas. It was worth every minute. This totally adds to the experience. I am saying and I mean it that nothing comes even close to Korean entertainment industry these days. Study Group is a vivid example.

It literally got my heart bouncing of excitement and it was very funny as well. Now I don't know how I will wait for the next episode. I really wish they keep the same energy throughout the drama because for now, it's insane!

Personally, I think I will love anime version more because Gamin roles have so much things extraordinary. Especially his moves on fight scene.

Looking forward to Study Group just for him. He's gonna be an amazing actor in the future even tho i missed him as an idol/singer too.
