"The Third Charm" tells the love story between On Joon-Young (Seo Kang-Joon) and Lee Young-Jae (Esom) from the ages of 20 to 32.

Joon-Young is a 20-year-old university student. He is a neat, good student, wearing unassuming glasses, jeans, white shocks and white sneakers. He doesn't care about fashion. Joon-Young plans more than necessary and he is sensitive. Joon-Young then takes part in his first blind date. There, Joon-Young meets Young-Jae and they begin to date.

Young-Jae, is also 20-years-old, is emotional, spontaneous and honest. She doesn't have parents, but she is really close to her older brother. They live together and rely on each other. Her dream is to become rich and she decided to work as a hairdresser's assistant rather than going to a university. A friend then dragged her to a blind date meeting with a university student. There, she meets Joon-Young who has a totally different personality from her.

Marianne May 12 2026 9:18 pm I loved this show, sat with the characters every night as they took me along this realistic journey of life and love.

The cast especially the male and female leads were so in character, they did a wondeful job growing their characters through the seasons. You could actually look back and see the change, although the drama was shot in a matter of months. Also SKJ was such a beautiful visual choice but you don't need me to tell you that.

The scriptwriters, the director, I have them to thank too for a fantastic job taking this realistic kdrama that I felt would have translated very well to theatre, to the masses.

I hardly cry when watching dramas of any sort, but this one resounded with me. I shed a tear because it all a bit too much for me. If you have gone through some seasons of life, you could see these screenwriters knew their subject matter very well. Iykyk.

Then the last five minutes after going through this journey with the leads and going through "12 years", the ending had no closure, did not make sense and just basically prolonged the viewers' uncertainty into infinity.

I mean, have a heart, you scriptwriters! The male lead cancelled his wedding to go toward a life of more achievement and possibly more broken relationships, what even is that? I thought he loved his first love so Third Time's the Charm right? He made himself available by cancelling the wedding, she's available too after the divorce, why not just put them together?

I demand a reshoot of the last five minutes!!

Rating: 7/10 ( would have been a 9/10, but due to the horrible ending my heart is aching so much I am taking away two stars)

But the actors are magnificent. It's not my favorite series, but it's a good one, full of emotion, love and tears.

Capt Team Mar 13 2025 9:59 am The real drama. 2018, I was young, I don't understand this drama at all. A lot of questions fill my head. I thought every romance must be happy ending. Now when I rewatch this, I understand the real meaning. This is the real one, the realistic one.

The acting of the main leads super perfect, the song and cinematography so beautiful. Perfect drama, especially for these days. Love is not that easy guys. Not every story end with happy ending.

The very subtle portraying of sufferance ..just through silence and eye contacts S still lingers and moves me deeply...

I am vers grateful to the actors and writing of the drama..

Norik Baboorian c Dec 26 2023 9:23 am I know it’s a common theme , but this was so well done as a comedy , I have seen seo kang joon in other dramas , but , he mastered this character , I thought I was watching the great comedian American comedian Jerry Lewis , he was that good and Esom played the straight girl opposite him , just loved the acting and the comedy . Addie Banks Sep 24 2023 10:42 pm (Spoilers) I was so moved by this series! It had everything in the range of human emotions. However, at the end I felt I had been severely emotionally manipulated without cause!! Since the writers created all these connections between these two people including a theme song that reiterated “you are my destiny” them going off without each other seemed pointless, after all they had endured both together and independently. The end would have been more tolerable even if they weren’t the couple getting married, which is also a twist on the emotions, but one that we could all readily accept. However, to have them take this walk at the end and he’s going to New York where she would’ve loved to have gone five years ago and she’s going to the country village where he said he wanted to be, but she couldn’t see herself tolerating it. Now she finds peace there and he’s become overly in need of busyness. Engagement etc.!! Maybe what he really says in that scene is lost in translation. It would seem that they have come to be a part of each other in a way that they weren’t before. This seems like what every good relationship counts as desirable outcomes on couplehood, both of them understanding the other and in some way empathy giving rise to unityso why the split at that point it was so frustrating. I actually went and watched the movie three more times just to see how and why you came up with that ending and I still think it’s ridiculous. One comment I read was they don’t get back together but it’s hopeful so in my mind , I have continue this SQL with them getting back together, at least still dating and ending up married with another child. Instead they both are just content to have grown into themselves and expanded the depth and breadth of their understanding of self and other and now they are fulfilled!!? My bad I kept thinking of this as one of those immortal love stories where the couple over comes every obstacle and ends up with each other. Instead all the other couples get this… instead of them and all the hard work grief and pain suffered they are now content to live life without the close intimacy of partnership after their only 3minth passionate love fest?!! And now in the prime of their adulthood when they finally come into being fully present to themselves and the other these two young people walk into the sunset and part joyfully… so with all the dozens of connections that should connect them… they go their separate ways??! What!!!?

Co Sep 02 2023 8:00 am I watched this movie cos of Seo Kang, I just finished watching him on Are you human, I was in love with his skills, so I got his other movies too. 3rd charm was so disappointing. He acted so well but the story is a Wreck!!. Watching 3rd Charm till the end gave me emotional stress. Had it been I knew, I would have stopped in the middle. I was genuinely hoping to see a good ending, but the series finished with a heart ache. I don't know about you all but LOVE is sweet. Love won't leave you miserable if you choose the right person. First & second attempt was enough. There's no Witt in going back to the person who already hurt you twice. He should have marriage Min Se, & have a family with her.. happy ending for everyone. Something that should have been a great movie ended up being a disaster. The ending of this movie drained my energy. My rating is 2/100.

Ad Aug 16 2023 11:09 pm What a rollercoaster ride. It was fun and energetic in the beginning, then romance, and then it got dark and gloomy. A rollercoaster of emotion, if you like sad and deep romantic shows, this is it! It had me on the edge of my seat wanting just a bit more. I'm surprised, this has a low rating.

This has been an entertaining series for me, haven't seen one like this type of story in a while. A good break out of the cycle of your typical melodrama shows. Love it! 95/100

Esom was good- dis a good job of a weak character girl. No personality of her own. Liked the Doctor actor -

Chip Jul 21 2023 7:04 am Just watched "The 3rd Charm." Esom's acting was world class and all the other leading roles were extraordinary as well! Esom has amazing emotional range - puts her up there with Son Ye-Jin and other top Korean actresses. This should have had a second season. If she was acting in the U.S. her performance should have won an Oscar. It was that great. She can carry any series and I hope she gets many more top roles! I first saw her in "Because This Is My First Life"one of my all time favorite series but her acting has even improved over the great supporting job she did in that one. Also, the writing, directing and cinematography were the best! More like this please! Yes it is emotionally draining to watch but that is what is done in the very best dramas and features. Keep on!!!

FL tried I guess but ended up breaking up with the nicest man. Although he cried at the drop of a hat , you couldn’t help but like him and couldn’t help wishing she would lighten up they would finally get together. I made it thru episode 10 and didn’t want to watch him with anyone else so I had to stop. I fast forwarded to the last episode and realized they still went there separate ways ?.

But I had to stop watching after the 9th episode because it seemed like the lead was going to dump her boyfriend for the sleaze ball doctor who kept throwing himself at her. I just could not……??

lee Dec 30 2020 3:39 pm To be honest this drama wasn´t really my piece of cake... At first I started to like the drama but as I went on watching the storyline really started to annoy me. The relationship between JY ans YJ was really toxic and as we saw the effort only came from one side which lead to an unhealthy relationship they always fought and then make up again and that repeated the whole time I didn´t liked it. And I also disliked the character of YJ, after breaking up she had a happy family with the doctor and JY the one who made efforts in their relationship suffered. And now after her daughter died and she got divorced she´s back in JY´s life when he´s about to get married with someone who gives him the love he deserves.. I wished that JY and SE ended up together.

What if their daugther didn't die? She will be happy like nothing happened while OJY looked for healing his heart?

I also didn't see him with SE because she was sort of empty of personality. You could tell she shaped her personality around what others wanted to see and they were just too alike.

Everyone pairs up and finds happiness & love. JY & YJ have twins by accident (they got drunk one fun night & fate took its course;), the persimmon tree bears sweet fruit for the first time as they fall pregnant. They get married in a hurry, their families think it's funny & adorable, & then they are crazy busy with the twins, work & living happily ever after. They all have a wonderful life ♥

Ange Apr 21 2020 12:59 am This drama is actually quite nice. Amidst all the fantasy and thrilling dramas, the third charm has a sense of reality. Although the drama is fictional, the story is special and shows the reality of relationships. Things don’t always work as planned, but we still have to keep going on. JY and YJ are both amazing people that care deeply for each other, they aren’t selfish. The way I see it, they care for each other very much, but they both just show their care differently. This is the kind of drama that doesn’t make you hate anyone in particular. All the characters had so much growth, and once you hear the stories of the characters, you’ll find yourself understanding them. It’s not YJ’s fault that JY and SE broke their engagement because JY knew that he couldn’t truly love SE. The open ending is also a nice touch because the viewer can interpret their own ending to the drama. At the end of the day you get to learn that you don’t need marriage to be happy, companionship and support is enough.

The actors and actresses are really amazing and talented!! They were able to perfectly execute the personality of their characters and this drama really moved me.

Sometimes there are those people who have situations like joon young and young jae. The secenes are too cute. All the actors and actress have their own charms that melt our hearts in every scene they star. Big appreciation to everyone involved

Well if you're someone who've gone the same feeling well I bet you can really silently relate. Yah I agree this represents a reality. Not everytime there is a happy ending. BTS Fan on the making Aug 01 2019 3:08 pm This is a really really good drama for those who want reality wise story. This is what will most likely to happen if it were to happen in real life. This is a very rare storyline for kdramas as opposed to many kdramas that I go saying “that man doesn’t exist in real world” or “that thing happens 1 in a million or almost never”. I cried a lot, laugh a lot. I can’t compliment this enough. I’m satisfied with how it ends. I mean if it was ended differently I would really be disappointed. This is refreshing and the actors are damn great. They’re versatile.

README BEFORE COMPLAIN Apr 09 2019 6:05 pm SPOILERS. I know there's many of you feel not satisfied about the ending... but I myself think it's the best ending for storyline like that.

I tell you why. Imagine it like this. If JY marry SE, truthfully SE will be the most pitiful victim. They maybe married, but JY will not love her wholehearterly, maybe for the rest of their life. And once they got children, it will be hard to end the suffer and the relationship will be very toxic.

But, if JY end up with YJ, i think there's more bad impact than good impact, at least for the present time. For example, first, JY's family most likely are dislikes YJ, and going throught the relationship without family support will be very toxic. Second, if JY and YJ being couple again, there's bo guarantee that they will not be fight anymore. How if they fight, and still can't find a wise way to fix it? Then it will be such a waste. The devil circle will not end.

But the thing is, their feeling about each other is never lost. It's fucking last, maybe last forever. And no one can fix, nor subtitute it, except they end it, really really end the feeling by themselves.

So, the open ending like that is the best and the portion is right. As for me, I will just believe there's happy ending eventually. I think it will suit them if they decide to married at age of 45 and over, and promise to take care and accompany each other until their lives end. With child or no child is no problem.

But first thing first, they should be happy with themselves, dealing with the past, learn how to make up a fight without easily choose a break up. Even if it's just a fiction, i hoping the best for them, or for the real couple in Earth that went through the similar problem like them.

It's not for you that want to watch some cute relationship, not for you that want to watch something just for fun, not for you that have a mindset where relationship in drama/movies should ended happily, with the lead roles being lovers or get married.

This drama reminds me of the ending of Wong Kar Wai's several movies, and Sofia Coppola's "Lost in Translation" ending. The ending isn't left hanging, it's left open for readers to interprete it by their own way. That's fair. That's realistic. That's life.

Beware before watching. If you intend to watch something that light, less conflict cute-dreamy-love-relationship, this drama is to harsh for you.

Some people say that JY didn't really like SE ..If he did not really like her then why on earth did he propose?! That part is not just understandable ..Okay ..He proposed to her then because he was being swayed by his first love he let go of SE who had been with him for 4 years. ..Obviously the main casts where not meant to end up with any other person ..Why on earth will he dump her close to their marriage time because of his indecisive and selfish self? .(Then they made SE to say she's letting go of the relationship first so it will make the whole story look better but it didn't)

The drama showed me that JY didn't love YJ (towards the end) That was PITY ..He mistook PITY for remaining feelings ..If she had showed up and she was doing well ..JY wouldn't have left SE (That's a real fact)and that wouldn't have made sense(because it's a drama)..So what is the lesson? Is it that guys should dump their soon to be wives because they still feel something like pity for their ex?It's not even as if SE was bad in the drama ..If she was then I'ld have said Karma did it's work but no.

They would have only made JY and SE date and they would have made it to be like the love between them was little so if he was leaving her..it would have made more sense, less painful and more realistic

They would have also they would have made it clearer if JY still had feelings for YJ because to me they made it feel like he mistook PITY FOR LOVE

They would have made the main guys less SELFISH and lots more!♡

And the writers must be feminist that is why they promote the saying the a "playboy makes a better husband than a decent man who will always love their first love", this is absolute trash talk, this will only mind conditioned women to gravitate to such types of men and lead their life into turmoil. Women like Young-Jae will never be completely happy it's their karma since they always violate the ethics of relationship, they are always on the lookout for a better man, such that they will move from one man to another, always not satisfied. Men like Ho-Chul will always be in a prey on woman in a relationship since he ravish even woman despite knowing that he can not be a better man, he cannot wait for his turn, his motto is to win and to prove himself.

Flower Jan 20 2019 12:54 pm -EDIT- I decided to watch the drama because of seo kang joon; i know he'd do well in the drama and i know that he'd give justice to his character. And i am never wrong tho. It is a great drama. I almost dropped the drama at episode 4 because i wasn't able to see where the storyline was leading but i am grateful that i decided to watch it till the end. The story keeps on getting better afterwards. To me, this is a story mainly about Joon Young; his search and discovery of his self-identity. I like how the story is different from many other kdramas where the female lead is always the pathetic one, giving their all in relationships. I like the trigerring event that leads to the first climax of the story (JY and YJ didn't fall out of each other bcs of a 3rd person; it's bcs YJ's love changed- and even tho we might see YJ as the selfish one here, we can't deny the fact that it's realistic). I hated YJ at some points bcs everything begins with her (she took the 1st step but dumped JY when they were 20, acted like nothing happened when they met at 27 years old, also the one who wanted to break up the 2nd time and selfishly moved on with HC). I hated her bcs of those reasons. But after some time, i find myself starting to understand her actions. But still, it wasn't fair for JY who had been giving his all in their relationship (this is my opinion on their 2nd encounter & relationship).

I agree with some comments that it is obvious that JY doesn't love SE. And honestly, I believe that maybe JY sees himself in SE (her sincerity and effort for JY) and that's why he gets into the relationship. But then again, I understand why JY decides to end things with SE and goes back to YJ. Just like when they met at 27, JY realizes that YJ was in huge pain and the fact that he didn't know that YJ was suffering greatly breaks his heart into pieces. That is when he realizes that there is a tiny bit called love left deep inside his heart for YJ (just like the lyrics of one of the OST, Maybe We Are). I was quite disappointed with the ending tho bcs i expected a happy ending after all the things that both of them had gone through. But i guess it is a beautiful, bittersweet ending after all. They love each other but they know what's the best for them at the moment; staying by each other's side and comforting each other (and that is the 3rd charm of their love story). To the team of The Third Charm, thanks a lot for the good drama :) :(

Ps : this story reminds me of a lesson that i learned from my last relationship; things will slowly start to crumble when you start doubting your partner (and that's why trust is important in relationships)

Seriously my thought was mindblown of how great they portrayed the reality of the relationships that is so realistic its amazing. Even though some may not like the ending very well,, I think that the writer is a very open person being able to understand such hardships and they chose these amazing actors with such chemistry its astonishing!! This is a drama that really warms the heart of the people who has gone through such situations in their lifes too. This drama is a charm itself.

intl Jan 01 2019 10:08 pm Pass. I love KSJ but this drama just ran in circles. He misunderstands. She misunderstands. They literally got together and broke up again in every episode.Then it progresses and they focus on themselves (god finally), just for YJ to call back to him crying. It's infuriating to see how selfish and dumb they both are. Its obvious that YJ had a rough time but it was her decision to move on with HC so how is it that she still relies on JY when she knows he's moving on?? Same way around, my guy JY has been in a 4 year relationship and with just one call, he's able to flip it upside down? Yikes. That hard cut on SE's after story was also terrible. I wish we got an end to her side rather than just a cry. The ending wasn't terrible, because I understand why SE would end the relationship and why JY and YJ didn't get back together (thank god) but like damn is JY dumb for coming back around...

I still think they love each other in the end though, but it was maturity that stopped them from moving on to another romantic relationship. Before they have to love others, they had to love and find their selves first, only then will they be ready to give and accept love. Who knows, they might cross paths again for the 4th time and maybe by that time, their relationship will work. Kudos to the whole team for making a wonderful drama. I will definitely have a hard time getting over this.

And they(the production team) simply kill her role as we expected. Anyway, one thing to be sure, guy never settle for their first love. If they never settle shouldn’t they be more care during their first love and make things work out. If they cant, then they should move on. After all, this is a writers who is responsible to penned a brilliant short melodrama Like A Fairy tale.

People mistakenly label this drama as a romance drama between Joon Young and Young Jae. The reason is the tittle It's self. The third charm. Just like which has been promoted, The audiences expecting It means the third time they are meet, it somehow will make their love story eventually work. But It's not . It's not about them overcome their difference.

It's also not about fate love , true love, or whatever. The tittle is misleading. The poster is misleading. It's not about their love story. It's about Joon Young's journey, or every character in this drama about find the meaning about love. I indicate that, the third charm means Is the third party as the charm. I realize how the third party always playing a big part into character turning point. Make they eventually realize about something.

In SHort, I think I should warn first and foremost, this drama is not for a casual viewers who has a faint heart. Because let's admit it, it's a melodrama, done right. It needs for attention detail to understand the meaning behind character action, and looking for what it is. I think you should stay away with this drama if you aren't get used to a character who take unlikeable decision. Which explain the low rating this drama gets.

JY wanted the island life but is now headed to cosmopolitan New York. Searching for happiness and not getting it twice. I guess the finale is the Third Charm because they both found a satisfying "friendship" end. SE was the nice girl who got dumped. Perhaps JY learned how to be cold from YJ. JY's sister took the dominant role and her significant other was the irritatingly needy one. Feminism takes a stronger role in K-dramas. About time.

The boy shocked goes on an unnecessary so called soul searching , meanwhile the girl marries the douche bag , has a child , lived happy until a she lost her child , her life lost meaning so is her marriage , i guess her future was to have a child not a married life.The boy gets a gift of live in form of a lovely girl who loves him and will cherish every gesture he would have made , he seems into her and even proposed , which is known to be promise and we know that that man can't take such action lightly, the boy has moved on. Robert Nov 14 2018 7:06 pm I understand both sides of the argument whether YJ should be vilified or that she had deep emotional problems that JY, in his immaturity, could not or would not empathize with. SE has her own insecurities that has now cast a shadow over her relationship with JY. Perhaps due to the emotional baggage the main and supporting characters have it might be best if none of them end up with each other. Nevertheless, if there has to be resolved relationship I would vote for a JY - SE happy ending. What bothers me is if YJ's daughter had not tragically died, YJ would have continued her life happily married and with her career flourishing. She would have had it all with scant thoughts for JY.

In my opinion the writers's did two big mistakes: 1. Having the story almost solely told from the male lead's POV (Ms. Hammurabi did the same), the story would've been 1000% better if it was equal. 2. Only the female lead and her family/friends have to suffer. JY is only butthurt because of his first love, poor guy. ?

She's a complicated girl. The guy was extremely jealous because she didn't reject the other guy who chased her and she blamed him for that impulsive jealousy. But in the end his jealousy were right cuz the two ended together somehow. Joon Young did his best for her but she did nothing for him. Despite the tragedy that happened to Young Jae and her ex husband I want to say that this is karma. You two nearly destroyed his life.

Nobody Nov 12 2018 1:38 am I know that love has not a reason and depend on time-period. Anyhow, writes should to have a reason and concern to real-life situation, they should not push the burden to audiences to think and connect any clues by themselves.

After episode 10, I confuse what are the writers want to express to audiences. They should to tell to audiences why YJ quit JY and ended up with Doctor, got a child, divorce and go back to meet JY.

It is unfair for SE the next fiance of JY, if writers need JY break-up SE due to YJ is now single and desperate. Although, JY less love SE than YJ, but their currently conditions are mess, strictly and point of no return to YJ !!!

PS. I am sure JY love SE not only flow, due to the last episode JY's Organizer, JY's said to SE "Go to Portugal after we get marry" and JY's said to YJ via telephone "We should not...".

In my opinion, "The Third Charm" it currently means third chance only to get a friendship (ex-lover) but not husband-wife till to the last time.

Have you noticed the writers gave us all the events in JY life after they broke up, but we are just getting a few of YJ’s events. Like, how did she end up with the doctor? She had turned him down before her break up. Also, why did they get a divorce? Why are we supposed to assume it was all because of the death of their child and drinking. Why did she end up abroad? It would be nice if we could get all of her story like the writers so graciously gave up JY’s story.

Never doubt Kang Joon and Esom are great actor and actress. I love cute nerdy JY, so hilarious. ??? 27th JY also cute, handsome but has a lack of confidence. And last 32nd JY definitely grown up, 1000x more handsome, mature and charming...

YJ is also cute and sweet in the begining, then become more prettier at 27th. But at 32nd i really hate her character... So tired of YJ's bad luck and sad stories...

The first time when they broke up, it was nobody's fault but rather the situation must be put to blame. However, the second time, it was all YJ's fault. And JY didn't deserve to be heartbroken like that. And YJ was completely happy with the Doctor. Had their first child was alive, she would've been happy with the Doctor. She missed JY but only from time to time. But after episodes 11-14, the story has taken a huge turn. Now, JY is the YJ in his relationship with the Cop lady, and she is the older JY. I know that they shouldn't end up together but I'm sure the main leads will end up together in the end. Why? Because no matter what, JY cannot let go of YJ. And now, YJ is single and needs him. I think they'll both be happy by only returning back to each other. And i know, YJ did bad to JY but i think she has paid enough for her mistake and guilt. And JY also wants to return back to her. That's why, it's a Third Charm. The Third Chance. I feel sad for the Cop lady and she deserves a happy ending as well but even she knows in her heart that JY doesn't love her. I'm sorry but i don't support her with JY. It's just a survival relationship for JY. And he cares for her but there is no chemistry, no passion. He's just going with the flow. So, i feel sad for her but i hope she doesn't end up with him.

Just by reading the reactions, comments, debates, arguments in this site alone one can tell that this drama is creating such a big wave among the audience and this indicates a high rate of interest that everyone is tuned and hooked as to how the story will flow - ends. Thus this means SUCCESS because this drama is ALIVE! What-ever happens, Where-ever this drama goes, However it concludes, Who-ever gets to end up together or who-ever gets to be separated, whether we like it or not ... we all have vested our precious time, emotions and selves and we were entertained = disappointed or not we all have stayed and followed and watched.

The writer must be very good in creating broken, unique, flawed characters that we all noticed their existence. They made her character so stupid into marrying jerk guy and then randomly a baby. I still root for JY&YJ. SE is sweet and weird, too much in common may not always indicate a good relationship, tbh their scenes are so boring. This drama was good in the beginning and then it just went sour.

for2things Nov 09 2018 1:12 pm People wanting JY to go after YJ claiming she loves him , she broke his heart in more than one occasion, married another man , non other than the douche-bag she told JY she has nothing to do with him but in fact encouraged him to pursue her, had his child and from what we could see was very happy (she pursued her happiness and nobody should hold that against but on the other hand don't say she loves JY) , she lost her child (i guess if you lose your child in all movies/series this days is equivalent to Driking/Drug abuse and marriage death). She suffered and she should be able to find peace again relying on her family/friends and let JY be one of those friends if you want to call it that (I guess he became a chef to give comfort food to the people - his own reasoning) , but what romance concerns there isn't an ounce of it in this story line so far.

Has anyone notice that Young Jae is the 3rd girl to appear when Joon Young was waiting for his blind date? And the drama also has 3 main couples, JYxYJ, SJxJR and SHxRW. Fate brings Joon Young to Young Jae to help her be happy and vice versa, Young Jae has hurted him deeply but it was unintentional and she only does what she thinks is best for him, because that time, she is slowly changing and keeping secrets from Joon Young, she thought Joon Young doesn't deserve that, hence the reason why she broke up with him, because she feel like she's not good enough. Now the unexpected twist happened after 5 years, Young Jae is now a divorcee after failing marriage with Ho Chul and losing their child :( and Joon Young engaged to Se Eun. These are the times where Young Jae needs to hold onto someone to show her light in the darkness and Joon Young is that person. I know some people say she took Joon Young for granted, maybe at certain points but not always, in fact she doesn't want that to happen because she love him, so she break things up with him. Now we'll get to see how the third time is really the charm. Proves we should keep trying and never stop giving up, also staying true to our feelings so we'll have no regrets in life. The drama started out as lighthearted and fun, turned into something addicting, them frustrating, heart breaking and healing.. this drama is a hidden gem, if only could people see its true worth. Salute to everyone part of this drama especially to SEO KANG JOON and ESOM. They are very versatile actors. Super recommended 1000000000000+/10 ^_^

Now she is coming back with a more pitiful story, I wonder if she'll go back to Joon Young if things didn't go bad for her? I feel like she's only coming to him everytime she's depressed or suffering, hope she can finally appreciate him and not take him for granted..

I also love Joon Young's character development, he matured a lot, on their 2nd reunion he called him "horrible witch" for dumping him, and on their 3rd reunion, despite also not knowing the full reason, he just smiled at her and controlled his tears

No name Nov 05 2018 4:05 am we can't choose who will we fall far... same goes to joon young who fall hard for young jae even though he knows obviously that young jae characters is the opposite from him ( they explained it in the beginning of the episode when they met for the first time).

And I kind of understand young jae that ask for break up, cause she know that she'll hurt him more ( she obviously know that she cant give up anything for name such love).

And after their broke up.. I think they both moving on the same time.. joon young and se eun in LDR for 4 years young jae and doctor married and had daughter aroung 4 years old it meant that they moving on the same time , because the drama show joon young struggle more that make us angry with young jae.

I admit young jae kind of selfish but heyy that's her ( really show the character ).

I dont know how will this drama end.. but I am with them to the end.

Though It's fine to have JY be with the cop, I can see some insecurities and uncertainties in their relationship. And for YJ and HC, I don't really see any love. JY's reaction is very different from HC and YJ's reaction when they saw each other.

We already saw JY's 5yrs. Let's look forward to YJ's and see what really happened.

Btw, That child is still a mystery, its age can be between 3-5yrs so we don't really know who's the father.

Yes, Youngjae is selfish but STILL he loves Joonyoung the most. Youngjae matured herself because of her brother. She works really hard because she's the head of household but Joonyoung became a police because of Youngjae. Their motivations are different and of course the way of them seeing the world are different. At first, I never believe with rejection of "you are too good for me" but this drama proved it. Joonyoung is too good for Youngjae but that doesn't mean they don't deserve to be together when both of them love each other. Still cheering for happy ending both of them, I believe they'll find the light soon.

Joon Young is maturing but has too great a lack of confidence and self-respect. His comfort zone and life style goals do not match with Young Jae. He does a lot for her out of love and need for approval with little in return. Young Jae has had a taste of the limelight and success and it is the doctor that can give her the prestige to offset her current diminishing lack of confidence and lead to the rich life style she desires. Young Jae and the doctor are two of the most selfish characters that I have seen in Kdramas over the years and deserve each other. Joon Young should connect with someone who will return the love that he so generously gives and leave Young Jae who takes him for granted.

They thought the countryside is boring and anything else, the latest episode show the big difference between her and Joon Young, and it showed how Joon Young loved her more maybe that's why she kept on thinking and look bothered. I think on the last ep JoonYoung was tearful not because he was jealous but because he can feel that Young Jae will leave him...

I love this drama Oct 26 2018 10:21 am Very interesting.. joon young is the type who will fix a radio cause it has sentimental value, young jae is the type who will buy a new one to make things easier. joon young thinks living in a countryside with the one you love will be nice and young jae thinks it will still be boring, but joon young said if she prefers to live the city, then he's okay with it as long as she is happy and they are together, i think on joon young likes young jae very much that he can give up those he like for her, but i think young jae since she's a realist is starting to doubt that their relationship won't go long cause of their differences? maybe she also feel undeserving of joon young and blame herself for seeing ho chul. Love this drama i will watch til the end thanks.

third charm ❤ Oct 24 2018 4:22 am i dont know why theres a lot negative comment about Young Jae character. i know, many people here feel young jae feels not big as well joon young, and theres people doesnt like it because its feels slow. i have resemblance with young jae character and this story ( little ) because i have long term relationship, about 10years and i have same condition with those character. my boyfie character just like joon young, sensitive, and so on and he likes to show his love through text etc and i prefer touch i love the developing character of main character. i know well why young jae more realistic through relationship. she never saw a love through parents nor his brother with his lover (dont know they seperate because the accident or how) but i doesnt feel bothered with young jae like that i really loved all the ost, the plot and all i hope this drama receive many many love since this plotline i think so realistic.

It's refreshing to see her in this new kind of role and I knew the moment she will step in, people will ship her character with Seo Kang Joon cause they both look youthful compared to Esom and Min Woo Hyuk who looks more matured. Am I also the one who feel like Young Jae doesn't love Joon Young the same way he loves her? I mean looking at the amount of texts she has received from him, cheering her on for her interview and pictorial, compared to when she knew Joon Young will be on a dangerous stakeout, he even called her to say how nervous he is, yet it seems like she has forgotten about it when she came rushing to see THAT doctor? She also PUT ASIDE reading her brother Soo Jae's script just to see that doctor, yet she CAN'T made one call to check on what happened on Joon Young's mission? She's also the last person to realize he is in a hospital, even his best friend Sang Hyun came first. IDK if this continues, I'll probaby lose my sympathy for Young Jae, and I'll start rooting for Se Eun. Who knows if the third time's charm will work with a different person? After 2 failed relationships with the same person ^^ Also the reason why THAT doctor hasn't given up on Young Jae is because she hasn't clearly shut him down. GIRL you have an absolutely caring boyfriend. Don't go with a doctor who uses his past wounds to get your symphaty and also he's a guy who knew you have a boyfriend, so cocky to think what he is doing is right..

But I do think YJ is going to get a bit insecure esp since seeing her boyfriend treat someone else like a 'princess'. However, I do have to say the chemistry with YJ with Officer Min is really really good . . . like them simply bonding over food (which the show is probs going to show does not mean direct soulmates) was so adorable - even more than the premise of the show.

Because the beginning of this drama was really sweet and eye catching, continue to episode by episode was really boring. It's like Predictable. But I won't talk much I will wait for the ending episode. And I also hope this show isn't like something in the rain (I compare) that I stop watching at eps 10. Look for the great storyline forward :)

Moreover, I really like the chemistry of both the male n female lead player nd the supporting roles <3

You saw your gf with another guy who you know has feelings for her, and when he opened up how he really feels to young jae, young jae came up with "why are you calling him jerk" instead of saying "trust me i don't like him" so it provoke joon young more, hey that's actually what he's so sensitive about, i don't mean to say he is right but cmon, he wouldn't go overboard if you know the right thing to say, you just keep on adding to his suspicions. Now imagine if young jae will pick ho chul, joon young will think it's his fault again, young jae always makes him feel bad abot himself and always practicing guilt trip and playing victim. In this situation, I think it's best for them to break up. can we skip to the 32 year old version of them? But overall, great drama and portrayals :D

1. The doctor is annoying and he keeps on following Young Jae despite knowing she has a bf 2. Young Jae and Joon Young loves each other but they think of themselves more. Young Jae can't even understand Joon Young and keep on doing things that would further hurt him, although she didn't intend it, she should be more careful on his feelings. Joon Young, who's jealous, given that the sequence of the scenes help to further raise suspicions, but still he should trust Young Jae. I wish he would have more self confidence too

I thiink this drama will be good to bingewatch, my heart hurts because of their misunderstandings. I know they love each other but considering this is the first relationship and they are opposites, it'll be a tough battle

To those who haven't WATCHED YET, prepare yourselves emotionally, this is drama is one roller coaster ride, you'll laugh till you teared up on one episode and on the next you'll have your heart broken

But I wouldn't mind seeing Young Jae and Ho Chul, although I'll be bitter for Joon Young, and it will prove that his suspicions and jealousy is reasonable. But my mind is fixed on Gongseo couple, their chemistry is the best, I hope to see them again someday

honey Oct 13 2018 8:02 pm the story is good. i love the cast but then the ending of every episodes so far, is vague. it feels like you dont want to watch the next episode since the scene you're watching is kinda off with the ending. it's like i'm always waiting for something good to happen but then the ending scene always makes me feel it will never come. and it is annoying. just change every flow of the ending and it's all good! make us look forward for the next episode instead of leaving us hanging and in a very bad mood for not having an ending that will make our day complete and satisfied. and please, Kindly Extend The Episodes! thanks

Joon Young is supposed to be sensitive even on small things that's why I get where his jealousy and insecurity is coming from =( I hope these will make the 32 year old version of them stronger, most heartbreaking episode along w/ ep 2, and i noticed the parallels, how So Hee and a misunderstanding is involved again. But this time it's Joon Young who avoids Young Jae. This drama is very intriguing, hope the ratings will rise again

I don't know if it's the actors that are too strong (talent-wise) for these roles or the characters are written/directed too shallow and weak. I just can't feel a great chemistry between them yet. But it's only been 4 episodes so let's see how it goes. Totally love On family though.

He is obviously not just has a super handsome face, but he really is can act. The gesture, facial ekspressions, the way he talks and his voice as a nerd so on point. Feel so sad when he cried cos breakup with young jae.

Eventhough i'm in love with tincan couple and a bit dislike esom (sorry), but after watched the 2 first episode, i really dont mind her with kang joon. She is a great actress too.

They both can potrayed the characters very well. Just enjoy the show so much. Definitely must watch!!

AyaD Oct 06 2018 10:52 pm Not a great drama. The first 2 episodes were cool, but now I don't even understand were it's heading to. What's the plot ? Two people liking each other ? Ehhh... that's the base of almost all kdramas ! Some scenes are unnecessary, and the acting is so-so, which is disappointing because I used to like the main actors. Not sure I understand the editing flow either. When most of the time you wonder why the editor chose to put one scene next to another, that's no good. I shouldn't even notice the editing if it was well done... You can't just put frames afters frames and expect it to make a story ! I'll pass on this one. Don't want to waste my time.

I like the 1st 2 episodes and will be here for the long haul. I was hesitant about Esom, but she is doing great as well and I really like her in this role.
