Yongcheonru is the grandest guesthouse in Joseon. Their motto is that the customer is the king. Yeongcheonru has four new interns and they have their own reasons why they work there.

Lee Eun (Bae In-Hyuk) is actually a Joseon prince, but he hides his identity and begins to work at Yongcheonru as an intern using the alias of Lee Eun-Ho. Hong Deok-Su (Kim Ji-Eun) is a woman, but she disguises herself as a man. Her goal is to become the general manager of Yongcheonru and starts working there as an intern. Cheon Jun-Hwa (Jung Gun-Joo) is the successor of Yongcheonru. He doesn't have any interest in running Yongcheonru, but he is forced to work as an intern there by his father. Ko Su-Ra’s (Jae Chan) family has been on the decline for a while now. In order to rebuild his family, he begins to work as an intern at Yongcheonru. His goal is to be promoted to an employee permanently. While working at Yongcheonru, these 4 interns share experiences and become friends.

Morg Feb 18 2025 9:02 am The build up was so great during the first few episodes which got me hooked, but the latter episodes were just lame. Only stuck with it due to Jung Gun Joo.

Hana Feb 13 2025 4:46 am This drama should have ended at 12 episodes because it has been dragging since episode 9. We already know the rest of the story and can predict the entire plot. So, 16 episodes seem a bit too much. However, episodes 1-6 were really fun to watch.

Linda Jan 27 2025 10:35 am The drama started off strong, but it quickly became predictable and clichéd. I'm surprised it stretched to 16 episodes. I think it would have been better if it had ended around 10 or 12 episodes; it felt quite drawn out towards the end.

I'm going to miss Bae In Hyuk's dimples though coz am dropping it now and wait till episode 16. I hope he gets to play a more interesting character in his next project.

They should have stayed discreetly under the radar and plan revenge instead off boldly and nonchalantly strut into the beast's lair even when her father had warned her to stay away.

Monday Jan 13 2025 6:50 pm I enjoy watching this drama series and the interactions among the four interns as they value their friendships. All of them play their roles well. Kim Ji-Eun fits well into her role, whether dressed as male or female. I like charming and elusive look of Kim Min-Jung. I've watched almost all Jung Gun-Joo's dramas; he's cool, kind, and funny, making him one of my favorites! Look forward to the rest of the episodes.

Hahahah Jan 13 2025 1:13 am After watching the latest episode I feel like Seol mae-hwa is not the villain, first is she already knew that hong deok su is jae on but she didn't kill her or report her that minsik daughter is back. Maybe Seol mae-hwa has a dark secret why she had to stabbed jae on father in order to keep her position.

Remember that Seol mae-hwa got a housekeeper in minsik house in case jae on/deok su comes back. Mae hwa have a chance to kill or kidnap deok su but mae hwa did not do it.

I was wondering what seol mae hwa trying to hide and still not confessing to deok su before its too late

Erika Dec 01 2024 2:42 pm Are we not tired of writing these same old period gender benders. When I first started kdramas, The Kings Affection was only the second drama I watched (following the incomparable EAW) and it was a beautiful slow burn romance with this unique gender bending concept....

I quickly learned that not only was this concept Not New, but it's used in practically every 3rd period drama I've watched. These writers seem to have good ideas but they start with the same tired cliche of gender bending instead of just telling a good story.

Anywsy, Rant over and I too will be seated for In-Hyuk.

If you want to make drama about women dressing as men, make it convincing enough in terms of appearance. Tbh, Kim Jieun's physical appearance is so feminine, fragile, and soft, so it's not believable at all!
