Crown Prince Yi Gun (Suho) finds himself in trouble when he is kidnapped by a woman named Choi Myung-Yoon (Hong Ye-Ji). Her father, Royal Physician Choi Sang-Rok (Kim Ju-Hun), brokered an agreement with the royal family to have her selected as the Crown Princess, but her father learns through a fortune teller that his daughter will bring catastrophe and become a widow. To avoid the widow's fate for his daughter, Choi Sang-Rok arranges a bossom (kidnapping) that is meant to ward off such bad fortune. Meanwhile, Crown Prince Yi Gun witnesses a shocking scene inside the royal palace between the Queen Dowager (Myung Se-Bin) and a man he could only see from behind. To find out the identity of the man he saw, he sneaks out of the royal palace at night. Through fate, Crown Prince Yi Gun is mistakenly kidnapped.

Jay Oct 21 2024 3:48 pm I don't know why this drama has some bad reviews...but that's fine because as different individuals we see things from different perspectives and have different interests too.

In my own opinion this drama is giving 1000 minus nothing a perfect 100/100....I almost didn't watch it when I read some reviews about it here but then I decided to give it a try.

It's a very interesting drama...if your having doubts about watching I'll suggest you start with the first 5 to 7 episodes if it's not interesting to you then you can stop.

Suho is very handsome guy and has a beautiful smile...I just loved how the drama ended and could not stop watching some clips of the last episodes.

It's a really good drama the cast and crew did a perfect job making their different characters lively and interesting. So for me it's a 100/100

Co Jun 18 2024 8:04 pm I love the lovebond of the kings family. The Crown prince wants to protect their family, the two brothers are always doing everything it takes to protect their family. I love the brolove between the two brothers (two prince's'), even after everything they went through, they still loved each other in the end. it's wonderful to watch a family that's bound with so much love. K-drama series knows how to show love 100% be it romance, they got it, even With little or no sexuality meaning (no too much touching or sexual content) they still got it, Cos They show you Real love & not lust. Be it family love, they got it. Be it brotherly love, they got it.They just make their viewers want to love and be loved. (Pure love is gold) Diamond I mean. Simply put, I Love This Series!! The Ending Is So Good Too.

It's really great that I am so much involved with every charector. Emotional rollercoaster it is.That one episode where crown prince crys out loud oh god the pain I felt ,it still breaks me. Too much angst and too many unfair things main couple goes through. Who ride only thing I was begging is to give happy ending. The Best Ending Ever. I loved crown prince charector ah lot...he is soo king, doesn't want to hurt people who hurt him. Always thinks with calm mind. Hiss sassy and silly sides comes out when he is around his girl. Controlling his anger,hurt, helpless was well portrayed with his eyes Overall I loved it. I miss them now

sammy Jun 17 2024 9:36 am I was skeptical at first considering this is saeguk with 20 episodes. Usually the plot would start to lose its focus in the middle and the last episodes would be just messy ramblings. However I changed my mind. The show has good pace, plot twists within plot twist and good characterisations making it very enjoyable to watch.

I also love how Suho and Yeji portrayed the main leads. As relatively new comers, they did well! I love to see how love bloomed between them and surely their characters deserved the happy ending.

I decided to watch this drama because I was bored and wanted to watch a ongoing drama, so I started watching it when episode 6 was released and I didn't even imagine that would be my top 1 kdrama. I literally became addicted to this drama. I would finish watching the episodes within 2 hours of them being released. This drama is so criminally underrated!! I saw the last episode yesterday night, And It Was So Heartwarming And Heart Fluttering!!! I still can't get over this drama and maybe I will not be able to, for this month at least. I Feel So Empty!! ???

I really cannot understand the queen dowager and her lover cause so much pain towards innocent just because of their scandal? Seriously? people had greed over power or money. Yet the both do it because of scandal issue? Its damn embarrassing. Their age added up maybe 100 yrs old? behave like some teenage love story? Kdrama is getting really ridiculous recently.

Alchemist May 31 2024 5:33 pm Agree with @Bob. Writers trying too hard to humanize the depraved lovers. I'm simply not buying it. Dowager got her revenge on the old king, which was somewhat justified. Everything after that is pure villainy. I have an ominous feeling the writers are thinking "oh, but they were in love" & will give them a happy ending instead of horrible deaths that they deserve.

Just keep aside all that mental gymnastics and call them what they are - evil & despicable. Hope the real Crown Prince Yi Gun will dismiss all the Queen Dowager's eunuchs and maids including those ministers who were involved in disposing of or killing him soon.

Sasha May 06 2024 2:00 am Watch and wait, historical dramas have their well balanced plot. Most of the time there is a power hungry polititian and a nasty Queen Dowager going agains the King. However, if you are not a fan of historical Kdrama, don't watch. As for the 'same' costumes, they are based on the real Joseon era garments, the same goes for hair styles, jewellery, set etc. Young female lead actress Hong Ye-Ji is something really special. I watched '2037' and 'A Love Song for Illusion' and was stunned by her performance. I think we will see many projects with her in the future and I am looking forward to watching them.

Choi Sang-Rok is stupid to believe his master Geo-Woo to change his daughter's destiny, so kidnaps the Crown Prince and plan for his daughter to marry the Crown Prince's half-bro Prince Dosung. Therefore, Health Minister Choi and Queen Dowager are also not good people.

I can say the grand mother actually a good person, but she's blind for love. The health minister also a good person, but he's going crazy to change his daughter destiny. Exol Apr 26 2024 1:05 pm The Queen Dowager is a "grandmother" as for the commoner to call it. In this drama, she is not the real grandmonther of the crown prince. She is one of the wives of the late king. When the late king and the real queen or 1st wife died, their son, ascend the throne as the current king (father of the crown prince) and she automatically toke the crown as Queen Dowager. That's why it's easy for her to say to kill the crown prince over her secret lover.

The princes/crown princes(and princesses)are always in danger(even from their own families). There is always someone in the court or royal family trying to manipulate the king. There is typically an identity mix-up, or secret identity. There can be only so many takes on this theme. And, the same costume? These costumes are based on historical royal garb of specific eras(please...they're not copying D.O.). If you don't have the patience to let the drama play out or the attention span to see the difference in the plot, then stop watching it.

Why would you want to kill your own son over a secret love affair??? To me it's really unbelieveable. I didn't expect this plot and I'm a little disappointed.

Someone before said that the queen dowager and the king acting is awkward, I'd have to say, I totally agree.

Overall I liked the romance between the ML and FL and the support characters are good and funny, but I don't see how they're gonna develop the storyline for 20 episode.

Happy98 Apr 15 2024 4:42 am Got traumatized because EXO's member oftentimes died in every project they were in. After saw the second episode, I couldn't believe Suho will die that fast. Many of actors that I've never seen anywhere play in this drama, but they play so good rather than mostly newbie that sudden become main lead. I love how the music detector set the scene to become more dramatic, the camera angle should be better than this!!! Interactive and magical angle would help to hype the drama. I love how the dialog in every scene not too long, it's help a lot to understand the situation by movement rather than theory and dialog. Can't wait for the next episodes. Fighting

I know a lot of fans were not so happy about Female Lead, but don't worry actors Hong Yeji is a great person who knows how to create a peaceful vibes, not only in screen but also in real life. She debut not long ago in a heartwarming movie called '2037' in 2022, her first drama is 'A Love Song for Illusion' starring with Park Ji-hoon. As I said before, you can rest assured about her role, acting and personality. If the drama aren't so good then it's is the director or writer or. I don't know if Suho will pull up her acting or not. To find out the identity of the man he saw, he sneaks out of the royal palace at night. Through fate, Crown Prince Yi Gun is mistakenly kidnapped.
+Crown Prince Yi Gun ([[Suho]]) finds himself in trouble when he is kidnapped by a woman named Choi Myung-Yoon ([[Hong Ye-Ji (2002)|Hong Ye-Ji]]). Her father, Royal Physician Choi Sang-Rok ([[Kim Ju-Hun]]), brokered an agreement with the royal family to have her selected as the Crown Princess, but her father learns through a fortune teller that his daughter will bring catastrophe and become a widow. To avoid the widow's fate for his daughter, Choi Sang-Rok arranges a bossom (kidnapping) that is meant to ward off such bad fortune. Meanwhile, Crown Prince Yi Gun witnesses a shocking scene inside the royal palace between  the Queen Dowager ([[Myung Se-Bin]]) and a man he could only see from behind. To find out the identity of the man he saw, he sneaks out of the royal palace at night. Through fate, Crown Prince Yi Gun is mistakenly kidnapped.
