Military search troop members, including Koo Dong-Jin (Jang Dong-Yoon) and Son Ye-Rim (Krystal) try to fight against a mysterious creature and struggle to get away from the DMZ. They build camaraderie through their struggle.

Koo Dong-Jin is a sergeant with only a little time left in the army. Son Ye-Rim is an elite officer and she has a secret about her birth.

If you like to watch military dramas with mystery try watching this drama. I watched this because I like Krystal and Jang dong yoon. Anyhow it was really interesting. I finished watching this on 16th of this month.

Park Min Jun 14 2023 12:49 pm It had a decent start setting up the atmosphere. The drama was shot nicely too, try to grab the UXN 4K version if you can. The action was good although it was scarce. There was a lot of downtime between each event which almost ruined the drama. It was clear they had an abundance of free time that they started supplementing it with slice of life/comedic moments which were straight up bad and unfitting. The story wasn't as engaging as it was at the start, it somehow lost its direction midway through. Too many plot holes to count even when excluding the supernatural elements. The drama lacked a meaningful connection between characters. The least you would expect from a military themed drama is some comradeship which this drama failed to show. It's a hard watch since the drama doesn't have much to offer other than a good cast.

Mona Jan 22 2022 6:41 am Normally I am not the fan of horror/thriller/action series, but this one was so good that it hooked me up till the end. All Casts were very good into their roles especially Jang Dong Yoon, actually I just watched The tale of Nokdu that made me keeping on his works. He has the diversified acting skill in various roles. It’s worth to watch this series. Surprised again why this drama was underrated in Korea. This was only thriller/ action drama which didn’t have romantic scenes not even one, the least dramatic I ever watched. By the way, it can extend few more episodes because it’s still exciting to follow the story, too bad it’s end at episode no.10.

iamnobody Nov 10 2021 10:09 pm I don't really like watching dramas from OCN especially suspense/thiller dramas because of toooooooo much dramatization of the sound and maybe because of the Voice series. I stop watching that drama because they spend too much time talking while golden time is running out for the victim and again, toooooo much dramatization of the sound...Ik Ik thats the essence of suspense. But not this one. At first I was skeptical to watch this but I am glad its not same with the Voice. Yes, there is dramatization of the sound but not too much. But I was still curious why the two main lead broke up....And what happen to the their captain.....

rickt Oct 13 2021 6:06 am I had to laugh at the comment telling romcom audience to look elsewhere. It’s like telling people watching Squid Game that the drama isn’t about seafood playing games. Perhaps they were mistaking this Search with Search:WWW, which was indeed a romcom with a completely different cast.

Anyway, this is an underrated action thriller drama. Story, while wasn’t exactly original, had a good enough twist and pacing that kept me engaged throughout. Action scenes were done well with believable effects that wasn’t overly done. Pacing was good, although I felt the final episode was a little rushed with many things packed into it. There were comedy, eyecandy moments, and, yes, even a bit of romance sprinkled throughout the episodes, but it never took the focus away from the original story.

Easily a 10/10 for me. I truly wish many more people get to see this hidden gem!

I trust OCN in this genre because it really delivers. Shout out to the cast, props, CGI effects, etc. Frankly not the best, but it exceeds my expectation. I'm giving it a 9/10!

If you have watched kdrama thrillers then the plot would be somewhat familiar but I got confused as to who was the main host though near the end. Still it was a but dragging in some parts. I didnt laugh in most episodes so... Its thriller/suspense purely. So romcom fans, i suggest you choose other dramas

I hope to see more of the main lead though and krystal and others as well. Still, good job to the team who made this. Thanks

But I can't predict what's gonna happen next in this drama. I love the storyline so much, it made me able to enjoy a zombie/monster series which i can't stand the most.

Plot is already catchy, most of the shoots are really great but then came cgi and ruin everything.

Rider Nov 22 2020 11:19 am Spoiler alert. Sort of a Korean spin on "Predator" except it is happens in the DMZ, with typical Korean family story lines. Actions scenes - good pacing. Krystal was 2 and 0 against her male counterparts in last episode, but editing was brisk enough that when you watch it, you don't think - can she really do this? Also some slow moments in village and camp that sort of drained the intensity. A good horror/sci fi always tries to maintain the tension unless developing character.

There is a possibility of a second season, but I can't imagine what the story line would be. When the father hits the explosives - there is a delay before the explosion. He is super super fast - he might have gotten out.

For just 10 episodes - not bad. I felt like they could have added an addition mutant or obstacle in the way of our protagonists to fill it out.

Ten Nov 18 2020 9:20 pm The drama started off great. I really liked all the characters that were involved and how they contributed to the drama. I know this drama was only 10 episodes, but they could have at least added two more. I felt like the last two episodes were rushed and there was little to no detail about the infection and Yoon Park's character as to why he was the asshole that he became to be (lol). The ending could definitely be an opening ending as it explained how everyone got infected, but they didn't explain the infection well either. For example, the North Korean soldier who was infected and was running away... It wasn't really explained in detail about how he ended up being infected other than the fact that he and his wife were doing an experiment. I was also disappointed on how Krystal found out who she was. It literally was just a letter and certificate... They made it seem like a huge deal in the beginning of the drama and then *BAM. Here you go. This is you type of crap. I just didn't understand that part of the drama. Why make it important if you weren't going to show her being confused and lost about it? It was as if she just accepted it. It made the drama very vanilla. And I must have not been paying attention, but I don't know why Krystal's and Jang Dong Yoon's relationship mattered cos' we really didn't get a good explanation of their breakup either. LMAO. Anyway. Drama started off good and I watched it because of the cast and because I'm a mad Krystal bias mf, but it could have been better if episodes were added.

I love the scenario when dong- jin called his father "appa" then they talk about going home it breaks my heart. I was damn right he was half zombie and half human because he can remember his past..

@Chu is right here in this comment The actors who played Dong Jin and his father are really look alike, really suitable to be father-son characters... I will also add in this comment JANG DONG-YOON and YEON WOO-JIN even when they're smile they look alike.

When I watch dramas, sometimes I skipped on some parts, but I can't do that with this drama because every scene feels important.. (SPOILER) the actors who played Dong Jin and his father are really look alike, really suitable to be father-son characters.. great casts on that point.. I think I just became a fan of Jang Dong Yoon.. I hope that there will be season 2.. still waiting for the relationship between Dong Jin and Ye Rim.. they look cute together..

I would have liked to ep. 16, I want to stay with Dong-jin and Ye-Rim and something will happen to them in the kissing scene. But it did not happen that you hung up too much on the audience. You should recover and increase the episodes.

I think there will be a second season. Either the congressman lives or Song Min Kyu lives. The way he said “our paths are different” is very ominous to me and I don’t think he could have just died. Maybe when the bomb went off Song min Kyu uncovered the place that the substance was and ended up becoming the target.

Its a bit disappointment that the drama is ending soon. It could have been better if there are more episodes. Minnie Nov 08 2020 12:45 pm SPOILERS ...The final target is the host, right? Meaning the substance was directly injected to him. And the other target was the North Korean soldier. So maybe the North Korean soldier injected it to Dong Jin's father to experiment on him that's why YDY's father became the host, the wild dog was also injected but since it had rabies, it mutated and the North Korean got infected because the wild dog bit him. Since they said the host is not affected by rabies, his characteristics are probably quite different from the other target they caught.

I can already feel the heartbreak when Dong- Jin have to kill the last monster.. Because I read some comments that the virus is connected to 1997 sector 21 but the virus only mutated 23 years, how come the virus not evolve right away like in KINGDOM it mutated right away. But this scenario it comes 23 years later... Oh how mysterious is..

(season 2) If so; it would be really great and we won't be sad over the fact that there is only 10 episodes... but if not; aren't 10 episodes not enough? We know that we shouldn't say things like this (because we don't know the full story).., but this drama seems so great.. therefore it maybe dissatisfying to have only 10 episodes if there is only one season. (as I said before)

The whole cast is doing a great job and I’m excited to see how the 1997 story fills in the plot.

Definitely recommend this drama as a must see drama.

Haven Oct 26 2020 8:59 pm I’ve been wondering when or if we’ll see what happened to Jo’s family since the backstory was basically him leading. I’m curious about that because he had a wife and son.

But this drama is excellent. I knew the heartbreaks were coming but boy I was not ready. I can’t wait for episode 6 and up to be released. This is really good storytelling.

Wondering how they would wrap up disclosing all the secrets of the infection and the 1997 tragedy in just 6more episodes. Really curious. Over all drama is going great. Recommended so far.

Mia Oct 25 2020 3:21 pm The zombies weakness seems to be sound. It stopped moving/paralyzed when the crew headphones transmitter was jam. Also I have a feeling the strongest zombie somehow learned how to disguise his self and scent during the day/ night. I think a zombie ate the chickens. Lee Joon seems to be a spy employed to watch over Song min or a assassin. Song Min probably was on trial for letting a team member die or something. It seems in the near future he will cause a lot of deaths or team deaths. He seems to lack empathy for his team members, he seems only focused on getting the target, even if countless members die in the process.

Also, I really think the rabies man in the beginning is the father of Krystal’s character but time will tell.

Also the zombie rabie cape guy in the woods seems to be a ex military dog trainer guy. Leo the dog went straight to him without attacking him and the stray dogs that attack the group didn’t try to attack the zombie rabie cape guy. It seems if the rabies get into you you become a comrade of his.

so at the end of Episode 2... Krystal's character investigates a room where once a dead body was laying on a table, but is not there anymore. then she notices blood on the wall. then she gets attacked by the dead body(who has come back to life and looks extremely infected), and thrown to the floor. her first real reaction is to turn her back on the attacking dead body(now a angry/aggressive infected zombie), and make a phone call?! oh please, let her character make better decisions in future episodes.
