Kang Bit-Na (Park Shin-Hye) is an elite judge with a beautiful appearance, but she is actually a demon. Her mission as a demon is to kill evil people who lead other people to their deaths and don't reflect on their actions and are unforgiven for their actions. She sends these people to Hell afterwards. One day, Kang Bit-Na meets Han Da-On (Kim Jae-Young). He has a friendly and gentle personality. As a detective, his mind is sharp and he has a keen sense of observation. But, internally, he carries pain in his mind that nobody knows about. After Kang Bit-Na and Han Da-On meet with each other, their lives change greatly.

charley Mar 10 2026 12:01 pm i have to agree with some of the comments here that the humanization ruined it for me. im currently on ep 9 and wish they kept her demon for until the end of the series. shes badass as it is why need to soften her character.

She is a psychopath and begins to feel love through lust, which I feel would fit this story line as well. Why be proud when you’re already in hell?

Both leads so good . Natural acting and they gorgeous. Kim Jae Young can play cop , I think he can do super hero, villain or bad boy , vampire …and more . He just has that calm but cool aura . Park is total A lister don’t need more proof about her acting skill.  Love fantasy suspense action drama. I don’t  mind with some blood splatter all over lol .

Hello Feb 05 2025 1:15 am This is definitely a violence and gore series. There's a lot of bloody scenes, bloody faces, even women get beaten to almost death. Those who cannot stand that better not to watch this series. But those who can stand all of that, this is definitely worth watching. Justice is served. The criminals not only get what they deserved, but they also get to experience what they do to their victims. Incredible 10/10!

Ddeonu Jan 20 2025 11:42 pm From the first ep alone I was made that curious. This drama is not boring from start to finish. I like. Even though it is very sadistic, it is still seasoned with RomCom. I like characters Park Shin Hye, Kim Jaeyeong, their chemistry is really good. I like. And all the cast who play in this drama are no less cool. Highly recommended to watch. For me, it gets a rating of 9/10.

Yeruchii Dec 07 2024 10:36 am I absolutely love this. The concept and the idea behind this is very enticing and engaging. My only issue with this is the romance.. It felt like an afterthought just to bridge Kang Bitna's shift to being humanized. I'm not sure if it's because it's 14 short episode that's why the romance wasn't fully developed. it felt lacking. The chemistry wasn't chemistrying either. I love PSH. I grew up with her but even though she's one of my faves, I really can't feel her chemistry with her costars.

Anyway, I'm so proud of Park Shin Hye for carrying and giving Kath Bitna's role justice. Badass characters fit her more than the poor girl personas she always plays. I hope she does more projects like this. Those wardrobe was also so good!

As for Kim Jae-young, I'm so happy he finally landed a role that made people notice him. Most people don't know this especially the new drama fans but this guy has been around longer than the popular and trending actors these days. I always see his cameos here and there for several years and wanting more from him. So I'm happy 2024 was giving him that exposure he needed. I hope he gets more leads role and further recognition.

All in all, I enjoyed this very much. The concept of genjutsu in every trial is such a genius move.

Now I need something similar to watch ugh

But one thing I want to pinpoint: what happened to the real Kang Bitna? I mean, we saw that she was clearly sent to hell by mistake. I thought by the end we would know what happened to her. Is she in hell, heaven, or has she returned to Earth?

Bael Nov 09 2024 9:32 am I think this is my fav character that Park Shin Hye portrayed so far. Love her expressions, acting and fashion in this drama. Although certain parts of the plot is too cringe and they made Han Daon looks like a loser simping on the judge, the overall acting by the cast is top notched and I really enjoyed it. Like what alot of the audience mentioned, there are loopholes to the plot but this drama is still worthy of your time because there aren't alot of nice drama this year I feel.

How is the story of Kang Bitna after being chased by a lion. Then it was not explained whether Han Daon fell in love with Kang Bitna's face or Justicia's soul. They are clearly two different people. Does Han Daon have a problem with Justicia's real face. There are too many holes in this drama.

The ending of the show was good with the suspense still able to work on season 2 or might be however it will viewers discretion. I’m love it so much as end up very well with good wrap up. I'm going to miss this drama when it finishes this Saturday. It's going to be on my fav list. Every actor/actress did an excellent job. It was nice to see Park Shin Hye shine again after DS. She shines in roles like this and I want to see her slay more. I want to kiss the director for introducing me to Kim Jaeyoung bc where was all this time. He people how to act I'm surprised he went unnoticed for all these years. I have faith in the screenwriter since she did a great job even though this was her debut. It deserves all the rewards. I hope people give this drama a chance :D.I want to see a season 2 but it probably won't so I'm not going to get my hopes up.

Kim Ayaza Oct 26 2024 4:11 pm why is everyone here complaining about FL and ML's romance? It's the author's right to make the two characters fall in love with each other. The author probably got the idea for the story because she first thought about the love story between a Devil and a human. Ignore their romance. Why not focus on the storyline and the meaning that she wants to convey in this drama. Honestly, I like the story idea and agree with the concept of punishing criminals. In my opinion, it's much better if criminals are punished according to the crimes they commit. What's so proud of the law in the world? Even being in prison for life will only waste tax money. Criminals can still eat and sleep in prison. While the victim has died and the family left behind, suffers for life in sadness. So I prefer Justicia to work (punish criminals) than Kang Bitna who judges.

shaivs Oct 26 2024 9:12 am This drama story is all over the place, like how they can easily access the secret room even the police officer know where to go when he save bit na, even the real bitna went there just by moving only one book for no reason at all. But shin hye acting is just worth watching, its more like a non logic comedy thriller drama for me it could have used a better writting but the phase would have been dragged. When i see holes in the writing like when bael told bitna "do not dissapoint me again" when he is aware that she fell in love with a human being already, I just laughed because Im used to it being a com-thriller i think thats the vibe since the beginning the story is nonesense at some part but its good.

angie Oct 26 2024 7:47 am so good!! as someone who is not a “teenage girl” i’m still so deeply invested. yes there is a bit of romance but the way they transition from mortal enemies to lovers is so perfect (this coming from someone who didn’t want romance in the first place and now im obsessed w both of them!!!). funny, amazing acting from park shinhye, and i personally don’t think the demon has become a “softie” at all—a bit more empathetic maybe, but she remains vengeful and bloodthirsty till the end. don’t listen to people saying it’s cringy and think for yourself!

There are so many contradictive in the story, I don't understand what is the writer thinking and wants to show in this drama, especially the romance. I think it would be much better if there is no romance in this type of drama.

I don't like the characters of the ML and FL.

The FL was crying too often over situations that I think it is not necessary. Such a crybaby for the 500 years old demon.

Kim Jae-Young's acting skill is so great. It's such a shame. I hope he can cast in a really good drama next time.

If she was trying to keep her actions low key she wouldnt be so obvious in everything she does. Theres a lot of contradictory concepts in this series. The detective is also very tactless... This script is so loose in my opinion that the story line is all over the place. Research on other religions and what they actually believe should have also been taken seriously....

Justitia Oct 20 2024 12:55 pm I think the Assemblyman Jung is Satan (and J). He's getting old and need a new body hence the body parts ritual. He tries to use his sons for the mission now (hence the 25yr resurface I guess). Notice how it seems like there were 2 persons there when Kang BitNa touched Detective Kim's body. One person shot her from behind, and also the drunk one wasn't the one that stabbed her (so Tae saved the drunk one and finished the job). They were also behind Kang BitNa's death (I wonder why she didn't miss a bodypart). The father probably killed the drunk brother's mother (as scene in the post-credits) and the guy says he's suffered enough (in the club). Tams Oct 19 2024 12:47 pm I feel like the romance between Bitna and Daon would make more sense if Bitna was maybe a lower level demon or a newbie demon. Because it doesn’t make sense for to have been alive for so many years and plain old Daon is able to sway her heart. She should’ve definitely seen and heard worse stories than J’s murders so I find it hard to believe her heart softened so easily. I also find it hard to believe she’s idolized and well respected by other demons when I feel like her personality comes off more tsundere than villainess. It think it’d be better if she was a newbie demon tasked with sending 20 sinners to hell and she has to convince herself she’s a cold hearted demon every time she’s swayed, but ultimately fails because of Daon. However I feel like the Daon we’ve seen so far hasn’t really done anything significant that could cause Bitna feel compassion and love, so the chemistry between them is questionable.

But this drama changed my opinion on her 180 degrees! Her acting is mesmerising, the script, the idea everything about this Kdrama is amazing. And to those who are saying they don't like her being a judge. Execuse me!!! She's supposed to be a demon, she doesn't care about humans she only wants to punish 20 sinners so she can return to hell peacefully and she must be very careful on whom she chose to kill so she doesn't get punished anymore! This Kdrama isn't about her being a good judge, it's about her being a devil.

Also tho i understand some love scene are unnecessary but i get it they need something to hold kang bitna cos she is overpowered. also, i wonder if in the future eps there would be case where the perpetrator as group, because all this time it has been solo act.

Overall this is good drama and it's refreshing to see park shinhye not on her usual romantic heroine mode

And this may not be a romance genre, but the chemistry of these two in this series is so good!

And this is a fantasy, action, thriller drama --- for a series in that genre, The Judge From Hell is definitely a good one. It's interesting and satisfying to watch.

Not trying to be rude, but I don't understand why the rating is up. From the episode 4 until now the everything is so messed up. Especially from the character development, I think it's too fast. She's been a demon from half of century and suddenly she developed feelings for human and the ML, I don't think that makes sense at all.

And I don't understand the character of the ML who has trauma, can't handle the sound of the bell that triggered him, yet still managed to defend the murderer for the name of justice. Too unreasonable.

Not fan of the love story line between the FL and ML, it feels so forced, like, "They should be fall in love with each other so the FL can face the consequence of having a human's feeling then DIE" thing.

And one more thing, I think Go Min-Si (The Frog drama) is more suitable for the role of the devil. P.S.: I don't hate Park Shin-Hye, just not feel the "evil" from her for the role.

What is wrong with the script writer? The concept is so good but the script is ruining it.

As others have said, is there a reason Why Bitna can't kill the people in jail and stage it as a suicide or something? And Daon's character is a bit too...frustrating? So why does he always seem so *surprised pikachu face* when he finds out that Bitna is not a good person and she may be a killer. When he asked her "How can a human do that?" I was like...bruhhhh she's not a human, she's a demon.

Bael crealy said in first episode and third one that she needs to being to justice 10-20 SINNERS, so how does it count togheter with the victims? makes no sense that if a person kills 2 people is countend as 3 with the first case. are you counting victims or sinners, which is it? Nr.2 why is Justicia portrayed as an evil deamon. when she is suposed to be an impartial judge, her name is Justice. this makes no sense to me. if she is the judge in the afyer life why is she a deamon? she should be a neutral beeing, otherwise, isn't that a contracdiction of her purpose and existance? Nr.3 Makes no sense that Justicia would condemn a woman who never killed to eternal Hell without checking all the facts first, she wasn't even on the list and is her purpose to check facts anf give accurate judgment. that felt out of character for what her purpose was and she wasn't even remorseful for such obvious mistake on her part. and after that no one rectified their mistake, they just let that innocent human rot in hell. is she supose to wait in hell for an enire year when she wasn't even guilty? and Nr. 4 why is this dreama only 14 episodes? not even the usual 16 for short dramas? come on, you can do so much with this plot, and Park Shin Hye is killing it in this role..i'm a bit sad about it... anyways, i tried to look up this writer but i couldn't find any of their works. i woner if they are new, because if they are..they still done a great job despite few plot holes here and there. i kinda wanna see more of their works

I like some flirting with the leads but I wonder if they'll end up together, I mean, Bitna's dead/in hell, weird if Nara (Justicia) will be the one to fall in love with the detective, won't she come back to her original form, so it wouldn't be Park Shin Hye. And it's tiring if they're lovers in the past kind of drama, or the real Bitna's connected to the detective in the past.

Hope it's nothing like this, or other kdrama cliches since the justice, lack of justice, crime, repentance, non-repentance is already interesting so I hope it won't get ruined later as the drama progress
