Bok Gwi-Ju (Jang Ki-Yong) and his family were born with different supernatural powers. Bok Gwi-Ju is able to travel back in time, but only to happy times in his life. He can't change the past, so he can only dwell on those happy moments. Bok Gwi-Ju becomes afflicted with depression and this leads him to lose his supernatural power. His family also loses their own powers due to modern day problems like insomnia, bulimia, and smartphone addiction. One day, Do Da-Hae (Chun Woo-Hee) happens to get involved with Bok Gwi-Ju and his family. She begins to live with them and change occurs.

SPOILER Alert! I getting pissed towards the end though because I couldn’t figure out why was he insisting on going back to save her when they’re already living happily in the future. They then pulled a titanic on us like that he could’ve jumped with her from that window. I guess their baby saved the day and I liked what @Debby said it was a perfect explanation! They couldn’t find his body because he was brought to the future by the son. Good ending but I couldn’t enjoy it because it was sudden and short I needed more proof to believe that he’s okay :(

Nik Dec 31 2024 6:29 pm What a wonderful drama and idea with a great cast! For some super power reason I had the feeling I know the story but I watched it for the 1st time :o

I had some questions while watching, because there would have been many ways to solve their "problem", which made the last episode a little straining, I just say "too much text in dangerious situations", nobody would talk that much. But they came up with a great solution at the end :) I also wished there would have been 60 sec more at the end instead of that just mentioned texting.

But again, I'm just whining at a high level here ^^

The last few episodes were so intense, I couldn’t tear myself away from the screen. I really appreciated the slow-burn storytelling, which allowed the characters to develop in a meaningful way. That said, I was left feeling a bit unsatisfied with the ending—I really wished for a more complete resolution, especially with the family coming back together. Huge praise to the actors for their incredible performances!

At times a little confusing with all the going back and forward in time but nevertheless a great and special drama. The story is so very good, the acting just excellent and professional. Kudos to all the cast!!! Highly recommended to watch!

RinaFuyu Aug 22 2024 8:47 pm it’s been a while since I watch a Good Kdrama! it’s my fav drama of 2024, the storyline is so unique not too focus on the romance but more to the family. There are a lot of life lesson learned, Bok Dong Hee is my fav character, I like her more than the main lead and always looking forward to her story with Grace haha they really need to add Grace and the uncle’s backstory like how do they meet the mother and what they did before scamming. The ending is also a bit rushed, like I want to know how their son bringing back the missing person XD but overall I love this drama and highly recommend it

I appreciate that the creators wrote a slow-burn story. The only thing I would criticise is the ending. I didn't feel entirely satisfied, would've loved to see the family reunited. Cudos to the actors, beautiful job!

Gwi-Ju never died in the present, he got “lost” in the past so he brought him from the past from the moment before the explosion! We never saw him dying and for what we know, the’d never found his body… so his son made him “jump” to the future, their present, from the moment he “got lost”, not died.

There never was a body ‘cause he jumped into the future and never died in the explosion, thanks to his son.

So, no! He can’t bring back dead people… only lost things…

Btw, Bok dong hee and grace are my favorite! Also the do hae’s uncle. I knew they’re not not bad from the beginning

But for me i really enjoyed and understood everything about this drama which is why i think it is the best. It’s like “the da vinci” code of dramas. So many twists and unpredictable parts. The female lead was so great in her role and it made me love her as an actress. She’s really cute too. :) the ending was great as well. :) 10000000/100

Lissa Jul 10 2024 5:42 am Hey Jo Ji-han, just as Tin mentioned Nu-ri was only able to bring back his father because his father didn't even died to begin with, if you watch the last episode well, before the wall fell on him, he disappeared to his past when i-na was born, so i guess he disappeared again before the fire could even explode to another happy moments of him and i think that's why Nu-ri could find him.

I believe the reason he was able to bring his father, Gwi-ju, back is because there was no dead body found to begin with. Remember during one of Grandma's dreams, she said they would hold a memorial service without Gwi-ju's body since it was not found. That's why Nu-ri could bring back his dad.

Jojo Jul 08 2024 8:26 am A weak drama series, terrible story. The only person I enjoyed watching was the Uncle (plated by Roy), who spoke the least, but had more of a presence than the rest of the. A fine looking man, loved him.

Special mention for Bok Dong-Hee (played by Soo Hyun) and Grace (played by Ryu Abel), these two were hilarious to watch. If it weren't for them, I would have switched this off ages ago.

Mulan Jun 24 2024 7:52 am I'm only living in this drama because to Park So Yi and Moon Woo Jin if not for them maybe I'll give up, I don't always like romcoms, so I tried to watch this one, actually I have no problems in morally grey character if it is necessary in story, but I don't live up too in loveline between the main leads they are just like siblings there are no sparks between them and their love strory felt forced it happened very fast, it much better if this story focuses more in father and daughter relationship to make the scene even more beautiful.

If you all about romance and only romance, this may not be your cup of tea. But……..if you enjoy studies in human nature and how life affects us……..this is a great drama to watch. It shows the effects of many of the ails that affect society today can twist our lives. Good tale….enjoyed watching.

I would like to say how thankful I am for the existence of this kdrama. I’d always wait for new episodes to release, even if I was so impatient. The emotions and feelings this kdrama has given me was mixed. I love how this kdrama brought me so much happiness, so much excitement, even so much anger! The last episodes brought me so much sadness but joy too.

I will miss this kdrama. Now that it has ended, I feel very relieved, but gloomy too. This kdrama is just amazing! I love Jang Ki-yong’s new appearance, it was very surprising, I just hope his hair is like that in kdramas from now on hehe. I also love Chun Woo-hee, she did such an amazing job and she’s a very good actress.

Bok Nu-ri is such a hero, he brought his dad back. I miss this kdrama so much. I will cherish the moments I have spent watching this kdrama. I miss waiting for new episodes to release, I miss Gwi-ju and Da-hae’s kissing moments, I’ll miss everything that I spent watching this kdrama. It’s a rlly special kdrama, you know? I love it so much. I want more ppl to know this kdrama, many more ppl need to know how special and incredible this kdrama is!

seeun Jun 15 2024 9:03 am the storyline is literally atypical. i like how Jang Ki Yong expressed the emotion of his character. i also didn't recognize Do Da Hee as the 8th floor from The 8 Show, it's a different person tbh. the beginning is a bit boring and the storyline doesn't make any sense, you'll start to put pieces of the puzzle in the middle part. it's a kinda weird series but i like it.

The way he did not care about his daughter At All kept pissing me off throughout the entire series and really affected my ability to enjoy it. It’s hard for me to like a character that never made any effort to take care of his daughter, and that’s AFTER the tragedy in his family that he somewhat caused. Him trying to act cute with the FL just annoyed me more lol

Interesting story, but I wasn't sure what the theme was until the last episode when ML and FL son was able to bring the red ball from the past into the present. Maybe Gwi Ju once had the same power and when his best friend dies in a school fire - he desperately keeps going back into a black and white world to try to save him. He fails every time- and his depression increases - to the point that his marriage begins to frail - and then she dies. He then keeps going back to the moment - again in black and white - when I Na is born - trying to find a way to change it - but failing again. His depression gets worse - the whole family is suffering. Then Da Hae begins to appear in Gwi Ju's past, but in color - like a beacon of light. This drama is about fate - and how your life can vary depending on how you interpret it. You can accept it for what it was - good or bad - and move on, or dwell forever tormenting yourself.

Beginning to watch the series over again - and now everything fits. Well done - the only question I have left is - could it have been even better with different ML and FL. Maybe - but it's done - like fate.

And when i found out that she was that little girl in PAWN, my fondness deepen. A very talented actress and some awards will just in her reach in the future.

The scenes were acted incredibly well - every actor and actress in this show did a phenomenal job. The chemistry between the leads was amazing. The ending was very sweet. I will watch this drama again and again. This one is a top 5 favorite for me!

Bee Jun 11 2024 11:21 am I loved this drama so bad 9/10 for me, Gwi-Ju's playfulness in the past and how he healed while in love , I-na was so pitiful and i wanted so bad for her father to wake up and realise that him living in the past caused her so much damage as well as the weight of the grandma's words. I specuated a sad ending but the series was wholesome because i looked forward to seeing it every weekend.

ML character is selfish and pathetic always looking out for her girlfriend but not his daughter. ML always depressed when a girl leaves him without even thinking about his daughter :(

When they got trapped in fire, ina's father called bokhee's name first. And when gwiju lost his first wife, he only think abt how bad he was til got depressed instead of focusing abt inaya. The fact is, only bokhee care abt Ina more than her own family.

Mario Jun 10 2024 8:26 am Intresting story, an atypical family indeed but not bcz of their powers but their relationship with eachother, no comunication at all therefore all their phycological problems. Slow paced at some points, very rushed ending and so many questions unanswered. Need an explaination on why GwiJu suddenly could not interact with DaHae when he thought she was dead and went back to warn her, like she had the power to decide when she wants him to be able to interact with items and her and when not... How??? And the end, why he couldn't jump with her and be saved (reminds me of Titanic couple) and then their son, like what in the superpower world ability he has at the age of 5, he can teleport in time that he didn't even existed and even teleport his father, just by looking his pic, he new the time and place to travel back to and teleport him, right?????? He's like small God... In the end, I'm dissapointed with many things bcz it had potentials for a good kdrama but....

jilli Jun 10 2024 2:04 am I understand that we have different opinions on the drama we watch, but unfortunately this drama did not meet my expectation in the last ep, the ending is rushed for the sake of happy ending, I thought I would fully enjoy this drama but sadly not satisfied in the ending, it's just wasted my time. I wish I hadn't been curious in the remaining Ep. I will not rewatch it no matter what happens. I will rate it 6/10. This drama is not far in the other inconsitent dramas..

Somniaji Jun 09 2024 12:27 pm First, the reason I’m watching this drama is because the synopsis mentioned that the main character can go back to the past. Luckily, the drama was good until the end. However, I can’t say it was very favorable for me. It was a bit slow, and the plot moved aesthetically. Hahaha. I can say that the drama was really unique and nice in some ways, but some parts were kind of boring. It didn’t really wow me, and the conflict didn’t make me urgently want to know what happens next.

Yes, I finished the drama, faithfully watching it every Saturday and Sunday. I don’t want to spoil it too much, but the ending was a sad-happy one ?. You know that feeling when a drama contains both happy and sad elements? It really confuses me, hahahaha. I need to check other people’s opinions about this drama as well, hahahahahaha.

Am I recommending it to others? Hm, yes. But if you want a fast-paced drama, you might want to think twice before watching it. This drama might not be suitable for those who really love very fast-paced dramas. However, proceed to watch till the end—it’s good, and you don’t need to think hard. Just enjoy it peacefully.

And I really love Chun Won Hee in this drama. She’s really pretty and sweet. She’s good, and I really want to watch her other past dramas. I know her from the drama “Delightfully Deceitful,” but I haven’t finished that one yet, hahahahah.

Overall, I will give this drama 8/10. It’s a pretty high rating because this drama really gave me a comforting feeling in my heart.

It's kinda sad at the end but also regain the happiness, like (Ｔ▽Ｔ). Literally need season two even if it's a limited series!! Da-hae's son ended the series ╥﹏╥ hope that he didn't, so there's still another season, lol... Just kidding. Bit It's Worth It To Watch (uhm.. for me..?). It's literally just the ending!!! Like whyyyyyy ? I need another season!

Very disappointing that k-dramas have come a long way in views of many mental health diagnoses but treat overweight people so poorly by such shoddy representation via fat suits and false/generalized behaviors.

It’s a SHOW with 12 episodes, an hour each at that. wanting everything to be revealed right away takes away the charm. mia Jun 07 2024 9:21 am i wanna know why we don't have more back story of the sister that is flying? how did she became that size, what made her eat so uncontrollably. what kind of stress or triggered determined her to go from runway model to that level of obesity? is clear that is not only her love for foood getting her there..characters feel a bit too half fleshed, not much growth for most of them either. at the end of the show i bet we won't find out why the main female lead is so important to them, other than he was the one saving her. thisentire past future plot is also very confusing how they navigate thru it...i don't know. the writer could have done better. i don't think main leads lack chemistry, not the best but not the worts either. they are cute togheter, but indeed is har to see the moment they feel for echoter. the only sense i get from him is that he fell when seeing her be kind with his daughter, for her tho, i don't get it. still, kinda of weak. and the flying lady, when is she gonna wake up from being a doormat to that cheating guy. i don't get her, she still goes on with the wedding tho she know not only he cheats, but is after her money. she was talking so beautifully about self respect, but she has none for herself. overall the drama feels very rushed. it feels like they should have explored more the characters. they are all very selfish, but the main lead is on antohe level. my God, he can become too obsessive of the people he lost. let it go dude, try to live in the present too...first his boss then his ex wife...he became depressed even after his first wife, even tho she cheated on him and was expecting antoher child with the man she was about to run with...he says his daughter birth was the best moment yet he completly forgets about her for years and years...i don't know...i'm not feeling it. i assume is not gonna be a happy end, but for sure we won't get many answers. the sauna thugs are kina usseless and annoying to this story

And that's what the drama's story is trying to tell us. Poor little girl.

The storyline is satisfying with little details in the overall story, like how he started wearing colourful clothes unlike before when he only wore black. That being said, I also agree with some of the things @Ina said below.

I guess the plot tried to make you understand him, he was being pulled in the past by his power, plus depression and then romantic love heals him. But what about his fatherly love, what about him as a father. I tried to understand until ep10, he remained the same, Ina comes last of his priorities, of his reason to live, of who he is (father). Yes, I get the thing he saying that how can he be a father to Ina if Dahae made him depressed & lose power again. Why is it so dependent on his own-romantic happiness. I know, our parents are humans too, they need to have self-love, they need to be happy & whole on their own so they could love their kids, but it's just so cruel for Ina. It's not that he couldn't fall in love again, but it's just sad that he can't be a good single-father to Ina. He's going through something, that's for sure, but that'll scar her daughter who's just growing up. I appreciate Dahae & Hyeong-tae's relationship w/ Ina more than her own father/family.

Well I guess, the lead shouldn't be always that perfect, but anyways it's just so annoying, but kind of realistic how this could happen to parent-child relationships.

VERY believable characters, excellent casting and acting,very believable family dynamics, also bonus of an endearing kid to root for in the show!! There are fantastical elements in the plot but everything else feels so real, this is a magical combination. Too bad it's only 12 episodes!!!

Both started as stereotypes but they are now developing, and some parts you love and some parts ahem!! The greatest though for me is Park so-wi.She started as the plain weak child, inhibited, shy and introverted, but slowly her real character is coming through strongly, because of her ability as an actor. I am always wondering what is the next facet of her character to appear. The bad family are also typical stereotypes, but you know by the end they are going to end up changed.

But what makes this drama, is it's magical quality, dragging you in and making you think what's next. And the serene beauty of Chun woo hee. A great ensemble cast who all fulfil their storyline. Love it!!

I truly hope it picks up in upcoming episodes. The cinematography is cool. I like the music. I love how refreshing this drama is. Not your regular kdrama.

From a little girl played young DukMi in Her Private Life, SoYi turns into Ina - mysterious with her cool acting, the way she says things, how much she knows life, very impressive! Also her crush, I knew him since The Devil Judge as young Yohan, now he grew up, and keep all the traits. Something cool but warm inside. Hope to see him more at his 20s late ???

Albeitdiy May 27 2024 2:31 pm Nope. The director don't make a mistake in Episode 7 and 8. First you have to understand, the supposedly wedding has already happened a week before. For a week or so, Gwi-Ju has gone to the wedding scene many times. But in this case, as an audience we could see him go through it 2 times. First, the night after the wedding, in a suit. Second, in his green shirt, after Ina told him, Da Hee might being locked up. So he did checked, and Da Hee was slapped by her mother. Then the drama cut to when he arrived back to the present time - the night Dong Hee was in hospital - and made an arrangement with the scammers. The clue is in colour.

The story has been mostly good so far, although episodes 7 & 8 were duds. The last two episodes were too slow without enough plot to move the story forward.

In response to Pandora's comment below: I would argue that Flowers Like Sand is the best drama so far in 2024. No time travel, no superheroes, no gore - a simple, straightforward romance that is both captivating and rewarding.

I know the FL is older than the ML in real life but how come she was just high schooler when he was already a working adult and a new dad during the fire…it doesn’t make sense. lyde May 18 2024 9:21 am I have been reading some reviews of this drama. A lot of them are negative; I almost didn't watch it. But thankfully, I still gave it a try and have even come to like this drama. The English title itself says "atypical," and it really is quite intriguing and unusual for me. I am not fond of the supernatural and fantasy genres, but this one isn't overdone. And what I particularly like about this drama is its colors and how it gives me a slice of life. Really interesting.

For those who want to watch this but are quite getting bothered because of the comments, I hope you give it a try, especially if what they're saying is something that is negotiable or not really a big deal with you.

Only four episodes have aired, but I would rate it 9 out of 10 or 8.5, to say the least. ?❤️

Haru May 12 2024 12:33 pm From now on this is another series that I'll patiently wait every week. When I watched the first episode, I don't think I would like this drama because of the complicated female lead. The female lead is really different from typical romance k-drama; swindler.

Typical romance k-drama gave you female lead that is pretty, nice, foolish, likeable, energetic, positive and everything good that made you like her and always on her side. But female lead here is different. She is messy, she made you doubt her. And strangely this female lead made me stayed and keep watching this drama. You didn't trust her when she said Bok Gwi Ju gave her the flower but then it proved that she said the truth. You'll slowly trust her but again all she said in 4th episode doesn't make any sense and than you'll wondering "is she saying the truth or is she just a liar who's taking advantage of Bok Gwi Ju superpower?"

But I hope that Bok Gwi Ju is really safe her during the fire incident.

Because of that I had to skip some parts but there are some less obvious parts in the story which I look forward to see. Further, the writer tries to depict the female negatively, so I and I wish it will change for in the future because the dialogues of the Fl delivers positivity as well.

I won't watch the rest, mainly due to the fact that if the writers and the cast are not able to capture the viewer's attention 30 minutes in, it's probably not worth the time to watch the rest.

Story and pace: It's more interesting to watch paint dry... Nothing of interest really happens...

Plot Development: Hard to determine after only one episode, but it seems they are going for Dark Comedy(?), but it wasn't really remotely funny... It seems they attempt to blend family drama, comedy, and superhero elements, but the mix doesn't always feel seamless.

Xylmir May 07 2024 5:38 am A family that loses their powers due to modern lifestyle disease is an awesome idea for a storyline I like it. The mother thinks that Do-Da-Hee is their saviour in getting things back to normal but it could mean that her premonition of the dream is trying to warn her. I believe I-na has got something to do with their downfall alot of curiosity left unanswered for maybe this is a good thing to find redemption amongst themselves but their are gaps to see that needs filling with the group that the lead actress is working with.

Pretty awesome so far this series it's good to see Soo-Hyun from Avengers: Age of Ultron and the Marvel reference as well quite funny.

scammer comes to town to scam the whole town. falls in love with the town librarian and becomes a good man!

this story we see 2 broken people who will get fixed by eachother

a deadbeat dad, and a scammer. find eachother and become a good man

the story so far has shown a child needs a father and a mother(the bathroom "accident" scene)

I’m pretty sure she knows she has power and think she killed her mother. She doesn’t need more trauma and trust issue :(

How can she arrange to get the young daughter stalked. Thats evil. Like how can we root for the ML to fall in love with her. Nah I want the ML and his family to escape her clutches. Are we supposed to think they deserve to be scammed just cos they are rich or used to have superpowers.

cb May 05 2024 7:06 pm as much as i agree with the fact that the things that the fl are doing are pretty scummy, that should not overshadow the fact that the ml's family are just as guilty. being filthy rich, not from working hard or even by generational wealth, but by using their powers? there is no moral/ethical standing about this whatsoever, so i'm not sure why i'm seeing many people claiming that the family is so innocent.

sure, that's not a good enough reason for the fl to be scamming them the way she is, but we are also only two episodes in. we are not sure why she has targeted this family, but there may be another reason/a bigger picture?

anyways, i'm enjoying it so far!! i'm so curious about the daughter, as her story is the most interesting to me yes ~

Candi May 05 2024 2:46 pm Sorry, I will have to drop this one.. Lets see the FL is a gold digging scammer who is not scamming bad people but a good family going through a hard time. She is literally preying on a hopeful mother who wants to help her depressed son get over the loss of his wife. How is she going to do that? Easy, she targets the depressed man's. motherless teenage daughter who is deeply insecure and to add to it.. she sends a guy to chase to stalk the young girl. I'm sorry, we are suppose to root for this character?

I dont care about whatever redemption arc or her feeling bad later and really starting to love the family. Nope, she is a hard pass for me. She is a conniving liar who has been married TWICE and scammed those guys too it seems and as an audience member I cant trust her nor like her. Its sad because i LOVE Jang Ki Young but the FL is too gross for me to get pass.. I am okay with morally questionable leading ladies but not slimy, gross ones that use children to obtain their objective..

But this drama kinda different from current kdrama where's FL in a good behavior with good family background instead FL is very cunning and liar about her family background. Just thumb up's ?? exciting storyline worth to watch Jang ki yong comeback?.

Chey Apr 19 2024 3:21 am Hope he comes back with a bang with this drama as most actors did after their military service in which they raked most Acting Awards such as Song Joong Ki in Descendants of the Sun, Kang Ha Neul in When the Camellia Blooms, just to name a few.

I miss Jang Ki Yong in genres such as Come and Hug Me which is still one of my faves among his dramas.
