Maeng Kong-Hee (Park Ha-Na) inherited her mother’s strong spirit and her father’s athletic ability. She has the drive to survive even if she was stranded on a deserted island. She has an older brother, Maeng Kong-Bu (Lee Eun-Hyung), who also has a strong personality and works as a doctor. For Meang Kong-Hee, she works as a contract designer for J-Fashion. At her workplace, she reunites with Koo Dan-Soo (Park Sang-Nam), who is her childhood friend. Koo Dan-Soo is the grandson of the chairman of J-Fashion. He was born to a wealthy father and a poor mother. With his free-spirit, Koo Dan-Soo lived in a foreign country, but, according to his grandmother's plan to make Koo Dan-Soo the successor, he returned to Korea and reunited with his childhood friend Maeng Kong-Hee. Other people that work at J-Fashion include Marketing Team Manager Seo Min-Ki (Kim Sa-Kwon), Design Team Manager Kang Ji-Na (Lee Yeon-Doo) and Design Team Assistant Manager Eom Hong-Dan (Park Tam-Hee).

Dan-Soo grandmother is one hateful person and filled with bitterness and it no wonder she is ill. Also Ji-Na is one spoil bi*#@, how can see move into someone else home and demand that they don't go into her room, fix meal only for herself and demand privacy and with her father's company going under she should not burn bridges that she will have to cross later.

Amy Mar 23 2025 4:56 pm This series is so much about just how a boy meet a girl kind of story. It is about a regular dysfunctional family. The story of the grandma and the mother heartwarming and not too boring as others mentioned. It is indeed a blessing to have a caring and wise grandma. I find it meaningful to have the grandma and mother relationship out of all the chaos by the main lead and co actors and actress. It also teach a lesson on life and death, and learning to let go the one you love, holding on to the choice that you choose. Worth watching!

The grandmother is villianized so much, it wouldn't be easy for her to end up in good terms with the rest at the end of the drama.

Sadly, these long daily dramas almost always end up "happy ending" not that I don't like happy endings but the problem is there's no character development, they just suddenly change so they'll all be understanding & loving at the end, happy family ending.

Ji na is a bully and min gi is same w Dan soo. The grandmother and her secretary just go around threatening and screaming. The storyline is not moving at a nice pace.

Mona Jan 15 2025 8:44 am This drama acting is so immature, there is so much yelling, screaming and hitting which I do it understand among adults in Korean culture. They can’t communicate with words unless is hitting or screaming, or insulting each other, very violent behavior, and verbal abusive. As the drama progresses I thought it will get better but it just got worse. The cast in this drama is not good looking and to top it off, I jus do not understand why Korean culture is obsessed to portray relationship between older women with young men or viceversa. I am watching this drama because there is no new many good dramas to watch until my favorite drama plays on weekends so this is a family drama that I skip a lot of scenes because of the yelling, screaming and hitting. Supposedly these character played are educated people but they look so vulgar that you will think they were born in shantytown.

Kang Ji Na's character is annoying but I'm not yet as annoyed as I was with Jin Na Young (from Suji & Uri the drama before this), but I feel like I will soon.

Maybe I'm not yet that annoyed because she actually doesn't get all the things she wants (besides winning the contest) I mean she can't manipulate other characters (yet). Actress the played Na Young was also really good.

But when looking at the couple JiNa & Minki, it so annoying coz why involve other people when they clearly want each other. Well it's JiNa's greed etc. & MinKi should move on, but still he'll probably hurt Gong Hee later on.

Raphael Nov 27 2024 5:47 pm Some of the comments focus on Kang Myeong-Ja. I, too, understand how unlikable of a character she is. I watched a bit and felt turned off. When I found out that Yang Mi-Kyung act in this Kdrama, I was excited. I have watched her involvement in kdrama for years, and I have admired and respected her skill and talent. However, when I watched "My Merry Marriage", I was quite saddened, angry, and disappointed. It is not so much of her acting ability because I could not tell what exact description did the superiors want her to portray. It is the more obnoxious character that I felt turned off. When she has played a mother figure in kdramas, she came off rather warm, compassionate, and had a bit of charm at most. She knew how to play emotionally sad moments well, and I felt the same feelings as it was happening in the scenes. When I watched her new role, it brings me great pain because I remembered how my parents had treated me so badly to the point of abuse. I remember my first real impression of her acting was in Dae Jang-Geum, which is one of my favorites.

Sometimes, if she is portraying the role of an obnoxious person and doing it well as goes by the script and the screenwriter intention, she did well. However, it still saddens me.

As to her looks, I know a Korean whose hairstyle is very similar and is a little younger than her. As to anything else, she kind of me reminds me of a Korean that I deal with regularly and has a different personality. The person that I deal with is domineering but not obnoxious. She cares for the best interests but does not always express in a healthy way.

Finally, I still admire and respect Yang Mi-Kyung. As she, a fellow Catholic like me, I see her as a sister in Christ. However, I do not know her personally. Yet, as Christians, we are still bound by the unity of our faith and belief in God. Now, I am getting a little personal..Hehe. Yet, I do not wish to be too discouraged.

saengil chuka hamnida Nov 16 2024 7:20 am havent finished the predecessor suji uri yet am halfway and its getting really good just watched the epi where mom encountered her long abandoned daughter it was a teary epi wow really good, about this drama i wasnt gonna start it cz park hana is in there am not fan of hers and am getting lots of fun with suji uri by mistake i started this drama and liked the 1st epi especially the fight of the 2 older woman and the plot is very well defined in the 1st epi so i got interested and will continue watching
