Takeshi Kobayashi was born in June 7, 1959. He's a well-known music producer, lyricist, composer and keyboardist. He is best known for his work with the popular band “Mr. Children”.<br />

In 1996, he teamed up with [[Shunji Iwai]] to create the music for the film ''[[Swallowtail Butterfly]]'' and the Yen Town Band, headed by Pop star [[Chara]]. The band they created became a commercial hit in Japan. He would team up with [[Shunji Iwai|Iwai]] again in 2001 for the harrowing High School Drama ''[[All About Lily Chou-Chou]]''. Kobayashi would create the music for the titular pop star, Lily Chou-Chou (voiced by Japanese singer [[Salyu]]), that is spread through the film (as well as Debussy), and later be released as an album entitled ''Kokyu (Breathe)''. <br />

He also composed songs for Kill Bill 1 (2001, directed by Quentin Tarantino).<br />

His first project as a movie director, a piece [[Shunji Iwai]] wrote about the Japanese indie Rock scene in the early 1990s called ''[[Bandage]]'', is slated for release on January 16, 2010. Apart from that, he's also in charge of the music production once again. The project was originally taken by [[Ryuhei Kitamura]], but was dropped in 2006. The filming started in 2008 and [[Takeshi Kobayashi|Kobayashi]] has chosen a completely diferent cast for the movie, casting pop singer [[Jin Akanishi]], and [[Kie Kitano]] for the main roles. <br />
He also teamed up with [[Jin Akanishi]] to create the rock band LANDS. Having already debuted at first place in the Oricon rankings with the single "Bandage", they're going to release an album titled "Olympos" in 2010. They also have an upcoming concert called LANDS LAST LIVE on January 19, 2010<br />
