The killer escapes, however, and months later the police investigation seems to be going nowhere. Kuniko becomes increasingly angry at what she sees is a lazy attitude on the part of the police.<br /> <br /> She decides to take matters into her own hands and sells her house to raise money for a reward for any information that might lead to an arrest. An employee of the supermarket, Mayumi ([[Keiko Toda]]), comes forward and says she saw the killer.
