They are viewed as belonging to the lowest class. Yeon-Sim ([[Kim You-Jung]]) is brought up by her mother ([[Hwang Mi-Seon]]) to become a dirge singer like herself. Yeon-Sim refuses to follow in her mother's footsteps and cry for others. She flees to a home to become a gisaeng. <br /> <br /> Yun-Su ([[Seo Jun-Young]]) was born out of wedlock and is only half a noble person. Because of his birth status, he can't attain the stature that his brother ([[Kim Dong-Yun (1988)|Kim Dong-Yun]]) has.
