Born in Tokyo, 1948. A prominent hit maker of TV commercials, he earned the Grand Prize at the Cannes International Advertising Festival in 1985. His first film is "BU+SU" produced in 1987. His most acclaimed film is [[Tony Takitani]], which earned him numerous festival awards.<br />

In the early morning hours of September 19, 2008 Jun Ichikawa passed away after collapsing at lunch the previous day and then being rushed to a hospital.<br />
