He hides his heritage from others, because his late father strongly instilled in him to hide his background. Ushimatsu Segawa begins to work as a teacher at an elementary school.<br /> <br /> His girlfriend is Shiho ([[Anna Ishii]]), who is from the shizoku (warrior families). Ushimatsu Segawa is uncomfortable hiding his background from others, including his girlfriend. People at the elementary school where he works begin to have doubts his background. Meanwhile, Ushimatsu Segawa becomes influenced by burakumin rights activist &amp; writer Rentarou Inoko ([[Hidekazu Mashima]]), who also comes from the Hisabetsu-buraku.
