Suspicious of her husband’s infidelity, the wife seeks the truth and eventually ends up in bed with the young man after learning he was her husband’s lover. The young man feels affection for both, but the couple merely treats him as a means to release their desires and anxieties. The second feature by Kim Eung-su made his debut with Time Lasts, a tale of fallen idealists set against the bleak Russian winter. Desire deals with the dreary lives of the middle class who are caught in their utterly private world of desire.
