Jang Joon-Hyun (Ji Hyun-Woo) is a talented and popular musician. He looks down upon the traditional trot music genre. Meanwhile, Choi Choon-Hee supports her family by herself and she is crazy about trot music. A romantic relationship begins between these two individuals.

Ciepao Mar 08 2021 8:00 am I watched this drama because of Jung Eun-ji (Choi Choonhee), I didn't know Shin Sungrok(Jo Geun-Woo) and Lee Seyoung(Park Soo-In) will be here too. I can't really talk about this drama for too long because to be honest, I got bored on this drama right in the first episode and start skipping some scenes. There's really nothing special about this drama other than Eunji's voice ofc and the actors and actresses. Like what the other says this drama is cliche and predictable. The only thing I like in this drama is when Choonhee sings, that's it.

I'll give this korean drama a 5/10. I won't recommend it for you to watch, but if you want, then you can try watching it...

Shine May 12 2019 8:41 am Watched this drama because of Son Ho-jun and Jung Eun-ji (Reply 1994/1997). This one gave me a second-lead syndrome. I just don't feel the chemistry between the two leads. Personally, I think, if not for the trot music part, this drama's plot would've been used in a Filipino teleserye. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but it's closeness to Filipino story lines makes it predictable for me; I do appreciate such plots. Although... if it weren't for Son Ho-jun and the amnesia part, I would've decided to not finish it.

christina Nov 15 2016 10:16 am It begins well but I must say after 10 episodes, it became too predictable. It is such a waste because in my opinion, it has lots of potentials of being the first kdrama to have the 2nd male lead conquering the female lead. All the writer got to do was to remove some of the unnecessary scenes that were not related in any way to the story or the lead casts and give more scene time to 2nd male lead. Do not mistaken me that I am bias towards the male leads....in fact, I came to watch this because of Ji Hyun-Woo whose work in Queen In-Hyun's man I enjoyed and missed so much. Focusing on the story itself, I feel that Choon-Hee was far too lucky and I will be as jealous as Soo-In was of her. Jo Guen-Woo really lacked nothing, absolutely nothing. So since the writer decided to make Joon-Hyun's mother the culprit, why not simply let our charming Guen-Woo has the woman? Not many people got to marry their first love. To be married to one who love you more than you love him is such a blessing...well, as far as from a woman's point of view. The writer had been so merciful to all the agonists...one year in jail for attempt murder! Yet you are so merciless to Guen-Woo! Everybody, good or bad, ended well eventually except Guen-Woo who lost his heart =(

christina Nov 10 2016 2:52 am So far the story is not fantastic...very normal but I really love it...this episode 9 that I am watching now....I especially like the scene where Guen-Woo met his father just outside Choon-Hee's flat after dinner at her place. I noticed that father and son crossed legs exactly the same. They had so much chemistry between them. So natural. And the dialogue....so nice...you know father who knows son so well and teasing him...great chemistry..

I think all the cast suited their characters so well! I had fun watching it and I also cried in alot of episodes, all the cast were effective!! The plot was amazing! :)

I can't see y u guys think that he can't act? But i think the chemistry from Ji Hyun Wo to Eunji didn't seem real. BUT i can see true chemistry from Eunji. Probably, he hasn't over yet with Yo In Na from his last drama before trot lovers. it was little bit sad that Eunji and Ji Hyun Wo didn't duet on Ost like Enji and Soe In Guk did :(

geum jay dee Jan 27 2015 4:48 am ...hmmm.. I think each character portrayed their roles distinctly with their own touch of style. I would have to disagree at some comments that ji hyun woo cant act. He can!..and i would love to tell you that i was very surprised in his acting here, completely different from the queen inhyun's man drama. He transform from being a silent cool type to a energetic talkative one and i like that sense of diversity. yes, i would say that this drama is quite predictable, a little, but still this drama left me with some sort of feeling of warmness, satisfaction and happiness. I mean, if we focused in the message and main theme of the drama, it really uplift our souls and warm our hearts. i dont know about you but THIS DRAMA LEFT ME THERE..thumbs up!

AZ Dec 08 2014 9:00 pm thank you for the spoilers..currently i'm on episode 11,but still i can predict what it gonna be..without even read the spoilers..the beginning of the drama really realistic for me,but in the middle i start question myself.. how come when you have been yelled by other person and then he is there in front of you and you don't even show surprise mode or sulking mode or at least ask "why you are here?"..it is so sudden..i too can be the director or script writer with the streotype drama like this..anyway, i still enjoy eunji great acting..she really great as a rookie actress..and to hyun woo oppa,i did not know that you have great talent in music..seriously because i don't pay too much your drama before this..lol..after i google his name then i know that he was once the guitarist of rock-band..no wonder he played guitar so well..actually all the actors and actresses are really good, no word to describe, i give all of them 10 stars but the storyline is a little bit urgh..only 5 out of 10..

And wrong title, trot was pratically nothing in the story, only because she wanted to become a trot singer? Well, that doesn't make a title. The drama was predictable and really made me cringe at the stereotypical K-drama characters, like the bad girl and her even worse mother, the nice other guy who doesn't end up with the main girl, the annoying at first main jerk and the short-tempered and poor protagonist.

What a shame... those who didn't watch it surely did miss one beautiful show! Ji Hyun Woo and Jung Eun Ji were perfect for their characters with such chemistry!! I can't say enough about the music! Their voices blended together; and separately, they both have amazing voices. Jung Eun Ji's voice -- WOW! I think it was a great re-start to Ji Hyun Woo's career after his stint in the Army. Kudos to everyone involved. You deserved better ratings than you received!!! Thanks for the memories!!!

I find when he's not on screen to stir the pot, Trot Lovers can get boring despite the talents of all the actors. The storyline is ho hum....especially the over used amnesia episodes. Aarrgghh! There is also NO chemistry between Jang Joon Hyun and Choi Chun Hee. Independently they are interesting; together...what a boring couple they make. Please writers, get over the cliches and write a story worthy of the actors.

The first ep was slow, but it seems that goes along with most KDRAMAS. I didn't want to like Jang Joon-Hyun, but I do. I really liked the actor who plays Jo Geun-Woo. His acting is so much different than what he did in the Love from Another Star drama which shows talent.

I like how he smiles innocently when he's throwing the truth out there. And, I suppose I don't understand Asian beauty standards because the character Choi Choon-Hee is pretty. What's up with saying she isn't? I don't know. :) Well...that's what I think without giving any of the plot away...now I'm going to go watch 12.

Anyway, i first watched the first episode when it first came out, and honestly it was pretty boring, so i never watched it again until last night when i got really desperate. But from ep 2 onwards i'm totally hooked! I watched 7 episodes in one night because it was so addicting and good! This is definitely worth watching! It's super hilarious and yet so touching and dramatic at times. I found myself always either laughing out loud or crying. Super super good drama so far!

The story is amazing and this is one of the first drama that made me cry. It's my 364 drama, I know what I'm talking (writting) about)!!!! The acting and the casting in this drama are perfect. After I watched Reply 1997 a year ago, my standards were raised REALLY HIGH from it, and it was hard to find a drama that held my attention for long. When I figured out Eunji was to be in a new drama, I was soo excited, bc her acting is amazing! Trot Lovers is very good, and all the actors are top notch! I love the chemistry between the male leads and Chun Hee/ Eunji. ( I HAVE SERIOUS SECOND LEAD SYNDROME IN THIS DRAMA BC SHIN SUNG ROK IS PERF <3) anyway~ this drama is very interesting and i recommend it to anyone!

Eunji and Ji Hyun Woo is really cute especially when joon hyun is jealous. Hahahahaha. As you see it, eunji is stealing our heart right, even she is not that pretty but she has something sweet in her. Woah I cant wait for the next episode. Everyone should watch this.

Honestly I don't find here as pretty as the other actresses, but i really really like her, there is something in her when she acts, she is even better than SSKyung, PSHye and JSYeon beep beep, (they are like plain rice when it comes to their facial expressions in acting nyehe.). oops back to this drama, thou some scenes are very common in Korean dramas, this drama is still fun and you will be craving for more, hakhak after seeing how cute Hyun woo and Eunji together, I already gave up my dream for Hyun Woo and Yoo In Na to reconcile haha,. oooh by the way i have a new love because of this series! Shin Sung-Rok-- i think I am falling for you haha, excellent acting. uhmmuah! Must watch this!

Davia Jul 17 2014 11:21 pm This drama is improving a lot since Joon Hyun and Choon Hee have gotten closer. I loved the scenes where they are hanging out at the countryside. I am also very happy that Ji Hyun-Woo sweetness is coming more to play as his character grows. He's such an amazing actor that I was hard pressed at first to believe that it was him playing the immature snooty star. Especially with the hair colour change. The acting in this drama is excellent all around. I am hoping the constant sabotaging is finished and the story line starts to get more variance than that. Would love it if the drama would explore more about Trot music. Also I am glad that the last episode has less of Soo Inn in it. That character is not interesting enough to warrant a lot of screen time. Love the two money lenders. I'm really into Korean humour. It really is the funniest.

I'm currently watching: You are all surrounded, Marriage not dating, and I just saw the first episode of High school love on now these are entertaining, truly enjoyable!♡ But maybe it is just my taste.

I watched My man from the stars and he was so creepy in it that he gave me goosebumps, but in Trot Lovers, he is so funny, lovable I fall in love with his character in the first episode when I saw how strange he was. I hope this drama will be a hit, I don't understand why the ratings are so low !! Trot Lovers FIGHTING !!

Now my appraisal on the cast, I've been Eun Ji 's fan since drama "reply 1997". Back in the day I didnt notice much of her acting skill. But now judging the point of her acting skill on expressing the character's emotions, she failed to do so or bluntly speaking she's so bad. I'm now a fan of her in singing but no longer acting.

One thing I didn't understand though is what proof was there that Joon Hyun slept with an under aged girl. The girl was not underaged plus she snuck away before the press got there. Joon Hyun could have sued the press for false statement and ruining his career.

This show may not gain high ratings due to its unique content of trot and not the usual kpop that's famous all over the world. But with that, though the number of viewers are not high, atleast each watcher are satisfied and having lots of laugh from watching this drama. Let's continue supporting the actresses and actors of this drama. They DO deserve it. :D Eunji-ya you're really a great actress. Sung Si-won? Choi Choon-Hee? it doesn't matter. You never fails to make watchers laugh. ^^

ohho Jun 28 2014 9:54 am The first two episodes were surprisingly awesome for me..I really like it..hopefully they can maintain the momentum until the end..There are a lot of funny moment especially with Shin Sung Rok scenes..I think he is a talented actor since he is able to make me laugh out loud even with his serious face. kekeke. i hate his character in My Love From The Star but i like him in this drama..Give this a try guys..I bet you wont regret it.
